The Bosch 800 Series microwave is a very nice product. The sensor cook feature does a very good job heating food. The popcorn button listed three different size popcorn bags starting with the 1.5 ounce when you push the popcorn button, put the button again and it changes to the next bigger size bag and push the button again and it is set to pop the 3.5 ounce bags of popcorn. The sensor button has a setting for backed potatoes and it works very well. The interior space of this 1.8 Cu Ft micron is surprisingly very good with a 14 inch glass plate that rotates. Our old 1.8 cu ft Bosch microwave only had a 12 inch glass rotating plate so Bosch has made this 1-8 cu ft microwave even better. It also has an LED light in the interior. The interior is stainless steel making it easy to clean. This unit has a convection oven feature in it but we have not used that feature so I can't comment on how that works when using it. This unit has two LED lights on the bottom for lighting the top of your range cooktop however do to the directional lighting LED lights project while they are bright and a nice white light they will leave the front 1/6th of your range top dimmer that the area right under the microwave, not really a big deal but it does show one of the limitations of LED lighting vs halogen bulbs that spread light over a wider pattern. Overall this is a very nice microwave and we are very pleased with it.

Poor quality for a $675 microwave. Picked it up 11/15/2020. Didn't start using it til 11/23/2020 and on Christmas day 11/25/2020 after literally 4 weeks of use the plastic clip on the frame of door cracked off just by simply opening the door. Without the plastic piece going inside frame of microwave the touch buttons aren't working so we cant even use the microwave at all. We are 2 adults no kids using or slamming the door. Now we have to unmount it and bring it to geek squad. Who wants to repair a almost $700 microwave after 30 days of use? Worst of all theres no option to repurchase if they cant repair it. Its no longer available to buy. Please look into buying other brands the name Bosch is not what it used to be and we have been Bosch appliance users for 24yrs

This HMV8053U performs good in terms of microwave and convection cooking. I use the convection to cook small portions of chicken and pork chops. It works well. 1) The biggest issue I have with it is there is plenty of oil dripping down from the front body of the microwave. See photos for detail. The unit was installed late August 2017. The oil dripping started in October 2017 and continues as of today. There is oil at both upper and lower door hinges as well. Bosch technician had no idea what is going on and offering no solution. He sort of admitted that this in normal. And I told him no way this is normal. And the sales rep said the same thing. My old GE microwave did not show that. He confirmed the installation was good, and it is exhausting as it should. 2) Also the plastic tab that is part of the grill grid connecting to the microwave just broke by itself. 3) The bottom part of the door handle became loose (can be moved left and right) just few months after installation. I'm very disappointed with this oil dripping issue that the Bosch technician cannot fix. And seems like Bosch had no repair data base he could look up for such problem (otherwise he would have told me he'd try to find.) This HMV8053U model was made in China. And it shows the material and workmanship are bad. Also the new door and grill grid replaced have no additional warranty. When the 1 year is up, the entire unit will be out of warranty.

Great Microwave. Except for one feature. The fan that runs while the food is cooking is loud and it continues to run WHILE the notification buzzer goes off to let you know the food is ready. And the fan runs for about 30 secs AFTER the notification buzzer goes off. But the FAN is so-o-o much LOUDER than the NOTIFICATION BUZZER that it is almost impossible to hear the buzzer. Most of the time, you won't realize that your food is ready until you realize the fan has gone off. That's a problem. The fan should stop when the buzzer is sounded and the buzzer needs to be louder.

Bosch used to be a fairly high-end brand. Their dishwashers have always been considered the best and I've had two so far with great success and performance. I was so hoping this Bosch 800 Series microwave would be an equal but I've never seen such sub-par design and build quality. We had ours professionally installed. By the next day, the unit could be seen as arking/sparking inside while in the cook microwave mode. Then two days later the microwave came loose from the mounting bolts (one side). It was hanging with a single bolt. The area where the mounting secure bolt goes into the microwave body had snapped inside of the microwave so that only the other-side bolt was holding it up. We've placed pillows under it to support it from falling. It was threatening to fall and damage the cooktop below (and itself). Two days into the purchase, we stopped using it due to safety concerns. Contacting Bosch and the store where we purchased the Bosch microwave didn't result in a replacement but an offer to instead send out a repair person. The unit is loud. The door is poorly constructed with a door handle (plastic and foil) that will quickly melt or peel from any heat received from a cooktop below it. The plastic door latches are flimsy and shouldn't last too long. Thus, open and close the door with ease only. If you must buy this for a reason, purchase the extended warranty from Best Buy as they will back it and assist. Chances seem certain, you'll need that warranty. Hardly worth a 1-star rating.

