Gave this to my wife for Mother’s Day and she loves remembering/looking at family pictures when she’s having a tough day at work or just playing looking at it. The clarity, contrast and color produces great vivid pictures. Definitely recommend.

The Aura Carver frame has a nice finish and look with a very nice display. The intelligent pairing is a nice feature because even if you have pictures from different times, it will still pair them up on the split screen based on similarities in the photos. set up is very easy, just install the app, pair and go. You can either dump photos directly into the app, or link to google photos the scheduler is a nice touch so that its not running all night while noone's awake. No need to have a bright screen lighting up a dark room for no reason. also, its convenient to add members to the frame account so anyone can add pictures from their devices. you don't need one central device. the touch bar on top is handy but a touch screen may have been nicer and allowed for more usability. While there are very nice features with this frame, there are more than a few cons with it. The connector is a big one. Instead of using USB-C or even microUSB, it opts for proprietary connector. Everyone has so many chargers and cables laying around this seems unnecessary. The design of the frame is such that you an also only keep it in landscape mode. This is silly since nowadays most pictures taken with phones tend to be in portrait. variable orientation would have been nice. Ideally it'd have had a flat back with a foldout stand so you'd have the ability to wall mount. Also, other frames where you load pictures up onto internal storage or USB/microSD, this is cloud based ONLY, so if you lose internet you lose pictures. To expand on that, you can only use google photos or the Aura app for pictures. There are many other widely used cloud services that would have been nice to have support for; Amazon photos, dropbox, Box, etc Finally the price, it commands quite a price tag. For less, you can get something a smart display that can not only show pictures, but also do many other functions, or even just get a tablet on a nice stand. These can achieve the same and more for similar cost. It is hard to justify this kind of sticker for what is essentially a wifi monitor with all of the limitations noted above.

The Aura Digital Photo Frame is steps above your traditional photo frame in many ways. From the moment I opened the package it was shipped it, I was immediately impressed by the beautiful, present-like display box they chose, and I could already tell this was a quality product. Before opening the box, there is a unique QR code you can scan to pre-load photos, in the event you are intending to give the frame as a gift. This means you never have to even open the unit or turn it on to prepare it for a loved one. Amazingly thoughtful design! On top of that, owners of the Aura can share a link to allow photos to be added anytime, and the frame can be double tapped to “love” a photo, which then informs the sender of that photo. It’s the ultimate way to keep grandma and grandpa updated with photos of the kids, never needing to worry about being physically close to the frame in order to add more photos. The Aura app supports multiple frames, and each frame supports multiple users. This means you and your siblings could all individually share photos to the same frame for your parents or grandparents to view, and everything is updated instantly when a new photo is added in the app. The frame stands in landscape only, with no portrait display option. Instead, it displays portrait photos side by side. The photos, or even videos display in slideshow fashion, and the duration of each photo displayed can be changed in the app. I think mine defaulted to 10 minutes. On the frame itself, there is a Touch Bar along the top of the frame, which you can use you tap or swipe to change frame settings, switch between photos, or provide feedback “like” a photo. This provides an unobtrusive way to interact with the frame without ugly buttons being hidden on the device. Trying to navigate settings using the Touch Bar was the only somewhat difficult usage I encountered, but since the settings can be altered in the app itself, there’s not really a need to try and control the settings on the frame. I really like being able to swipe to change photos, and it’s very satisfying and natural. My daughter came into my home office and saw the frame setup, and spent about 5 minutes swiping through all the photos on the frame. While this is an amazing gift, I’m excited to keep this frame for myself. I added my wife as a user of the frame so she can add photos of the kids anytime she wants, and I plan to take this to my physical office when the world returns back to normal. Overall, I would highly recommend this as a gift or for personal use. It’s definitely a premium product, but the design is intelligent and worth investing in if you can.

Amazing & Beautiful Wifi Picture Frame !

