Audio Technica makes on the finest piece of headphones M20X, 30X, 40X, 50X etc.to name a few. But this specific Noise Canceling headphones suck big time. Instead buy 40X - biggest bang for the buck.

I would give them 5 stars, but the QC25 from BOSE are much quieter. However, the QC25 headsets cost twice as much, are easier to accidentally break and, from the customer's reviews, have a shorter lifespan. I’ve had two ATH-ANC7B bought at Radio Shack for over four years; and they are still like new! They are sturdy, lightweight, and do a good job.

These do an excellent job of removing background noise - especially useful for long flights, and quite comfortable. What is great is that these use a AAA battery instead of Lithium ion (no overheating or fire hazard). Charge lasts a long time, but if the battery dies, they can still be used without noise canceling.
