    AT&T 99* models...terrible quality

I have bought several of these AT&T 992-993 models for my home office. I need a desk model with a speakerphone and mute button for conference calls. These phones do not last, start off very good, within months phones have problems with volume, speakerphone and buttons. The buttons stick or do not dial properly so often have to redial numbers two or three times. This last one I bought, the modell 993 lasted 40 days. I will never buy these models again!

Great phone for a great price..

I was going to purchase a much more expensive two line phone before I found this one. I'm glad I saved my money because this phone is a gem! Not only is it functional, but it looks great, too! I just tossed a Panasonic two line because people were complaining that they couldn't hear me on it. This phone, the At&T 2 line with Caller ID /Caller ID Waiting, is crystal clear! The speaker phone works great, the display looks great and I love the two line feature. When a line is in use, the red light comes on. When you place someone on hold, the light for the respective line flashes. Very professional looking. I've used all kinds of high end phones (Avaya, Lucent, etc) thoroughout my career, but now that I'm my own boss/ a small business owner, it's important for me to have reliable phone equipment at an affordable price. I can't afford Avaya or the other big names, but I'm just as happy with this phone. If I close my eyes while on a call, I would swear that I was on a high end unit. Get this phone.. You won't be sorry!

    Good quality phone

I love the phone and it is a good value. The phone was easy to set up. I like the large display window but it needs better contrast to see the caller id info. The handset is excellent sound quality but the speakerphone was a bit fuzzy and not clear sound. I get an electronic hum when I have the phone sitting on top of a scanner and right next to my PC. I with the phone had an electronic filter.

    Good value so far...

So far I have very few complaints about this phone. As a full time telecommuter, I rely heavily on my phone to conduct business. I use the speaker phone almost exclusively and can hear clearly and have not had anyone tell me that they couldn't hear me well. Programming the phone is relatively straight forward and it's features are laid out well. I can't comment extensively on it's durability since I have only had it for 2 months but I am going to give it 4 stars based on my experience thus far and taking into consideration others comments. Overall a good value I think and I would recommend it at this time.

Caller ID hard to see - little contrast.

Must hold the phone up to try to read Caller ID, A flashlight helps. Not an easy to use phone if you want to quickly see who is calling. LCD screen backlight helps if the room is dark, but not during daylight hours. Doesn't help at all. With two large windows three feet from phone, and a lamp nearby, I still can't read the Caller ID - and I have excellent vision. I upgraded this phone from the previous version, thinking Caller ID viewing would be better. Wrong! Try two other phones offered by Best Buy: GE30385EE1 or the VTech TL86109. Both have Caller ID screens that are large, tilt, and are easy to read from a distance.

    The best 2-line phone yet

My Panasonic of 8 years started failing (sound quality), so I replaced it with another Panasonic 2-line phone from Best Buy with DEC for $179.99. Starting with the first call, people were telling me the sound quality was terrible when using the speaker phone, which I use often. Lots of breaking up, so the people I was calling couldn't understand what I was saying. I boxed it back up after 1-day and ordered this ATT 933. People are now telling me the sound quality is great, as a matter of fact much better than ever before. I like the headset port on the base, which the Panasonic systems didn't have, but the quality is so good on the speaker phone, that I really don't need a headset. I am very impressed, especially for a phone that is 1/3 the cost of the Panasonic. More expensive isn't always synonymous with better.

Got one of these earlier today for a teleconference for work, and it worked great. It took all of 5 minutes to set it up, including the menu options to set date/time, area codes, a few speed dial numbers, etc. The speaker phone was very loud with great clarity during the conference so I had no issues hearing my associates. Just a great 2 line phone for a home office setup, and cheap.

    Terrific phone!

This is an excellent phone. Easy to use, clear sound, good digital readout. (We had to return the first one we ordered from Amazon because the LCD screen didn't work. We ended up ordering this phone online from Best Buy and doing a store pickup, which is GREAT!). The only complaint I would have is that the cradle rest for the phone to sit in is not deep enough. It is too easy for the phone to get dislodged. Other than that, it is an excellent phone.

Speaker phone works great. It is a very easy-to-use phone. I use it as a home office phone, and I like it much better than any phone I have had at offices I have worked in. The three way calling is extremely easy to use.

this is a great phone for the money...it really is. My one complaint is that the dial buttons seem to stick - no set pattern, various buttons do stick and its annoying! But...a darn good phone for the money...buy it!!!!

I don't have anything too positive or too negative to say about this phone. I always had trouble resetting the line. Whenever I depressed the "hook" for the headset, the line does not reset easily. I had to do it multiple times. My house was struck by lightning recently and this phone just died as a result of electrical surge, I believe. Now I'm shopping for a new phone and I'm not buying this model again.

    KEEP LOOKING - POOR PHONE

Please do NOT waste your money. I bought this phone since there doesn't seem to be many choices for landline phones and I needed this for work. I have had the same problem as other customers where the handset is so light - my phone line is left open often. Not only that, it seems to have a mind of it's own. Sometimes when I am on the headset option, the headset light on the phone will click off. The line is still open and the phone did not hang up, the light will just turn off by itself and I have to hit "Speaker" and then hit "Headset" again to turn it back on.

    My First Business Phone

It's a good phone. I do a lot of dialing and the key pad is effective because it has an indent in the button and it makes for quick dialing. Speaker Phone I use a lot on the first ring, then I pick up. The hang up button in the cradle is very responsive. You can't use and internet phone line cord otherwise it will get a static signal. I switched to the regular black line provided and it sounds good. You can turn your other phone off and have the nice ring tone too!

I have had 2 of these phones in the past year. Around the 6th month, the display stopped working on the first phone and after another 6 months, with the replacement phone, the speaker phone is beginning to cut out and disconnecting me in the middle of calls.

DONT BUY THIS PHONE! Very poor quality and doesnt last long. I had it about a year and the speaker and ringer quit working. I have to usually dial most numbers twice as you have to push the numbers right in the middle and doesnt alow for fast dialing. The three conferencing feature works, I can hear both parties but the other two have a hard time hearing each other. Have people say they have a hard time hearing me. I do like the light on feature when a cal came in while you are away and blinking light to indicate a vioce mail. Also like how you can redial from caller ID log. These benefits are far out weighed buy the negitives. This is the second ATT phone I have purchased and both times disappointed. Have owned several other brands with very good luck. Bottom line is you will be unhappy in the end. You wont get any help from Best Buy if you have a problem as they have a short warranty. WalMart more customer friendly on problems and returns.

I love the product. It is easy to use, allows me to connect a fax machine to line 2 . I can use line 1 an fax at the same time, or use line 2 while I am faxing; can use other line when one is in use.
