Love this avatar game. The quality is amazing. Buy this especially if you see this on sale.

30FPS SHOULD NOT EXIST IN 2024

30fps is so painful to deal with. You're basically stuck on performance mode if you want a steady 60fps

I really love the game, just a bit upset that the case came damaged in shipping, so I knocked it down a star.

"Wow...!" Moment. I enjoy the Game.

The game is honestly so beautiful. That first step out into the forest of Pandora is one of those "Wow..." moments, like they gave you in Elden Ring. I do wish you could choose to play in 3rd person, though. That's one of my primary gripes. I feel more immersed when I can see my character interacting with the world, not just a pair of floating arms. It's the same reason I was turned off from Cyberpunk 2077. Alas, it is first-person only. I wont let it prevent me from playing Avatar, in this case, however, because the rest of the game is interesting enough that I can get past the dumb forced 1st-person camera, no matter how much I despise it. That said, the world is definitely huge. Huuuuge. It can feel overwhelming at times. However, they apparently knew it could feel this way, so your character actually unlocks access to transportation quite early on in the story, about the same time you start to feel like you need it, if not even a little before then. It's not a pointlessly huge world, either. There are plenty camps and activities to find spread across the map, with different biomes that provide different materials and ingredients. The large map also feels almost required considering the story focus. I suppose they could have made it work in a more linear way, instead of open world, but it may have taken away from the feeling of restoring a planet and its peoples. Anyway, it's a decent game. It can start to feel repetitive at times, especially if you spend a whole lot of time doing side activities. I recommend breaking up the side stuff with the story, as the story does a decent job of trying to introduce new things into the mix, to keep it from growing too stagnant. Taking a break from the game for a week can also help, after spending a couple dozen hours in it. The same could be said for many games, though, that an intentional break can help prevent burnout. I do notice occasional dips in frame rate, primarily when the game is trying to load a whole area quickly, like when entering a large interior area with many NPCs, but it doesn't happen so frequently that I feel it interferes with the combat or gameplay. If I could give half stars, this rating would probably be a 3.5, but I rounded up instead of down, because I genuinely think it deserves better than a 3. I enjoy the game!

    Avatar’s Huge Open World

My favorite games to play are Open World games. Avatar is so far enjoyable and the graphics are awesome. It’s taking a bit of time to figure out how to play, but with the help of YouTube I’m finally getting there. I have a lot of game left to play and looking forward playing. The open world is huge, so it will take awhile for me to finish. As an older guy that plays occasionally, I definitely recommend this game.

Having played through the game and gotten all the achievements, I would like to weigh in. The visuals are amazing in the game, just as good as the films. The gameplay is similar to how the Far Cry series plays, which I suppose is to be expected since they are made by the same company. There were some visual glitches during my playthrough and some crashes. Overall, I would recommend this game to a fan of the films and the Far Cry series.

The game itself is fun enough, but only if you buy it on sale for less than $30. The story is pretty generic and stems down to humans being bad. Granted the movies are also have generic plots so you will probably like this game if you like the movies. But the game kinda just ends. My reaction to finally beating the game was “oh, that’s it?” I expected a little more from the final boss fight and the story in general. With the open-world nature of the game, I expected more choices (you literally have no choices, even in dialogue). Pandora looks beautiful, but you can tell that the game is partially unfinished. 2 out of the 3 open-world areas feel empty. It seems like they went for quantity over quality. The most annoying thing is that this game MUST BE CONNECTED to the ubisoft servers just to play it. The physical discs let you install the entire game, which is nice but also pointless since you have to connect to the internet and create an ubisoft account just to play it. And then it will make you accept an OTA software update as well. You literally can’t launch the game otherwise. Oh yeah and this game is single player only with no online elements. I don’t understand why game companies do this. But this will be the one and only ubisoft game I buy.

In the 30 plus years of gaming i’ve never witnessed a game so visually stunning and smooth playing. This is the first game the whole family including our 6 year old that doesn’t care for video games was just glued to the screen. Its locked at a solid frame rate, plays so fluid and I actually agree with many critics where you’ll stop just to be amazed at the scenery. As a game itself it’s like any other but on a league of it’s own with interacting in Pandora. It’s as if the best of COD, Far Cry and many more combined came together to give you Avatar. Theres no screen tare, no slow downs, jaggies or anything that looks bad. Try it for yourself you’ll be amazed

Gorgeous graphics. Solid controls and mechanics. Only thing keeping it from perfection is that it’s easy to get lost as it’s not always clear what you’re supposed to be doing.
