Customers are satisfied with the multiple speeds, long battery life, timer, sleek design, and quiet operation of the Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush. They appreciate the modern look of the toothbrush and the fact that it operates quietly compared to other electric toothbrushes. The soft bristles, however, were a point of contention for some users.

    Excellent Clean, but Lacking Refinement

The Boka electric toothbrush is a cost effective way to get far superior cleaning when compared to a standard toothbrush. After a single gentle brushing with the Boka, it was clear that my teeth had been more thoroughly cleaned than when I use my standard toothbrush. My teeth feel glossy and smooth on all sides. The effectiveness of 30,000 vibrations per minute is pretty impressive. My teeth literally feel clean all day! It’s great! ...I also feel good knowing that I am producing less physical waste (compared to having to throw away a full manual toothbrush every few months). That being said, the Boka dost not feel as refined as my wife’s Burst toothbrush. For example, the charging base of the Boka is shallow meaning that if the toothbrush is bumped, it will absolutely fall off of the dock. Also, the Boka’s handle is rounded which means it also easily knocked over when it is freestanding. The bottom of the Burst Toothbrush is squared and it sits deeper into the base - meaning that the Burst toothbrush is far less prone to falling over when it is bumped (while in the base, or while standing on its own). The handle of the Boka is round and made out of a smooth plastic that doesn’t offer a particularly comfortable grip. The Burst toothbrush feels more comfortable in the hand as it is more ergonomically angled and covered with a slightly rubberized material. The back of the Boka toothbrush heads are smooth plastic while the Burst heads feature rubber nubs that clean the insides of your cheeks while you brush - and can be used as a tongue scraper. While the Burst toothbrush offers more refinement and more color options (black, white, & rose gold), I feel that the Boka toothbrush cleans nearly as well. It is important to note that the shape of the Boka bristles are more of a rounded curve while the Burst offers a pointy surface that will get further in between the teeth (which is something that they brag about on their infomercial which shows them cleaning coffee grounds from the crevices in between kernels on a cob of corn). If you are someone who struggles to floss frequently, the Boka will probably do a better job of cleaning between teeth. ***See the attached pictures for a visual comparison of the bristle shape. Where the Boka toothbrush comes out ahead is price (assuming that the bush heads last the same length of time as the Burst brush heads). The Boka replacement heads cost $5.00 each (when purchased as a 2-pack for $10), or $4.00 each if you are willing to sign up for a subscription replacement plan (where Boka will ship 2 replacement heads every 90 days for $8.00). The Burst replacement heads are $7.00 each (or $8.00 for the Rose Gold color). Burst’s subscription price is $6.00 per replacement head which are shipped out each 90 days. If cost is the most important factor, I would go with the Boka brush. I am confident that nearly everyone will be pleased with how well it cleans. But, If you are willing to pay just a few dollars more for replacement heads then the Burst brush will give greater comfort, convenience, and bristle shape.

