    THE PERFECT SMART LOCK COMPANION

I purchased the Level Keypad as a companion device to the Level Bolt that I purchased at the same time. It's great to have a keypad that I can program always on and scheduled PIN codes to for family and visitors. It's also helpful to have a physical keypad in case you don't have your phone or keys handy. The keypad has a backlight, can be installed with screws or double-sided tape, is fast in responding to PIN entries, with installation and setup taking less than 10 minutes when following the step-by-step instructions in the app. I recommended it to anyone that has a Level smart lock.

This product pairs perfectly with my new Level lock! It is a must have for our kids coming and going, as well as anyone else you need to give access to get in (cleaners, dog walker, etc). Looks very nice and is a super easy set up/pairing process with the level lock. I would highly recommend. You’ll never get locked out of your house again!

Great complement for the Level Lock

I got the Level Lock last year and it worked pretty well, but had a couple of drawbacks. One of the bigger ones being that if you didn’t have your phone, you were out of luck. The Level Keypad is here to solve that problem. Level uses an app on your phone (iPhone in my case) to connect to the lock and lock/unlock the device when you press the button. The Keypad works similarly…if a valid 4-6 digit code is entered, it connects directly to your Lock to lock/unlock it. Setup is relatively straight-forward. First thing I did was connect Keypad to the Lock. Pull the tab protecting the battery and connect it within the app. I ran into a couple minor issues here. The Lock needed a firmware update to allow it to connect to the Keypad. The update took about a minute to complete with no issues. Then, when I pulled the tab for the battery, it displaced the battery a little so the app wasn’t finding it. The provided a link to the site for troubleshooting. There were a couple things to check like, install batteries (came installed), replace batteries, and a few others. I just pushed the batteries a little and they fully seated. Tried connecting again and it worked without any more issues. Next step was to create a 4-6 digit code. When i tried a few times it didn’t work and it said I could set it up later from the settings page in the app. Went to settings page and noticed that a firmware update was needed for the Keypad as well, so did that as well. It took about 30 seconds to get that done. After that, I went to add the code and it worked right away. I used the code to lock/unlock the Lock without any further issues. The rest of the install was easy as you just needed to mount the Keypad. NOTE: the instructions said to mount it first, I believe, but I wanted to make sure it was working first. Make sure you are testing it from where you are going to mount it to make sure there isn’t something blocking the signal between the two devices. You can add multiple codes and set the duration for it to always be usable or set a timeframe for the code. Since it uses Bluetooth to connect to the devices, you have to be close to it for it to download the code to the Keypad. Minor inconvenience if you are by the door regularly. If this is a remote home, a little more problematic and the Level Lock/Keypad is probably not the one you want (get a Wi-Fi connected lock for that scenario instead). App is pretty basic…not very user friendly, but also not complicated…it does what you need it to do. This was one of the features I found myself missing when comparing to a normal keypad lock. The nice thing with the Level Lock was that no one could tell you had one. This lets people know that there is a smart lock present, but worth it for the convenience. Overall, I recommend this as a great complement to the Level Lock. It makes it more usable and you can setup codes for different people that are only active at certain times (cleaners can only get in from 1000-100, for example). Glad I got it..

