I did not own but was vaguely familiar with the original Bose sleepbuds that came out two years ago. While many people were happy with those, they were still a work in progress and were subsequently recalled by Bose. Now we have round two-and the work that Bose put in shows. The charging and storage case is a nice silver metal with a usb type c charging port on the back. It has a decent weight to it and a rubber bottom to prevent it sliding on a desk. It feels very high quality overall. In my experience the case itself charges in about an hour and will charge the buds about 4 times before running out. The buds themselves slot into the case with strong magnets that help with alignment. The buds are small, plastic pieces with interchangeable ear tips and wings. Both fit perfect for me out of the box but people's ears are usually not the same size so you may need to adjust one wingtip or one ear tip to get the perfect fit. These do not have active noise cancellation but are very effective at passive noise blocking. With the right size tips, you shouldn't hear much when you put them in. When you combine the passive noise blockage with the pre-selected noises in the app, you can effectively block out most sounds that would normally wake you up. Traffic, snoring, footsteps - it blocks it all for me. The buds are rated for ten hours of sound playback and they seem to meet that for me. One thing to remember, these charge very slowly. The do not use typical lithium ion batteries due to the size constraints and battery life, so you will want to put these in the case when you wake up. You most likely will anyways because they store your buds for you and keep you from losing them. The app is available on iphone and android and you MUST use it to use the buds initially. They connect with bluetooth and you can select from a collection of Bose chosen sounds. The selection is decent and will most likely have something for everyone. There are meditation sounds, white noise, and natural noises (ocean, rain, etc.). There is a phone free mode if you don't want to drain your battery all night and it works great. Once you turn it on you can keep using the buds night after night without opening the app, unless you want to adjust the volume or use the built in alarm. There are several nice alarms to choose from and they also work very well. These are worth a shot if you're a light sleeper like me and wake up multiple times a night. Since I started using these I will only wake up around one time a night, which has been amazing! They may work for you - they may not. I highly suggest giving them a try. Pros: Better sleep Built in alarm Multiple sounds to choose from USB C charging case Phone free mode Cons: Pricey No active noise cancelling May not work with some people's ears Will they hold up over time?

I had the first generation Bose sleep buds and loved them and long story short one of them went missing and went to get another pair and found out they stopped making them and was like nooooo. Didn’t know the sleepbuds II had came out until I came upon them looking at items on Bestbuy.com and couldn’t get them in my cart fast enough. These are even better than the first ones as far as fit and seem just slightly smaller and just work great just be sure you have them seated in your ear correctly. If you have someone that snores or need something to help block noise these are it. May not be the cheapest thing in the world but to me worth the investment. I have read about some talk about them not being able to play music through them well they are not made for that and they work wonderfully for what they are made to do. You can even set an alarm to wake you which is neat too. Thank you Bose for bringing them back even better.

I am an avid Bose fan and have been eyeing these for quite some time. Well I finally got them after two weekends of putting up with NOISY NYC block parties that ran until 7 a.m. OUTCOME? My sleep has gone next level! I was a bit concerned about the comfort, as I had recently gotten a rook ear piercing (inner ear/cartilage) but even so, these didnt hurt or bother one bit. Stay in all night, sound selection is great and best of all, I love having an alarm to wake me from my serene slumber. Definitely recommend. Only con is that I didnt get these sooner.

These are worth every single penny I spent on them. I live in a city in a high rise apartment complex and am often woken up to trash men, police sirens, building alarms, ambulances, car honking... I thought I was a deep sleeper but I guess city living takes sleeping to a whole other level. I put these in, and for my first sleep they were a little uncomfortable. I think this was just because I am not used to sleeping with anything in my ears. After the second time using them, I do not notice they are there. But the important part... I LOVE THEM and I cannot recommend them enough. I wear them when I have an exam the next day to ensure I get a full night's rest. Last night, the apartment alarm went off (as if there was a fire alarm but it announces to stay put... happens because the building is undergoing construction at all hours of the day). I put my pods in my ear and cranked the volume to noise cancelling (they have a volume range and they recommend not putting it to cancelling). I fell back asleep within 2 minutes to wave noises. My roommate was up for 30 min listening to a horrible alarm. I loved these so much I got my boyfriend them for his birthday and he sleeps incredibly well now (he identifies as a light sleeper). ** my thumb is covering my initials I put on with a cricut to differentiate between my boyfriends and mine**

My boyfriend snores and I usually spend nights on the couch to get some relief. I've tried silicone ear plugs, foam plugs, and nothing could drown out the snoring. Headphones work pretty well but sleeping in headphones or earbuds is horrible. I finally decided to buy the Bose sleepbuds based off the reviews and they are awesome. I like the various sound settings (although they sound similar to one another. I sleep at a volume of 75% and it effectively makes his snores more tolerable and sometimes I barely hear him. The alarm feature is nice because the buds drown out the sound of my regular alarm clock/phone. The price tag is hefty but I would recommend not wasting your money on anything else.

