After watching a few online reviews and wanting to upgrade to a better gaming/work machine. I finally decided on the M15. While the graphics are nice, this bad boy heats up quickly, and the fan is insanely loud. I didn't think I'd be too bothered by the fans or the soldered memory, but I was, more so, after I found out it was only 8gb soldered and not the 16gb it came with. I have used other Asus machines in the past and have not been as disappointed as I am in the M15, but I do like that it is thin and not as heavy as a plus side.

I love this laptop and the is my first IPS panel ever( I use a TN Panel from ASUS ROG). It games well and the 240hz refresh rate is more than enough. It is dual channel at 2933mhz, this model is the I7 10th gen 6 core-12 threads. This is a 2070 MAX-Q Non super and trust me its enough and results will vary on user. Keyboard feels nice and this is a single zone RGB with AURA Sync. Now lets get to the problems Like the G14 this does have the odd black screen problem, I have no idea why 2. If you want to use Turbo or manual fan mode, you need it plug in with the battery pack... 3. The mouse pad I wish can be a little bigger but that is more of a personal problem for me, not might be for you 4. it does get a little hot on the keyboard area but its not that bad! 5. the manual is not very good, it very brief and it does not tell you on what can be upgraded or anything like that overall it is a great laptop with not that bad battery life, use 60hz id you're browsing to save some battery life for normal use. If you're a content creator get the 4k/60hz model for extra color and I think that one comes with the I7 8 core model. ASUS ROG you make great prodcuts but you really to get on the firmware side of things with the black screen problem!

At first I was nervous on spending my money on this laptop, but after doing some research and reading the reviews, I decided to give the Asus M15 a try. Now that I have spent a little over three weeks with it, I am very happy with my purchase. There are other laptops in the market that are far more expensive and lack some of the features or quality that the M15 offers. The G14 was also under my radar, but I did not want to settle for a 14 inch screen. This laptop may not have the newer Ryzen chips, but the 10th gen I7 has more than enough power for my needs. Perhaps I was far more impressed with this laptop than other buyers because I was switching from a Dell Inspirion with a GTX 1050Ti. Nevertheless, all the features this laptop provides do make the most out of your investment. The 240hz screen is very smooth, bright, and has a good color accuracy. The 2070 Max-Q may not be as good as a regular 2070, but it is a beast regardless. Zephyrus keyboards have always been pleasant to type on and this one is no exception. Although RGB keyboards are not my cup of tea, I have found myself turning it from time to time. Also, the lack of a number pad may be an issue for some, but it was a loss I was willing accept. The startup time is very quick, around 6-7 seconds approximately. Make sure to use task manager and disable unnecessary startup applications processes. In terms of cooling, I feel this laptops does a good job. Asus is using liquid metal and the fans do get loud, but that was to be expected in these slim machines with high specs. Lastly, the USB C port supports Thunderbolt which is always a plus. In terms of gaming performance, this machine can handle most games in their best settings with at least 60 fps. Watch Dogs 2 in Ultra with some minor shadow details turned down can be played between 60-70 fps with turbo mode enabled. If you really want to make use of the 240z screen, some less demanding games like Overwatch are able to hit the 200+ fps mark with some tweaks. Apex Legends can reach the 90-100 fps mark at max settings, though I prefer to turn some shadow details to high for a 30-40 fps increase. I am very happy with this laptop so far and hope that the quality allows for a long lifespan. If you are sitting on the fence on whether you should buy this laptop, I would recommend watching some youtube reviews for a closer look at the product. Though I doubt you would be disappointed once you get your hands on it.

I was in the market for a gaming PC, then researched gaming laptops. Just so opened this ASUS Zephyrus M15 model just came out and ready had all the specs I needed. Wanted a strong enough GPU to handle high res/frame AAA games and to be able to live stream as well. On the aesthetic side, I wanted something clean and professional for everyday casual use. With the 10th gen Intel Core i7, it handles everything with ease. I've been a macbook pro owner for the longest and this was my first windows computer and I absolutely love it. It does get really hot and loud once you power it in Turbo or even Performance, so I would suggest wearing headphones if you plan on playing games above medium settings.

