Having held bitcoin for years, I've always struggled with how difficult it is to set up and use hardware wallets. You have to manage complex seed phrases, not store them online, and work with tiny screens. Bitkey, by contrast, is simple to set up (took me 5 minutes to set up and only a few more minutes to move Bitcoin into the wallet), really easy to onboard Trusted Contacts to help you recover, and is frankly just a beautiful product. It's hefty, premium, and exactly what I need for storing my bitcoin.

There are different types of hardware wallets and I have to say that this specific one is one of the easiest to configure and has a very peculiar design. In the box comes the hardware wallet, a usb-c to usb-a charging cable and some documentation. You need to download the Bitkey app and follow the instructions for setting up the device. The process is simple although it requires some steps to ensure the possibility of recovery in case of losing the phone or the hardware wallet itself. A backup is made in the cloud in my case that my phone has ios operating system is backed up in icloud, you can also add trusted contacts that, although they do not have access to the funds or the account as such, will be helpful in case you need to regain access to the funds if you were to lose the phone or hardware wallet. The Bitkey device registers one or more fingerprints, requiring the finger to be placed in different positions between 15 and 20 times to ensure correct registration. This is done at the time of configuration and it is necessary to have the device close to the phone since the communication between the phone and the device is through NFC. Once you have configured the device and the digital wallet in the app, you can start making transfers, receiving and sending bitcoin, as well as buying and selling it. There are different exchanges to buy, and in fact it is possible to make bitcoin purchases by paying with apple pay, which I consider an advantage if you have an iphone. On the main screen of the app the current balance is shown (this can be hidden in settings) and below are the options to add more bitcoin, add trusted contacts, more fingerprints, and set a maximum limit for spending without having the Bitkey device, just the app. You can only use the defined amount, if you need to use more money it will be necessary to have the hardware wallet on hand to authorize transfers that exceed the daily limit, something quite useful and safe. I think the design is one of the most striking things, in my opinion it is minimalist and attractive, although it should be mentioned that it does not have any kind of screen, only an indicator LED and the fingerprint sensor and the charging port. Although this device does not grant full custody of the crypto, it is a good alternative for those who want to buy bitcoin and do not want to face the complications of the different layers of security such as seed phrases or difficult passwords of other hardware wallets. In addition, you can enable facial recognition to access the app, which I find very convenient in case someone wants to access our resources without our authorization. At this time that the device has a discount, I consider it a good investment and a unique device that provides security but at the same time ease to activate an account and start making bitcoin transactions with confidence, I can certainly recommend it.

The first thing I thought when I opened this package is... wow, it’s heavy and hexagonal. It's got this six sided shape with a front face that looks like natural stone, complete with swirls and flecks. They say it’s one of a kind but I don’t have a way to compare it with other bitkeys. It's eye-catching, but since it’s storing a key to your bitcoin, maybe it didn’t need to be so flashy. Functionality: If you’re wanting a device like this, then knowing how it works is probably the most important thing. Bitkey uses a 3-key setup. Your keys are split between the hardware device, your phone, and Block's servers. This means you don't have to deal with seed phrases. You need to have two of the three keys to unlock your bitcoin. Depending on how you look at it, this is could be considered an extra security layer or a protection from losing or having to deal with a massive seed phrase. I have to say, it makes me uneasy not knowing my root phrase, although, the idea of carrying your own bitcoin with safety net features is pretty compelling. Usually when you make something easier, you give up some security, but it’s within my threshold of risk. The app is user-friendly, making it easy to manage your Bitcoin. However, there are some drawbacks. The lack of a display on the Bitkey itself means you're relying entirely on your phone to verify addresses, which isn't ideal for security. Also, the reliance on Block's servers raises some privacy concerns in my mind – they know a lot about your transactions and personal info so let’s hope they have top notch security at their servers. It is SUPER EASY to move bitcoin from Coinbase and Cash App Price-wise, it's in the premium range at $150, competing with established players like Ledger and Trezor. You get the device, a USB-C cable, and some documentation in the box. The build quality seems solid, with a stainless steel back adding durability and some panache. I’m glad it has some heft so you know you have positive possession of the device without having to pat your pocket all the time. Compared to the other devices out there, the Bitkey can only carry bitcoin, whereas the other cryptocoin wallets can carry other coins. It runs on NFC, which is definitely different from the USB C connections others have, and it is a definite non-frictional plus to making the system work efficiently. And, the fingerprint sensor is great for fast and secure unlocking. These guys are the same guys who do Square and Cash App so it was bound to be streamlined and easy. I really do like the ease of use of transfer to the bitkey, but I do have a few questions about it. Is it really bitcoin self-custody and what happens to the transaction data that they carry at thier servers? Overall, Bitkey is a pretty cool entry in the bitcoin hardware wallet scene and I’d recommend you give it a go.