Perfect companion to my Level smart lock

It's becoming evident that the Level brand is taking the lead in smart locks devices. I already have two smart locks of Level brand, so I decided to take advantage of the ecosystem and get my hands on this smart keypad. The keypad has two AAA batteries (pre-installed) and a mounting kit (2 screws & 2 anchors) beside one adhesive strip. I pulled the battery insulating tab, and the keypad was ready to be paired up through the Level app. After the keypad was paired, a firmware update version 1.3 prompt popped up, and after two minutes, the update was completed. Also, the mounting process was straightforward and hassle-free. After that, everything continues through the Level app, where an access code between 4-6 digits and setting the duration of using it by visitors or anyone who needs temporary access can be created. If the generated code is set to "always" then it remains valid permanently, but if the "always" option is turned off, date and time setting would appear in which you can choose one date and one time ONLY! And that code can be modified and deleted easily. Leval app on smartphones is neat and easy to navigate. The functionality of the keypad went very well, and I have not experienced any delays or glitches. The keypad lights up white around each number when it is pressed. Nevertheless, the keypad does not have feedback to confirm the number pressing, so I missed selecting the correct number, and the check button lit up red, meaning my input was incorrect. So I had to slowly select the numbers again and watch the white light illuminates around each key to ensure I was selecting the correct numbers. Furthermore, the keys are not clickable, so there is no way to know if the selection of the numbers is correct unless the white light is observed. Other than that, this keypad is a suitable replacement for the physical keys in the event that the phone is not available or even to give access to visitors.

Installation was straight forward. It comes with a wall mount with screws, wall anchors, double sided tape and two AAA batteries. You use the Level app to scan for a good location for the keypad then it shows you how to mount it. After that, it will go through a pairing process followed by updates, if available. It is weatherproof with an IP65 rating. It connects with Bluetooth LE 5.0 up to 30 feet. However, in my testing, I only got it up to 24 feet line of sight to the lock but that’s plenty far. It is made from plastic which you can actually bend and the plastic mount is even more flexible but it is solid when mounted together. It has a capacitive LED backlit touch screen. You have to touch the numbers straight center and not anywhere around it or else it will not work. Might be an issue after a late night outing or party. The backlight is not always on and you have to touch the keys for it to turn on. I found that touching the enter key worked best to turn on the backlight because it lets you enter your code afterwards whereas if you touch a random number key just to turn on the backlight, you would have to wait until it clears and it turns off the backlight again anyways. With the Level Lock Touch edition came numerous ways to lock and unlock your door. Now for those that doesn’t like to use phones and touch to operate the lock, this Keypad will give them another option. Level says that the Keypad is “ Made for visitors” with up to 50 unique 4-6 numerical character key codes. You can use your key code to lock or unlock the lock. I really don’t see the reason to have to enter your key code to lock the lock though. I think it should be just long pressing the enter key or any key to lock it. Hopefully a future firmware update can fix that. Pick the time, day of the week, and duration each key code can be used so if you want to give temporary access to your lock, you can set it to a minimum of 30 minutes. I don’t think there is a maximum limit. Other than being a keypad to access your lock, that’s about it as far as functionality is concerned. The Level Lock Touch was kind of inconsistent with the touch to lock or unlock feature so I am hoping that this Keypad can alleviate that and give me a more consistent method of accessing the lock. So far so good.

This was what I needed for my Level Lock.

The Level Keypad was the addition I needed since the day I received my Level lock. While the Level lock is a nice piece, their lock loves to eat battery when touch is enabled. I was hopeful they would fix it within one of the updates but either they do not know there is an issue or i am one of many that got unlucky, I don't know. With having touch turned off, I have seen a huge increase in battery from 2 weeks to months, so having to always use my phone to unlock the door made it extremely annoying. Here enters the Level Keypad to save my sanity and the day! After updating the app to the most current to unlock the Keypad settings, setup took seconds to complete and boom, no I have a quick, no phone needed, way to unlock my Level lock. Everything to set up the Keypad is within the Level app, setting your pin, which I used a 6 number instead of 4, but you can enter up to 8 digits. The Keypad has a weird button feeling you have to get used to quickly or you will get frustrated a little. There is no clicking sound or feedback and they do not like light pushes, do not be afraid to hit the buttons. Once your code is entered, hit the check mark and enter your home. You can have many codes set up as well, making this great for visitors, dog sitters, AirBNB and more, being able to control the codes from your phone and change them at any given moment you want. Install is easy, either use the sticky 2 sided pad or the included screws. You have to be within 20 feet, so you can hide it or do like I did and stick it directly above the lock. The Level lock needed one improvement and that was taken care of by the Keypad, the touch is a battery killer and a gimmick, the Keypad, not a gimmick, it is the final key to your sanity with the Level system. I highly recommend the Level Keypad for anyone with a Level Lock.

