Although the image on the Best Buy listing is inaccurate as of the time of this review (it looks very different and has four antennae), this is a reliable, fast router. The ASUS web administration tool has everything I need, and their mobile app is a convenient way to monitor bandwidth usage and use various network tools like Wake-on-LAN, so I can power on my computer from anywhere. I've had no issues with speed or wireless signal.

I initially bought this as a stop-gap for my new apartment to get out of paying outrageous ISP router rents. I was surprised at how flexible the stock configuration utilities are to power my setup. Signal strength and range are more than enough to reach every corner of my apartment - I needed to reduce the range to avoid my phone connecting slowly from our parking lot. I don't pay for a crazy fast up/down speed so the WiFi 6 compatibility is more of a "want" in my case. The default configuration utility is very powerful and grants all the features a tinkerer will need to tweak for their devices: My wireless headphones are near the router and receive interference from the 2.4 GHz band - software made it easy to reduce power to the appropriate radio and fix my problem. It's also very easy to adjust bands to best fit the local airwaves in our crowded complex.

Definitely more secure since it does come with lifetime Trend Security and WI-Fi 6. Set up was easy, much assistance also customizable. Wi-Fi range is excellent for two floors for sure. It is fast enough for streaming in 4k and cruizing the Net. Price is great. You can trust buying at Best Buy.

My main router is an Asus, but it did not have quite enough range to provide a strong wifi signal to the far corners of our house. I bought this second Asus router as a wifi extender. Asus has its own proprietary extender software called AIMesh. It works great - absolutely seamless in actual use. Very easy to setup. Every corner of the house now gets great signal strength using two Asus routers and AIMesh. No need to tell your many devices which router to use - they all just connect without any special instructions or routines. You can also select a software option called “Optimization” which appears to automatically analyze your network signal strengths and devices, and then adjusts the network for optimal signal strength and speed. The network was already fast, but the ‘Optimization’ routine improved it. Also, if you are not doing heavy gaming, you can use the Asus app to instead optimize your network for video streaming or web surfing - that improves performance too. Of course, gamers will prefer the other setting. Really pleased with this purchase and with the Asus app which shows your entire network and all the devices connected to it. And the programmers finally realized that most of us are not programmers - and they made this app pretty easy to use.

If you are like me and live in an apartment building that supplies Wi-Fi, do not buy this router. It searches for a modem and refuses to connect to the internet if you do not have access to one. In my unit there is an Ethernet jack in the wall, but no modem. I still have no clue how I got this thing working. After weeks of getting no connectivity I plugged my pc directly into the ethernet jack on the wall, then unplugged that cable from my pc, then plugged it back into the router. All of the sudden the router worked. Router works great now that it accepts a signal, I’m still confused as to why it initially refused the internet connection without the presence of a physical modem. Even more confused as to why it accepted the connection once I hardwired my PC, removed that connection, and then reconnected the router. Glad that worked though! Oh, also, while it was refusing a connection in normal mode it would accept one in access point mode. However, in access point mode you lose access to the management console, so if you are planning on taking full advantage of the capabilities of this router you can forget about it in access point mode! Overall good router, pain to set up, Asus support is meh, but this router is great once you get it to work.

The router is a stud! Setup was without a doubt the simplest I have ever had with this advanced of a router. Considering it was being paired with a garbage COX modem, I was shocked at just how good the streaming was after install!

I needed a replacement for my Nighthawk NETGEAR router and I heard good things about the ASUS - AX1800. I decided to try ASUS since they make good motherboards and I have no regrets. It works a lot faster than the Nighthawk and I don't have anymore disconnections so far.

After having this for a while, it has worked flawlessly and is a great addition to our home network. It now the main router in our home's Mesh network. easy to set up and use. Documentation could be improved by giving more examples on covered subjects and functionality.

Wi-Fi 6 (AX) does make a noticeable difference over Wi-Fi 5 (AC), particularly if you have several high-bandwidth devices in your network like video game consoles, and video streaming devices. ASUS makes the setup easy and quick without skimping out on advanced features should people like to tinker with their network. Highly recommend.

Super router for the money. So easy to set up with the Asus app and even easier to view, manage. Had this working in less than 10mins and it's stabilized all my previous spotty wifi issues.

Awesome! Coverage area has increased compared to my previous ASUS AC1300 router. Previous router was throttle speeds from my modem for some reason, switching to this fixed the issue.

Best wifi 6 router that I have tried. I tried a TPlink wifi 6 and it had a ton of connection issues. No issues with this at all.

It does everything as advertised. I use it as an AiMesh node. The router interface is loaded with options and it runs like a dream.

Great add on for my current home network. I use it as an Access Point with Asus AI Mesh and it has greatly improved the coverage around my house.

Using it as a nest system with my AX-11000 Asus router to extend the signal into my bedroom where I have multiple wifi devices connecting to it. Works as intended with no issues.

I am using this router in a system at home to extend the wifi range. Previously there were lots of disconnections and slow internet issues but after adding this extra router for the other side of the house, it has stabilized everything.
