This Belkin product is well-built and super sleek, matches my silver MacBook Pro nicely, and connects fast with long battery life.
Why only 4 stars? While it probably deserves 5, I deducted a star for my own personal usage, that being much less than expected.
Real world usage, i find my right hand is on this numeric keypad, but left hand Relegated in MBP keyboard, primarily the space bar, backspace, and trackpad.
I didn’t dig in and see if the buttons can be re-mapped (delete key pulls instead of backspace for example). Maybe it is?
A strong feature for me would have been to create a small mini-trackpad in the lower left quadrant.
Regardless, for numerical input it’s a fantastic product.

One flaw: Batteries Required. Unavoidable in a cordless mouse, trackball, or keyboard, sigh. So, what's to like? Elegant design (looks cool near your Mac), suitable fo lefties or righties, plays nicely with more than one computer, adds function keys 13-16 (in case you can find a use for them), smooth key operation, gentle and effective tactile feedback, clean interoperation with the calculator app, probably (no test by me) works great with accounting apps, DOES work great with spreadsheet apps. I use rechargeable batteries (keeping a spare, charged set on hand because batteries ALWAYS die at inconvenient times). Yet, battery life seems long enough so that trashing your long life alkaline batteries may not be such an awful eco-sin.

Best Number pad for Mac

Being in finance, I often find myself needing to enter large amounts of numbers or many series of numbers. As I travel often, I use my MacBook when I’m on the road. What was usually a simple task became very time consuming when having to use the regular laptop keyboard. I initially purchased a magic keyboard with a built in number pad. Though this was helpful, the size was a bit cumbersome when it came to travel. I tried several other standalone number pads which all seemed to have connectivity issues or short battery life. After switching to a new MacBook I decided to invest in a new Magic Keyboard, not realizing that it didn’t have a number pad until weeks later when I had to use it. I then purchased this number pad and have been using it for several months now. I absolutely love my set up now with a number pad that is responsive, maintains connectivity and I have yet to replace the batteries. It’s small and with the Magic Mouse and keyboard it’s just the right size to fit in my bag. The only thing I wish was included and if they ever do, I’d be happy to invest, is having the arrow keys in the bottom left corner, when navigating excel, the Magic Keyboard arrows are too small. With all the dead space on this number pad, it would be awesome to have arrows for simpler navigation. Other than that, I’m quite pleased with this purchase.

Needed something to help in my business stats class and this number key pad worked great. It made homework and test easier to take and it didn't need an external keyboard. Tied Bluetooth paired directly to my MacBook Pro. The only issue I had was it didn't have an on/off switch. I had to take the batteries out each time when I had it in my backpack. A minor inconvenience for a great tool.

I work in Excel A LOT and needed a numeric keyboard that would sync with my MacBook Air as well as work properly within Excel. I had a plug & play keypad that was not compatible with the newer versions of Excel 9's would appear in front of the numbers actually pressed, (i.e. I would enter 123 it would appear 919293). When I saw the Belkin I thought it would save the day and match my Mac and it did. The hardest part was putting the batteries in, so that should tell you set up was super easy. So far, I am very happy with this product. If I need to find a con (nothing that should stop purchasing) I wish there was a backspace button.

I bought a new iMac from Apple with magic mouse and magic keyboard, did not realize how much I would miss the number pad till I had to do without. Went to Best Buy looking for a keypad and saw the one by Belkin. Sturdily made out of matching metal and keys (however it is designed to match the shape of the old style keyboard not magic, but it is passable) I purchased it. It has not let me down. Have used it for a while now and it has only lost the bluetooth connection once, easily reconnected. Occasionally the first number doesn't register as it is waking up but I have learned to just wait a moment to see if the number registers and then go on.

So just to be accurate, this is not an apple product but works and syncs quickly just like an apple product. This has a great feel and function access that is key when working a lot of spreadsheets and numbers for my wifes Travel business, GreatFunVacations. Its slim, portable and only needs 2 AA Batteries so its easy to keep powered up cheaply. Get one if you want a good bluetooth connecting keypad for quick travels or your mobile office when traveling or on the go.

The only problem with the iMac is that the keyboard does not have a numeric keypad. When you deal with numbers a lot, it is really needed. The Belkin wireless numeric keypad is the perfect solution. It leaves the keyboard small and as a separate piece, they can be placed wherever it is most convenient. It works flawlessly and is easy on batteries. Don't buy a iMac without one!

Sleek Number Key Pad

The Belkin number key pad work just as intended, no problems so far. I've purchased an inferior after market brand in the past and it didn't always work. The Belkin pad matches my old Apple keyboard perfectly, but the new Apple keyboard is flatter now without the tube or roll shape at the top so it doesn't sit as seamless with my new one. All in all it does what it's supposed to and matches well enough. I'd say it was a good purchase!

Even though it does not fit flush to my MacBook, I still love that I can use the keypad when working in my spreadsheets. Glad I spent the extra money for wireless. It's worth every extra penny instead of having to mess with a cord.

The laptop I replaced had a built-in 10 key that I used fairly regularly. The MacBook Pro didn't have one so I opted to add this to my purchase. Nice addition. Only con, if it even is a con, is that it is relatively large in comparison to the keys on my laptop. LOVE the bluetooth so no need to take up a port to run it.

This wireless numerical keypad has seamless design integration with Apple's Magic trackpad, chiclet style keys similar to apples keyboard, and additional function keys that you do not see on typical wired keypads.

This pad works well with my mac. It looks like the keyboard. The only negative is it does go to sleep and takes a few seconds to reestablish the connection.

Great alternative to buying a larger keyboard that includes its own number pad, especially when you already have a wireless keyboard without a number pad or when you don't use the number pad all the time.

I would definitely recommend this numeric keyboard, works phenomenal. The batteries do not die fast, when not in use it turns off and at a press of any key it turns on. Very responsive & keeps up with fast key strokes. Love it and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to purchase this. The price is not bad for how good it works, it beast buying knock offs on amazon.

This works well. I prefer to use it than to live without a numeric keypad. The numbers quickly enter to the computer via Bluetooth. There isn't a lag and I do type fast. It doesn't feel and isn't setup exactly like a numeric keypad is the reason I took away one point. Also, I use it for a couple of hours once a week and the batteries have lasted which is nice.