This is the next level in Crypto wallet technology. It's small and compact. Not heavy but feels like it was made with quality materials. It works with your fingerprint. An app is available to see your assets in the wallet. In the box comes the wallet unit, a charging cable and two piece of paper with instructions on how to get started and how to setup. Setup was easy. You touch the finger print module to turn it on. Then tap your unit against the back of the phone to pair you unit with he app. No KYC is needed. After the initial setup with the app it was very easy to transfer Bitcoin to the wallet. The transfer was extremely fast and accurate. The app is easy to use and maneuver. Fingerprint access can be setup to use on the app. The app has the capability of buying, selling, sending and receiving Bitcoin. Overall, this is a great crypto wallet for anyone in the market for one. I feel my Bitcoin is safe and secure with this wallet. I like that you can monitor your bitcoin as it grows in value.

So this is the first hardware wallet I’ve ever owned. For now, it seems to only support bitcoin. Which is the only crypto I’ve invested some money into. Anyway, to keep myself from being tempted to sell off my crypto and to secure it for long term holding, I decided to try a hardware wallet. I’ve never heard of this brand before but I thought I’d try it out. It was super easy to set up, literally took me only a few seconds to set it up and get it going on my iPhone. Transferring my bitcoin from cash app to the Bitkey was also very quick. I did the zero fee exchange, and it was transferred in under 24 hours. Time will tell just how secure and reliable the wallet will be 😬 but for now it was really seamless and easy to use. I love the fingerprint reader for securing the wallet, It will not connect to the app without your fingerprint unlock first. You can add upto three fingerprints for unlocking. I let my wife set one up as well in case anything ever happens to me. Some piece of mind for holding onto bitcoin. I only plan on using the app and wallet for holding bitcoin for a long term investment, but you can buy, sell, trade bitcoin within the app. Currently it is compatible with cash app, moon pay, coonbase and Robin Hood. There is no need for a “seed phrase” with this device as it is all taken care of by Bitkey. I never really liked the idea of using a seed phrase to recover your crypto. It seems that Bitkey is a work in progress, their app has some features locked away that say “coming soon”, and their website says that the wallet and services will be evolving over time. I’m excited for it, and look forward to what’s next. For now, I really like it. It’s been easy to use, has multiple security features and so far I trust it. Would I recommend this wallet? Yes, especially if you are kind of new to this. I was a little intimidated about transferring my bitcoin onto other hardware wallets, because you need a computer and other software. Bitkey simplifies the process of transferring your bitcoin to a wallet while keeping it super secure.

Over the last several years (and again over the last few months), crypto has taken center stage. I’ve read and heard too many horror stories related to hacks and people losing their investment, so I wanted to use a product built with quality before risking any of my money. I’ve been very interested in grabbing some crypto, but to be very honest, I just don’t get why it’s all so difficult – I have always suspected that the process can be simplified, but it seems like there are so many hurdles. This device is helping to ease that transition. I just bought it and connected it, but it seems like the Bitkey is the solution that I’ve been looking for. According to my research, this product was one of Time Magazine’s best inventions of 2024. There are no passwords, but the wallet uses fingerprints. It is built by the team behind Square and Cash App – smart people who are experts in keeping hackers away from my money. You can keep your crypto off of the web if you want, or you can have it on the web and ready to trade. As I absorb all of this information, it’s giving me much more comfort. Bitkey makes the process to get started easy. It’s a solid feeling device that weighs a few ounces – in other words it doesn’t feel cheap. They provide a QR code in the packaging that directs you to the app (or you can just go to the app store) – this activates the phone's NFC reader to connect to the wallet and start investing in crypto. You set the fingerprint and you are ready to go. The app is user friendly and offers recovery options in case you lose or upgrade your phone. Based on my work with the app, it then looks very easy to buy crypto along with the exchange fees (note – Bitkey states they don’t charge any fees). Unfortunately, the prices have spiked so much that I haven’t purchased any yet, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to purchase as it seems like there will be a pull back very soon. At least I’m all set and ready to pounce if there is a fall in prices – I’ve included pictures of the app and process that includes the different exchanges. This is a pretty exciting time – I wish I had picked this up a few months ago, but I’m ready to pick up some crypto and make some money and not feel like my wallet is going to be hacked.

If you look at the included USB-C to USB-A cable upon unboxing, you may think a laptop or desktop computer is required to connect, but that isn’t the case. The wallet leverages NFC to pair seamlessly with a phone. This makes the initial setup quick and convenient - so long as your phone has NFC. If you’re buying a crypto wallet - especially in this price range, your phone likely has it, but double check. Creating an account and backing up the setup were both simple and user-friendly, but if anonymity is your priority, you aren’t going to be happy with this device. Given the relative transparency of Bitcoin itself, I was not concerned. Once the app is set up, transferring Bitcoin to the wallet is effortless. A QR code allows for quick transfers, while an option to copy the address ensures compatibility with exchanges or other wallets. The smooth and intuitive transfer process demonstrates how well-thought-out the app and wallet integration is. Just keep the device close to your phone. ***Features and Functionality:*** Bitkey’s functionality extends beyond basic Bitcoin storage. Integrated options for buying and selling Bitcoin through trusted partners in the app make managing crypto not only secure but also convenient. The multisig feature provides an added layer of security, and onboarding Trusted Contacts for recovery is particularly useful for those new to Bitcoin ownership. The wallet also seamlessly integrates with major exchanges like Coinbase, Cash App, Robinhood, and Moonpay, simplifying fund transfers. While it excels in Bitcoin support, the wallet _is_ limited to BTC only. Its size and heft mean you won’t be forgetting it in a pocket - so take that as the double-edged sword it is. ***Conclusion:*** The Bitkey hardware wallet is an excellent choice for anyone focused on securely and easily storing Bitcoin. Its premium design, intuitive setup process, and seamless app integration make it one of the most user-friendly hardware wallets on the market. While the device’s size, weight and lack of a keychain option lift other options up, I would still give the product 5 stars. What knocks it down a peg for me is its BTC-only compatibility.