After getting one of these for a grandparent for their birthday, my wife had to have one! This is probably the easiest wifi sharing frame/app that I have had experience with. I have some friends who have different ones and after setting this up, I think this is the most simple and the features are very functional and easy. Setup was simple and quick. You download the app, plug in the frame and then it discovers your frame via Bluetooth and then you add it to your wifi with your wifi password and you are done! Name your frame and you’re ready to load pics. It then takes you to their apps view of your pictures on your phone. You can select one or as many as you want at a time. Once you load your pics, you can invite others via email or phone number for a text invite. Once they setup their password, they can begin loading pics as well. The app will also show you who added which pictures, you can add reactions or comments to them on the app. Additional options allow for timing to be set from 15 seconds all the way to 24 hours in which individual photos will be displayed. You can shuffle photos or have them displayed in chronological order. It also features intelligent pairing which takes pictures in vertical alignment and pairs them with others. It seems to be getting better at the pairing as it learns from it. It’s really interesting to see the pairs pop up! You can even use your phone to “remote control the frame” by adding/removing/selecting photos. The top touch bar is a bit sensitive but it allows you to scroll backwards or forwards in the photos as well as turning the unit off and on and removing photos. It is beautiful as well. It’s 10.1 inches, has a long quality cord and is designed to sit without having a stand. It’s gravel grey in color and it also has a nice rough texture to it that you don’t even notice but it makes it feel more solid. I highly recommend this, I look forward to having my kids send lots of pics to it and even more hopeful that before long, they will send pics of grandkids!

    Great for sharing memories

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

    >> Overview The Aura Carver Luxe Digital Photo Frame is a perfect device to share your memories with your loved ones and your loved ones to share memories with you. It works like this, if you own the device, you can share it with your friends and family by extending invitations, upon accepting them, they can add pictures which then will show up on your Digital Photo Frame at home (!). You will get notifications that they added pictures and can decide which ones stay or not; although I would say you’d usually trust the judgement of the people you shared the device with (anyways, you’ll have full control of the device and can remove their pictures if desired). All parties involved in the sharing can do it only through the Aura App, which seems to give some sense of extra security. Nevertheless, there is always the fear of someone hacking the accounts and photo bombing your device with undesired photos (highly unlikely but possible). - Pros: easy to invite friends and family to share images, configurable. - Cons: all photos go through the Aura servers, not too portable (plugged). >> Setup and Configuration To configure, I downloaded the Aura App from the App Store, created my Aura account and connected to WiFi. With that, I was then able to add the device by first connecting to it through Bluetooth, once connected, the WiFi is configured automatically on the Aura Photo Digital Frame and the device is ready to talk to the Aura Servers. It sounds easy, but be aware that it might take a little long to connect through Bluetooth as it happened to me (I was about to give up at some point). Fortunately, with a little patience, all was promptly configured. The first time I used the device, it took a little longer than expected to have photos available on Digital Frame; however, it is not taking that long anymore. The Frame has useful options. You can set up the slideshow order, time each picture is to be displayed. You can schedule when the Frame is to be on, or just rely on whether there is light or not for the device to be on/off (the latter I find meaningful). It is versatile enough as a Digital Photo Frame, there doesn’t really need to be much more functionality (well perhaps some effects/actions on specific pictures you choose). In addition, it automatically updates the software when needed. My Aura Photo Frame updated already a couple of times these few days I’ve been using it, this doesn’t bother me as long as the device is workable after the update. >> Touch Bar Panel There is a Touch Bar Panel on top of the frame that can give you some level of control on the device. You can touch it and see some information about the photo being displayed. You can swipe and move through the photos, like in a photo album (although in sequential order), and also bring up options to Remove the picture and turn the device off. This provides the closest resemblance to a real photo album, it feels very nice to hold the device in my hands and go through the different pictures at my desired pace. >> Connectivity Although it has Bluetooth connectivity, as far as I can tell, it only works for setting the WiFi the Aura Digital Photo Frame will connect to. I think this to be a downside of this wonderful device as sometimes I’d prefer to use it “locally” connected and not going through the Aura servers. >> Sharing photos I am a person that does care a lot about privacy and security and doesn’t like to store personal data, especially photos, outside the usual Cloud Services I rely on. I made one exception with the Aura Digital Photo Frame, I am fine with having my pictures and the ones from my loved ones to go through the Aura Servers, as the end result is just fantastic, I can see what my loved ones want to share on a device that resembles a real photo album. Imagine sharing this with your loved ones living in other countries for example, just amazing. I plan on gifting one for my parents who live overseas, they prefer printed pictures and I am sure they’d love this device. One thing to take note is that Landscape pictures display better on this device. If you have two Portrait pictures, then the Digital Photo Frame will show two pictures at once (sometimes not desired, but the device has some smart pairing capability). As a result, let the people now you’d prefer photos in Landscape form.