This is it! Having been an electric toothbrush user for over a decade, I have tried all of the leaders on the market. Simply put, the Boka brush is by far the best I have tried. Everyone in the house will be getting these for the Holidays. Other E brushes tend to get water and buildup in hard to reach places making cleaning the brush and handle an often necessity. The buildup on and under those brush heads can get pretty nasty if neglected at all, and to me, that is a major turnoff knowing you have to put this in your mouth to brush your teeth. The Boka is designed to effectively eliminate this issue. The head snaps on (instead of screwing on) easily, leaving only a small space in between the head and handle for water, toothpaste, and germs to occupy. In no way is this a problem, or even a fraction of the problem of other top E brushes. You can easily rinse away the excess toothpaste and germs with warm/hot water, leaving your brush looking brand new after each use. With its modern design, there are no hard to reach places to clean on the Boka. Cleanliness is of major importance to me in the toothbrush department, so I am calling this my number one “like.” I can’t comment on the longevity of the brush head compared to others as I am still on the first one (my package came with two), but if everything else I have loved about the Boka is an indication, I am confident that the brush heads will last a long time. I can definitely comment on the feel of the brush, which is outstanding. Much better than the competition. It’s an activated charcoal brush, which is currently all the rage. The bristles are soft and the design allows for them to massage your gums gently, but effectively while brushing. So much that I actually enjoy brushing again. There are three speeds available when brushing. Low (or slow vibration), medium speed, and high speed. I find that I like the medium setting best so far. The high speed vibrates so fast that it actually tickles my gums. Definitely a weird sensation! There is also a built in 30 second timer that pauses the brush so you can move to a different section. You will get three pauses and a total of two minutes brush time before it turns off. If that isn’t enough, do two sessions in a row. I find myself doing this occasionally because it feels great. The battery seems excellent. Brushing two and sometimes three times per day, I haven’t had to charge it but about once per week and even then, it is still going strong, so I am confident it will last even longer. This means your weekend/short trips will be more than covered if you forget the base. The base is also magnetic, so it’s easy to store and more secure. Love this feature. The base is also USB making charging easy even from a portable battery pack. Nice feature for campers! I suppose my only gripe is that I wish the package included a hard shell plastic snap case for throwing it in your luggage, backpack, purse, etc. Bottom line. Dental hygiene is extremely important, so why not get the best brush you have access to? Do yourself a favor and get one today. Your teeth and gums will be so excited! PROS: Very easy to keep clean Modern design aesthetic Functionality and brushing speeds Excellent battery Magnetic USB base Availability of charcoal brushes Lightweight, but sturdy CONS: No travel case

Nice looking electric toothbrush for new users

The Boka Electric Toothbrush is my second foray into electric toothbrush use - I previously used a Philips Sonicare which was doing a decent job. The Boka brush, however, takes a rather different approach, where the overall design and ergonomics take priority over other things. The brush looks very clean and elegant looking, and the magnetic charging station is very eye-catching. It lights up when you’ve put the brush on the charging base in a very particular way (see pictures). The set comes with two heads. There are only 2 options you can choose from as far as brushing is concerned. I didn’t feel any change in speed between the 2 settings, it felt like the pulsating motion/pattern has changed a bit. The brush head themselves are quite soft and felt nice. Overall the Boka brush is a nicely styled electric brush which is easy and straightforward to use. I think new users should be able to use it quite well. I would recommend this if you’re looking for first electric toothbrush.

Pros: * Very stylish handle and recharging base. * Long battery life. * Very good cleaning. * Less expensive brush heads. Cons: * 2 min timer neglects the flat teeth surfaces (like most similar electric toothbrushes). * Light bleed in the base and handle very visible at night. My Review: There are two really big names in electric toothbrushes. This is not one of them, but should be. It’s a sonic-type brusher and looks at first glance like the big-name brush, but it’s a better value and is (at least to me) more stylish when sitting on your bathroom counter between uses. The handle is light but still has sufficient weight to feel substantial. It has a single light and a single button, and nice little “feet” on the back so when placed laying down on your counter it won’t roll away so easily. The black bristles on the brush head are a bit disconcerting at first, but you get used to it and they (supposedly) serve a purpose. The charging stand is very compact and the handle magnetically attaches to it vertically. The base is well-weighted so you can just pull the handle off without fear of the base coming with it. In normal light, there is a white light ring around the base to indicate when the handle is charging as well as a red LED on the handle itself. This brings me to one of my small nits about the Boka brush… when the room lights go down, you can see these lights bleed through the plastic bits to make it all look not so great. Sure, that’s just aesthetics, but the handle and base look so nice otherwise. The other nit seems to unfortunately be common among most if not all electric toothbrushes. They all seem to advertise a 2-minute countdown timer with some sort of indication at 30-second intervals. This is supposed to help you time your brushing to get the inside and outside upper and lower sets of teeth per 30-second cycle. That’s great, but what about the flats on your molars? They all seem to forget about them so after the brush turns itself off after 2 minutes, I need to turn it back on to get those flat areas, too. Why not add another 2x 30-second cycles for the upper and lower flats? Replacement brush heads are not as easy to find as the other guys’ heads, but they are much less expensive and mail order is easy enough if you plan ahead. Anyway, overall, the Boka brush is a really stylish alternative to the other 2 big-name brands. It seems to clean at least as well and looks really nice when not in use (except at night).

