Very easy to install, all parts were included, seems to be extremely durable. Fit my 55” TV perfectly. The only very minor issue I have is cosmetic. The locking system uses straps to tighten in place and they hang down below the TV. I could probably hide them, but it’s a little bit of an annoyance.

We wanted to move our TV across the room and mount it to the wall, so a wall mount was in order. This one does the trick, nothing fancy but very functional.
It has the typical black satin finish that should be good behind any TV. There are plenty of options for the size TV to mount from a small VESA up to bigger than I've seen on most TVs! It also comes with a wide variety of hardware to accommodate most TV shapes. There are several size standoffs for curved backs, as well as a good assortment of screws and washers to attach TVs to the mount.
They include a small level to clip over the full size paper template to make sure things are square on the wall, although a full size level might make things easier in the long run. The paper template means it is easy to see right where the cutouts are to make sure the mount is screwed into studs. I have never trusted anchors for mounting heavy things, I know how easy it is to mess up sheetrock and I don't want an expensive TV ending up on the floor!
The mount bars have a chain that releases the clips to allow easy removal of the TV after installation. It also offers a little adjustment on tilting to allow the best viewing angle.
I have installed much more expensive wall mounts but in the end, this Best Buy Essentials might does what it needs to without costing an arm and a leg!

Well Made Bracket - A Couple of Issues

The Best Buy Essentials Tilting TV mount is a budget friendly option for hanging your shiny new TV on the wall. The mount is listed for TV’s 47-84” and up to 100lbs. It supports up to VESA 600 x 400mm down to 100 x 100mm.
I have a 75” Vizio PQX from 2020 that clocks in at 79lbs and uses a VESA 400 x 400mm mounting pattern. It was sitting on an older mount that was weight rated to 100lbs, but maxed out at a 65” TV. My TV was applying more cantilevered load than that mount was rated for, so holding a pitched angle position would cause the mount to flex and lean out more. I used this setup for years, but I was hesitant to pull the TV off the wall for just that. I am currently redoing by AV and wiring setup to fulling upgrade to 4K 120, which meant I had to take the TV off the wall. Seemed like a good time to swap the brackets.
The first thing I noticed going from my old mount to the new one is the size difference. My old mount was certainly larger and could span 3 studs. It was also a taller mount, so it really took up a lot more space. This new mount in comparison is only 25.6” wide, so at most it can only span 2 studs. The bracket itself is only 3.9” tall, so it is quite compact. This condensed size comes into play later and can work against you depending on your stud placement and VESA pattern width. The sides of the mount are fully boxed and welded, so while the bracket is smaller it is much stiffer than my outgoing mount. The box comes with a paper template of the bracket to help you align things on your wall, and to mark out the mounting holes. The brackets for the rear of the TV are similar, are differentiated into left and right by the side of the tilt adjustment knob. Each bracket has a tether hanging from the bottom that goes to the lower jaws of the bracket, which serve to lock the TV to the wall mount. There is also a sizeable array of fasteners and spacers to use for mounting the rear brackets to the back of your TV. The last pieces of hardware are a small magnetic level and the lags screws for mounting.
The instructions tell you how to measure and locate the bracket based on the VESA pattern of your TV. Unfortunately, the instructions assume the VESA pattern is centered vertically on the TV, which doesn’t apply to me. My TV’s VESA pattern is shifted lower, so I had to do a couple of different measurements to figure where I needed to locate the mount. I also only have ½” of clearance above and below my TV to clear my center channel and front high presence speakers. I measured from the rear bracket “hook” to the bottom of my TV, and then used that measurement to go up from my center channel speaker. My first real issue that I ran into was the stud placement and the overall width of the bracket. My studs are 16” on centers, so I had to catch 2 of them and also make sure my TV would be centered in the wall space. It turns out I had to attach the bracket using the far-left holes to catch a stud, which leaves about 7.5” of bracket extending beyond the second stud and left unsupported. I really like this because in order to center my TV on the wall I have to push the TV all the way to the right side of the bracket. Not ideal, so I am going to snag ¼” snap toggle anchors and add them in later on just for peace of mind. I drilled the holes in my wall with a 7/32 bit like the manual advised and then drove the anchor bolts in with a ½” socket wrench.
