I have a moderate hearing loss in my right ear and I was hopeful that these would be helpful in conversations in the car with my family. They did amplify certain things like the turn signal and road noise but they did not help with conversations. People either sounded like they were yelling or my hearing was worse because the device was in my ear. In my opinion, it was a total bust and I returned the device.

An excellent - if somewhat basic - hearing aid

Right off the bat I feel it's important to make clear that over the counter hearing aids like the Atom Pro 2 are not going to deliver the exact same experience you'd get with a prescription device. Hearing loss is complicated and can come in a variety of different forms - and prescribed hearing aids can be tailored to address a wide range of different scenarios and presentations. The Atom Pro 2 takes a much simpler one-size-fits most approach, hoping to cover only the most common form of hearing loss.
Assuming that describes you, I think you might be rather impressed by the value proposition on display here. They're shockingly light weight, offer very good battery life, and come with a very wide range of cushions to allow for a good fit. Figuring out exactly how to seat them in a way that provides decent audio without having them fall out can be a bit of a trick, and there's certainly an adjustment period, but overall they're quite effective at amplifying ambient sound with minimal delay and good quality. While they weren't the greatest fit in my case for all day use (where the problem is more an inability to hear certain frequency ranges on one side) they were nonetheless helpful for intermittent use in cases such as trying to talk with someone in a noisier environment.
There is definitely a bit of a learning period, though, and a few sacrifices have been made for their size. One of the most obvious is the control scheme. Pretty much everything is controlled through a single button that you either tap or hold, which can be somewhat annoying as it means certain common tasks like mode switches can be fairly cumbersome. Additionally each hearing aid is controlled individually - which makes sense but also means you're likely going to be getting used to looking like you're putting both fingers in your ears. I don't know how common an issue this is with OTC hearing aids, but it seems like a bit of a missed opportunity compared to using an app.

In the box are the hearing aids inside of the charging case, charging cord and plug, 2 sets of silicone buds (small, medium, large), cleaning tool, wax trap sticks, and user instruction manual and warranty information. (The instruction manual mentions included wax traps but I didn’t receive those. On one of the sets of silicone buds there were wax traps on the buds.)
First Impression - I really like the charging case. There is a bright light charging indicator and the hearing aids nest properly inside of the case. Also there is a UV light for cleaning on the inside as well.
Disclaimer - I have small ears and my hearing is mild-moderate on the left and moderate-severe on the right. I can still hear without aids but it is very hard for me to understand low conversations and listen to the television at low volumes.
Installation - Installation was a little tricky for me as I have small ears, so I had to grip the aids and then try to push them in. I didn’t like that the volume button is on the top of the hearing aid, as I kept changing the settings when entering the aid into my ear. With more use, I was able to press the button less as I got the aid into my ear but I still press the button at least once.
Sound - The sound is good. I found that the 3rd setting was perfect for me. If you are wearing the aids with small children or animals, beware, the aids pick up all of the sounds in the room. I mainly used the aids to watch television and it was a good experience until someone opens or closes a door. I don’t have small children but I have nephews that visit often and I ended up needing to take them out while they were playing because their sounds and other surrounding sounds were a little overwhelming, even after changing the sound to a lower setting. I would like to mention that I only got feedback once as I learned how to keep the aids from ringing. I was able to wear them in bed and I was surprised that I didn’t get any feedback when laying my head a certain way.
Battery - I have worn the aids for at least 6-8 hours daily and I have lost only one battery light, which is amazing. I have to charge my prescribed aids every 2 days. I also want to mention that one of aids did go out on me (needed to charge) and I don’t recall getting any type of indicator to charge or low battery.
Overall, the only con that I have is where the volume button is located on the aids, otherwise, I would recommend these hearing aids to friends and family.