This does wonders for me in terms of helping me sleep. Sadly, this is my second pair. The first one went out after about 14 months, which is right outside of the Bose 1-year Warranty. This product tends to have a lot of issues, and the inly thing Bose offers is a %20 off discount. Kind of messed up. Which is why it gets three stars. Over priced and not the most reliable product, but unfortunately it is the only one in it’s class in terms of comfort and functionality.

Got these for my wife, she’s not a sound sleeper like me. Was a little skeptical at first, seemed like an awful expensive set of earplugs. I can say that she has never had a better nights sleep since using them. Don’t even feel them in your ear like traditional ear buds. Definitely would recommend them for difficult sleepers.

    Snoring masking: a failure...

Comfortable, but do not meet expectations. It has limited number of sounds, and masking sound helps a little, but it is uncomfortable listening to sounds all night long. You cannot listen to your music of choice, either. If your expectation is to get real relief to not listening snoring, this product is not the right one. I am surprised these earbuds came to be as the number 1 anti-snoring device in the industry.

      Hello,
We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the comfort of your Sleepbuds II, sorry these did not fully meet your expectations. These will not stream your own audio. Instead, they play specially curated relaxation content to help you fall asleep and masking sounds to keep noises from disturbing sleep. In order to achieve a form factor small enough to be comfortable for sleeping and accommodate a battery that can support sound playback for an entire night, we made the conscious design decision not to stream audio to Sleepbuds. Instead, the sound files are stored on each of the earbuds and played back locally, dramatically extending the audio playback time achievable in this tiny form factor.

Since it’s my first time to buy Sleepbuds I didn’t know what to expect. I’m having trouble sleeping because of the street noises (traffic, cars racing…) and I’ve been looking for something to help me get a good night’s sleep. I saw the Sleepbuds 2 at BestBuy and decided to try it. My husband noticed that when I use them I move less at night. I don’t wake up in the wee hours. I’m happy that I got these to help me sleep better. I do recommend considering the product recommendations for safety use.

Pro: low profile, very high build quality; Con: expensive, not for side sleepers. I was very excited to try it. But then I found that it is uncomfortable when I sleep on my side. It hurts my right ear. Another thing is that when I put them on, I can hear my heartbeats, loud and clear, which is very annoying.