Wow! Boka takes your dental hygiene to another level! First, I love how minimal, sleek and classy it looks on my bathroom counter. And the fact I don’t have to buy batteries is a plus! The bristles are super soft and infused with active charcoal. Does not hurt and is perfect for those with sensitive teeth and gums. I never really timed my brushing, but with this one you will actually brush your teeth for the proper length of time. Overall I love everything about the Boka Electric Toothbrush and how clean my teeth feels after every use. I could not recommend this enough. Now I need to get one for my husband.

I’ve been using a Braun electric toothbrush for years, and have tried getting my wife to use one but she doesn’t care for the noise and all the vibration this Braun has so she sticks with her manual brush. I saw there was a new sonic brush out by Boka and figured why not see if she’ll use it. Unpacking and setting up: The brush comes in a really nice box, very well protected in a full foam interior box. Inside is the brush, two brush heads, charging base, usb cable, usb charger and manual. What I really liked about the base unit is that it’s heavy and won’t tip over easily. It’s also non directional so you can place the brush on it any direction you want. The base plugs into a standard micro USB cable, and comes with a simple USB wall charger. I tried this on a couple different chargers and a battery pack; they all worked for charging the brush. It’s nice to see you can have multiple charging options. The base itself appears to be sealed up really good, the only opening is the USB port, the rest is covered in a smooth rubbery finish. Placing the brush on the charger is easy enough, and the base is slightly magnetic so it centers itself very easily. Once on the base there’s a red led that glows on the brush and the charging base has a glowing white ring around it. Comparing this to my Braun, there’s only one power button which also cycles through three different speed settings “High, Medium, and Low, plus once you select a setting you like the brush remembers it the next time you use it. My Braun has a power button and another button to select different levels, the Braun has built in Bluetooth, “which I never use”. The Boka is more streamlined then the Braun and very easy to hold on to. Use: I was able to convince my wife to try this one out so her comments about actual use follow: I never liked my husband’s Braun toothbrush, it makes too much noise and I really don’t like the vibrating head, it’s too rough feeling, like it’s shaking my head apart. I didn’t know what to think of this new one, but turning it on I realized it makes just a humming noise, no loud vibrating/grinding noise. When I first tried it the vibration felt strange, actually laughed because it tickled. He told me to press the power button to change the settings and I found for the first few days the first setting “low” felt better. I do like the sonic hum this has, and my teeth really feel a lot cleaner. I also like the longer angular head of the Boka, I can get to my back teeth a lot easier. After 3 days of use I was able to use the more powerful levels and the most powerful one doesn’t bother me now and my teeth really are feeling cleaner than using my old brush. Conclusion: Now that my wife has been using this for a few days now she’s really impresses with it. I didn’t think I’d ever get her to try anything but an old manual style brush. She really likes that the Boka doesn’t make much noise “in comparison to my Braun”. We’ll see how long the brush heads last, and how easy they are to find, but otherwise If I have to get another brush I’d probably get some more heads and start using the Boka. So if you are looking for a good brush that cleans very well and want to try something different than the usual ones that are on the market, take a good look at this Boka. The charging options alone make it much more convenient than my old Braun.

Having used various types of electric toothbrushes, I always felt my teeth were clean until I used the Boka electric toothbrush. First impression upon opening the packaging was how simple this was to use. Simply install the brush head and hit the button to turn it on. This definitely had a different feel when brushing then others I have used prior and I was not sure how I felt about it since it was simply a vibration as opposed to a rotating head. This vibration action really did way more then rotating heads I have used especially since it alerts you every 30 seconds to ensure you move to a different section of your mouth. Not that brushing takes much thought but for me I feel like I brush way longer than necessary. With the alert feature which is simply a pause in the vibration, I moved to another section of my mouth and continued until the next alert and again till the next alert until it finally shut off after 2 minutes. After just 2 minutes of brushing I looked in the mirror and was shocked at how clean my teeth were. It was very visible that the brushing action was able to get below the gum line and loosen an eliminate the slightly plaque buildup that I had leaving my teeth looking healthier and whiter. This brush is very comfortable to hold and very light compared to others. My only issue is I wish I had this years ago.

