I wanted a corded phone with an Intercom, Caller-ID/Call-Waiting, and at least 16 One-Button dialing assignments - this phone allows for 32 One-Button assignments.
Although I only plan to use two Intercom extensions - this phone allows for 16 extensions.

The buttons on the speed dial are too easy to press. I unintentionally hit the 911 button twice in setting up the speed dia directory l, and the police came each time. The speed dial directory does not absorb ink, so the names are faint.
Display window is lit all the time and is annoying at night on my night able. I would prefer that the widow light up only for a few seconds when call comes in. Incoming call number does not stay on long enough.
I prefer my old ATT Model 732, which wore out.

We are pleased with these phones for our small office. They work perfectly for our needs and are affordable. We replaced an older model of this phone and we had it many years. We hope to get the same longevity from these.

We bought five of these phones for our small office. A T & T representatives installed them for us. They meet all our needs.
One problem we have experienced is that the time displayed on the screen and associated with the call history changes for no known reason.

Nice small business system, easy to add more phones. Sounds and looks good. It comes in black or black, really not a problem though, still looks good on your desk. No real drawbacks, it's great system.

Multi-line for a single line system

I'm using this multi-line phone with a single line set up in my home. I actually only got it for the size of the digital readout and I need to keep a land line hooked up in case of power failure in our area. When the power goes out, the cordless phones do also. It stores all the incoming #'s in the call history which could be good, but you have to press a button several times to get a red light to go out after every incoming call. A bit of a hassle at first, but you get used to it. For the money, it was a good deal, but a bit of overkill when all I really wanted was a larger digital readout. It's OK overall.

We bought this thinking that we could replace one of our old office phones with this one and we were wrong. I'm assuming it only works if you replace it within the same system.

bought the at&t 1070 from best buy since they said they have support for 30 days to answer any questions. So far I've been hung up on twice, and other phone reps say they don't know what I'm talking about. I actually went to the store, who told me to call the same useless 800 number. At least with Indian support, you can talk to someone- DON'T BUY IF YOU FEEL YOU MAY NEED SUPPORT OR A COMPANY WHO BACKS UP THEIR CLAIMS----

I would recommend this phone for a small business start-up, anywhere from 5-15 person office. Do not get the AT&T 1040 because it does not have caller ID. 1070 is the way to go!

I've bought this phone primarily for business use. The conference and forwarding features are good. If you are looking for a pleasing device on your desk, then the AT&T 1070 is for you!