I have had a level lock for awhile and it works great. But I always wanted to be able to control it when I didnt have my phone. This fits the bill perfectly. It was easy to install, and synched easily as I already had app installed on my phone. I did have an issue where once setup the app would not let me "continue" until an update was completed - which kept failing. Ultimately the failure was caused by an old battery in the level lock and once replaced everything worked perfectly. You can share codes, set up specific codes, etc. I have it setup on my garage side door. Now I dont have to go thru the house now when working in the yard and dont have my phone. The only down side for me is I wish it had a cover, as does my garage keypad. Would definitely recommend as an add on if you already own a level lock device or recommend as a package as lock works great.

    Convenient keypad for Level Bolts

Verdict. This was the missing piece to take the Level Bolt to the next level of convenience and utility. We love it. Installation. Upon opening the package, a quick refence card directs users to install the lock through the app. We already had the app since we have a level bolt installed on our front door. On the app I selected the option to add a keypad, and the directions noted that I should place the keypad at its permanent location to ensure it could communicate properly with the bolt. Once I confirmed the location, the app associated the keypad to the bolt within just a minute or two. I selected a passcode for the key pad and it was done. You can install the keypad with two screws or with double-sided tape, which are both provided in the box. Range. One of the great features of this keypad is the 30-foot range. I did not want to install the keypad next to my door because I want a clean and unencumbered look for our front door: no door bells, keypads, or visible cameras. Also, I didn’t want anyone to see that a keypad was available to open the front door. I mounted the keypad on the back of a column about 10 feet from the front door. Everyone in the family knows it’s there and they now use it, but guests and other visitors don’t know it’s there. The keypad works flawlessly thus far. Convenience. While the Level Bolt with the app was a nice progression from a mechanical lock, it was a bit slow to get my phone out, open the app, hold the open button, and wait for the lock to open. Sometimes, when I need to get something from the house in a rush, I park the car near the front door to run in through the front door. A few times, I forgot my phone in the car, and had to go back to get the phone so I could open the Level Bolt with the app. This problem is gone now. We can open the front door quickly and conveniently, without a phone. Also, this summer we will be traveling and a friend will stop by the house to walk our dog. I no longer have to ask them to download the app to get into the house. I can easily assign them a temporary pin on the keypad, and cancel/change the pin anytime. Things I love. - Very easy and quick installation - Nice looking keypad - Provides great convenience for the Level Bolt - You can assign temporary pins for guests and visitors Things I don’t love. - Sometimes its hard to tell if the keypad registered a number when pressed. The keys light up when pressed, but its not obvious. We know what to look for now, but my in-laws are older and they get confused on the numbers sometimes. A “beep” when keys are pressed would be perfect. Overall, this is a fantastic upgrade for the Level Bolt. We loved our Level Bolt before, but now we can use it faster, easier, and without a phone. Very nicely done!

It’s compact, not too out there in looks and fits perfectly beside my door. It was extremely easy to setup in app and get this operating in minutes. It’s a great alternative for kids, in-laws or guests to be able to just use the pad to gain access into your home with a level lock. It’s been easy to set the lock as I leave in the morning to walk the dog and upon my return, I just use the keypad to regain access. No keys, no app :). Each person can have their own individual passcode or you can set passcodes for a specific period. I do wish that there were multiple options when it comes to schedules. We should be able to set certain times, multiple days (m,w,f) etc. instead we are bound and restricted by start and end dates. I would prefer more customizations as that would be beneficial for people with children or other scenarios. In other words, I would prefer a “set it and forget it” option. It has worked flawlessly since installation and that’s just it. It’s simple and easy. It has to be close enough to the lock to operate If I had more level locks, I would definitely add these to each location. I hope that in the future they also add multiple colors to match with a variety of home colors.

A Must-Have Accessory For A Great Smart Lock!