Before you put the TV up on the wall you need to lock in your angle adjustment. There is a knob on each bracket that should be facing towards the outside edge of your TV – if not then your have your brackets swapped L/R. The manual says to adjust the angle after you put it on the wall, but my experience with slim wall mounts is there is never enough room to adjust after putting it up. I opted to adjust the angles while the TV was still on the ground. There’s not really a good way to gauge the tilt being applied because the brackets don’t have any angle indicators – something I appreciated with my old mount. I set my angle at a few degrees pitched down and really tightened the adjustment knob down with my hand. From there we tossed the TV up on the wall – it took 3 of us with 2 holding the TV and 1 person handling the lower jaw tethers. The tethers were so much easier than the old way. I have so used so many brackets where you drive a bolt through the bottom of the rear bracket to lock it in. Once the TV was up I could see I guessed right on the angle adjustment, which was a relief. I confirmed that once the TV was on the wall it was next to impossible to do any angle adjustment. There’s just not enough room on a larger TV to reach your arm behind and adequately twist the adjust knob to tighten it.
I ran into a couple of issues though which I would call design flaws. The lack of angle markers on the bracket was one that would have helped. Beyond that I ran into 2 others that really need to be taken into consideration. The first is a physical limitation, while the second could be addressed with better documentation.
The first big problem I saw, which nearly affected me was the shorter width of the wall bracket. This could be a really big issue if your TV uses a wider VESA pattern like the 500 x 400 or 600 x 400 patterns. The studs would have to be more or less centered around the centerline of you TV’s final position. A 600mm wide pattern has next to zero side to side adjustment space – where you put the mount is where the TV will be stuck. In my case the bracket would either have to shift all the way to the right or left, and the TV shift to the opposite side to line up with the middle of my wall. My 400mm wide pattern only has 7-7.5” of side to side adjustment to make up for any stud alignment issues. If the bracket was just a few inches wider then things wouldn’t be so tight trying to line up.
The second issue arose after the TV had been mounted for a day, and it was nearly a disaster. I watched TV in the afternoon, ran a few errands, and came back to my TV nearly coming off the wall. The adjustment knobs completely slipped and my TV leaned the full 15° down to the stops. This pulled and damaged my new HDMI cable, and it risked wrecking the only HDMI 2.1 (4K@120Hz) eARC port on my TV. I had to quickly scramble to get people to help me pull my TV off the wall. I looked the brackets, and it was clear that hand tightening the adjustment knob does not provide enough clamping force. The paint along the adjustment slot was gouged away by the adjustment knob when the TV shifted. This slot is knurled to provide extra clamping/bite like a lock washer would provide, but apparently it wasn’t enough. I tried to reset the hooks back to their original position, but found out later I guessed wrong and laid them too flat. Before putting the TV back up I tightened the knobs down with pliers and tightened the screw on the opposite side of the hook with an allen wrench. I am fairly certain this should not slip again. So, if you have a heavier TV I would definitely crank down the knob with a tool and tighten the opposing screw to really lock it in. I would bet that the lower position of my TV’s VESA mounts along with the decent weight (almost 80lbs) was too much of a cantilevered load – a centered VESA mount position would exert less torque when the screen is angled down. With that being said the brackets need marked angle positions so you can dial things in and torque the fasteners down before putting it up on the wall. The manual should be adjusted to add these tips instead of how its presented. If the knobs were replaced by screws you could at least use a long extension on a drill to reach and tighten them down.
The angle adjustment slipping is a huge red flag for me – it has given me an uneasy feeling that I’m still waiting to get over. I will pull my TV down again and adjust the pitch, but I will be keeping an eye on it in case the angle slips again. With that being said, I liked the sturdiness of the wall bracket, and the easy release lower jaws on the TV bracket. The myriad of fasteners means you shouldn’t have to purchase any additional mounting hardware. The included template will make install easier as well. I’m sure this bracket will handle smaller or lighter TV’s without issue. My TV having the lower VESA mounts and decent weight was too much for simple hand tightening that the manual said to do. If you have a large/heavy screen then you should really tighten down those fasteners.