Overall, I love this combination microwave/convection oven. As a microwave, this works flawlessly. Heats quickly, has many great features, and love the racks. As a convection oven, it really takes a long time to heat and cook. BUT, it cooks well in the end. So I got used to the extra time. I was surprised that it can actually make vegetables and other foods come out crispy. It almost works like an air fryer, if you spray the veggies with olive oil. The only reason I'm taking away one star is because the exhaust fan is very loud (at all settings) and does not actually suck very well. Very little difference between High and Low. On high, it can barely hold a paper towel. They should really have their microwave team work with their dishwasher team to bring down the fan noise, and figure out how to get a much stronger suction. Otherwise, it's a great machine.

We initially have not been desiring a convection microwave, however, we bought a suite of kitchen appliances in the 800-series from Bosch. The 800-series microwave over the oven range comes with convection, and we already noticed it makes a difference. "Cooking" in the microwave is now a step closer to an oven, and may be a good quick way to avoid heating up the massive oven. It is still a microwave though. However, we are really happy with it and the design matching to the other top-notch appliances is also a factor we considered.

Cooks really well, and the convection option is a big plus. Old microwave used to burn popcorn. Not this one. Gives a great look and simple too operate,..very intuitive.

This microwave was a replacement for a Kitchenaid that had attempted to be repaired 4 times without success. The Bosch works well. Controls are easy to find and simple to use. The exhaust fan has plenty of power and the light is bright. Microwave is a little louder than the Kitchenaid but not loud enough to where it is bothersome.

I am really enjoying the microwave and the easy to use convection oven combination. I need to learn more about the convection oven but plan on using it on a regular basis. Probably will be able to get rid of some individual small appliances which is not a bad idea. Love it's looks too.

Worst microwave I have ever used. Big, bulky and loud. It’s defective and reported it within the 1 year warranty. Waited for months for the part to come in from Bosch. It’s been 10 months and it’s still not fixed!!!

Had a Bosch microwave for the past 11 years, after it died, I wanted to get another Bosch to match the fridge, oven and dishwasher. When I saw that the convection oven was integrated, I decided to upgrade. A little pricey for a microwave, but justifiable when you factor in the quality of Bosch and the convection feature. Works great !!

Purchased on 3/2021 , Magnetron issue by 11/2023 … minimal use and never used the convection feature . I wish I could give zero stars … newly remodeled Bosch kitchen , I can’t bring myself to purchase again so I’ll have all Bosch and another brand in my kitchen We thought it was our breaker box , simple fix replace the breaker and it still blows …. Ran an extension cord from the microwave to another outlet , turned it to 30 secs and same issue with microwave lights flashing and going out with 10 secs

This is my second convection micro wave. My first was not a Bosch. This microwave is so perfect. You will love tha you can bake and it won’t have to cool down before you can use the microwave.

After replacing a Bosch microwave that was only 6 months old and had issues I knew I did want another Bosch because all of my other appliances wer Bosch and are great. I just had a bad one. I decided to upgrade and pay the difference for the convection 800 series. What a difference this one is totally stainless on the inside very powerful microwave and have only had it a couple of month but really like it. I think there’s a learning ur e to cooking in the convection part. My Bosch oven is convection but I figured I wouldn’t have to heat up the whole kitchen in the summer. I would recommend this microwave. It came with two separate racks that you can use. One rectangle and a round one. I’m glad we paid to upgrade.

This is a great Microwave it can work as a confection oven or Microwave has great power and is easy to clean It looks great in the kitchen glad I spent little extra to get a better brand

Overall, it is a good unit and works well. It is noisier than I anticipated. Some cooking instructions are not intuitive....

I recently added this microwave to my Bosch kitchen. The operation is simple, the look is elegant.

We are Bosch lovers and decided to give the microwave with convection a go. We had a small learning curve as our old Bosch microwave did not have the convection capability. We are still trying to find a pan that doesn't buckle when using the convection feature but other than that it's great to have the convection option, it's like having a second oven. Convection won't have you cooking faster but it is convenient to be able use the microwave for just warming up coffee, soups and left overs. We enjoy it and it looks nice too!
