Be aware, this washer requires a 240V outlet.

After comparing several compact washer brands and models we decided to go with the Bosch. It took about 2-3 weeks to be ordered / delivered. Unfortunately, I was not home myself at delivery and installation because I would have made them take it back right away. The machine requires a 240 V connection ! (And not the type used for dryers, see picture of the 3 prong plug.) Nowhere in the entire specifications page on the BestBuy website is this tiny detail disclosed. The 240 V requirement and plug renders this machine about useless in any CA laundry room I have ever seen. Well, I went to BestBuy the next day and they made arrangements to have the machine picked up in a few days, and promised a full refund. Still can't believe the dude who delivered the washer and just left it there with the power cord on top.

This washer provides all the options I need and fits nicely into the former utility closet in my closet. It does take longer than top loading washers, but I no longer have to go the laundry room to do my laundry!

This was an open box item so I got it for a good price. My last Bosch was over 10 years old and still functioning but it seemed like the right time to replace. Love the spin on this machine as the clothes are fairly dry when done cutting down on dryer time.

I ordered this telephonically. Salesman did not inform me I HAD to buy the dryer in order to plug the washing machine into the power. It's a 220v appliance, so no quick swapping the plug out to use the appliance. It's for a second home and delivery of Bosch appliances take weeks. So I still have to order the dryer before I can try the washing machine out. Will be buying the dryer from Lowes. All my appliances in my home are Bosch.

If you are not spaced constrained, simply put there are reportedly better washers at lower prices. So, if I had room to put in full size washer/dryers and don't need to go with a compact set of stackable washer/dryer, I would have chosen that option without much hesitation. But when purchasing this unit, my alternatives were limited since there are not many very good washers that are only 24 inches wide. The old school washer/dryer combo's that come stacked are much more convenient to setup if you have both the 240 and 120 connections but overall in terms of functionality/cleaning power/flexibility/water conservation they are not as good as the Bosch units. I bought this washer after it was returned by another customer and I paid roughly $500 for it. It is true that it uses a 240 hookup which is all what I had in my laundry area so I ended up buying the last generation Bosch vented dryer on the online auction site since I had the vents and I thought that would work better than the ventless. There may be other hookup options available but (I believe) the washer is meant plug into the dryer which then plugs into the 240 hookup on the wall. I can only compare the cleaning of the Bosch washer to commercial washer dryers that I had been using. I find it better. Cleans at least a little bit better, not as loud, doesn't use nearly as much water and a lot more options for cleaning. I like the fact that there are a decent amount of settings and my favorite is the 30 minute "quick wash". The quick wash probably wouldn't work well for clothes that are heavily soiled from playing outside in the dirt but it would great for towels and swim wear. I also like there is an option to really clean the clothes with truly hot water. This should kill off nearly all allergens. I decided against the ventless dryer since I wanted something that might dry a little bit quicker and at least had the option of getting clothes super dry when I want. The previous generation dryer, WTV76100US, has also worked well for me. It does dry significantly slower then larger dryers but it doesn't make much noise and has enough options that I am happy with it. Again, a full sized unit from another brand would be better but overall for space constrained environments, the Bosch 24" stackable units are a good buy in terms of functionality especially if you can get them open box/at a discount. The commercial washer was destroying some of my clothes while the Bosch washer it more gentle with its cleaning.

I purchased BOSCH WFVC6450UC Washer on 8/5/11, the washer stop spinning last Sunday on 8/23/14, the warranty only covered for 1 year, we call BOSCH customer service, the service charge is $75 and $12 for additional 6 minutes labor which is too expensive for us. Therefore, we checked with Sears and purchase the appliances insurance right away, the price from Sears will make more sense to us, service charge $60 and cover the repair parts up to $500 with the insurance. After diagnoses, the problem on this washer is the defective control board which needs to be replaced. I am very disappointing on Bosch washer that cannot last more than 3 years and I will never purchase Bosch washer again in my life.