From Bulky to Brilliant: The Essential TV Mount

The Best Buy Essential Tilting TV Mount for large TVs is made for TVs between the size of 47 and 84 inches. I have a 65” TV that weighs in at about 70 pounds. I also have an entertainment center that was getting hard to manage with my TV taking up most of the space. I was eager to mount my TV on the wall and curious what this mount had to offer.
**In the Box**
You will find the brackets and a variety of screws, anchors and washers to fit different sizes and builds of TVs. It ships with a guide to help you place the mount and a very easy-to-follow set of instructions. All the essentials are included with a couple of nifty add-ons including a level.
**Setup & Build**
A tape measure, drill, screwdriver and socket wrench is needed. I actually used an electric screwdriver but I was careful not to over tighten the designated screws.
1.) I removed the feet off the bottom of my tv and laid it face down on some pillows.
2.) I chose the 4 bolts and washers that fit my TV and bolted the brackets into the back of my television. I placed a level to make sure they were straight. Total time for this step: 8 minutes
3.) The next step was to take the measurements on the TV and corresponding wall to make sure the TV is exactly where you want to place it. I used a stud finder and found my studs were about 16” apart. Your studs will be either 16, 18, or 24” apart and the guide will accommodate each of these lengths. You will then take the guide, level it out, and mark the holes. Total time for this step: 15 minutes
4.) Next, I took a drill and drilled four 2.5” holes. I used the socket wrench to bolt in 4 large screws. I felt much better looking at the size of the bolts that would hold my TV on the wall. Total time for this step: 10 minutes
5.) The last step is to mount the TV on the wall. You will need 2 people to place the TV, one on each side. I noticed you have to tilt the TV forward a bit to get both sides to latch on. (I easily latched one side of the TV, but had to tilt the top of the TV forward a bit to get the second one to latch on.) Then you pull 2 ribbons on the bottom to get the bottom side of the brackets to engage. You can the slide the TV carefully to either side to center on the mount properly. There’s also an angle adjustment of about 20 degrees you can tilt the TV up or down to reduce glare, or provide a better viewing angle. Total time for this step: 3 minutes
**Final Thoughts**
I realized after completing installation that there were a lot of leftover parts. This is because they give you everything you need based on a variety of factors: Is your TV flat, offset, or curved? What size and type of bolts will you need for your brand and build of TV. Finally, what type of surface are you mounting into: wood, drywall, or concrete?
The installation was much easier than I anticipated and the bracket feels very sturdy. I have no hesitation that it will hold my TV. The instructions are very good and easy to read. This is important when every step is critical in securing your TV to the wall.
I give the Best Buy Essentials tilting TV mount 5 stars for ease of installation, quality and variety of parts, easy-to-read and thorough instructions, and design and build quality.
I would recommend this mount to anyone looking for a simple yet strong, economical TV mount.

Excellent basic wall mount! Great value

I have been wanting to wall mount our outdoor TV for some time now but finding the right mount was difficult. It seemed to me that most mounts had way more features than I needed and were, of course, also more expensive because of that. At the same time, some basic mounts were also very expensive for something so basic. On top of all of this, I wanted a product that I knew had a reputable company standing behind it in case I had any issues. This mount checked all the boxes for me.
This mount is such a tremendous value, which becomes very apparent the moment you open the box. There is hardware for every scenario in the box (no trips to the hardware store!), the mount is sturdy, everything is well packaged, and the instructions are fantastic. I was able to mount our TV in less than 45 minutes start to finish. Even with our relatively heavy 65” TV mounted, the mount doesn’t bend allowing you to confidently adjust the angle of the TV or reach behind to adjust settings, etc.
The ONLY “issue” I’ve had is that, because of the VESA mounting pattern of our TV, it’s hard for me to reach behind the TV to tighten the angle adjustment screws. This isn’t really a problem though because I mounted the TV up high and need the maximum tilt angle. In short, if you mount a large TV, it’s going to be close to the wall and reaching this screws may be difficult depending on the shape of the back of your TV.
Fantastic product and fantastic value.

The essentials tilting mount is simple and minimalist and does a really good job.
The wall mount width is pretty narrow with wide holes so you can adjust based on your wall and stud layout
The brackets are long and should fit a wide variety of tvs. I'm using a 55" TV.
There are a large variety of spacers and bolts depending on your specific TV. For the wall you've got lag screws and anchors if using drywall
There is an included level for those that don't already have one.
Instructions are clear and there is a paper template to mark your walls. Installation is very easy, the TV just snaps onto the rail as a French cleat style. The spring loaded draw strings allow you to pull out and up to take the TV off.
The tabs at the end of the strings are magnetic so they stay hidden easily.
Tilting level or downward is easy while mounted, provided you can reach your hands behind.
How close your TV goes to the wall will be dependant on how your TV is shaped. How much you can tilt will also be dependant on how high up you mount the brackets
Mine is very thin with a bulky box for the electronics so it sticks out more but I'm not hurting for space so it's ok. Pics below will clarify
Overall, great price for a simple straightforward mount.

