I wasn't sure about how good these would be without a sub to get the bass needed for a great sound, but I am pleased to say they sound great. Very clear sound that fills the room, best desktop speaker package for the price I have used for a long time.

This sound system is a vast improvement from the Altec system it replaced for my main computer. Ultra clear, more volume than I will need, and very easy to control with the large dial and single-touch mute button. Well worth the price!

Nice clean design, good sound but lacks deep base, the Bose speakers were bought to replace a Klipsch THX speaker system which was about half the price. The Bose Companion 20 does comes with a wired control satellite, that I have next to my keyboard, which makes volume control and turning the sparkers on and off very easy . The Klipsch power switch was annoying since it was located on the sub woofer. The satellite allows contains a headphone jack and aux jack.

These speakers are easy to set up, easy to use, and they sound great. I'd recommend them over other speakers that I've used in the past. The on/off tap and the ease of volume control make them a pleasure to use.

I rated these speakers 4 stars only because of the very prominent bass response. I like everything else about these speakers. They get loud enough to fill a large room with sound. The volume control is very handy, right next to my mouse pad. I can connect my headphones to the jack on the control for games, or private listening. There is also a jack for connecting an auxiliary input. The quality is typical Bose, however I do wish they would have been a bit cheaper. Set up is simple plug & play.

I purchased these to replace a set of studio monitors that had failed due to old age. Although these don’t rival the large Macikie monitors I use to have, they sound really good, especially for their size. There are two big advantages for me here: the rotary volume control with the touch to mute, and the auxiliary input which I use to plug in a Sonos Connect source. I’m very please with these and would highly recommend.

If your on a budget I recommend the Bose 2 Companion Speaker for $99.99 Otherwise if your willing to spend the $250 or get it on sale, look no further. These speakers are the best in the market right now. The speakers are very loud, insane bass, excellent build quality, the usb volume control is awesome has headphone jack and additional aux port. The volume control is not cheap it’s heavy and very well built.

At the store these speakers were craftily displayed with an inferior set. They were so much better, I bought them immediately. At home, they are a real pleasure: crisp, clear, good bass. Just fun to listen to.

The speakers are easy to set up and look great. The volume control dial is cool. The sound is great (quality and volume) except for one complaint: depending on where exactly my head is positioned, the bass can sound way loud compared to the mid and high notes. Perhaps because of the wall behind my desk and the rear-venting.

I am very happy with these Bose speakers for my computer. Great sound and so easy to hook up. The design of the volume control is amazing and so easy to turn off or mute with just a touch. So convenient to plug ear buds into as well. These were definitely worth paying a little extra for.

I have them set up one on each side of my monitor. These Bose desk speakers are amazing! The clarity is suburb. The volume dial is so convenient. Listening to music is such a pleasure because I can hear all the instruments. Solid highs and mids. Decent low end. These are not intended for deep base, but rather a clear and surround sound.

After years of wanting these speakers I broke down and spent the money on them. Should not have waited so long. Streamed music is sooo much better with these. I am amazed how good the base is with the small speakers. The touch on and off control pod is a plus. Only complaint is the cord between speakers could be about two feet longer.

These speakers sound much "bigger" than they look. Soundscape is wide, deep, and extremely clear, allowing you to pick out the individual instruments, guitar strums, cymbal hits, etc. with a surprising amount of clarity. Emphasis on clarity. While these speakers lack a proper subwoofer, the bass delivered by these two speakers would make you look under your desk for one anyway. Bass is clear, punchy, surprisingly deep, and above all else, forgiving, filling the low-end with a warm power without slapping your ears silly. Music: these speakers shine the most when listening to classical, jazz, rock, acoustic, folk-ish music, country, or any genre that relies on "real" instruments. Live albums/performances sound absolutely incredible, assuming they were recorded with a studio-quality setup. These speakers are slightly less spectacular when listening to bass-heavy or electronic-driven genres, such as EDM and hip-hop, although they still sound amazing. Bass heads might wish there was a subwoofer under the desk. People who like clean and crisp-sounding music wouldn't notice (or care) that there was one missing. Movies/TV: these speakers sound spectacular, and give you a "cinematic" or "movie-like" feel when watching your favorite content. While these speakers can't replace your 25-piece surround sound home theater system, they accomplish 300% of what I was expecting a pair of desktop speakers to do (all without a subwoofer!!!). Movies sound absolutely MASSIVE on these things... Gaming: same thing as movies. They feel bigger, more engrossing, although the immersion largely depends on how much Videogame X's sound department cared about a cinematic experience, not so much the speakers themselves. Setup: extremely straightforward; the control pod is easy to use; capacitive(?) on/off switch on the control pod is a great touch. Overall, I'd highly recommend as a set of desktop speakers, especially if clear/crisp sound quality is a priority. NOTE: to get the most out of these speakers, you want to listen to the highest quality tracks you can get your hands on. Bootleg tracks won't cut it. Crank up audio quality settings to 'Extreme' if you can. Use a device with good audio drivers. Watch videos in HD or 4K. You won't regret it.

Order an inexpensive set of speakers and regretted it as soon as they were connected. I had bose before but with the very large woofer and I thought these small ones would not be as good. I was wrong, they are more practical when it comes to space and the bass is just as good. If you like to hear your music at its best, these are very, very good.

These speakers sound amazing with just about anything you connect them to. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the price. But then they are Bose, and Bose anything is always pricey.

I should expect this from Bose. A speaker system, simple as it is that sound fantastic. Yea, I got a hint of their capabilities while testing them out in the store. But when I began to use them with my high end gaming rig... all vestigial doubts were chased away. The sound is rich, room encompassing and an explosion sounds like it set off in my room while battling my foes online. The relative high price was so justified by my user experience.

I told myself on the way to the store that I didn't need Bose speakers on my computer. I have Bose in my SUV and in my kitchen, so I'm no stranger to their products. When I compared the Bose to other speakers in the store, the others reminded me of paper cups on the end of a string. Yes the Bose are expensive. But everytime I'm using the computer I have no regrets. Phenomenal sound, clear, good high, mid, and lows. Treat yourself!

Excellent system. Traded in a Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 for this. Sound reproduction lives up to BOSE reputation and music presentation has more than adequate bass for a 2 speaker system. Volume control knob is extremely handy. A bit pricey, but BOSE demands a premium. Highly recommended if you want great sound from your home computer system.
