This is a nice open source router. I have 3 wired and 4 wireless connections most of the time with no drops yet. Gigabit wired is nice. It has USB connections for hard drive or printer. Overall nice wireless router for the money. kook

We had a Linksys prior to buying this unit. We have been having issues with cable and decided to get a new router just in case that was the issue. In short, that wasn't the issue, but I am so happy we bought this router. Before when we were on our Lanai with the laptop or tablets we'd have to huddle next to the door to get a good signal and often get cut off. If we were on the computer upstairs we'd often lose the connection and have to go back downstairs near the router. Now we can walk to the back fence and to the neighbors house and never loose a signal. And we can be anywhere in our house...upstairs, the garage, etc. We love it! If you switch to this you will be very happy!

I'm just very very impressed, it never needs a reset, easily handles multiple simultaneous HD streaming and recording (I have a dual TV tuner hooked up to the network). USB storage has a lot of options/features and always works. but the best surprise was ASUS's free dyndns service (I don't know what else to call it) so now I can always access my home network even though my ISP gives me random IP addresses

Asus puts out routers with their base firmware on them, but flashing to the newest version 3 firmware gives you all of the features with DD-WRT with an Asus skin. Router works great, and has excellent range.

It stopped working after two years and one month. Kaput. Warranty time period? Two years. If you want an $90 router that lasts two years buy this. If you don't like wasting your money, don't. Woke up this morning and the unit was off. Unplugged it and replugged it in. Lights flash and it turns itself off. It will not stay on. Tech support is friendly but mostly useless. These were the actually restoration procedures they gave me. With the power supply plugged in hold the teeny, tiny restore button on the back of the unit with a paperclip for 10 seconds. Unplug and continue holding the button for another 3-4 minutes. Do this three times. I told him that has to be a joke. He assured me that this was the procedure. I actually tried it. Ten minutes later I have cramped hands and no WiFi. It's dead and they will do absolutely nothing. Tried so many things to get it running but it's gone. After reading some reviews this morning I've found many people have my same problem with the router dying after about two years. Ask yourself if you want to gamble your $90.