Sweet picture frame in an elegant design

These seem to have been timed perfectly, especially considering everyone’s free photo storage from a popular provider has recently been removed. Or at least that’s what I first believed. Aura’s unlimited storage works a little differently than how I believed it would. It operates like a one-way street, or is designed so that you can give it your memories but not retrieve them. You still retain full control over them and have the ability to delete them whenever you’d like. You just have no means of pulling any back out from it in case your original was destroy. I can live with it however, it’s most likely designed this way to prevent abuse. The frame itself has an interesting and unique feel to it. Almost like a clay molding where the surface of the frame is mildly rough, like 400 grit sandpaper. Along the edge of the frame there’s a series of groves that add to it’s uniqueness. The frame, through the app, also conveniently allows sharing of an album with another user. Either a local user or a distant relative. Anytime photos added to that album, whether from your account or your user, will end up flowing into your picture frame. However, one of the most concerning things surrounding the Aura Frames was where or who handled my photos. I couldn’t find details about that in the product description. After connecting it to my WiFi I was able to browse the services it communicated with. The main 3 that I could pick out was Google (presumably for Google Photos/ Assistant integration), a New York NTP server (where your gadgets grab the date and time), and AWS. AWS was coming up 8 out of 10 times which meant this is where your photos are stored.

Great digital frame with some limits

This Aura Carver Luxe is a well conceived digital photo frame with some limitations. The frame looks vibrant and bright and the setup is very easy using the app. You can load photos from your phone and they are then transferred to your frame, with a pit stop at Aura’s AWS servers. Pictures aren’t stored locally, my guess is they are just cached in memory and streamed in and out of AWS. I also really like how small the power connector and wall plug are. The cable is also thin and braided which makes it easy to conceal and fish through drywall if you want a total stealth conceal. Mounting hardware would be nice but a floating shelf would work too. Aura’s FAQs state they are high on security, but all these tech companies say that until they have a breach. Needless to say, privacy can be a concern here so don’t use this if you’re at all concerned about a potential data breach. Another limitation of this frame is it is landscape mode only. You can load portrait photos in with pillar boxes on the sides, but Aura has a nice feature where they will smart pair two portraits at the same time so there’s no dead space. The app itself also allows you some customization for a photo, you can rotate the photo (but still displayed landscape) or crop/center to adjust what’s in frame. The frame itself is also not that impressive, it’s a modern look which some may like but I would’ve preferred maybe a wood veneer option. The frame is just hard plastic but to be fair you don’t really focus on it at all as the photo/screen quality is excellent and always the focal point. This frame also has the ability to play sound and videos which is somewhat interesting, although videos seem to play at around 10fps. The last minor annoyance was the screen will automatically go into sleep mode in dark light situations. This is kind of annoying because we have the frame on our mantle in the family room and now that it’s fall and the sun sets sooner, the frame is off when we are spending time in the family room. This can be worked around by setting active hours, which I set to 7am to 12am. Overall I really like this frame but the limitations above should be known before you purchase. I also think it is a little too close to the price of some of the more expensive but also more robust options from competitors.

    Reasonably sized "live" photo frame.