I have had the Level Bolt now for about 4-5 months and I love it. When I had it installed (I could have done it myself but I also wanted some other things re-keyed as well), the locksmith was playing with it for 5 minutes or so because he thought it was 'so cool'. He was right, it is so cool, and now it is even cooler with the addition of the Level Keypad. The Level Keypad installation was incredibly simple. Stuck the adhesive pad to the back of the mount, put the mount on the door, sync the Keypad with the lock, set a code, snap Keypad into mount and done! I did try to drill the screws in to hold the mount even more securely, but I forgot to juice up my drill before hand. That being said, the adhesive seems to be doing a great job right now. When I get the chance, I'll pop off the Keypad (you have to use a paperclip or something to push in the latch through a teeny hole in the bottom - so no one is just going to be popping this off on a whim), and put in the screws. A great think about the keypad is that it seems to be a capacitive touch pad so you aren't actually 'pushing' any buttons and wearing out the actuator/covering on your selected digits. Now that doesn't mean that dirty fingers might not give away what numbers you often use but that just means that you should have a variety of codes to evenly distribute wear and tear. I have only one complaint for the Level Keypad and that is that the case is molded in white plastic. With a nice Bronze/Black lock, I would like the pad to match the lock. Though from the instructions it seems like Level intends it to be mounted elsewhere, not right above the lock. Oh well, really not a big issue. If you have a Level Smart Lock/Bolt, you really should get the Keypad. It's a great add-on for a great lock system.

    Perfect Integration With Level Lock

The Level Keypad is a must have accessory for the Level Lock system. The primary benefit to using a keypad is that it allows me to give access to my home to someone without that person having to download and use the Level App. Another nice benefit is that it allows me to lock and unlock my door on the rare occasion that I don’t have my phone with me Installation and setup was quick and easy and it took me about 5 minutes. The App has an integrated installation guide that makes the pairing process straightforward and easy. The Keypad has to be within 30 feet of the lock and the App will confirm that your desired mounting location is within range. The App is very well designed and makes controlling Level devices effortless. I already had a Level lock so I am very familiar with the Level App so I was happy to find that the keypad functionality was integrated to the App in a streamlined manner. All it takes to finish the setup is adding the access codes and selecting whether they are permanent or limited by duration. Each personalized code can be configured to be permanent or limited to a date and time range. Remember to enter the code and then the checkmark button. Included in the box is everything you need to get started including 2 AA batteries and adhesive tape and screws and anchors. I decided to use the adhesive tape because I minimize drilling into my stucco whenever possible. Fortunately the adhesive tape is very strong and I don't anticipate it falling off. Be sure to stick the white side of the tape to the keypad, and the blue side (very strong hold adhesive) to the wall. I have been using it for a few days so I can’t comment on the long term battery life, but it is rated to last about 2 years. Which will likely depend on usage. One minor issue that I have is that the keypad does not provide tactile feedback when buttons are pressed, so people can miss a key press without noticing. The keys do illuminate when pressed, but it is a white light that can be difficult to see in daylight. This lack of feedback likely saves battery power, but I would prefer some type of tactile or mechanical keypress even if it causes a hit to battery power. What I do to compensate is to press the check mark button first to illuminate the keypad, and then enter the entry code followed by the checkmark Overall Level has another nice product here. If you have a compatible Level Lock, I highly recommend this Level Keypad. Or if you are in the market for a smart home lock, I would strongly recommend them both.

