This is my first smart phone, so I can't really compare it to any others. I work on a golf course, so at first, I wanted the Galaxy S5 since it is waterproof. But I did not want to spend close to $500 for my first smart phone.
I find it fast enough. I have had no freezing or crashing with it.
With the apps I have installed, I am averaging about 15 to 20 hours out of it depending on how I am using it. With the screen brightness turned down, it can easily last my entire work day, while continuously streaming radio/music and checking the weather frequently.
Main reasons why I picked this phone:
*Got it on sale for $99.99
*micro SD card for extra storage (unlike the S6)
*The battery is removable (unlike the S6)
*Good quality from a good brand.
Criticisms:
*The cameras are decent, but not great
*Not waterproof
*While, the plastic back plate covering the battery and micro SD slot is easy to take off, it is pretty flimsy and of low quality. (I immediately searched the online stores for protective accessories and bought a protective case and tempered glass screen protector).
*Presently, accessories for the Galaxy Prevail LTE are hard to find at your local retail stores.
Other thoughts:
I did not get the insurance through Boost Mobile for the phone.
To save $7/month I went with BestBuy's $30 for a year insurance. The phone was cheap enough that I thought if I get a bit more than a year out of it, I would be satisfied. Plus, I think I may want to upgrade by then to a higher tier of smart phone.
All and all, this a great starter phone!

The Samsung Prevail LTE is fast and easy to use. The screen is a nice size to watch videos on, and I love the amount of memory that it comes with. The only downfall for this phone is the battery life. I have to charge it once a day after normal usage, but I don't mind that if everything else is working on it. The camera is decent, and there are plenty of options to suit your needs. It's a great phone for the price, and looks just like the more expensive models that Samsung makes. I really do love my phone!

Overall nice phone for the price. Has good sound, takes nice pictures and videos. Really love the fact that it has super long battery life. Phone is easy to use and is just the right size. Not too small and not too big. It's also lightweight. I love it.

I have been using this phone for a couple months now. It seems like a great phone for the price. I upgraded to this from the Galaxy Rush, and I love how much bigger the screen is. It isn't an S6, but for the price it is well worth it. Wish it had a better camera, but 5MP isn't horrible. The Rush had a similar camera, but the photos are definitely better on the Prevail LTE

Satisfied right out of the box. The apps open quickly enough and can run Pandora and surf the web simultaneously with no problem. More than enough internal memory with expandable microSD slot. The screen size is a big improvement over the first Prevail. The camera is good, not great (the only reason for 4 stars and not 5). Not as bright or as sharp as a Galaxy 5, but for the price it's a great phone!

I put at 128gb micro in mine and it runs so smooth. Pics could be better, but I looked high and low for something that could hold the storage for photos and documents and not die like my S3. I needed something reliable that I could modify if needed. This was it! But I don't need to do anything. My 5 year old is constantly on YouTube or doing puzzle games, I have my games and running documents and it does everything I need and the battery lasts forever (still new, but even at this point my S3 was showing wear). Graphics are great and settings are easy to navigate through. Great phone. There are few downsides, but those went away once I put my mega sd in there.

Coming from an HTC which I thought was good, this phone is even better! It's very fast and my signal is much stronger even though I'm on the edge of a dead area. The battery lasts for two days with fairly heavy use. I couldn't be happier!

When my LG Volt died suddenly, I decided to buy a Samsung Galaxy Prevail LTE. I had very good previous experience with Samsung phones so that made me want to get the Prevail LTE. It works very good for an inexpensive phone. The memory of the Prevail IS 8 G, which was not true with the Volt, which was also advertised as 8 but in realty is only 4 G. The only area that the Prevail LTE does not beat the Volt is with the camera and this is my only disappointment with the phone.
Great phone with limited camera/

I've had this phone for a month now and I really like it! The battery life is great. The phone is solid and feels great in your hand. I use this with the $35/month ReBoost program and get unlimited text/voice and 2.5GB. It is fantastic. The only con that I can honstely say has bothered me at all would be that the camera is not very good (only 5MP). Otherwise, this is a great phone.

I'm glad I upgraded. The price is right. I can now cast my screen to Chromecast and play Clash of Clans on a 50" screen. Wow. Good battery life, Chrome browser is fine with 10 tabs open. I wish there were better cases for it.

I got this phone because Boost had a great deal going on and I'd outgrown my old phone and plan. It has a good battery life and sleek design. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it isn't really customizable. For instance, there's no way to change the touch tone. It's this weird water sound effect that is quite annoying. What happened to just having a classic dial touch tone? Other than that I'm pleased with the phone, it does the job required.

I was quite surprised at how sleek this phone was..It is nice to hold and very fast for a cheap phone..The camera is not that great but what can you expect from low end device..You won't be disappointed with your purchase at all.
