Does what it’s supposed to do. Easy setup and iOS app. Using it for my teenagers car. Works great

This is my 3rd purchased adapter from Automatic and it's the best one yet. The Pro adds a cellular radio to the GPS tracker in the previous generation. This means you no longer need to maintain a connection to your phone while you drive. It also means you can track your car when others drive it (i.e. repair shop, children, etc). All other information is also still available so you can improve your driving habits with the audio feedback and scoreboard in the app. On the web site there are some cool tools which let you play around with the car data in different ways. Overall, it's a great tool with no monthly fees that works better than advertised!

I bought this to monitor the usage and location of a car I rented out on Turo. It was comforting to know that I could find the car if someone ever abandoned it or was in an accident. I found myself wishing to it would give me more specific information about how the vehicle was being used. It tells you the averages of such topics as acceleration and braking but doesn't tell you the approximate speed of the vehicle at any given moment. In my opinion this is a big flaw.

Once installed and set up, I was able to see the info of when and where your vehicle was started and parked, areas/miles travelled, mpg info, fuel costs, and a plethora of other info. Great for tracking your vehicles location, business expensing, and teenage drivers. The only feature that's missing is realtime vehicle data such as fuel/air ratio, fuel efficiency, acceleration/braking data, and a couple others but those shouldn't be deal breakers as there are compatible apps available to purchase with these features.

I purchased the Automatic Pro to help my aging father-in-law if he makes wrong turn and gets lost. He calls us and we tell him how to get home or go pick him up. The device Came with no instructions. They simply said download the app and go. I did. THANK YOU. The app was very easy to follow. It had me create an account. Then type in the S/N on the device. Plug it in. It self updated via Bluetooth when plugged in. I finalized the setup and it was up and working. I tested it on a few errands. It worked flawlessly. I read many of the complaints people had and they seemed to have been fixed or simply do apply to my uses. It includes at least 5 years of tracking service. This may go longer but they had to put a number on the timeline. Great product.

Very handy in tracking a vehicle, but I wish they offered discounts for multiple units and the ability to see all simultaneously in the app.

I got this because my car had codes I wanted to decode. Unfortunately, the set up process wiped the codes so it didn't help me right then. But, I expected more than a code reader and I got that. I will get new codes now. Also, I like the trip tracking. I have this in my wife's car. I can know where she is or when she will be home at any time. I even linked with IFTTT so I get a notification when she leaves work each day. Another feature I wasn't expecting but enjoy is a map of nearby gas stations and their rates. So handy. What makes this worth the cost is the five years of FREE cell data for the device. I'm not sure what the cost is after 5 years, but even if I have to buy a new one every 5 years, still worth it. Much better than relying on a link to your cell phone. That way I can track my car in real time no matter who is driving, or if it was stolen. With the bevy of features and third party integration ( I have asked Amazon Alexa where my car is a few times), well worth it.

This product saves so much time in figuring out what is going on with my truck. I no longer worry about what the dealership determines, I already know what is wrong and most of the time I can fix it myself. Avoiding diagnostic fees and time wasted at dealerships. Everyone should own this product!

I've had 2 generations on the Automatic adapter. This one adds a cellular connection and GPS sensor, eliminating the need to rely on a cell phone. It sticks a little bit out of the ODB II port. Depending on where the port is on your car, you may want to get an extension cord. I've had good success with such a cord. The info collected by the adapter is very useful. We use it to keep track of where the car is when my son is driving. It also signals my wife's phone when I'm on my way home, rather than having to call each time. For a single one-time fee, we've found it to be very worthwhile.

This is the fifth Automatic (and the second Pro) we've bought. We started off with the Automatics for our three vehicles and bought an Automatic Pro when it first came out. When I bought my wife a new car, I bought this Automatic Pro. We've liked all of the new features (IFTTT, 3G syncing, crash alerts, tracking, graphics, maps, etc.) along with the old familiar abilities. I like it so much we had to drop considering some of the insurance companies which require inserting their proprietary OBD-II devices as they aren't as feature-rich as the Automatic devices.

This is pretty awesome. I was able to keep track of where the car was located and it told me what was wrong and what needs to be done to fix it.

This is really awesome. It lets you see where your car is parked and it even reads codes. Helps me track my mileage for work and volunteer also

Setup of the Automatic Pro adapter in my 2011 VW Jetta was super easy and quick. It has worked well, without any problems since the initial setup. I love the integration possibilities with the automatic pro and the corresponding IFTTT channel. I have my lights turn on when I park my car at home and make sure that the AC is set to the desired temperature. Lights all turn off when I drive away from home. All of my trips are automatically logged in a google sheets document. The possibilities are endless! Great way to integrate your smart home with your newly created smart car!

If you were like me, you were probably debating whether this is worth it or not. I bought it saying, "what the heck". I actually enjoyed this. My gf and I use it almost every day to track our commute, fuel pumps and driving habits. It is also neat to see where the vehicle is at. When you set up the unit and the account, it never ask for you address or credit card info. Just name and email. 3G works instantly after set up. They say the 3G is good for 5 years... I think it is indefinite, no where on their publication or site says what happens after the 5 years of "fee free 3G".

I was travelling and my engine started to run rough. I called the local dealership and they couldn't get me in until the next week. So I bought this and it quickly diagnosed my issue as cylinder 4 misfire. I shut off the engine, did a little internet search to see how bad it would be, found out I could drive home and address the issue when I got there. In the mean time, the engine light went out. I wasn't sure what the issue was and this allowed me to see what the problem was and get home without damaging my vehicle.

I have a 16yr old new driver. I just wanted to know if he is where he says he is. This allows me to see his car as he drives so I know everything is alright. Easy to setup. Alerts me when his cars check engine light comes on. Let's me know when he leaves and when he parks. Handy when I'm at work and he leaves for school after I'm gone. Simple. Not have on the diagnostic analytics but that's not why I bought it.
