This monitor seems to have a special sku but the menu seems to think it's a VG259QM. Mine came in what looks to be the original retail packaging which from previous reviews I was not expecting. Currently I'm waiting on a few more components for my PC to really test out the 240-280hz. My Xbox One X recognized VRR immediately which was nice. I included a picture of the power cord which had slipped out of the bag and had some Styrofoam almost glued to it but after some careful scraping it came off. I examined for dead pixels and this one seems to be all good to go. The adjustment mechanics seem like they are really good quality coming from a lower end model. It goes higher and lower than my AOC monitor and the rotation 90 degrees feels solid as it seems to lock in place. I've been looking at this model online through various sites and this is by far the best pricing for it. I would highly recommend.

No words. I upgraded from a 144hz 27 inch TN panel and the IPS is waaaay better. For Competitive gaming especially high frames, this 280hz is the SHIZ. 11/10 recommend to anyone. I get 300 frames on Valorant so this is a must have! If you’re wanting the upgrade and don’t think this is worth it, click the order button don’t be scared.

Amazing display, but the panel lottery is real...

I love this awesome monitor, but the panel lottery is real.
After months of research and a few false starts, I finally found the perfect display for my dual-monitor gaming/work setup.
What else did I look at?
I also tried a 34" curved ultrawide from LG, but the curve made me feel nauseated when using it for work. It also had a stuck pixel. That went back to Amazon.
The top 24" budget pick from AOC felt absurdly cheap with horrible backlight bleed. Likewise, one of the two displays I received had a dead pixel. With a replacement out of the question until March, I wasn't waiting that long for something I didn't even like. Again, back to Amazon.
My search eventually led me to the ASUS VG259QM, which I got from Best Buy.
Because I use this setup for both gaming and work, it's important that the displays are comfortable with strong color performance and exceptional uniformity. I also have limited desk space, so dual 25" monitors is literally the biggest I could do. Likewise, these were going to be mounted to a dual-monitor stand, so they couldn't have a "chin" that would prevent them from being pushed flush together.
The GOOD news: my search is over. I love this monitor.
The display I'm using now is phenomenal with no serious issues and great black uniformity. While there's significant IPS glow in the corners (unavoidable, really), I don't notice any backlight bleed around the edges, nor any dead/stuck pixels. I liked the colors out of the box, but I also admit they need some tweaking.
I also love 240hz more than expected and don't think I could ever go back to a slower display. It's been great for gaming and work alike. Awesome build quality, too. The monitor feels sturdy and was easy to set up. There's even a trick to get it to run 10-bit color using CRU.
Now for the BAD news...
I'm still trying to lock in an acceptable replacement for my second screen. The first had a small, dark spot in the upper half of the screen (see pics). Not a dead pixel, it looked more like a piece of dirt or dust got caught under the anti-glare coating during manufacturing. This was in addition to moderately distracting backlight bleed, so that was too many serious issues for one display.
I ordered a replacement.
Unfortunately, the replacement had the same "dust speck" issue as the first, only much worse, with two or three specks on the display that were noticeable on a light-colored background. I'm now waiting for a second replacement to get here, this way I can (hopefully) close the book on this setup.
Each of my displays were manufactured in December 2020, so it's possible a couple bad eggs made it into that batch. Here's hoping my next replacement is my final replacement, with performance as good as the display I have in front of me right now. If that winds up being the case, I couldn't be happier.
Overall, I recommend the VG259QM, but check your screen carefully when you get it.

Has been great for the past 2 years. No issues. Performs like new. Fast, responsive, great visuals.
Used for work and Gaming of course.
Only drawback were the speakers being a bit quiet for my liking. No issues otherwise. Newer models have much better speakers

Great value monitor

This monitor is great for its price. It comes with a refresh rate of 240Hz out of the box, but you can overclock it up to 280Hz as advertised. It already feels very snappy and smooth with 240Hz, but 280Hz is even better. It’s not a huge improvement, but I can tell the difference. One thing to keep in mind is that HDMI only supports up to 240Hz, so you cannot overclock the monitor if you’re using HDMI. You have to use DisplayPort to get the 280Hz as advertised. It is strange how Asus advertised this monitor as 280Hz, but didn’t explain how it was only possible with DisplayPort. Still, that doesn’t take away from the fact that this monitor is great. If you mostly play fast paced games like first person shooters, this monitor is a great choice. It is only 1080p though, so the pixel density isn’t amazing. If you also value visual quality, there are other good options out there. But if you just want a really fast refresh rate monitor, pick this one up!

Stuck green pixel

Overall not bad, 240hz native refresh rate and 24 inches are very suitable for gamers. The color gamut and color depth are average, and nano ips can be considered instead of fast ips in pursuit of this aspect. This display has a stuck pixel in the middle, which is kind of annoying. The white uniformity is not very good, and the lower right corner is gray in the case of full white.

I bought a excellent condition opened box, 2 weeks ago and when i got it 2 days later I noticed there’s been scratches and I don’t know if i was supposed to have a display cable but all there was in the box was the: power cord, the screws, the monitor it self, and the base structure to hold it. The monitor is good, but don’t buy the open boxes.

Very nice monitor, great picture though I recommend turning the brightness down as out the box it’s on 100 brightness. Adjusted the brightness and saturation abit and now it looks great. For 1080p it’s amazing and the 280hz was the selling point for me. Seems to be built very well, the stand is very thick and nice. Highly recommend!

Best monitor I have owned by far and I’ve owned more expensive monitors before the colors on this are good not great out the box but easy enough to fix, it has little to no backlight bleeding which is a big plus for me all the other led monitors that I’ve gotten had a lot of bleed but not this one, also the gsync works flawlessly again the other more expensive monitors had mediocre gsync which my screen would still tear and it didn’t even feel like a difference this one you can really feel the smooth ness with the variable refresh rate. 9/10 would buy a second one

Bought the VG259QMY to replace a 27" 1440p panel that was just too big for my gaming desk. I always prefer 24-25 inch panels anyhow. This Asus us 100% identical to the VG258QM model sold other places. I'm currently using it on a Xbox Series X until I finish sh my gaming PC and already love it. Does 1080p@120hz with zero issues. Games look great and run incredibly smooth. This panel is extremely bright out of the box as I've had Asus panels before and always use Scenery mode but it's just retina burning bright on this panel and colors seem off. I'm using the Racing preset and it looks incredible. Blacks look black and colors just look incredibly accurate. Cannot recommend this monitor enough. It's a steal at it's $320 price point.

Been having this monitor for a couple months now, it was working great until today, saw that it had a dark spot on the right side of the monitor when turning on. Tried changing some brightness settings but none worked to try and fixed it so I’m assuming screen is going bad.
