Quick and Easy cleaning tool for small clean ups

I snack on my couch often when I watch TV and tend to drop crumbs when I snack on pastries. I hate leaving crumbs on my rug so I always have to lug out the vacuum cleaner out of my closet then unwind the electrical cord and find the closest non-occupied outlet. I probably sound dramatic but doing this every time I snack becomes a hassle. When I got chance to get the Bissell cordless vac, I thought an easy way to clean my rug but this thing has been so useful in a cleaning my car and picking up little messes around my garage. Very happy getting this vac, it's 22v so it has great suction. It's a bag-less system, clean out of the dirt container is very easy.
The vac has a very modern look and the small attachment is cleverly stored in the handle next to the battery. It does take a bit of time to charge and also has a good amount of run time. The wand and rug attachments really make this thing useful especially if you want to clean the carpet of your car. I'd highly recommend this for anyone looking for a cleaning tool for quick and small clean ups.

A GOOD FIRST RUN ON THIS, AND A GOOD ALTERNATIVE

When I got this, I had very high expectations for this, and it checked off many boxes, but is missing on a few things.
It is packaged well, and arrived in tact and without any damage at all. The box contents allow you to be able to get everything out without being a puzzle if you had to put things back for some reason.
The vacuum comes partially charged, so you can get started with it right away as the book describes. A fully charged battery, which is removable, allows for 20 minutes of run time - I got more when not using the powered floor head. The detachable battery will aid in keeping the vacuum for years to come, because you'll be able to replace the battery easily - and I'm sure they'll sell more of them so you can charge one and be able to go more than the rated 20 minutes. Nice feature.
The LED lights, on the powered floor head, and the handheld unit itself, are one of the smartest moves in a battery vacuum of this style. The LED's are a bit dim for the job, or maybe they aren't aimed properly, but they do aid in finding the stuff you didn't know you missed. I am so glad Bissell came up with this, and to be honest, this makes it worthwhile all by itself.
I found the disconnect of wants/tools/attachments, while easy enough to do, seems a bit tricky until you get used to it. It uses a ring you slide up and pull apart. Putting these back with a proper alignment also takes practice although they did include some arrows to aid you in this task. Nice touch, thank you!
Emptying the dust bin will require you to stop and detach the tank, empty it, then put it back into place. I'm a bit worried about the snap off and snap on tank situation, but I'm also going to trust Bissell has tested this enough because I've had nothing but great luck with Bissell products over the years.
There is a washable filter, and that is a nice touch, but I didn't find it to be a hepa filter which would have been a plus for a pet vac.
The accessories are all geared around the pet theme, with the felt that grabs the hair and allows that to remove hair from objects in which hair sticks to them, like carpets on floors of cars. And also some of my furniture. This is a nice touch - not one little strip but many, and that made a big difference in removing hair from surfaces.
There is no 'trigger" to pull and hold on to keep it running - it is a simple on/off switch at the top of the unit - and that is a huge plus. There is no high/low speed mode, but really, I don't think you need it. It has plenty of suction and does the job you expect it will do.
On carpet, I found it didn't really have enough weight in the front to bite down into carpet for deep cleaning - instead I see it as more of a surface vacuum with enough suction to get some of the dust/dander out.
As for laminate or wood floors, it is a perfect fit. Same with doing car vacuuming. And since I haul my two dogs in my car, it needs a major cleaning each week - this handles this task well, and I was a little surprised because each week i get alot of dust/dander/fur out of the car and other batter vacs have struggled with this. The attachments and the unit make a very nice unit for both the car and hardwoods.
I wish the LED lights were brighter and/or aimed to see more of the floor where I'm vacuuming, but I'll go with it.....it is better than taping a flashlight to it, which I've done up until now, on my current vacuum.
Please know that I have high expectations for a vacuum, probably much higher than others. But I also have two long haired dogs that create alot of dust/dander/and fur. And I mean alot. This has features like a way to easily remove the roller and clean it, which is really helpful. And you can do other things like wash out the filter and tank. So, you can clean this easily - and since it is a pet vac, that is always a necessary thing.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a vacuum that is battery operated, cleans well, and who does not want to spend more or cannot afford to spend more. It works well, and I'm sure those little changes will eventually come into a new design - but they aren't enough to make you not buy this today.