I have owned it this laptop since 10/18/20 and have loved it so far. Price drop to 1249 for this kind of power is good. First things first this is not really a laptop you are going to use for extended hours on the go unplugged. It has a short battery life maybe 3-4 hours max. It also loses performance unplugged as the battery doesn't appear strong enough to support the processors/gpu for gaming/intense work. But if you want or need a computer easy to take with you to run and use in different rooms this will work for you. The computer runs hot while gaming or intense uses. Like 90C hot. I have a ITES GT300 cooling pad which keeps CPU/GPU around 65-80C temperature range. Another method is to disable CPU turbo which seemed to have little effect on performance but drastic effect on temperature. The computer can run most current gen games on ultra/high graphics very good to reasonably well. I ran No Man's Sky on my 4k TV and got around 40-20 fps max settings.

Very strong performance and fast. It does get hot, sometimes extremely hot so I bought a laptop cooling pad. The graphics are great and the card drives up the temp. I bought it for performance, not for portability so the extra weight does not concern me. The battery can suffer but the performance is worth it.

This is my first gaming laptop/high end computer. I'm using it for games and the parts of the Adobe suite (Iillustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) and it's handled everything I've thrown at it like a champ. I like how thin it is compared to my old laptop. It surprised me that this could run demanding games with how thin it is to me. I love the larger screen but it can make it hard to travel with. It will barely fit into my laptop sleeve in my backpack but fits perfectly in a laptop case. Only big downsides I've found is the heat, fan, and a mini trackpad issue. I'm not sure how other gaming laptops get but this one gets hot to the point where you can feel it on the top rows of keys. The fan is also really loud when it's working hard. Due to keyboard placement the palm of my hand will sometimes touch the trackpad while playing games. This isn't important to most but the keyboard does light up which is fun. You can mess with a lot of color settings but the whole keyboard will only be one color. Not important but good to know if you're into that. I've had this computer for a few months and haven't had any major issues with it.

fan is kinda loud but there's options to turn it down, wouldn't really recommend turning it down if you're gaming since it can get really hot. plus you can't hear the fan if you just put on headphones. it's an amazing laptop and runs games super super well, would recommend it to anyone looking for gaming laptops.

I did a lot of research prior to making my decision to buy this laptop. Asus has achieved the perfect balance of performance, battery life, portability, and build quality in 2020. The i7 and RTX 2070 combination is sufficient for any casual or hardcore gamer. Most games run butter smooth on 1080p at more than 100 FPS. Some modern AAA titles will require settings cranked down to medium, but most games, especially older ones can be on high or maxed out with minimal losses to framerate. You may be able to improve performance by using a cooling mat to avoid thermal throttling for long-term gaming, but I haven't had issues so far. The screen is no joke either. The 240 Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time means that you can reap the benefits of the 2070's framerates and play competitive shooters without issue. It's color-accurate and has a great viewing experience. My only complaint is that it's a tad too dim for my liking in a well-lit room, but performs excellent overall. The battery life is also surprisingly excellent. I recently took a 6 hour flight and was able to watch multiple downloaded movies back-to-back with more than 30-40% of the battery remaining by the end of both movies. My power profile was set to the default "silent" mode for my flight. My experience was also offline, so almost no background services were consuming power by transmitting data. On silent mode, the estimated battery life I could achieve was somewhere around 10 hours. Keep in mind this will go down as you actively perform tasks on the computer. For a gaming/creator laptop, this is great news, because you can use it unplugged for light tasks for an extended period of time. I have not tested the battery while gaming, because there's no sense in it. Unplugging the laptop disables the NVidia GPU to preserve power. So you won't get more than an hour or two of use out of it on a AAA game, and its framerates will be terrible. Unless you're playing a casual game, I wouldn't consider playing on battery. Your experience will be severely gimped if you do so. The chassis is made of metal, which helps improve thermals and structural integrity. The difference between my previous plastic laptop from 2016 and this metal laptop is immeasurable. The keyboard feels excellent, responsive, and well-spaced. The backlighting is also great. Despite the images showing a split headphone/mic jack, the headphone portion will also work for combination jack headsets. No need to buy an adapter there. As for cons, there's only a few. Whether or not these are deal-breakers will depend on your use-case, but for me, there's no issues. - There is no webcam, only a built-in microphone. - The keyboard layout is non-standard like some major competitors offer. - There are no biometrics features, so no Windows Hello features are available for fast unlock. - As mentioned earlier, the screen is a tad dim for a well-lit room, in my opinion. - The fans can become obscenely loud on performance mode while gaming. I would not use performance mode in a public setting or without headphones to dampen the ambient sound. This is to be expected for any gaming laptop. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone with the ambition to game or create content at a casual level. The power will be sufficient for almost anyone's needs and work flawlessly for streaming, video editing, or gaming. There are some mildly better options if you're looking for code-building or strictly casual use, but in general I don't think you'll be able to find a better laptop in 2020 that delivers the value that this model of the Asus M15 does.