let's first start with the look of this bitkey bitcoun hardware wallet. omg. i'm a huge fan of anything styled in black or gray and this hits all the stylish points for me, it's marble for goodness sake. the hexahon shape is pretty cool as well. this is the first i've seen that really stands out and makes you want to have it over the others. Granted the look of a bitcoin hardware wallet is nothing to compare on its functionality. after you fully charge it, all you have to do is press the button and it will say 'hello'. this as a small level of human comfort that the bitkey is on and working. the others dont have this feature. again, its the little things that i appreciate. this wallet is good for beginners and anyone with any knowledge in bitcoin. this wallet allow you to be in control of your finances. but in the event that you are unable to act on your behalf, you can set up an emergency contact and recover kit. so no more losing what is rightfully yours. it pairs with my phone easily and i'm setup and ready to move around in less that 30 mins but def dont rush the process.

The gorgeous appearance of marble in a stylistic design will attract a new generation of cryptocurrency users. The basic setup & simple operation will build confidence with a logical, easy-to-use operation. Requiring only an iPhone or Android wirelessly connected using NFC to initialize Bitkey, this is the easiest wallet to set up that I have encountered. Once you teach it your fingerprint, the fun begins as you explore the world of cryptocurrency! My favorite online exchange is Coinbase. Bitkey integrates with Coinbase like a hand in a glove. Clearly the designers had Coinbase in mind as they created Bitcoin. Moving funds around has never been easier. Security is clearly the highest priority with Bitkey. This is particularly evident, as you do not have to transact over the internet, whether you are buying more coin or cashing out. In case you lose the hardware, there is a bullet proof recovery process. During setup, you simply add trusted contacts in the beginning to prepare for the eventuality that if you lose Bitkey, the built-in safety net has you covered. A USB-A to USB-C charging cable is included, along with the Bitkey wallet & "Ownership Begins Here" guide. Bitkey earns my highest recommendation for the beginning cryptocurrency user, as well as for the experienced pro.

Its a well-designed wallet and feels really high-quality. The setup was super easy and only took a few minutes. Moving all my bitcoin over was also quick and intuitive. I also love that I can buy and sell my bitcoin in the app through their integrated partners. Overall, I'd highly recommend Bitkey to keep your bitcoin secure.

The challenge with trying to use bitcoin on mobile is most the time you are using a service that stores your bitcoin on their server. This means if anything happens they actually have the bitcoins and not you. The nice thing with bitkey is it’s on a physical wallet, so it’s with you. To get started it’s pretty simple. Just plug in to charge and then get the app and follow instructions. The wallet is setup with your fingerprint so you are the only one with access. Then anytime you need to access you just press it with your fingerprint. The app remembers what you have but you cannot do any transactions without the wallet. The one down side is that right now this only supports bitcoin. So if you use other crypto you’d be stuck with having to do something else. I’m hoping through software updates this can change and it’s the one reason I only have it 4 stars as most the time your using more then just one crypto currency. Overall though good addition to anyone using mobile and bitcoin to have a physical wallet.

As the holidays roll around and hopefully we see the economy improve I am more interested in Bitcoin and other currencies. The BitKey Wallet is sleek, modern, and has a sophisticated texture to it. I've had a bit wallet before but it was very dated and it seemed like something I would easily lose. This BitKey is a conversation starter for sure. I had it near my desk and someone complimented it not knowing what it was. I love that it is USB C rechargeable and that it doesn't need the other kind of USB charging. Updating the device is super simple, you just hold it up to your smartphone and you're done. The application and setup took about 3-4 minutes from profile to update. When you prompt the application to open, the homepage is easy on the eyes without a lot of fuss. At the top you have your balance, a line graph with the status of BitCoin, four buttons to buy, sell, transfer or send. Then you have your tab for your devices profile, an option for your apps appearance, and notification settings to start. My favorite part of the BitKey Wallet is the fingerprint scanner on the device. I am not sure I am going to make the jump to buy BitCoin today given the price but hopefully I can convert some of my stock into BitCoin soon. The only downside to this wallet is that it only supports one currency but that was the whole reason I got the wallet. This is the ideal stocking stuffer for the person who has currency, wants to explore bitcoin, or is a pro and wants something to hold their funds.

I walked into a Best Buy to ask for a Bitkey and I needed to order it online. It came in the mail and I was able to set it up in 10 minutes and connect to my Cash App account to buy bitcoin. It’s really easy to use, I was able to set my son as a trusted contact, and this seems like the best way for me to securely hold my bitcoin.