When this stick vac arrived I put it in the hands of a professional…the woman who helps us around our house. She put it through a bit of a workout everyday for three days. I’m happy to report that she was pleased with its performance and that we can recommend it to others.
Here is a list of pros and cons based on both our experiences.
Pros:
-It gets into smaller spaces than the current stick vac we have.
-It has great swivel action for getting into those tight spaces.
-She was impressed with the Bissell’s row of headlights. It even has good lighting when using it as a hand held vac. Great for not so well lit stairways. I’ve never seen a handheld vac with lights. Nice idea.
-She remarked as to how simple the emptying and filter cleaning was. Kudos there.
-It has the unique ability to do great job on throw rugs without clamping down on them and sucking them up.
-Yet, it has no problem picking up cat litter without scattering it around. That is our litmus test of a good stick vac.
Cons:
-She didn't like the excessive friction fit of the attachments because they are very hard to separate. She thought that method of connecting attachments would be more typically found on a cheap $50 stick vac rather than a $200 stick vac.
-Being an engineer, I don't like how all the attachments depend on the one adapter piece. If you misplace the adapter you can’t use any of the attachments.
-I wish this stick vac came with a recharging/storage stand. We’re not sure what we’re suppose to do with this vac when not in use. It won’t stand up by itself, we’re not going to let lean on and mar up our walls and we can't leave it lay on the hallway floor. Because it has two plastic “feet” under the motor housing it appears that this stick vac is meant to reside horizontally on the floor. Who has that kind of closet floor space?
Overall, I can still recommend it, but docked the review down from five stars to four stars because there is no upright storage.

The Bissell 2151 Multi-Reach Cordless Vacuum is reliable, convenient, and an overall efficient tool for cleaning both home and vehicle. It helps avoid things like having to bending over to reach remote spots. Its LED lighting ensures good visibility of areas to be cleaned. It has a short run-time of around twenty minutes – great for touch-ups but short for whole house cleaning. Like most vacuums of this style its dirt cup / dust bin is rather small and may need to be emptied frequently. It does not come with a wall hanger making storage a little clumsy. It looks nice and functions well with good suction while still being very light.

The BISSELL - MultiReach Bagless Cordless Stick Vacuum is just what I needed. The ease of using it without a cord is a delight and the battery seems to hold plenty of charge. The suction is powerful and the various attachments and configurations are very easy to switch out. The powered floor attachment also has plenty of power.
I also like the fact that, if needed, I can remove the batter and charge it separately without any additional electronics.
All-in-all, this is the portable, lighter-duty vacuum I've been needing.

I love this vac! I especially love the versatility of this vacuum as I have chosen to use it mainly as my car cleaning tool. The unit was easy to assemble and the suctioning of this vacuum is good—really good!! This is my second Bissell vacuum as I have the Air Ram 2in1 stick vacuum in which I rated too low in my initial evaluation of the unit. The unit has served me extremely well for my vacuuming needs. I was elated to test another of Bissell’s products because of my success with the first unit. If you’re in need of a vacuum that is multi-faceted but performs extremely well, then this unit may be for you!

This vacuum offers a surprising suction power in a small form factor, but leaves much to be desired in terms of battery life.
Pros:
Suction - I was very impressed with this vacuum’s ability to provide a solid clean on a first pass. Even with the extension arm, I never have to worry if I am cleaning everything.
Build/ portability - As a stick vacuum, you expect a light, portable form factor and this does not disappoint. The easy empty bin was nice also. I do, however, wish they offered a storage rack to help keep track of all the useful accessories.
Cons:
Battery life - This is really the biggest (only) concern with this vacuum. If you are performing quick touch ups then this should do you fine, but if you are taking care of big jobs (IE cleaning an entire car) you might want to plan ahead for some battery recharge breaks.
Overall, I think that this vacuum is a welcome addition to any home. For most, it will not be enough to stand on its own, but would still provide a nice solution to those quick touch ups around the house.

This is now my go to vacuum for small jobs from around the house to the car and boat. Comes with 4 attachments, battery and a charger. I wish it had a wall mount with storage for all the attachments. The crevice tool (stored inside the handle for your convenience) is the one I find my self using the most. Great for them hard to reach places like between your car seat and center consul. Has good power and suction for most jobs. And I was very pleased with the battery life. I found my self making a mess just to give this vacuum a test. Works very well on hard wood and tile floors along with low pile carpet. I have one area rug that is shag carpet that did take 2 or 3 passes to pick most of the stuff I put on it. But for the most part this thing can handle most every day jobs around the house. It's lightweight and comfortable in my hand. Oh and one of the best features is the built-in LED lights. Great for them low light situations. All in all I am very happy with this cordless vacuum from bissell.