Aura - Carver Luxe 10.1'' LCD Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame - Gravel Summary: Reasonably sized "live" photo frame. Pros: * Sturdy. The frame itself is the stand. The stand is sturdy and won't tip over easily. * Display. The display is nice and shows images well. * Controls. This frame has touch controls running along the top of the frame. They allow for quick access to common functions like advancing a photo, viewing the photo metadata, or removing the photo from the display library. * Cloud Storage. The Aura uploads photos you select into their proprietary cloud. This means that an internet connection is required to send new photos to your device, but this also means you can add photos from nearly any device via the app OR a browser. * Fabric Cord. The fabric-covered cord feels fancy and luxurious. Too bad no one will see it. Cons: * Orientation Locked. Since the frame itself is the stand, you're locked into landscape or portrait depending on the model you purchased. Not good. * Proprietary Cable. The power cable is yet another proprietary one. Why not just make it USB-C so that if the provided one becomes damaged it is much easier to replace. The fabric-covered cord is neat but wasted. Instead of focusing on the material, they could have focused on the function such as a mag-safe type connector. Imagine the cord getting snagged on something that is moving by. The cord quickly disconnects. Done, no damage. * Buggy App. The iOS version of the app is buggy. Sometimes I got black screens at odd points in the setup. I had to try to set the device up a few times before things worked. NFC Bluetooth is a nice touch, too bad it didn't work as well as expected. * Internet Required. No internet? No pictures. * Photo Arrangement. This may be a user error, but as far as I can tell - the frame decides how photos are arranged on the screen based on some criteria. My guess is a combination of resolution and orientation. Either way, nearly all pictures I tested with appear split-screen and unrelated. This makes for less of a picture frame viewing experience and more of a slide show kind of experience. * Video Playback. Videos will play back only once. If you have the frameset to display an image for 10 minutes, then you have to be present when a video is displayed because once it is done, it's done. It won't replay - that's a bummer especially for some video content. Imagine a looping video of your baby giggling versus a single playback followed by 9 minutes and 55 seconds of a static picture. Equally lovely, I'm sure, but a miss in my opinion. * Cloud Storage. The frame only supports its proprietary cloud or Google Photos. I don't use Google for anything personal. This means I have to use their proprietary cloud. Why not DropBox or OneDrive? Huge miss here and it really limits just how often I'll interact with this device as a result. * Frame Material. Last but not least, the frame material is weird. The texture is like embossed charcoal or a textured chalkboard. It is okay to look at, but I don't like the way it feels. I am assuming "gravel" was meant to describe something, but it certainly didn't look, color, or texture. Use: My intention was to use this live photo frame alongside others (such as my NixPlays), but it is too cumbersome to interact with despite the controls and the app. I would like to just upload photos and not worry about the internet or Google Photos. As a result, this will be used to display a select few curated photos for my office desk. Ones where I won't have to worry about rotation as much or be irked by the random pairings of split-screen photos. Note: I would not recommend this frame over competing solutions given its price point and capabilities.

At first glance, this seems like most digital picture frames- you download the app, select the pictures you want, plug it and presto- your pictures start scrolling through. The frame itself is well made and looks stylish. This may seem odd, but I was impressed with the box- it makes a great gift presentation. The app has great functions that allow you to select how long the pause is between changing to the next photo (from 15 seconds to 24 hours so quite a range!. You can have the pictures display randomly or chronologically, it will tell you the location of the photo by touching the top of the frame. It handles vertical and horizontal pictures nicely. Sometimes vertical pictures are displayed separately, and other times they are put two side by side. BUT the best part! Through the app, you can invite family members from ANYWHERE to upload photos from their location and the pictures will display on the frame! Think about grandma being able to see new pictures from her children and grandchildren on the frame! They could constantly be changing and updating family photos! I am already planning to get another frame for my 84-year-old mother so that my brothers and their families who live across the US can upload pictures for her and share what's happening in their lives. I have not seen that function in a digital frame before. Awesome way to keep in touch with family from all over!

I love this digital photo frame. Connection to WiFi is easy with the Aura App, and uploading photos is simple. Just press "add photos" and select what you want to add from your device. The display is excellent; photos look really sharp and the colors are very rich and vibrant. The interesting feature, which I'm excited to try, is that you can link photo frames and add photos to all the frames anywhere. My parents are always asking me for pictures of the kids, so I think this would be a perfect way for me to share photos with them. I can already cross one Christmas gift off my list! The only downside to this frame is that it doesn't seem to support any cloud services except for Google. I use Amazon, and not Google, so I can't add photos from the cloud. I have to download the photos I want to add to my phone, and then add. Hopefully over time Aura adds functionality to connect other cloud services.

