    Love it! Better than MW3!

It's amazing! I used to be a huge fan of COD, but MW3 was just awful to me. My friend told me to try out BF3 and I don't regret it. Bigger maps! Vehicles! Way better graphics, More realistic, Better weapons. Story line is good too, but I mainly play multiplayer. It looks a lot better on an HD tv, but a standard tv looks good too.

    Truly Amazing Game

Picked this game up 6 months ago, but circumstances prevented me from being able to play much till a couple weeks ago. After a admittedly rough adjustment period, I am just blown away by this game. From a technical standpoint (graphics, audio, environments) it is amazing - one of the 2 or 3 best FPS's ever seen on consoles. The destructibility of the environments, and how that can play into your tactics if you are smart enough to use it, is fantastic. Audio is second to none. Online maps offer more variety than any other FPS out there - ranging from massive open worlds where vehicle utilization is a must, to cramped, mainly-indoor maps with ridiculously intense run-n-gun CQB combat. Graphics are great, but not the absolute best out there. Gameplay, and more specifically online multiplayer, is the party piece. Different classes and weapons actually have distinct differences, advantages, and weaknesses - there is no OP class everyone uses. The amount of customization is amazing, and actually useful. And snipers can actually - gasp - snipe (you know, long range recon and suppression/target elimination)! Supporting your teammates and working together is very important - you can just go it alone, but when a coordinated assault (especially one with vehicular support) comes together it is about the most fun you can have gaming. I will say that online multiplayer has a pretty steep learning curve, and the first few times you play it might not be too fun (I got absolutely slaughtered my first 3-5 rounds on each map). You start with the most basic kit possible, and the amount of distance and detail the maps hold can be overwhelming at first. Stick with it, LEARN THE MAPS, and learn to stay behind cover when possible - if you do, the experience is very, very rewarding. I will try to stay out of the BF3 vs CoD mess - each game is different, and to each their own. I will say that I have owned every CoD since 3, and while BF3 is only my second BF game, I am finding that the BF type of play is just more fun to me. I encourage any FPS fan to give it a try.

Closest to real life war, but fun factor is there

I'm very new to the Battlefield franchise and its something i had to get used to. First off im gonna say this game is a pretty realistic game. Shooting is kinda tough, not just a run n gun type of game where you get tons of kills quickly. (Halo, MW3) Campaign is pretty good, felt somewhat off though and i did run into some problems with software. Also didnt know a game could lag when not even playing online. Anyways, besides those small issues, this game has great graphics... probably the best and im a Call of duty fan. online play is kinda boring at times without buddies cause very few people have microphones, sometimes i have gone a few games with only chatting with 1 person. 90% of the maps in this game are bigger than the largest map in Call of duty, by like 3x or more... So gun fighting can be spread out too much Besides all of that, the use of tanks, choppers, buggies, and fighter Jets is something new to me. Having choppers and jets flying above you is pretty awesome, so while your sniping people on a rock, your buddy can be flying around a jet and taking out enemy air or even ground forces. Lastly this game can be a challenge to play, find myself getting way less kills than Call of duty games.

Battlefield 3 is a refreshing new game to FPS. The campain is ok but the where this game really shines is in the multiplayer. Their are huge maps to battle on and a wide variety of vehicles to choose from. Just buy it and stop thinking about it. This game is AWESOME!

I couldn't wait for this game to come out. I even pre-ordered it. I've always been a fan of battlefield and I've also played other shooter games such as COD and MW3. I can say that COD/MW3 and BF have similiar styles in multiplayer. Which is capture the flag and shoot em ups and each can be fun. The difference is that BF is more realistic. Meaning...If you shoot then you have to take into account gravity. If you shoot a rocket at a wall it's going to explode. There's squads such as alpha, bravo, etc. You have to work as a team to win. The only problem with that is not many people use the mics. But I normally play with family so we communicate. The only frustrating thing that drives me nuts is when there's no team work. You slowly see your entire team start to crumble and once you get pushed back to your home base you're stuck and your base gets raided. So remember teamwork and communication it's the only way to win. Goodluck. :)

I have been playing the Battlefield and COD games since the very beginning. I honestly believe you cant compare the two. Battle field is huge maps, tons of player s and tons of vehicles!! Just awesome. COD None of the above but very awesome in an other way, if your just looking for the "Soldier" experience. Battlefield to me is by far the best if youre looking for the real all around war expericnce and realism.

I enjoyed the campaign which was ok, but multiplayer is where it's at!!! With the awesome graphics and the destructible environment, it keeps you hooked!!! I also have MW 2.1 (MW3), which is a rehash of MW2. I don't play it. BF3 is all about being part of a team with a bigger picture in mind, not running and gunning which is what MW3 is about. Nothing like being inside of a building hiding from the enemy and a tank rolls up and brings the building down on your head!! Try that in MW3!!!

I got into battlield because I was tired of plying cod with little kids. Single player alone may not be worth $60 but the multiplayer is incredible. The scale of battle is epic and the sound is top notch. Best fps for online.

    fun multiplayer, boring single player

the multiplayer on this is fun to play but as usual there are not very many multiplayer game modes available. also as far as i know there is no way to tell what weapon damage is when choosing a load out. the maps are varied and vehicles are as fun as ever but they need to add more to the game modes in battlefield. it kinda gets old after a while due to limited game modes. the single player campaign is horrible and feels tacked on just so teh game couldnt be called a multiplayer only title. it is not as action packed as i thought it would be and some sequences are long and drawn out like the unskippable start to the first jet level. all in all it is a campaign to play once and i found it hard to even bother playing through it again to finish the achievements. all in all if you liked the previous battlefield games you will feel at home with this title, over all the multiplayer is fun even though it seems like most people just are not that great and it doesnt take much to take the top of the scoreboard (this is from someone who is horrible at COD multiplayer)

    It is not COD!