Many of us who require hearing aids will remember the Yugo. It didn’t cost much, but everything about it screamed cheap. These Audien hearing aids are very inexpensive but, unlike the Yugo, they do not scream cheap.
To understand if a low cost OTC hearing aid will like this work for you, you need to understand what you’ll be getting. There’s no ability to customize it to your hearing profile, no manual adjustments for bass and treble, no connection to your phone. There are just volume and mode settings. And for someone with minor hearing loss and a limited budget, that’s probably enough to help.
The Audien Atom Pro 2 hearing aids appear to be solidly built. The charging case resembles those that come with earbuds, and the hearing aids themselves are well-constructed with high quality materials. The fit and finish is excellent. They fit in the ear canal securely and are reasonably sized. Because they are rechargeable, they are decidedly larger than in-ear canal units that use replaceable batteries, a technical tradeoff that will work for some people, not others. The beige color makes them less noticeable – but only if you have light skin.
The small case holds three additional charges and includes UV sanitizing to clean them after every use (this will not eliminate the need to replace the filter and clean the microphone). Powered by the Audien A2 chip, the Atom Pro 2 has excellent sound quality and no noticeable processing delays. These two things alone make them easier to live with than some units costing twice as much. There are five volume levels, individually adjusted on each hearing aid, and four listening modes that allow you to adjust for different background noise levels.
Any hearing aid in this price range is going to be very different than a high-end, multi-thousand dollar hearing aid set. Still, if you have simple requirements and a limited budget, a low-cost aid like this may fit the bill. And for this price point, the Atom Pro 2 is an excellent choice.

The best basic aids I have tried!

I've tried a number of entry level, Over The Counter (OTC) hearing aids over the years and found most extremely lacking for my particular hearing loss until now. The Audien Atom Pro 2 OTC Hearing Aids are reasonably priced and worked very well for me. The Atom Pro 2 aids are a very simple and basic design. There is no app to install or monitor, no self hearing tests, no Bluetooth, only one button per unit, no setup, no updating.... The simplicity of this design is a great positive for me, aside from playing with the fit and learning the simple controls there is no learning curve, no real setup, these guys are ready to go! There is one button on each hearing aid. The aids are not paired and do not communicate with each other so each one is individually controlled and easily adjusted to the requirement of each ear. The single button on each aid is controlled with either a short touch or a long touch. The short touch makes a "beep" sound. Each short touch advances the volume up one of the 5 preset levels. After reaching the maximum level, another short touch returns to the minimum level, starting over. The default level is 3 out of the 5. The long touch makes a "boop" sound. Each long touch scrolls through the 4 environmental modes. The modes are "Conversation", "Restaurant", "TV" and "Outdoor". The default Conversation Mode works fine for me in most normal situations. The TV mode is quite helpful for me as well, I am aware of hearing consonants that I normally don't hear. The TV mode really helps me understand the British shows we like on public TV. I haven't really needed to use the Outdoor mode other than to briefly see what it is (a bit louder to me). The Restaurant mode has not really helped me in a noisy environment. To me, Restaurant mode just makes everything louder and doesn't seem to filter out the background noise. The reason I first sought hearing aids was to help tune out the background noise so that I could follow conversations in noisy environments like restaurants. To be fair, the several expensive, audiologist provided aids I have used, while providing some filtration, have never given me a result that satisfies my desire to hear/understand well in a noisy environment either. Apparently, I have very small ear canals. I usually have to special order extra small or children's sized domes for my hearing aids. While there is an assortment of dome sizes included, I would be more comfortable in a smaller size. The size of the aids does not fall into the almost invisible category (at least on me). The Atom Pro 2 comes in a compact charging case (really pocket sized, unlike my other rechargeable ones). The charging case also has UV sterilization lights that work to sanitize while the aids are charging. The aids are claimed to last 24 hours per charge. I rarely wear them more than 8 hours so I can't comment. The charging case, as I understand it, will charge the aids as it recharges, the aids should work for up to 24 hours and when depleted be able to be returned to the unplugged charging case for 3 more cycles. This should be great for traveling. Also included are a cleaning brush, wax guard replacements and tool, charging transformer and cable. I review these as affordable, basic, low cost hearing aids. While they do not have the bells and whistles (complications?) of the expensive aids, they work quite well for me and I recommend giving them a try. These are the first basic aids I have tried that I actually find useful.

The Right Choice for your Hearing.

