After carefully reading and considering all the reviews, we decided to give the purple and silver a try. I am THRILLED with our new shampooer! We inherited three houses with 10 - 40 year old wall to wall carpeting - two even have carpet in the kitchen! :( We've been cleaning regularly with 2 previous other brand machines that did ok - or so I thought. I can hardly believe the difference! What I discovered was that the other machines weren't getting up the shampoo! I spent 2+ hours just going over one carpet again and again with plain water after I had shampooed it. The kitchen carpet was FILTHY! The machine just kept pulling out more and more dirt and old shampoo. Even the nap on the carpets has been restored. We keep going in just to look at how clean they are now. - so clean that they squeak when we walked on them! Some stains are permanent, but at least I know they are clean now! Even with how many times I re-cleaned and rinsed, the carpets were still dry by morning. Love the special sprayer for spots - we had a bunch. You just have to be ready to shut it off. Super easy to clean up the machine compared to my old cleaner. Love the flexible insert to get out stuck muck. Cover easily came off and reattached! The dirty water tank does fill up quick, but so did the tanks on my other machines. Not a big deal considering how well it cleaned. The double roller really makes a difference. We got an extended warranty as I anticipate this cleaner will see hard use! Thank you Bissell. I am VERY happy!

Over the past 30 years I have owned three Bissell carpet cleaners/shampooers and this one is the absolute best one! I had the Big Green Machine which did a famous job cleaning carpets but was difficult to move around and clean after using; the Model No 9200 ProHeat 2X did a great job cleaning carpets, not as well as the Big Green Machine, was easy to use but was a real pain to clean after using---I am a stickler for thoroughly cleaning my tools/equipment after using them; this model 3588 combines excellent cleaning mower, ease of use, and even easier to clean up when finished, plus a one gallon solvent reservoir make it the perfect machine for me. The one "con", if you can consider it a con at all, is the pickup tank has low "fill" level that needs to be emptied often. Not complaining, as this model really sucks up the water/solvent mixture allowing the carpet to dry very fast.

Looks rugged in the pictures but in fact these are small capacity water containers. The clean water tank holds a gallon of the water/ cleaner solution BUT the dirty water tank is VERY SMALL, Its crazy, so many trips to empty it out.... the looks are decieving. I have some images showing the dirty water tank, it looks huge but in fact, you will see the side view where the "fill" line is. Overall the cleaning aspect was quite good but wayyyy to many trips to refill and empty, just doesnt hold much. If this one conks out, Id go for a more professional size one, at least Id save half a day running up/down stairs to empty the small tank.

This has been great for the office. I had a Hoover before but this thing really gets in the carpet to clean up any stains from the back and forth traffic from the machine shop workers. Our carpets continue to look new !

Definitely recommend!!! So easy to use, easy to clean amazing results!! After meticulously, searching for the perfect Carpet cleaner, I finally made the decision to purchase this one. The first time I used it I was shocked at the result! The difference was amazing and the quality is impressive.

works well, but we have had issues with it leaking and have only owned it for a month and a half. I am going to return this unit as defective and get a replacement, if it’s better after that then the score may become updated. The heat part isn’t really noticeable but the double scrubbers work well.

First of all, if you don’t already know that you NEED a carpet and upholstery cleaner, well YOU DO! After using one you will be shocked to find how much filth you’ve actually been living in. You will be thrilled to learn just how clean and new you can keep your carpet, furniture, and car! I’ve had several Carpet Cleaners over the years and this is by the best ever! I love the two separate nozzle attachments as well as how you can see the water being sucked back up through the window of the machine and one of the nozzles. I’m amazed just how dry I am able to get to so quickly . And I really drench the heck out of whatever I’m cleaning. I’m amazed to see how dirty the water gets after cleaning a small section. I’ve been cleaning an old fabric chair and my husband is impressed with what a difference this machine has made! No one thought this chair was salvageable.

Did some research and this model seemed to be recommended for home carpet cleaning. It definitely lived up to the hype!

My cat had surgery recently for 3 kidney stones. He was not pleased with the surgery. When I woke up the next morning, I found this poop stripe with him proudly owning it. Fortunately my new Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus Corded Upright Carpet Deep Cleaner cleaned it fast with just a few back and forth sweeps.

Works perfectly for any pre treated stain! Absolutely love. Highly recommend!

Messy dirty cleaner. Took forever to clean and smells something is butning everytume i turn it in. One side sprayer only. My rug should be white not dirty still. Im contacting customer support or return this before i get respiratory problems and neurological.

This carpet cleaner surpassed expectations. It seems to clean about as well as those rental cleaners. No complaints. Only a couple notes for others considering purchasing. There really needs to be note or sticker for the first time use. There is an alarming burning smell for the first 30-ish seconds. This seems to be the water heater burning off manufacturing juice or something. The directions do not suggest it, but making a second (or even a third) pass over the carpet with plain water is beneficial. It is amazing how much dirt is lifted out even with just water. Plus it helps remove any remaining cleaning solution which, when dry, can cause future dirt to stick to the carpet. Plus, you are suppose to run plain water through the cleaner anyway when finished using it The only complaint is that the dirty water container fills too fast (at about 1/4 full, the float blocks off the vacuum). You end up dumpling the dirty water 3 times for each clean tankful.