I've been using the Boka toothbrush for about a week now and it hasn't been the greatest experience. I've been using electric toothbrushes for many years now, so I do like them better than manual brushes; however, this one has a couple of negatives for me. The first was the brush head itself. It looks and feels like one of the cheap brushes you get from the dentist after a cleaning visit. I don't think the brush heads are inferior quality, so not a show stopper, just that they feel cheap. What was an issue for me is that the frequency of the vibration is very high, much higher than the brushes I have used in the past. I'm sure this might be looked at as a positive by some as the higher frequency should help remove particles in the teeth. Unfortunately, the vibrations are so high that it makes my implants hurt when I brush over them with the head. The brush offers multiple speeds so I did try all of them to see if it got any better and the lowest vibration setting is bearable, so I have been using that. Maybe people without implants won't have that issue and it is only bad on one of the two implants for me. One of the features that I like is that it pauses for a split second every 30 seconds to let you track your progress and stops when your two minutes are complete. This helps make sure you spend enough time cleaning each area of your mouth. The charger has a light, which essentially acts like a night light whenever the brush is charging. I wish there was a way to turn that off since it is pretty bright and I really don't need a night light. Once again, not a big deal as I just take the brush off the charger at night. Overall, I will continue to use it, but I wouldn't buy it again due to the issues I listed above...which may be personal to just me.

The Boka Electric Toothbrush is sleek, sexy, with the nicest brush heads I've ever used. Unboxing the Boka Electric Toothbrush reveals excellent protective packaging and a quality product. Dentists say we should use 2 minutes to brush, but unless you set an egg timer or wear your watch how do ya time this? The Boka Electric Toothbrush takes care of that, the brush vibrates every 30 seconds as a gentle reminder to move along to the next section. After 2 minutes the unit turns off. Pretty cool, right? The Boka Electric Toothbrush holds a charge really well and the brush heads soft and easy on your Gums. This is a quality product that comes with a 2 year warranty. Cheers!

    A Fresh Streamlined Clean

I’ll start off this review by stating that the Boka Electric Toothbrush is amazing. I should explain my history with past electric toothbrushes to better justify my excitement for the Boka Toothbrush. I’ve owned several electric toothbrushes in the past three years. The first one was a well-known brand that did a great job however it had grooves that allowed the toothpaste to build up despite rinsing it. Also, the replacement brush heads were pricey. It was after a year, that same electric toothbrush ceased to work properly. I then decided to try the affordable electric toothbrushes that run around $20. They were decent but I wasn’t getting that overall complete clean. I finally returned to using the old-fashioned toothbrush. I will admit that I was a little hesitant about owning another electric toothbrush but my dentist recently recommended that I invest in one. When the Boka Tooth rush presented itself, I figured it was kismet. The device is ready out of the box. The set up for the charging base is basically, plug it in and it’s ready. I really enjoy the minimalist design of the device. Streamlined and simple. And the fact that the charging base has a discretely illuminated bottom made me appreciate it more. But how does it clean? There are several cleaning speed settings that allow you to find that preferred cleaning intensity. Then, once you engage the brushing process, the brush is on a 2 minute and 30-second timer that will pulsate every 30 seconds to let you know that you need to move the brush to a different quadrant of your mouth. I had never experienced anything like this with past electric toothbrushes. It’s a cool feature. I noticed immediately that my teeth had a smooth clean to them. Even the gumline was void of any kind of buildup/film. The reason why I note this is because there have been times where I’ve brushed was about to leave the house and felt areas that I somehow missed. Being aware of the missed spots had me going back into the bathroom and do another brushing. The upkeep on the brush seems easy. I brush and then I rinse off the device before placing it back onto the charging station. Where the brush head connects to the handle seems tight where I won’t have to deal with the ‘guck’ as I had with my other electric brush. The Boka Electric toothbrush comes with two brushes (mine came with only one but I’ve contacted customer service about it). Eventually, there will be a need to purchase an actual brush replacement. I was excited to discover that on the Boka site, the replacement brushes are EXTREMELY affordable compared to those of the other brand that I once owned. The Boka brushes are basically the same price compared to the disposable electric toothbrushes I had used at one point. I honestly think that you will be happy with the Boka Electric Brush whether it’s your first electric toothbrush or if you’re looking for an alternative from the other brand(s).