Hearing loss (even partial loss) should not be as stressful as it used to be many years ago. I am so thankful that nowadays there are so many options out there to bring you back to enjoying your life, family and friends again.
I was thankful enough to be introduced to Audien Atom Pro 2 OTC Hearing Aids. These hearing aids definitely made my life easier and I do not have to miss out on any social event or my kid's activities.
Let me share a few of my findings after I was able to experience these hearing aids for a few weeks now.
1. The Fit - To me one of the most important things about any hearing aids are the right fit and since most of us will be wearing these for a prolonged time, comfortable fit in my ears is a MUST! These Audien Atom Pro 2 aids felt just right the minute I put them on. The silicon ear fittings are soft enough to hold it in like any ear phone. Now, since the anatomy of each person's ear is different and individual, your results may vary, however I think the design of these aids have been perfected over time.
2. Sound Quality - I have no complaints here at all, with 5 levels of volume control and noise cancelation, that is all I needed. The sound is crystal clear! If you are in a noisy environment, the hearing mode is adjusted flawlessly (speech amplification in such environments worked great for me as well).
3. Battery Life - easily rechargeable, the aids last a long time, I have never run into a situation where I needed more battery life during the day. Before I go to bed, I put them back in the charging cradle and I am all set for the next day. Nice feature of the charging cradle is UV (ultraviolet) cleaning sanitation built into it, it may sound gimmicky but still a nice thing to have.
4. Affordable! I was going to put it as my number one point originally, but I know it is extremely important for many people to know that these Audien Atom Pro 2 Aids are extremely competitive and will not rob your bank! I would advise anyone looking for hearing aids now to give this brand a try (you can thank me later!)
I have been pretty pleased with these aids, its design and comfort and will look forward to other generations and improvements of the aids.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like using these or not because I am pretty particular about my ears. It comes from having severe psoriasis & eczema which actually is in my ears too (super weird, I know). And so with that my ears can get raw, chafed & hurt-like a lot. But these caused me no issues at all.
Initial Unboxing & Setup
I am a smaller person & so I had to switch up to the smallest tips but they fit really well. I had everything done and was using the hearing aids within a few minutes. Super easy. I wish everything was this easy.

First Impressions
I, like one of my sons, have cholesteatomas & bone loss which will one day leaving me completely deaf. I also have ADHD & suffer from an auditory processing disorder where listening to music, which I absolutely love to do, is difficult because I cannot understand what they are saying. It also correlates to until I am used to how someone’s voice sounds, their rhythm of speech, etc. I cannot truly understand what they are saying until I am used to hearing them speak. That means any time we are watching something on the TV I have to have the subtitles on. These hearing aids didn’t fully resolve this issue for me, however, what it did do was allow me to more easily focus on the conversation/thing I was trying to hear and it made listening to my family, music, movies, and the TV in general just insanely easier. Huge & amazing plus for me!
Rating: 5/5
Charging
Charging is a breeze with the included cabling. Also, I found that I was able to use the hearing aids for 3 days without having to charge them again-sweet!
Rating: 5/5
Fit
These fit insanely well & people can’t even tell I am wearing them, and for someone that is younger, like I am, this is a huge plus. That’s 5 stars for me!
Rating: 5/5
Cleaning
The cleaning is super easy because the case takes care of it for you-woohoo! That said with my issues I mentioned previously I have to clean them with some cotton swabs because my skin oozes but it’s super easy.
Rating: 5/5
Conclusion
I absolutely love these hearing aids. I am going to be looking at getting my son a pair of these. Although he will probably want a pair that has Bluetooth so he can connect it to his phone, gaming consoles & gaming computer too.

Great comfort, loud

My biggest issue hearing is tinnitus. This stems from military life. I find having background noise lessens the severity. I decided to try these hearing aids out to see if they could help with my hearing in any way. There are just certain tones I can not hear.
These aids are very comfortable. Finding the right ear cup was not an issue. The charger has built in blue light for disinfecting the earbuds. Controls make perfect sense. Single tap of the button increases the volume. Long tap changes the usage from conversation, to TV, to crowded area, etc.
The volume ranges from 1 to 5, with the default being 3. I found the default was just too loud for my taste. So I went with volume 1.
They say to wear them for an hour to two hours a day for the first week, then gradually increase. It takes time to get use to hearing the new sounds. For me, I have had them about 1 week. They seem to be too loud for my taste, even at volume level 1.
As an example, I went to go in our safe. It is the old fashioned with a knob and handle. I could hear the tumblers as I turned the dial. I did not need to look at the safe to open it as I heard when the tumblers fell. I think that is just hearing a little too much.
A second example is hearing my own voice when I speak. When I use a headset for work, I need to keep one ear out so I don't hear my voice in my head as I speak. I feel like I am in a tunnel. I get that same feeling when using these aids.
Both issues I had were more because I can probably hear better than what these are designed for. Someone needing the hearing aid, these will be fantastic for them. I am just not quite there yet.
For now, I will deal with my hearing until it gets to the point I really need the aid to hear. At least I can still use the "I didn't hear you" excuse to get out of jams when my wife asked me to do something and I forgot. :D