I have put in a lot of hours into the COD franchise. First of all, for all of those people that come from the COD community, this is not MW3, nor is it ment to be. Everything about the gameplay mechanics are different, so don't compare them. After putting in 150+ hours online and even more on single player and co op, I have experienced the game. To let this game reach its full potential, I would recommend a decent headset, HD TV, installed the HD texture pack, and friends to squad up and communicate with online. The single player is above average, but the graphics along with the sound make up for what the campaign lacks. I will say that the COD series has a more intense run and gun, when the BF3 single player incorporates vehicles. Give it a try without biased opinions, you will enjoy what you pay for.

i've been with cod since the first and after black ops i was really looking forward to MW3. Unfortunately i wasn't impressed and i actually got this game for free. One of my friends didn't like it and i didnt have to pay for the online pass :D. Anyway I completed the campaign and it was a little cliche but it was decent. I really wish the campaign would've been better because i really enjoy the CoD, Gears of War, Halo, and other shooters' stories. The multiplayer is this game's selling point and it is what i love most about this game. Along with the huge maps and epic battles, destructible environments and more, the sound design is amazing and goes well with the Frostbite 2.0 engine. I didn't completely like it when i first played it, but it is a lot of fun and takes true strategy. Once i got the hang of it i was having a blast online. I haven't had this much fun online since CoD 4. To any CoD fans give it a try, i recommend a rental first or borrowing it only because some may not be able to get used to it like a CoD game which you learn in less than a week.

Battlefield 3 is one of those games that you can pretty much do anything you want to. Run n Gun, hop in a tank, a jet, or one of the other death vehicles in the game. the size of each map is very impressive and exploring them is vital and fun. The campaign bored me and is a rip off of the black ops story. Still, the multiplayer is why you buy this game and it is fantastic. The rewards you recieve for gaining xp are awesome and many. I am not a big fan of the massive levels where snipers can just sit and make a match a living heck(for appropriate reasons) , but i am still very impressed with what this game has to offer. I'll still be playing mw3 more though.

A great game I got on sale!

I bought this game when it was on sale because I didn't want to spend a full $60 since I already had several other shooters that I play. Also I don't care for EA's online pass. They give you a code that you can use to allow an unlock so one Xbox live account can play online. You can purchase more, but I don't see why they need this other than an incentive to make people purchase a new copy. Another thing I don't care for is that EA started allowing people to rent servers. Some of these people have jacked up the score needed to win to 200% or more, so it takes a long time to finish a game. Though despite those issues, I have to say I'm glad I was able to buy this game. It's a lot of fun to play online. This is more geared towards working as a team compared to other shooters. Using a mic is best if you have one. My brother also loves playing this game. For some the single player is lacking, but I enjoy it. Battlefield 3 has been entertaining for hours, and would recommend it to anyone to buy who sees it on sale.

This is one of the best multiplayer games I have ever played. There is so much to do and unlock. It keeps the game interesting and challenging. I love that you can specialize in things other than just kills. The game is best when you get a few friends together in a squad and play as a team. You can have different strengths and skills that blend together. It's what makes this game. Just buy it!

    Its no MW3

Ok, I would like to start out by saying that I am a lover of all FPS games, Halo, Call of Duty, Half-Life, even Battlefield. However, I was unimpressed and underwhelmed with BF3. I has great sound, awesome environmental graphics and a decent story, but the character models and the excessive language just kinda killed it for me. The characters look like they were pulled from the original XBOX version of BF2 and just plugged into the environment without any tweaking. They also are too robotic, the movements arent as fluid, unlike MW. The cussing also didnt help matters, I mean I know its a military game, but even the Modern Warfare series is cleaner than this game. Overall, I wanted so badly to like this game, but I came out disappointed. Oh well, off to play MW3.

    FPS for skilled people

This game is what FPS games should be like. This game requires skills to play and be decent and/or good at. If your a C.O.D. player who has grown tired of MW3 like so many of us, and your picking this game up, just realize its not going to be run and gun, its not going to be a one man wrecking machine that wins the game. It takes skill, it takes patience and it takes team work. Your going to get owned a few times, your going to have to rank your weapons up and your going to have to actually play an objective. Sure you can snipe, you can hide on a bushy hill and get kills, but if your not really helping your team out then you still lose. Its worth it people, its worth leaving C.O.D. and learning to play a real FPS.

If your undecided between Battlefield 3 and MW3 u shouldnt be. This has amazing grapchics and realistic gameplay. Unlike mw3 where u have same graphics as 2 years ago and the gameplay is arcade like. I have played all the call of dutys since it came out on ps2 and mw3 isnt worth anybodys time. For the people who say its the best are the fanboys of the franchise and will buy anything with the title call of duty. Battlefield is great even at a $60 price

There are too many good things to say about this game, If you liked call of duty, gears of war or halo, load up BF3 and enjoy a multiplayer experience that is just as rich as it is different. Every gun is unique and extremely custimizible. Every class offers an extra edge on the battlefield and each game mode and map offer a new way to play the game.