Bose Sleepbuds II come in as the newest flagship for their sleepbuds. If you have trouble sleeping or are looking for a little more assistance in that category then this might be right up your ally. I will do my best to help breakdown the function and design behind this set up. First off lets talk about about some of the basics and get that out of the way. Out of the box you can expect to receive the main case, earbuds, usb-c charging cable, and three different ear inserts to fit your ear canal. Fully charging the case was done in about less than 1 hour and a fully charged case will provide you with roughly 5 full charges of the earbuds. The case is simplistic but yet sleek. It has some weight to it and right away you can see and feel the quality that is known to come with Bose products. There are three separate lights on the case indicating charge levels. Center lights tell you the charge level of the case and the side lights tell you the charge level of the earbuds. One thing i like about the case is how strong the magnets are that pull the earbuds over the charging pins, insuring that everything gets lined up perfectly so that you don't have to spend minutes messing with it. One thing to note is that the earbuds do not charge while the case is charging. Most cases will charge the earbuds while you charge the case however this was not the situation with my unit. To use the earbuds you will need to download the free Bose sleep app which will allow you to customize your Bose sleepbud settings. Through the app you can set up alarms, a variety of different sounds, and which programs you wish to allow through, i.e. phone calls, text messages, etc. You can not play music on these buds as this set up is strictly designed to be used with Bose's specific sounds to help you fall asleep. The earbuds are very low profile which are designed to allow you to sleep with them on. I have uploaded a picture to show what they look like inside the ear canal. Let's get in to the real meat of this product and talk about what its designed to do and how well it actually works. For most people looking at this product your probably here because you have trouble sleeping and are already familiar with the effects of white noise and binaural sounds. For those that are not familiar let me touch briefly and what these earbuds do and hope to accomplish. First off these earbuds are noise cancelling and will block out about 80% of noise pollution coming in. On top of that there are a variety of sounds to chose from based on your liking. The goal behind these earbuds is to completely isolate you from the world around you and help put your mind in a tranquil state to allow yourself to become more relaxed and fall asleep. It does this in a couple different ways. First off there are different sounds to fit everybody's personal preference. I won't get in to all of them but such sounds include, beach waves, rain drops, wind blowing, and even the sounds of dryers from a laundry mat. There are also tranquil sounds which will make you feel like your in some far off fantasy land, these sounds are similar to what you might find in fantasy movies such as Lord of the Rings or such stuff. And then there are sounds that work off your delta waves via binaural beats. These personally are my favorite as they help me fall asleep fast. Here's how they work in a nutshell. There are certain beats that will play something familiar like rain drops. But what you don't hear are the hidden sounds in the background which are called binaural sounds. These sounds have been proven to work off the delta waves in your brain which are supposed trigger the brain to release its own mood relaxer to help you fall asleep. Some people will say they work and others may disagree but me personally i have to say they work really well to help me fall asleep on days that im really stressed or have anxiety. The earbuds will give about 10 hours of run time which honestly is more than enough time as most adults are lucky to even get 7 hours of sleep. Now there is one thing i want to mention here. These earbuds are designed for you to fall asleep with due to there low profile, and while it is pretty comfortable it will take a few days for your body to get used to it. The first couple days you sleep with them on they may feel awkward and cumbersome. But believe me when i tell you just keep at it and your body will adjust and before you know it you won't notice you have them on. One thing i want to mention also is that due to how well the noise canceling feature works you need to be carefully while using these. They do so good of blocking noise that you will not be able to hear a child crying, people coming and going in your home, and you may end up missing bus stops. Here's my final verdict. If you live in a busy city or travel alot then this a must have. Bose does so great of a job of blocking outside noise that you feel immersed in whatever sound your listening to. At one point i had campfire sounds playing in the background and when i fell asleep i actually dreamt i was out camping with friends. It was actually pretty cool to have that happen to me. The only thing i really have a complaint about is that i would like to see Bose implement some sort of one way one way pressure relief valve in the earbuds in the future. What i mean by this is that i like to sleep on my side and every time i roll over to my side the earbuds get pushed in to my ear canal which then creates forced pressure due to the earbuds sealing so well. So basically every time i roll over i get pressure in my ear similar to being on a airplane but not that extreme. Overall folks this is a awesome set up which will take some time to get used to but once your body acclimates to it you will be having deeper sleep with longer rest times. For me this is my go to every time i need good rest.

