Customers regard the ROG Zephyrus G16's OLED display and performance as exceptional, frequently praising its build quality and relatively light weight for its power. However, some users express concerns about its tendency to overheat and the limited RAM. While the speakers and portability are also appreciated, the battery life and fan noise receive mixed reviews. The high price point is also a factor for some potential buyers.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus is a beast! Super fast performance, handles gaming and multitasking like a pro. The display is smooth and vibrant, and the build feels premium but still lightweight. Great cooling system too. Highly recommend for gamers and power users! Another thing that I love about this is that its a gaming laptop with insane power, but it still looks like a normal everyday laptop and isn't so huge and bulky.

I bought an excellent open box. The Laptop look nice but it doesn't come in original package, and the package doesn't look good. The Laptop battery seems to drain very fast on default settings.

Tech work setting up networks on site, in office emails and data entry. Then when I need a moment to play a game. It works flawlessly and no skipping or issues. It gets a little warm, but have it on a desk or a platform if in you lap.

This laptop is all around a great buy. Laptop has great speakers and a great display. Battery life for a gaming laptop is OK normally about one hour to an hour and 30 minutes on battery only. But if your gaming on the laptop not plugged into the wall, maybe about 45 minutes. most games at 1440 P run on low to medium settings with no issues. This laptop normally gets on low to medium settings about 100 to 120 frames a second for most games.

I bought this laptop like a month ago and it is absolutely amazing. You can use it for gaming, studying, and working and it does the job well due to its thin chassis and lightweight. The resolution of the screen is amazing.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2024) stands out for its exceptional display, sleek design, and solid performance. While it excels in many areas, potential buyers should be aware of its thermal characteristics and non-upgradable RAM. Overall, it's a compelling choice for those seeking a high-end gaming laptop that doesn't compromise on portability or aesthetics.

Solid laptop runs anything I’ve thrown at it gaming wise so far it’s surprisingly thin which I thought was going to be an issue with cooling but it doesn’t heat up as much as I thought it would.

This is a sweet computer. It is fast and this is my second Asus gaming laptop I purchased. My only regret was not getting the 17” with 10 key. It truly is my dream computer. The Oleg picture I had no idea how amazing it would be. Crystal clear. I love this computer.

Hi I purchased this laptop for college and it’s great and everything works fine, my recommendation for anyone with this laptop is always make sure to take care of the panel because you don’t want to burn it in.

