What you need to know and how to upgrade: Only lacks in memory dept IMO Some say screen lacks but looks great to me. Not 144hz but who cares. I-5 10th gen seems fine. I upgraded the Ram with Hyper-X (by Kingston) to 32G CL16(LoweR CL# the better) 2666mhz DDR4 “Sodimm” which means smaller size for lap top. I didn’t have to adjust my bios. (16g would be good too) I upgraded the storage by adding a 1-TB m.2 NVME SSD Samsung 970 Evo-Plus 2280(physical size). All I had to do was allocate it by watching a 2-min YouTube video. Both memory upgrades cost me $300 together. $600 for the machine on Black Friday so $900 and I still have space for 2.5 data SSD or HDD, I believe it can take either. It edits video great (like 60+ gig videos) and I can’t wait to download games to it! Just got the steam app today. This is my first gaming laptop and I had to do hours of research just to find the perfect upgrades I listed above. Hope it helps someone. Have a good day!

Purchased this as a Black Friday deal. I needed to replace my 10 year old laptop for school. This machine is a better deal than your standard school laptop. I don't plan on running games but it can handle some games. I purchased a mouse and external hard drive. I love the custom color keyboard. The laptop came with some kind of dongle that I have no idea what it is for as there were no instructions. So far I've been very happy with this purchase and the machine is much faster than my older laptop. It connects to my TV via the HDMI cord (not included). The built-in webcam is satisfactory but I also purchased a HD webcam and USB microphone which I will use for podcasting.

Great laptop for the price. I purchased it as a gift for my gf’s kid and the little guy could not be any happier. Solid build, decent battery life for gaming laptop ( I have shut off turbo boost on battery and getting around 6 hours of life watching movies/browsing internet). IPS screen has decent colors and viewing angles. After some OS optimizations I got 60fps in WH2 at 1929x1080 with temp around 70c (turbo boost off), pic with settings attached. My older ASUS ROG with 1060 and 7700hq gets 90fps with same settings and was double the price, but on battery runs for 2.5 hours of watching movies/browsing web. All in all very satisfied with the purchase and would recommend.

It's a great device, its amazing at gaming. Hasn't given me any issues yet. So far. I'm impressed at this device. Its capabilities, and other features it has. The most thing I love is the keyboard. It changes colors. That right there made my day.

Very good budget laptop and probably around the high tier. It is worth buying it when on sale. You get good components and works very well in many tasks. It has upgraded ram, hdd and ssd for when you want extra speed or storage. Screen quality however is a disappointment. If I bought it for $800 instead of $600, I would return it. Screen is dark and hard to see at times and that just ruins the whole experience. I expect a bright screen with at least 75hz for $800.

Definitely recommend capping your games to 30fps and going to the 3D image as well as well and setting it to Performance in the Nvidia control panel. It's a clever trick to keep this laptop cooler because it doesn't have the best Cooling. Another issue is that the battery is not the best. Other than that I have had one of the best experiences over. Thankful that Best Buy had this in stock. You can definitely upgrade the space by adding a Samsung SSD drive as well as a nvme SSD stick. It only has 256 gigabytes but you can had enough space to make one terabyte. Pretty powerful machine for Just 4gb vram. It's definitely mobile device. But it is worth the price. If you guys are looking to buying this as I said previously Beware of the battery in the cooling. And take my tips on capping your games to 30 FPS in the Nvidia control panel. I know smoother frame rates better but not overheating the GPU with high frame rates makes the system last a lot longer. For all I know I could be over exaggerating with a cooling and it could have one of the best Cooling solutions ever but my personal opinion is recommendation cap your frame rates.

Purchased on sale for $599.99. Asus makes the best laptops and are the king of motherboards. This laptop is built very well. Keys hug your fingertips. Quick tip. If you want to change the color of the background keys you have to hob to the Microsoft store and download Asus Tuf Aura. Then you can pick any color you want your back-lit keyboard to be.

    Webcam Issues

Unfortunately the webcam had visual issues right out of the box. There would be bars going across the feed as seen in the pictures. It would happen after using Zoom and once it did, you would see it no matter what app you used with the webcam. If you search the specific webcam model and driver within this laptop, you'll see other people discussing issues with it. We exchanged the first one we received, but even the replacement had the same issue out of the box. Everything else worked great, but our purchase decision had the criteria of a working webcam.