    Form Triumphs Over Function

Boka has managed to produce a surprisingly annoying electric toothbrush in a very attractive package. With a slim profile and a very functional induction charger, the Boka looks great. And the package comes with two brush heads. But instead of having a conventional flattened brush head (or even a round head like one of their competitors), Boka has gone with a concave design for the brush - which has a natural curve approximating the shape of the front of your (adult) teeth and which makes the brush nearly impossible to use on the backside of your teeth and on the flatter surfaces of your molars. I can't imagine how this design ever made it out of the drawing room. Brush shape aside, the toothbrush is basically an ultrasonic cleaner which agitates the brush at one of three different cleaning speeds. And while you can tell, at least on the front side, that the action is effective in cleaning your teeth, the ultrasonic buzz is EXTREMELY annoying if your lips or tongue touch the brushing head (try brushing your teeth without intersecting your lips or tongue). What a strangely annoying toothbrush.

This is a great electric toothbrush. It’s sleek in design and quiet in operation. The packaging is high end reminiscent of unboxing a smartphone. Battery has lasted a week so far and promises a month. The piece I like best is the base. I have a more expensive toothbrush by a well known brand that I love, but the base for it or prone to topple. This one is weighted great!! Stays where it should without moving around every time the cord is jostled. Three speeds and timer are basic and efficient. I recommend. It’s a “pretty” toothbrush that seems sturdy and well made for a great price!

My first impression when taking it out of the box was, Classy! The charging base lights up which adds to the ambiance to my bathroom. The bristles feel firm but not rough. I’m sharing it with one of my boys, and could not help but to agree with him, that a color coded scheme should have been considered by it’s designers. I think they are marketing it to singles. The three settings make it worth considering it for those that are suffering from sensitive gums or teeth. I have used all the settings to ensure the toothbrush was full functional. I have owned other electronic toothbrushes in the past and this one is top of the line craftsmanship. Besides the missing color scheme to differentiate users, this one is sleek, effective, and overall classier than the competition. I would of have rate it a five star, but since I have a family of five, it would be weird and strange to use each other’s toothbrushes by accident. If your single then it’s a great find.

THE BREAKDOWN: The toothbrush was very lightweight and stylish. The packaging was very well done and like opening high end merchandise. It included the main body of the toothbrush, two heads, the charging cable, base and plugin head. The instructions for setup were very clear and easy to understand. After unpacking and installing the brush head I let it charge overnight before I began using it. First and foremost it has a simple minimalistic design that is sleek and sleek. I also thought the same thing about the charging base. The charging base has light ring around the bottom which I pretty much used as a night light in the bathroom. That feature may be viewed as negative for some people. So, this is pretty standard fare for the world of electric toothbrushes with the exception of the brush heads. Which are infused with activated charcoal to limit/inhibit bacteria growth. The standard fare refers to the timer which lets you know when 30 seconds have passed and turns off after 2 minutes. Another feature that I really liked was the speed setting. On this toothbrush you have 3 different speed settings; low medium and high. This Boka toothbrush also vibrates at 30,000 per minute. Overall, I found this toothbrush to be inferior to the one I currently own. I’m not sold on the “sonic” vibrations and the super soft bristles. I found this toothbrush leaving me with an unclean feeling on teeth. Maybe I’m just used to my other electric toothbrush that I have been using for years. PRO’s: -Very sleek and stylish -Setup was quick and easy -2 minute timer with 30 sec alerts -Rechargeable battery with 25 day life -Magnetic docking station -Charcoal activated brush heads -30,000 vibrations per minute -Cheap brush head replacements CON’s: -No actual moving pieces just vibrations -Bristles were very soft -Dirty feeling after brushing SUMMARY: Overall, I feel that this product is just ok. I don’t this product is for me personally but I would definitely recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for a “vibrating” toothbrush.