    Great Accessory for Level Bolt

I have owned Level Bolt for about a year and have been impressed with its performance and how it can be completely hidden without replacing the outside hardware of the door. The only negative thing I found with the Bolt is that it only works with Apple Homekit and Amazon Sidewalk for remote use. This caused issues when I was not at home and wanted to give someone immediate access to my home. All of this is why I was interested in adding a remote keypad. Setup Since I already had the Level app installed, all I had to do to install this keypad was to press the “+” icon in the menu and select what lock this keypad was going to control. I like how you can add personalized codes using the app and quickly change them if needed. I read that this keypad must be within 20 feet of the lock, but I noticed I had to be about 10 feet away for it to work consistently. Things to consider I would like for the app to log which personalized code (ie: Marc, Tina, etc) was being used instead of “Unlocked Manually” or “Locked by Keypad.” I would also like for the buttons to illuminate brighter to inform the user that the keypad recognized the action. There were a few instances where I was not sure if I pressed a number, since I did not notice the illumination, and the keypad does not have any haptic feedback when pressed. I would recommend this keypad as an add-on to the Level Bolt. It is nice to be able to leave my house to go on a run without worrying about bringing keys with me.

I have had the Level deadbolt for a few months. I like that I can open and close with the app. However, I don't want to others who may need to enter my home to have the app and uncontrolled access to my home. Also, my 84 year old mother doesn't do well with "apps". With this keypad, I can give her her own code that is easy for her to remember and then she is able to enter without keys or an app. The installation was easy. I have vinyl siding so it does not screw into anything sturdy but it is on firmly an doesn't look like it's going anywhere. Pairing with the Level lock was also easy and almost instantaneous. I had to do a little figuring to program the codes I wanted (one for my mother and another for my grandson). This would be great for those with pet sitters, cleaning people etc. I don't see a way to "turn off" certain codes to prevent people accessing my home when they should not. I don't know if that's possible but would be a nice update. Between the keypad to lock and unlock my door and the Level deadbolt auto-unlock feature, I don't see myself needing keys again! (Unless the batteries die, then I will need them!)

Great Add on for Level Lock Touch

I picked this up to add a keypad option for my Level Lock Touch deadbolt that we added to our home this past year. This brings it up to par with other existing smart lock setups that offer a keypad option without having to pay for the extra premium. Hardware Setup: In the box, you get the keypad, the mounting bracket, a piece of double-sided foam tape, and some drywall anchors with screws. That's honestly all you need to secure it. Our challenge was that there was not much wood trim around our door. In north Texas, most house siding is brick. When I went to drill the pilot holes into our door to secure it, I quickly found out that the back door might look like it's wood, but it's actually metal. The drill bit broke in half, and I resorted to using the double-sided foam tape to hold the keypad in place. It feels like it'll hold, but time will tell. Software Setup: Getting this thing pared to the Touch lock in the Level app was a breeze, probably one of the fastest setups of a smart home peripheral that I've experienced. One of the reasons why I wanted a keypad was to set up custom codes for family members, so they could gain access to our home if needed. I was able to add several codes without issue, but then the app showed the codes were "Pending" and it took several minutes for the codes that I entered in the app to work on the keypad. They eventually did, but it was not as fast as I would've expected given how easy the setup had been up to that point. Overall: The Level keypad is a nice option that borders on required given how other smart locks are designed. Honestly, given the cost of the Level Touch lock that we picked up, I would've expected the keypad to be included, not available at an extra charge. If you're a HomeKit smart home owner and want the added convenience of enabling guest access, then the Level keypad / Touch combo might be just what you're looking for.

If you own a level lock and want to give family and friend easy access then this the add on you want to have. One of the thing I dislike about the level lock was that I had to open the app and be in close proximity to unlock, not any more. With this keypad all you need to do is plug in the code and that it. The key pad is easy to setup open the level app in the setting, add keypad and follow the instructions. The device is nicely well constructed and the buttons are illuminated. It can be mounted with screws or if you want it can be glued using the double side adhesive tape included. I really like they did that I didn't want to drill holes in my wall since I put the lock in my back door so I glued the keypad to the door. Another great feature is that is IP65 rated so weather is not going to be an issue. Overall this a nice add on to your level lock it is easy to use and the access can be customized. You can add up to 50 different access code which is more than enough. I wish they had different colors but the one used is neutral which should match with any other color easily. In the box you get the keypad, mounting with screws, two AA batteries, double side adhesive tape and manuals.