Great Hearing Support and Easy to Use

I was ecstatic to find out the Aiden Atom Pro 2 Hearing aids do not require an app to use. I simply charged them, selected the correct ear bud (the soft rubber tip that goes in your ear) for my ears and put them in my ears. Could not have been easier! The package contains five ear buds in varying sizes. I participated in a week long presentation for work in a good sized conference room and at least 30 people. I was very pleasantly surprised with hearing support the Atom Pro 2 hearing aids delivered. I didn’t have to ask anyone to repeat their question! These hearing aids are so simple, it’s genius. They have four separate modes; Conversation, Restaurant, TV and Outdoor. I used the Conversation mode during the presentation. At the hotel I used the TV mode and was able to keep the TV at half the volume I would have set it at without the Aiden Hearing aids. In addition to the TV being set at a lower volume I hear the words clearly with the hearing aids. If the hearing aids are out of their carrying case they are on. Easy! One button to push to change volume. Same button held a few seconds longer changes mode. Easy!
A few additional points:
• The charging case also disinfects!
• Included accessories are replacement wax guards and cleaning brush
• The instructions are well written, thorough and helpful
• No app
With other hearing aids that have an app I would always get a phone call in the middle of an important meeting. What a distraction. The Aiden Atom Pro 2 hearing aids are not connected to the app so I don’t have to worry about inappropriate distractions from my phone.
The website allows you to order accessories. For me, an extra charging case is great so I can keep it my computer bag. Definitely recommend these Aiden Atom Pro 2 hearing aids.

I'm not quite sure that the Audien Atom Pro 2 OTC Hearing aids are for me. I do like the overall size of the aids (small and discreet), and it was nice that they came fully charged -- I could get right to my test drive.
What I have found from the Pro 2s is that in the lowest volume setting, theyre too loud for me. Maybe that's just something I need to get used to. Audien mentions in their literature, that there's a 'getting used to' period and that I need to give my brain time to adjust. Hmm. I'm willing to give it a go over the next (suggested) 3 weeks, increasing the hours of use per day. We shall see.
Getting down to specifics, Audien says that these aids aren't necessarily designed to be only Left or Right. They also encourage the user to try different angles. Honestly, I found this a bit frustrating. I know we each have differences in our physical make-up, but there are certain things we all have in common -- like the general angle of the left and right ear canals. But I played around until I was able to find the position with the least feedback.
The position of the volume control makes it so that as you're installing the bud into your ear canal, you also change the volume. This can be frustrating, as well.
The charging case and included cable and wall charger is a nice feature. The set also comes with extra silicone 'domes' for a custom fit...but they're not labeled! You almost need a ruler to tell one size from the other!
Like I said, it's going take me some time, so the jury's still out on this one. For the cost, it's probably worth the try. Just keep an eye on your final return date, if you know what I mean.

A Great Pair of Hearing Aids

Audien Hearing's Atom Pro 2 Rechargeable In-Ear Hearing Aids are nicely designed and seem very well constructed. When they arrived, the instructions highly suggested a 3-4 week adjustment period to get used to them as follows:
Week 1 Wear the Audien Atom Pro 2 hearing aids 1-2 hours daily
Week 2 Wear the Audien Atom Pro 2 hearing Aids 3-4 hours daily
Week 3 Wear the Audien Atom Pro 2 hearing Aids 6+ hours daily
By the 3rd to 4th week your ears should have adjusted to hearing sound coming to them through the two built-in microphones and by trying different settings, you should have been able to find your comfort level using and hearing with the Atom Pro 2s.
The Audien Atom Pro 2 In-Ear Flesh-Toned Hearing Aids come with:
1 pair of in-ear hearing aids
2 pair of small, medium and large size ear domes (6 in addition to the ones that come installed with the hearing aids
1 White charging and cleaning case
1 USB-C charging cord
1 Power wall adapter
1 Was guard replacement tool and was cleaner
1 Cleaning brush
24 Hour battery life
2 In-ear microphones
45-Day trial period
A-2 Sound chip
Lifetime Support
To increase or decrease the sound volume on the Atom Pro 2's, simply press the button on each hearing aid 1-5 pushes until you find a sound level you like. When touching the hearing aids while they are in your ears, you may experience feedback/screeching sounds. This normal. Once you have adjusted them and adapted to them, you should not hear any feedback. After my adapting to the Atom Pro 2's, I am really beginning to enjoy wearing them. They fit well, enhance my hearing greatly and seem to well designed and built.