Amazing machine! Everything you can ask for to play literally 100% of all AAA game titles. Checked canyourunit.com and every game is tackled by this powerhouse. Underrated and most places have a great deal on the price. This is the best version of the M15 with the RTX 2070 Max Q Design and 240ghz Display. I am giving 4 stars only because there is an issue (to me) with the Aura Sync and AI controlled CPU/GPU (Armory Crate) Profiles and Cooling Issues. After about 4 hours of gaming in Turbo Mode it tends to run upwards of 90 to 100*C. Granted 4 hours is alot to most but to me and the Hardcore Elite, 4 hours is a warm up. Also, the AI gets somewhat confused when opening multiple apps and multi tasking and switches Profiles and Keyboard colors. Overall, A plus and highly recommended. I need to contact ASUS and see if they have any fixes for my cooling issue but until then i have the Notebook on a elevated stand and have a small USB external fan aimed at it, lol.

I got it during the Early Black Friday sale at a discounted price and it is hard to beat the value. Pros: 1. Lightweight and thin. Extremely portable for the specs. 2. Very good port selection. Thunderbolt support and charging via USB-C. You don't need to carry the huge power brick. I just use the same charger for my laptop and phone when at work. 3. Display is awesome for gaming. The IPS FHD screen looks crisp and 300Hz/3ms refresh is phenomenal. 4. Performance is really good because of the i7 6-core and RTX 2070 Max-Q. 5. Comes with 1TB storage and there is an open slot for another SSD. Cons: 1. RTX 2070 is Max-Q. I wish it was the mobile version. 2. Fans are really loud, but necessary to counter the small form. 3. One of the 8GB RAM is soldered. The other 8GB RAM is upgradeable to 16GB which makes the total to 24GB. I wish the soldered version was 16GB, so I could upgrade it to 32GB dual channel. 4. Keyboard back-lighting is single color. 5. Lacks a num-pad even though there seems to be enough space.

I’ve had this laptop for about 3 weeks now, I will say, yes it runs warm, however not any more then is considered normal for these type of machines, the hottest I’ve gotten is around 82, and that’s when I was doing some more intense gaming. Idle with a cooling pad its around 39. Overall I’d say it’s extremely fast, there’s some nice preloaded software like “ armory crate“ which will show the cpu & gpu Temperatures. It may not have a webcam but I bought the Logitech 4K pro with this and it works great with this, honestly not having a built in webcam isn’t an issue, you can buy a much higher quality one like the one I did and attach it. What I will recommend doing however is a setting with the keyboard, while sleeping the keyboard binks/flickers, this is not an issue with your laptop, just a very odd setting that can be disabled. Overall I’d say this is a very solid and decent laptop, very fast, and good specs, good for gaming, or 3D design and photoshop which I also use this for!

Have had this computer for a few days now and absolutely love it! I originally had purchased the G14 but returned it quickly because of how hot it ran. After research, forums said that it was made to run that hot without damaging it, 90-100 degrees C. That’s fine, except that touching that laptop anywhere was just uncomfortable lol. PROS: Anyway I ended up purchasing the M15 on sale for $1249 which was a sick deal. The fans are loud on full load but it does a great job on getting that heat out and not throttling without having to undervolt. Build quality is sturdy and I like the gray/blue chassis. The screen is very vibrant and has amazing viewing angles. The 240Hz is also a nice touch. The keyboard is good too. CONS: I don’t mind it not having a camera, but I can see why other people would dislike not having one. if I were to have any complaints it’s the bottom firing speakers are very muffled. To be fair that’s coming from someone who also owns a 16” MacBook Pro haha.