=== Summary === Just like the first-gen Sleepbuds, the Bose Sleepbuds II is a fantastic product that will help people fall asleep and stay asleep without getting bothered by distracting noises like traffic, barking dogs, snoring partners, and noisy neighbors. The Sleepbuds II are supremely comfortable, more so than the first-gen, and come with useful features like an alarm clock, phone call alerts, and a wide selection of sound effects. It's a complete win! _____ Pros: -Super comfortable and light. -Fits my ears perfectly (medium size tips, Size 2). -Great sound quality with excellent passive noise cancellation. -Many choices for ambient & alarm clock sounds. -Alarm only wakes you up and not your partner. -The charging case is compact and uses USB-C. -Slick magnetic docking and charging mechanism for the Sleepbuds. -The Bose app is intuitively laid out and easy to use. _____ Neutral: -It is still too expensive. A lower price can reach more people to help them sleep better. _____ Cons: -None === Design, Build Quality, and Ergonomics === The entire Bose Sleepbuds II package, like the first-gen one, looks and feels premium. The aluminum charging case is compact, light, and the lid slides open and closes very smoothly. The charging port is now USB-C, a great move from Bose. Bose included three pairs of ear tips and for me, size 2 (Medium) was perfect. The Sleepbuds themselves, which underwent a significant redesign, has gotten even better. Compared to its 2-year-old predecessor, the buds are a bit flatter and more oval-shaped this time around, making them even more comfortable when inserted into the ears. Whereas the first-gen Sleepbuds created some rubbing noise when you moved your head around on the pillow while sleeping sideways, these second-gen ones have gotten rid of the noise. Although this had never bothered me before, I give credit to Bose for listening to customer feedback on its forum and implementing this redesign. Another subtle but noticeable improvement is the improved passive noise isolation. Even without any noise-masking soundtracks playing, the buds themselves do a fantastic job blocking out a lot of noise on their own, much better than any foam earplugs I've tried. One big issue I experienced with the first-gen Sleepbuds was the magnets on the Sleepbuds that came off after about a year of daily usage; to fix it, I had to use super glue and some tweezers to reattach the magnet so that the Sleepbuds could snap into the charging case again. For the Sleepbuds II, Bose overhauled the magnet design and made it more durable and longer-lasting. It's too early to tell right now but the separation of the charging pins and the longer magnet makes me feel confident that I won't experience any magnet issues with the Sleepbuds II. ======= Noise Masking Ability ======= To sum it up simply, Bose has done a fantastic job blocking out pretty much all ambient noise with numerous finely-tuned soundtracks that are available inside the app. The Sleepbuds II's ability to block out ambient noise is WAY greater than any foam earplugs can achieve - barking dogs, rumbling delivery truck sounds, snoring wifey, kid's Youtube videos, etc. Within the app, you can fine-tune the loudness level in case you want to stay alert to certain events going around you. But if you just want to tune everything out, you can do that too by increasing the loudness, almost guaranteeing complete obliviousness to the outside world. As for me personally, I like to set the volume to about two or three notches above the recommended level set by Bose inside the app. When browsing through the soundtracks, I was very happy to see my favorite track still available (Cascade/waterfall). I tried some of the newer tracks but found many of them to be too distracting due to sudden high-pitch effects that often jolted me back awake. Everyone's sensitivity levels are different, so it's a good idea to go through all of them and pick your favorite ones. === Is it a good buy? === If you suffer from sleep issues and find yourself waking up frequently, the Sleepbuds II is definitely a great buy if you have the coin for it. You'll fall asleep faster, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed and feeling great. At $250, the kit is definitely on the expensive side and I wish Bose would lower the price so that more people can afford it and get some quality sleep. Notwithstanding the price, I rate Sleepbuds II a 10 out of 10. It's got the premium look and presentation, a great selection of soundtracks to block ambient noise, and the buds are extremely comfortable and stay put inside my ears all night.

These comfortable earbuds are designed to help you sleep. You set them up and control them with your iOS or android phone, and they use continuous, repetitive sound patterns to help mask other noise and aid lull you into pleasant and longer-lasting sleep patterns. White noise has always helped me sleep. When I was a college freshman, my roommate and I used white noise to adjust to dorm life. In those ancient times, we unmuted my FM tuner and hunted for a spot on the dial between stations. The continuous white noise masked the other annoying sounds and helped us get a good night’s rest. The earbud concept is much more pleasant and effective. These come in an attractive metal charging case with status lights that the charging state of the case. When the case battery is fully charged, you can charge the buds up to three times and they last up to 10 hours on a charge. You monitor and set up the buds after installing the smartphone app. The app gives you the percentage of charge on each bud, and mine needed to be charged before use. I attached a USB-C charger to the case with the buds in place and let the case and the buds charge fully for several hours before the first use. You must furnish the charger. I used my phone charger and it worked perfectly. I found these buds to be quite comfortable. The earbud tips and large “wings” fit nicely in my ear canal and outer ear, respectively. I am accustomed to wearing ear buds and was able to place these in my ear and forget they were there. If you are not used to earbuds, you may be in store for an adjustment curve. There are several different tips in the box to fit different sizes of ears. The sleeping sounds for the buds are not the static-like white noise of my youth. These patterns are pleasant and repetitive, and you can select between several, some based on musical tones and others on natural sounds like the seashore and outside traffic. I liked the ocean patterns best. I did not use the loudest level but settled on a level that seemed comfortable to me. After a few minutes I was off to a restful sleep. On the first night, I have no recollections of any interruptions. On subsequent nights, I remember waking from a deep sleep occasionally with a quick return to deep sleep. All these are expected and welcome results. I don’t think it reasonable to believe these buds will work for everyone. Many issues can affect sleep other than extraneous noise. I found them to be quite comfortable and quite effective in aiding my sleep.