Was a bit surprised by the simplicity and ease of use. As soon as volume and mode were set properly it was a great improvement. While the ear buds it came with were acceptable, taking the time to refit with a slightly smaller size gave a better fit and nearly eliminated any discomfort. Overall, quite impressive and a great improvement.

Solid OTC Hearing aids

This review is on Audien Hearing - Audien Atom Pro 2 OTC Hearing Aids. I am now 50. I can tell my hearing isn't as good as it was when I was younger. It isn't bad though. I just have a little trouble in areas like restaurants with music playing. I can hear the music fine but if someone isn't talking loud enough I can't understand some words. So I knew it was time to get a little help. I love the option that I don't have to go to a doctor to get hearing aids because I don't think I am at that level yet. These come with everything you need. They are easy to use. I just pulled them out of the case and put them in. The case is compact and feels solid. The case also has UV built in. There are five volume levels and 4 listening modes (Conversation, Restaurant, TV and Outdoor). One press of the button on the aid will cycle the volume. Long press for 3 seconds will change the mode. It is that easy. So this is my first experience with hearing aids. Nothing to compare them to. I know I like the size. I can wear them for hours and they don't come out or bother me. I can hear things different than before. I can hear a computer fan running without them but with them in it sounds different. Not a bad sound but I would say more like I was right next to it. I can hear my feet scrape across the floor. When I touch paper it sounds like I am touching sandpaper. So I can say this is exactly what I was looking for without having to get a $3000 pair.

An excellent way to restore hearing

The - Audien Atom Pro 2 Hearing Aids are simple-to-use symmetrical hearing aids. No Bluetooth application is needed to use these hearing aids. They are the same so that you can use either hearing aid in either ear. There are five volume levels and four modes (Conversation, Restaurant, TV, and Outdoors). Each hearing aid has a button on the end, and each short press cycles to the next volume level. One to five beeps will tell you what volume level you are at. If you press for three seconds, then you will hear a low-tone bloop, letting you cycle through the modes. The hearing aids are stored in a compact case that doubles as a charger and UV light sanitizer. When the case is connected to power, UV light will sanitize the hearing aids for five minutes. Tools to clean the hearing aids are also included. Each hearing aid has a wax guard with tools to change them monthly or as needed.
The manufacturer recommends that you take three weeks to adjust to the hearing aids. During week one, wear them for 1 – 2 hours a day to allow you to adjust the fit and get used to processing the new sounds. In week two, wear the hearing aids for 3 – 4 hours a day. And in Week 3, wear them for 6+ hours a day.
I have found that these hearing aids have opened up more sounds for me. My communication is better because I can more clearly hear who I am with. I have a much wider range of hearing. I think that this is an excellent product to enhance your hearing.

The Audian Atom Pro 2 is a compact OTC hearing aid. It comes with 6 pairs of ear domes to customize and get the correct fit for your ear. After getting the best fit for you, and once inserting in your ear, it is very unobtrusive. Once charged, battery life lasts up to 24 hours, however, I am too old to test the 24 hr limit. BUT the "charging/carrying" case is also a power bank that gives up to 3 additional charges! Not only does the carrying case has extra charges, it also has a UV light for cleaning and killing bacteria. Unfortunately, it does not have Bluetooth.
The adjustment button is decently sized for access, it works with short presses and long presses. Short press to adjust the volume/amplification, there are 5 levels. Long press to adjust the 4 modes. The Audian Atom Pro 2 works well for low to moderate hearing loss for an OTC hearing aid. It does have a neat little antenna looking stalk. However, it is not an antenna, but it is used to assist in removing the hearing aid. Once it is tuned/customized for you, it works really well. The Audian Atom Pro 2 is a good value compared to the cost of a prescription hearing aid.
I like the unobtrusive size, customizability, and the UV charging case!