As the title says, this is my first gaming laptop, and my first gaming PC purchase, in general since I built my last gaming desktop based on the 2nd Generation Core i7 many years ago (in PC years). I am an IT professional and wanted the laptop to also double as a nice work desktop replacement AND to connect to my 65" 4K TV to play PC games on it. I really didn't know what to expect, but I have to say that I am very pleased with the performance of this device. At first the high temperatures caused me some concerns, but it seems like that is par for the course with most gaming laptops. From what I have researched, the temps that it operates in Turbo mode while gaming are normal. I did purchase an inexpensive cooling pad just in case, though. I have to say the positives I have about this unit are: 1) Overall size and weight. It's not so heavy that you can't lug around, and it is actually quite thin for a gaming laptop 2) Screen performance - though it is a matte screen (if you don't like, you may want to look elsewhere), the performance is great at 240Hz 3) Performance - it has no problem running anything I throw at it in either high or sometimes ultra settings. I connect it to my 60Hz 65" 4K TV and it actually runs quite well at 2160p for many games (i.e. Gears 5) and will get >60FPS doing so. 4) Thunderbolt (USB-C) PD. That's right, you don't have to lug around that huge 230 Watt power supply to take to school/work. I use nearly any of my Chromebooks' USB chargers at work. It will not do turbo mode using USB-C PD, but will run in performance mode. My negatives: 1) Battery life. Like the temp though, I think this is par for the course with a gaming laptop with a card such as the RTX2070 in it. There is no way you can play anything on battery for more than 30 minutes, I wouldn't think. I can milk 3-4 hours out of mine if I use Amory Crate and set it to Windows Power Saving mode and turn the screen/keyboard brightness down. 2) Heat during sleep mode. I highly recommend that you simply shut this laptop down when not in use. You can research on the internet but it appears that it is a very common issue with Asus Gaming laptops. It seems to involve Microsoft's change to the sleep behavior in Windows 10 after update 2004. You will think the laptop will sleep, but all fan regulation goes out the door, so it gets extremely hot. The first (and last) time I let this happen, when I was able to get the device back up (I put out in my garage to cool down quickly as it was winter time). So please, be warned. That is another reason I purchased the cooling pad in case I forget and let the laptop sleep. 3) RAM configuration. Unfortunately, in order to fit the memory into such a small case, Asus chose to solder one 8GB SODIMM on the motherboard opposite of it's (only one) removable 8GB SODIMM. So you can only upgrade the one slot, which most advise against as you will lose the memory's dual channel capability. So can increase to 24 or 40GB, but again, most advise against it (and for gaming, 16GB is more or less enough). Honestly, if I would have researched this a bit more, I wouldn't have purchased this laptop as I would have liked to have had 32GB minimum. So in conclusion, looking back, I wish I would have researched a bit more on the RAM configuration, but am I happy with the device? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes - if it is on sale for <$1,400 AND, most importantly, the RAM configuration doesn't bother you.

Solid laptop so far. Ive had this for about a month and use it for general everyday use, video editing, livestreaming, and some gaming. Livestreaming is separate from gaming, but I dont see why it wouldnt handle both at the same time just fine. I usually rip out all included software when I get a new computer, but decided to leave the Asus stack installed. Its not really bloat and offers a lot of control. Of course you actually need the software for some features (like RGB lighting) so it wouldnt make sense to remove it anyway. Putting it in "performance" mode for games helps. Though it does run hot when gaming. You can tweak the CPU and GPU with other, non-included software to compensate if you like, without affecting performance much at all. Putting it in Turbo mode is too much - way too hot and way too loud. I think it got somewhere around 17,000 on a 3dmark firestrike test though.

I'm not a Asus "fanboy" or anything but I do have a number of their products. That includes an Asus ROG 17" laptop that's now about 8 years old. I still use it daily and its durability and continued usability is what led me to put the Asus M15 toward the top of my list when looking for a laptop for my son. First things first: I hate bloatware. You know, the billion different pieces of software that a lot of manufacturers install on your computer that you don't want or need and end up spending unnecessary time removing. This laptop doesn't have that issue. Yes there are some additional Asus utilities but nothing intrusive or annoying - and nothing we felt we wanted to remove. For usability, no complaints there either. The laptop is pretty much handling anything and everything my kid throws at it from school utilities to games. The machine is responsive, the display looks great and plenty of storage. Cooling looks good though under gaming mode - it does get a bit toasty. So for the cons: As mentioned, it does get warm in gaming mode. The fan is also audible. I guess it could be distracting but based on other reviews, the speed of the laptop (and amount of heat it has to dump) I wasn't surprised by that. We may get a laptop cooler to sit under it for his use at home though. The other is a concern about durability. There aren't any issues but I'm comparing it to my old ROG laptop - a G74S. That thing is built like a tank and you could probably park your car on it without damaging the thing (okay - maybe not). This machine is a lot lighter and a lot slimmer. That means there is more flex to the machine and display. So that leads to a bit of concern though again no issues at this time