An excellent choice in the stick vac category

As far as stick type vacuums go, this is a pretty good unit. If you've tried stick vacuums in the past, as i have, they were little more than toys. No suction, no versatility, the Ni-Cad batteries would give you 10 minutes run at the most, and lose power all through the cycle. Best suited to pick up corn flakes you spilled at breakfast time. That all started to change with the arrival of the Dysons, arguably the leader in this category. Now, this category is starting to approach the utility of a standard vac - almost.
The Bissell follows the usual stick format; power unit & dirt bin at the top of the handle, brush & roller at the bottom. With 2 longhair dogs, my biggest concern is pet hair, which is usually not on the menu for stick units. While i expected it to do a decent job on the hardfloor, i was pleasantly suprised at how well it performed on an area rug. The collector bin is obviously not going to hold a lot of hair, but it's up to the task if you just want to give a small area a quick fixup. The rotating brushes give the rug a good lift & tug; when you're done, the brush will pop out for easier cleaning. My full size Bissell dedicated pet hair collector has specially shaped brushes that tangle less easily, but as i said, while the stick is not meant for that, it will do the job in a pinch.
An ongoing concern with vacuums is noise level. I'm sorry to say there's no help here. It might be a bit less than a full size, but it's a different kind of noise; having a high speed motor, the pitch of the noise is higher as opposed to more bassy growl that you'd get from a canister type vac. The good news here is that noise = power, and the Bissell provides probably quite a bit more suction than what you'd expect from a stick. The power is generated from that high rpm motor and the 22 volt battery that powers it. The Li-ion battery provides about 20 minute run times, and the power doesn't fade much as the battery runs down.
While this is going to live it's life mostly in the kitchen area, the feature i appreciate most is the ability to take it apart and use the crevice & upholstery tools. I can take it out to the car, and it has more than enough run time to do the rugs, seats, & trunk. It's also nicely balanced & lightweight enough so that i can use it in standard mode with the crevice tool or dust brush to reach up for those spider & dust webs that collect in the ceiling corners.
I always hated emptying those dust bin collectors, but this one works about as well as a device of this type can. The LED lights on the brush head are more than decoration, they're bright enough to be of some help when reaching under a couch or table. And while doing that, it'll lay down almost horizontally flat, so you can get good reach.
Overall, i found this to be a hard working & versatile unit.

This stick vac is great for quick clean up jobs or whole house cleaning. It really is lightweight enough that it doesn't wear your arm out. The power head works great on carpets and wood floors, and has a low profile and is highly maneuverable. It simplifies vacuuming by making it quick and easy.

cleans well, worried about longevity

this is a basic battery powered stick vacuum.
whats in the box: charging cable, the vacuum, 4 accessories (round brush, powered brush roll, hard floor attachment and crevice attachment). First con right off the bat: no way to store any of this. No wall attachment. Once its out of the box, you have to find somewhere to put it all.
Use: pretty easy. one push button for on/off. Easy quick connects to attach and remove attachments. Dust bin is large enough, though there is no button to push to remove it, you just yank it with force (one of the things i'm worried about with longevity). There are LED lights on the body itself, and the powered brush roll, which is nice.
Cons: I'm worried about quality. As i said, you have to just yank on the dust bin to remove it, it feels like this will loosen over time doing this. The power button is hard to push, you have to push pretty hard to get the vacuum to turn on or off, i thought it was broken at first. The powered brush roll is belt driven, thus it is heavy on one side. As soon as you life the vacuum off of the ground it rotates fully to one side. This gets annoying as it makes it more difficult to set back down on the ground. Try vacuuming stairs with this, you get annoyed pretty quickly.
All in all: For the price, look at one of the competitors. This does clean well, but I feel that all of the cons outweigh the pros.

It was super nice and worked great for all about 2 months... then it randomly wouldn't vacuum anything up. We don't mistreat our belongings So it wasn't from proper handling. But we didn't purchase the warranty package on it considering it was brand new we expected to last at least a year or 2. Nope. So now it's been sitting in my closet for several months taking up space. Every once in a while I try and see of I can figure it out. But other than that I regret my purchase entirely.