A Good Straight Forward TV Mount

I recently received the Insignia TV Mount for my 55-inch TV, and I’m really happy with it over all. It’s made for TVs between 47 and 90 inches, so it’s perfect for almost TV sizes that will be in a living room or even bedrooms.
Install: Setting it up was super easy—it took me less than 2 hours, including hanging the TV. The kit came with everything I needed: a wall template, screws for the back of the TV (though I didn’t need them since I already had my own), bolts for the wall, and a mini level. I used my own level just to make things easier, and everything came together without a hitch. The tools I used out of my own arsenal were my drill, impact drill, drill bits and other drill attachments, and my level. The TV feels really secure on the wall. All that’s left to do is hide the cords, but I’ve already organized them with zip ties.
Quality: This mount is built well. It’s made of heavy-duty steel, so it can definitely handle a large TV. One thing I really liked is the click lock mechanism on the bracket that screws to the TV—it locks in place when you mount the TV on the wall bracket, so you know it’s not going anywhere. The pull strings to unlock the click mechanism have little magnets on them, so you can stick them behind the TV and keep everything looking clean.
Adjustability: The mount is fixed and close to the wall, which is great for me. It’s angled just right to avoid any glare from lights or the sun. Plus, it sits so close to the wall, which helps with viewing angles in the room.
All in all, this Insignia TV Mount is a solid pick if you’re looking to mount your TV. It’s sturdy, easy to install, and will make your tv look good on the wall. I’d definitely recommend it if you want something reliable and straightforward.

Excellent low profile wall mount with some tilt!

This wall mount couldn't come at a better time. I just purchased a 65" Sony TV that I wanted to mount in my bedroom. Being that the location I wanted to mount it is a bit higher than eye level, I wanted a TV mount that would provide a bit of tilt, so when viewing from bed, it's angle downwards, but I wanted something low profile. My current mount can extend and pivot side to side so it's quite thick in the back. Looks kind of messy back there to be honest. My go to low profile mount has been a Sanus OLL15-B1, but that doesn't tilt, so I did not want that mount for this TV..
The Best Buy Essential TV Mount seems sturdy, it can be used on TV's from 47"-84" and up to 110lbs. The TV itself has a flat back and came with screws for a mount, so I didn't need to figure out which screws to use to attach the brackets. The Best Buy mount comes with several screws of varying lengths and spacers. If your TV has a curved back, you should be able to find the rights screw for your application. The metal seems a bit thinner than my normal Sanus mount, but it should do the job, my TV weighs about 75lbs. There are straps that hang down from both mounts that allow you to release the bracket clips from the wall plate. These straps are not adjustable in length (a nice feature to have), but they do have small magnets on the end so it can stick on the mount and stay tucked away.
The brackets has a knob that you can use to adjust the angle of the TV. While this is great for smaller TV sets, on larger TV sets, it is difficult to fit your hand between the TV and the wall once it’s mounted. For me, I just set it on the steepest angle before I mount the TV. The angle varies from -15 degrees to 3 degrees.
Overall, I would recommend this mount for anyone that is looking for a reasonably priced mount that is both slim and has some tilt. Just know the limitations.

I am not terribly handy, but throwing this tilting wall mount up in my living room was pretty easy. My mounting wall is a dry wall and was able to catch two studs with the included hardware. Best Buy includes just about everything you will need in terms of bolts, including screws, bolts, washers, anchors and some spacers in case they are needed. I have posted photos of everything in the box with this review.
The instructions are well written, and easy to follow. This is a very low profile to wall mount, that tilts up and down. Just keep in mind that there will not be a whole lot of room between the TV and the wall. There are other TV mounts that also extend outwards in addition to tilt up and down. Those might be a better option if you need to get behind your TV more often, but for my use case this is worth the relatively low price and good quality. My TV is a 55” 200mm x 400mm VESA pattern, and it feels as sturdy as another TV mount in my home that extends out that was quite a bit more money.