Although the reviews from others show some compromised components or flawed internals, the one I received is very close to flawless. It’s been 30 days since I’ve received and this bad boy still hasn’t let me down. The performance is blazing fast, not just in games, but also installing and booting up the machine, or opening apps. Even with ‘Performance’ mode turned on for most of the time; I meant I barely need to use ‘Turbo’ mode for most of the time. The temps are more than satisfactory when playing games, although noise level is around 40-45 decibels. The 240Hz display is too crazy fast for my eyes for the first week, but I’m now used to it. I bet you won’t be able to tell a difference between 144Hz, but hey, it’s better to have it than not having it. As for the RAM, it’s plenty for 90% of my use cases. Although, there’s something that needs to be clarified. Windows task manager shows the frequency at 2993MHz, but ASUS stated that it is factory set at 3200MHz. It might have to go with the i7 chip that caps the -10750H model at 2933MHz. Nvidia RTX 2070 Max-Q runs all the games I’ve thrown at it with mostly ‘Ultra’ settings at ease (full disclosure, I’m just a casual gamer. I didn’t use current AAA games but instead use both a mix of old and new titles). One thing though, you might have to undervolt your CPU; I undervolted to 65mV (best 50mV above). Asus recommends & limits your choice until 80mV. After I did that, the fan of the CPU barely turned on and ran unexpectedly cool for most of my workloads. It’d be great if you also tweak the frequency curve for the 2070, using the MSI Afterburner software. Keyboard is a little of a mixed opinion. Single-zone keylight isn’t as aesthetically pleasing compared to RGB per-key. When opened from the box, I didn’t get used to the squishy keys since I migrated from Apple’s butterfly keyboard. Tbh, I’m still not used to it. Key travel is a bit short and I tend to click the wrong keys from time to time. Still needs practice I guess. The speakers’ are a bit tiny in terms of both treble, bass and volume. The volume bar isn’t equal either. You have to push through 70 & 90 levels to hear the jump in volumes. This is the most mediocre component in an otherwise excellent machine. However, built-in microphone & DAC/ADC is very very good. You can feel the clarity & crisp of the songs when you plug in your headphones or earphones. Finally, the mousepad. It’s decent. Clicks well. Glass material for the pad makes it a smoother experience. It’d be great if the surface area is greater though. Ending my review of my 1-month review with this magnificent machine, I’d recommend anyone that doesn’t need ultra crazy specs or an insane price tag. At times, best buy tends to give some discount on this beast. So, do keep an eye on it if you’re interested. Apart from the mediocre speakers, this machine delivers more than I expected and exceeds most of it.

I bought this computer for curbside pickup sight unseen - and have never been happier with a laptop. It just feels nice, the case is solid and well constructed, it has a great looking keyboard (love the color change) and the ports are well laid out and spaced. Performance wise its top notch - extremely quick read/writes and seems to handle any game with ease. I'm not a serious gamer, so I'm sure there are better models out there at 3x the price, but this machine is an amazing value. Also used it for video editing and it handled even the most demanding rendering requests with ease. Only minor downside - under full load the fans do get loud and the bottom of the machine gets hot. That said - its half and inch thick and loaded with hardware, so it has to move a lot of air to stay cool. Just stop reading reviews and buy this computer.

I was fortunate to get this laptop during an early black friday sale. This laptop is INSANELY good for the value. Originally I Purchased the G14 Ryzen 9 with RTX 2060 Max Q but when this M15 became available for only $50 more, I could not resist the upgrade. The 240 Hz screen needs to be seen in person to truly understand how smooth and butter it is. I am an avid PC gamer and bought this laptop with the intention of everyday use as well as heavy gaming. This laptop DOES NOT disappoint. It has all the major needs for a gamer as well as the important needs for a (mostly) future proof laptop purchase. Thunderbolt 3, expansion space for more storage, and the screen make this purchase worth the investment for long term. Its worth noting, the build quality is really nice. The only nitpicky issue I have is the limit with customization for the keyboard on this particular model but with how well this laptop performs, I cannot complain at all. Be aware, Fans can get loud but performance gets better when they turn on so it's expected for a portable, performance gaming laptop.

I've had this computer for a few weeks now and talk about BANG FOR YOUR BUCK this thing runs games and all of the Adobe Suite graphic design programs flawlessly! I haven't tried video editing yet on it. I love this laptop and even if you buy it full price you can go back to Best Buy and get the difference back when it goes on sale. The fan does get loud but if you use headset it doesn't matter. And the battery is TERRIBLE. Not even close to 6 hours - more like 3-4 not on battery with battery saving settings. I wouldn't use my laptop on the go anyway so it doesn't matter. This baby is powerful! Same specs as Macs that are double the price! Such a great laptop so far. I keep it to cool on Newvante bamboo stand w/fan I bought on Amazon otherwise it'd likely overheat. With the fan it stays at around 60-75C when gaming