I have been using an electric toothbrush for years now. Had two different brands, both well known and established on the market. I was happy with both. The reason why I got curious about Boka toothbrush was first it seems to be an innovative company (they have their own toothpaste which they claim is a completely different animal and also they offer a subscription model to get brush replacements), second that their toothbrush is a soft type, where my current toothbrush only comes in medium softness. First the positives. The brush is really soft in a nice way which I find very advantageous. Some people have gums that need soft toothbrushes. Soft is also the most recommended type by many dentists. So it is soft, but not too soft, it holds its structure well when brushing while not pushing too hard on the gums. It is also very quiet, much quieter than what I use now. You can hear it but folks around you probably will not hear much, if anything at all. The overall design seems to be focused on simplicity. That could be beneficial or confusing, depending on your personal preference. First charging and the battery charge level. For that you have a single light at the lower part of the toothbrush. The light is either on or off, single color based on what I have seen so far. You put it into the included charger stand and if it gets on, it shows (I am guessing, because there is nothing about the charging process in the attached instructions) that the charging is taking place. Once the brush is fully charged, the light goes off. But there is no indicator about how much of the charge remains, is it half, a quarter or something else. If I take it with me on an extended trip and forget the charger, I might get some anxiety about whether it will last the entire trip because there is no way to know how much charge is left on the brush. I believe that in the name of simplicity there is only one button to put it on or off and also to change the type of vibration. You push the button once and brush starts. If you push it quickly after the first push, it changes the vibration type to somewhat more robust type. Quickly click the button one more and you will get the third type of vibration, most robust. But here are some issues with it, at least from my perspective. Say you start on the lowest level, wait 20 seconds and then want to change the vibration to a higher level. If you push the button now, the brush will just stop. You have to start the entire process from the beginning. Another scenario. Say you click the button to start it, then try to quickly change the vibration level and you click one click too many. The brush will not go from the highest level to the lowest, it will just stop. Another quirk that I noticed is that this brush, like all others offer four intervals of 30 seconds to change the quadrant you’re brushing. Nothing new here, they all do that. But what is different, at least in comparison to what I know from other toothbrushes is that when that 30 seconds interval ends, the brush stops completely for a second. That is different from what other manufacturers that I know do. Others do not stop, just change the tone of vibration for a quick moment to let you know to switch to the next quadrant. This is not good nor bad, just different. The instructions manual is very minimalistic. It covers just three areas, how to attach the brush, how to put toothpaste on the brush and how to brush. Nothing else. Nothing about charging, nothing about maintenance. The toothbrush comes with two sets of brushes and they have the brush head cover on them for travel purposes, which is good. But there is no travel pouch included, unfortunately. Overall the brush seems fine, it has soft brushes which for some people is a must. The brush replacements are relatively cheap when compared to the top market sharers. The brush operation is very quiet, relative to competition. The vibration is very gentle, which might be important for people who do not appreciate their teeth to be shaken too hard. I just wish that the operation process would be improved, possibly a separate button for putting it on and off and another button for changing the vibration intensity. If you can live with the quirks of it, it seems to be a great choice for an electric toothbrush.

Not the electric toothbrush for me, unfortunately.

First off, this isn't a bad electric toothbrush. The built-in rechargeable battery and magnetic charging base is and a clean, simple design. The tooth brush operates at 3 speeds of your choice and will pause briefly at 30 second intervals, turning off automatically at 2 minutes. It comes with two brush heads, both of which appear to be exactly the same. So that all sounds good, but the overall performance isn't really impressive in my view. The brush heads are soft, so if you prefer a medium or even hard brush head, that isn't included. The brush head itself has no part of it that spins, rotates or moves. The Boka is just a straight vibrating from the base toothbrush, but does vibrate at a high speed. So high that it kind of feels odd to me. I've been using lesser electric/battery powered toothbrushes for several years and the Boka just doesn't seem to do that great of a job. I think I'll stick to my old faithful.