Hello and thank you for reading my review. I will be looking at this laptop from a casual user standpoint, I won’t necessarily be going over super technical stuff since there are many websites and YT channels that can come up with more accurate benchmarks than I do.
Here is my TL; DR
****Pros
-Beautiful OLED screen, running at about 2k resolution
-Screen can refresh up to 240hz for optimal fps gaming
-one of the most recent mid-to-high GPUs at the time this review was written
-Premium aluminum shell with minimal lighting (Depending on taste could be a deal breaker)
-Contains one of the newer and powerful intel Ultra i9 CPUs (185H)
-Very slim and light compared to bulkier Gaming laptops
-Crispy and clear sounding speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos
-Surprisingly good sounding microphone (tested through discord)
-HDMI2.1, Thunderbolt 4, 2 USB-A 3.2, 2 Type C 3.2
****Cons
-Soldered RAM
-1TB of Nvme Storage (will fill up fast especially with Warzone or editing )
-Even though speakers sound amazing can be a little quiet also takes up a good amount of space by the keyboard
****Tradeoffs (Gaming Laptop Things)
-Smaller size = Battery will not last long
-Big Speakers gets you a ~65% keyboard layout (no number pad)
-Minimalist design meaning you do not get the cool colors all over the bezel other than in the keyboard
-LPDDR5 RAM is soldered, meaning no upgrading RAM in the future (I know for a lot of people it is a make it or break it thing specially for the premium price tag)
-Battery is not the greatest but it is one of those things with gaming laptops.
-Proprietary charger
Alright now for the actual review. Let me start by saying I cannot get enough of that OLED screen. Everything looks so good even on the lowest brightness and on 1080p. If you get a little fancy and switch it to 240hz it just looks amazing. Anyways, the bezel its minimalistic nothing to crazy that screams gaming laptop. I know many people love their RGB but unfortunately not in this laptop other than in the keyboard. The only lighting built in is a diagonal line of white LEDs (no colors) that you can customize through software. The shell is built out of aluminum which I personally prefer. On the sides you get your ports which include an HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4, 2 USB-A 3.2, and 2 Type C 3.2. Whenever you open the laptop, you are greeted with a 65ish percent keyboard layout, with two grills on the sides which house the speakers and the mic. As I mentioned earlier the keyboard does have RGB and can be customized through software. The keys are also very quiet and feel as if they are red switches.
With the screen you get a 2.5k resolution OLED 240hz display that can go up to 500 nits. I will have to be honest if you consume most of your entertainment through your laptop, you will not be disappointed. Anyways moving on to the CPU and the GPU.
Inside you get an intel Ultra i9 185H which is a pretty new model. It is a “mobile” processor but still it is beefy and will get anything you throw at it done. GPU wise you get a 4070-laptop version, which is the lates and greatest from NVIDIA until something else gets announced. NOTE as I mentioned in the description If you want full specs and benchmarks, I recommend looking up the official website or YouTube channels that come up with better results than I do. With that in mind, let’s move on to the battery.
On the specs it shows that you can get up to 10hrs of battery from a full charge but let’s be real it is a gaming laptop, and one cannot expect the greatest battery life. From the several tests I did, I would say max the battery would last me around 7 hours with Silent mode, Eco mode, RGB off, and screen brightness on low. I mostly did some browsing and watched a video here and there. If I put on a show or a movie I would get around 5 hours with a full charge so if the time comes when you have movie date, this computer will have you covered. Lastly, if I put the computer on performance mode and set the refresh rate to 240hz I would get about 1hr of battery life so… make that as you will. One thing I will note is that if this is your first time buying a gaming laptop, one does not get it for the battery life, one mostly buys one of these for the portability of a powerful graphics card and CPU.
Now on to the RAM. Low power RAM will consume less power as stated, sure, but it comes at a cost and modularity has been a big part of gaming computers. IF you plan to keep this laptop for years, and plan to upgrade your RAM I would not recommend it. Other than that, the RAM is crazy fast and snappy. On the spec sheet it is stated to go up to 6400Mhz, but honestly on performance mode I have seen it go higher than that.
To conclude let me go over a few things. Storage you get a Gen 4 SSD Nvme with 1TB of space. It might sound like a lot, but it will fill up quick especially if you plan to do editing or download large games like apex or warzone. ASUS Armory Crate is also really good software where you can conveniently customize everything like lighting, power modes, display presets, and more. Also, this laptop is not too big or chunky so you can carry it in a midsize backpack or bag with no issues. Other than that, if you feel like some of the things, I explained are a deal breaker I completely understand and will leave it up to you to decide. For me personally the thing that got me hooked was the screen, it just looks too good, but the LP RAM just does not do it for me which is the reason I gave it a 4/5.

Loud fan noise, keyboard heats up in the center

Bought this lap couple of weeks ago, so far performance has been good, no lag and screen resolution looks good for gaming, learning to code and as well for audio engineering which I bought it for. Complaint is it generates loud fan noise and tends to heat up. Had to get another keyboard and have laptop on stand with additional fan.

i love it, It is powerful with its graphics, it is light, it is a perfect hybrid for gaming and productivity. It burns when you use it at maximum performance but with an external fan it works very well.

Pros:
- Value. GeForce RTX 4070 are a step above mid-tier hardware and are offered here at a reasonable price compared to other "gaming laptops."
- Performance. I've been able to play the newest and biggest games all on high / very high settings. I've had no issues, and I feel as if the games look and play great.
- Upgradability. I've NOT upgraded my machine as I don't want to void the warranty.
- Wifi. I get SIGNIFICANTLY better wireless Internet speeds on this device than the older gaming laptop I replaced. Did not expect that, but was pleasantly surprised.
- Sounds. Speakers sound good enough. Music through Spotify is crisp and bass gets picked up okay too.
Cons:
- Battery life. When casually scrolling the internet or lightly using it can last 8 hours, playing games can affect these numbers amounts by a noticeable difference. Thats common.
- Startup sound. Is a quick sword noise: okay.
- Camera. seems ok.
- Ports. Good enough for me and has everything I needed. However, some people might wish for more options.
Conclusion:
You should buy the laptop if your looking for a good OLED screen and that handle heavy apps, gaming, entertainment, or for work. I would recommend it to anyone, 5 stars!