Innovative Ability to Review Memories October 15, 2021 Posted by: ERN52 from Westmoreland County PA Aura - Carver Luxe 10.1'' LCD Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame I've had photo frames but the photo frames of years past do not come compare to this digital photo frame. After opening the package the first step in utilizing this product is to plugging the device to power and and connecting it to the internet through the router by identifying the network name. The app searches for potential networks. Connect to the desired network enter the password and when that is complete, you are then ready to begin the process of loading pictures that can be displayed through the app. My wife is a talented amateur photographer that takes pictures often, sometimes daily. Many of her pictures are stores on a tablet or pc. This picture frame will give her the ability to enjoy her pictures once they are uploaded to the device. I am not sure of how all the technical functions work and I do have a more exploring to do. The pictures to be displayed can come from a phone, tablet or computer Both iOS and Android have aps that interface with the picture frame. Within the app is the ability to upload pictures from the phone or tablet right to the frame. This process works very efficiently. I was also able to load pictures from my Windows computer - a fairly simple process as uploading the pictures to the Web Site similar to uploading to YouTube. In effect, whatever electronic device you store digital pictures on, can accept them through Wifi or Bluetooth. The display itself is a 10" inch screen. The pictures are displayed very well. The frame changes pictures every 10 minutes or so but you can manually change the picture on the screen or from your IOS device. The product claims that you can upload an unlimited amount of pictures so they must be stored on their computers. Landscape pictures fill the entire screen while pictures in portrait mode are paired. You have the option to download a picture stored by the frame onto your phone or tablet. One of the nice features you can give access to the frame through the phone app. Families separated by distance as well as family members in the same home can share the joy of sharing memories. The device has limited ability to show short movie clips as well. Considering everything, this frame is a great addition to our home. I have only had possession of it for a few days and I will be exploring the possibilities with my wife. It will take some to organize the pictures and I am not sure how that is done yet. I really appreciate the potential that product has. We have a number of hard drives that store the pictures that we have taken over the years. Its cumbersome to look at the sheer number of pictures. But, with this device we can pick and choose or add in bulk and enjoy the memories we have in pictures over the last 30 years. Yes, if you have an abundance of pictures that you would like to display in a fairly simple manner, this device is for you. If you want to share pictures with friends and family this device is for you. I highly recommend this product.

My sister and I got this for my mom for her 75th birthday. I have never seen her so excited over a gift in my life. My sister did a lot of research on these frames and this really seemed the best for our family and most user friendly with me being across the country from my mom. Good quality display and intuitive features. All these frames seem way too overpriced for me, but it turned out to be a great gift and way worth it in the end. And the price of this one is comparable to the others. She says she spends half her time watching it to make sure she doesn't miss a picture, lol.

I am an amateur photographer who wants to display some of my best work. I thought having the new Aura - Carver Luxe 10.1'' LCD Wi-Fi Digital Frame would be a great way to display them. Taking the frame out of the box, I found that the frame does not take a SD card the way I was hoping. No, you have to download the Aura app on your phone (if supported). Then, you have to turn on Bluetooth and WiFi, connect your phone to the device, then connect the device through the app to your WiFi. I ran into three problems in setup. First, it took over a half an hour and multiple attempts to get the app to find the device, even though I was right next to it. Second, once it did find it, I couldn't connect the frame to my WiFi. I found that the frame only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi protocols. My Eero Pro router is 5.0 GHz. Third, even when I put my Eero Pro in 2.4GHz Legacy Mode, the frame would not connect. Since I am not about to slow my whole Mesh WiFi system down to 2.4GHz permanently and the frame does not have the ability to accept a SD Card, this handsome looking frame is a brick to me. I did try one more time to see if I could get this frame app to function for me. I put my Android phone on WiFi Hotspot and tried to connect it. The frame app could not detect that signal and would not allow me to login. I only suggest this frame, if you have a WiFi router that supports 2.4GHz signals. Then, I wish you luck on your connections.

Going on purchase number 5 now... After seeing this being gifted to a friend. We decided to get one for our friends who's getting married. Since most of our friends are getting married this year. We were buying more and secretly setting it up for them before gifting it to them. Aura has seriously done something right with this digital frame. In the past, it was a pain to get pictures into the frame. The quality of the screen wasn't that great; there weren't many features and controls. Reasons why you should buy an Aura? Quality is 5/5, including the screen. Functionality and features are 5/5 - Not only can you remotely control the frame, you could also set times to turn it on and off during the day, play short videos, have volume, and it's smart enough to put two portrait photos next to each other to save space.

Going on purchase number 5 now... After seeing this being gifted to a friend. We decided to get one for our friends who's getting married. Since most of our friends are getting married this year. Initially bought this as a gift and loved it so much that I got one for myself as well as my mother. Dad will talk about how great it is all the time and I love the convenience of adding pictures on the go