ASUS TUF Beats ACER Nitro 5

What is great laptop for the price. I had the ACER Nitro 5, same specs with i5, but this one is so much better. The USB-C port is actual Display Port, so that you can run 2 additional monitors. The Nitro 5 can only run 1 monitor, which in 2020, is dated. The build quality for a $600 laptop is outstanding, the key board is much better than the Nitro, it has RGB, glows different colors. The keyboard and mouse and super nice for this price point. In my opinion, this is best entry level gaming laptop for the price, I had the Dell G3, Acer Nitro, this is much better. Buy It!

Decent For The Price - Touchpad Needs Work

I bought this expecting a budget gaming system and that's exactly what I got some aspects are good, others not so much, most right down the middle. Pros: All plastic build seems pretty sturdy, feels good, no keyboard flex that I've noticed. Great Wi-Fi. Internet speed tests are showing easily double the speeds of any of my other wireless devices. Easy to upgrade, once the back is off it was a snap to install an additional 8gb of RAM, I will also be installing an additional 500gb SSD. Reasonable price for what you get Cons: The touchpad. This is the worst aspect of this laptop. The touchpad is terrible. Poor response (if it responds at all). The closest thing to a solution is to change from the ASUS precision to the generic Windows touchpad driver, this helps a lot. Or, just use a mouse (ASUS no doubt cheaped out know gamers usually use mice) ASUS needs to work on this, I have a throw away Lenovo Flex 11.6" that I paid ~$200 for that has a much nicer glass clickpad. There is no excuse for this. No built in microphone. Most gamers use headsets anyway but if you expect to do double duty and use this for work/school Zoom meeting you're going to have to use a headset. Neutral: RAM and storage: low but that's what you get with a budget rig. Not sure how it runs stock as I added 8 gigs of RAM before I ever booted it up. RAM and SSDs are cheap, easy upgrades and worth it. Keyboard: Decent key travel, seems sturdy, no flex. Key spacing is kind of far apart so it takes a little getting used too. Keyboard RGB lighting is nice but the software could use some work. Display: It's ok. Not much else to say, it's a run of the mill 60hz display. Webcam is mediocre but about what I expect from a laptop. Video card, the 1650Ti only has 4gb of RAM which will tell on newer AAA games (but if you were intending to run AAA games at maxed out settings you wouldn't have bought this laptop). Sufficient to my gaming needs but not "future proof" by any means. Overall performance: Does what I need it to do and let's me play the games I want to play (Metro: Last Light, Total War: Warhammer) at high detail. I upgraded the RAM before first boot so I can't say how it would run them stock. Overall a pretty decent budget rig, shame about the touchpad though.

Very high quality gaming laptop, would 100%say it is worth the purchase on have had it for a little over a day now but runs all of my games perfect (I play games like Valheim, Overwatch, and some more graphics intensive games that this computer runs without stress, yes the fans can get a little loud but only after a few hours and they do an incredible job of cooling the computer, played Valheim, Surgeon Simulator and a little Cooking Simulator and the computer was only warm to the touch. The headphone jack has both internal and external reading so it is able to use a headset with microphone, something which by boyfriend cant do with his laptop. (I believe this means there is a sound card built into this laptop, eliminating the need for an adapter to use your mic and headphones at the same time) Very responsive and quick to load, there is a place to adjust a d edit the colors of the backlights on the keyboard as well with a full color scheme so you can choose the exact color you want. I have a few games downloaded and believe that I wont be needing any extra storage any time soon as I still have 150 of the over 200gb of data left after those downloads, it also comes with a small set of extra screws and a ram upgrade in the package that you can install yourself (if you know how). Overall a very good laptop and worth every penny, wouldn't bother paying the 50 extra dollars for the upgraded space on the other version of this laptop as I dont see the space becoming an issue and if it does there is always the option of an external hardrive. Also comes with charging cord and small soft bag that it fits in(I believe it's for scratch protection).

This laptop has a great build quality and bang for the buck. It will play many games perfectly. League of Legends can be run at medium-high settings and still get 100fps+. But if you're looking to play Call of Duty for instance, don't get your hopes up. I only get 65-70fps on COD Cold War and that's on the lowest settings. So as long as you are okay with that for FPS games, this laptop is still amazing. The only things you need to get for this laptop are 1) Storage (adding 1tb m.2) 2) Ram (16gb) Other than that this laptop is amazing! I love it for when I can't use my rig at home.
