It worked good for 3 months, then the bass stop working in good condition so that I can just listen to the music low if I want clear sound.

For general listening indoors, on the driveway while shooting hoops with friends, or even in your car if your in-dash system doesn't have native Bluetooth, the SLCII easily met and exceeded my overall expectations for everyday use. One of the most obvious improvements in this updated edition is that it includes the much-requested speakerphone option! I used it in my car for several days and people could hear and understand me, and I could understand them as well. The only issue is that it wasn't possible to get quite as loud as I would have liked or expected. And though the other end could hear me, they frequently reported they could hear road noise. That probably isn't the SLCII's target speakerphone environment anyway -- but I had to try -- and in a quieter environment neither was an issue. For music, volume and balance were good but for most music I had to stay just a notch or two down from full volume to avoid distortion and/or to keep the balance. At low volumes I found the bass to be satisfyingly present if even just slightly overbearing, and some people will like that. At mid to upper volumes the overall balance was excellent. Finally, at full volume, it was my impression that the bass would finally get a bit lost as the SLCII stretched for max volume. To facilitate rapid and easy pairing, say for a group of friends who want to take turns being the DJ, it supports NFC. If your phone supports NFC just hold it next to the speaker and you will be automatically prompted to pair with the SLCII without having to fish around for your Bluetooth pairing menu -- something which isn't complicated but which you (or your friends who want to use the SLCII) may or not do very often, so the convenience of NFC is a nice touch that speaks of forethought and attention to detail. One of the nicest aspects of the SLCII is the "Bose Connect" app. Since the SLCII can connect to multiple simultaneous Bluetooth devices -- but only stream audio from one at a time -- the Bose Connect app gives you a handy view into exactly which devices it knows about, currently sees in range, and gives you the option to temporarily or permanent disconnect any of those devices, The Bose Connect app also gives you exact % on the battery, the ability to rename the device, and a visual interface to change the voice prompt language or even disable the voice prompts altogether. Finally, don't forget that it also supports direct-connect via a 3.5mm standard stereo audio patch cable to round it out for use with audio devices that either don't have Bluetooth or with which you just would rather not pair.

Performance is excellent but having old type charging cable

While I don't own the first iteration of the Bose Soundlink Color, I do own other Bose Soundlink devices. Generally Bose isn't my go to for sound equipment, but boy - these guys know how to make something small sound big. The color 2, while being a simple monular speaker, includes a decent battery, full sound, and great features. Sound quality is actually pretty good. If you sit too closely it sound pretty bass heavy - but this is by design. Once you back up a few feet, the sound mellows out and sounds quite balanced and is loud enough for a small gathering. The sound isn't as good as my original Soundlink from years ago, but it's significantly cheaper as well. The speaker element is well shielded from the elements by both the silicon housing and a internal structure I can't quite make out without disassembly. I will say the silicon body does seem quite durable, as I let my 16 month old son play with it and it came out unscathed. The build quality is excellent. The device is wrapped in silicon with an attractive color (mine is blue). The buttons are seamless and set apart by both LED (on the power, bluetooth and aux in) and slight ridges. From left to right you have power, bluetooth, aux, volume down, multi-function, volume up. The top also has a microphone that can be used for calls, and Siri/Google Now. One short press pauses, two short goes next track, three short goes previous, and hold for 1 sec start's your device's voice assistant. The device charges via a micro usb on the right side towards the bottom. Right above it is a 3.5mm mini jack for auxiliary in. Interestingly enough, the software experience is more sophisticated than your standard bluetooth speaker. You can download Bose's Connect app, which gives you stats like battery status in percentage, and allow you to connect multiple bluetooth devices. The connection gets choppy if you try to use two Bluetooth sources at once, but if you are careful enough to use one at a time, it's a much better experience than trying to connect a particular device and having them fight to be the active connection. The app also can update the firmware and control other settings, like the voice prompts and auto power down in minutes. All in all a huge improvement over my old 2011 Soundlink. This speaker is definitely a contender. It brings Bose quality along with light weatherproofing. It's a decent step above most in sound quality in it's price range. And from personal experience, I can vouch for longevity of Bose's portable speakers. This is a definite recommend if you're in the market for an outdoor portable bluetooth speaker!

Good sound for a small device, but a bit old, I would expect number 3, or at least one with assistant waterproof, by the way, the voice in bose, is more robotic than wally lol

For those in the market for a bluetooth speaker. this is it. Big fan of Bose and their products and they really delivered on this one. Despite being a Bose product, I wasn't really expecting much from this simply due to its size. Bluetooth speakers nowadays are all pretty small however this one just seemed dainty and I didn't think it would/could deliver good sound quality as a result. However, I've had this for less than a day and already love it. Despite its size, it pumps out amazing sound quality. Highs and Mids come it crystal clear while the lows have a solid (not booming) thump to them. I've listened to numerous different music genres on it from rap, classical, house, trance, new age, you name it. This speaker didn't miss a bit on any of them and delivered superb sound quality on across all genres. All from a speaker that's (roughly) the size of a square tissue box. The living room in my condo is roughly 18 x 12 and this speaker fills up the room quite nicely with very crisp, clear sound. It is very lightweight and portable so you can bring this with you just about anywhere. I don't believe it's water resistant or weather resistant however the outside coating it rubber. I wouldn't take it to the beach/pool or anything but it's still portable enough to take most other places. All the buttons are on the top for easy access and the charging port/headphone jack are on the sides. Not really much to fumble around with which is nice. In addition, the companion Bose app allows you to easily connect and play music as well. Not sure on battery life since I haven't used it that much however, 5-6 hours should be feasible. The color, while listed as blue, isn't really a blue blue but more of a turquoise? Very bright shade of blue I guess. Not really a thing but just wanted to clarify on this. Overall, fantastic speaker that lives up to the Bose name. Would make a great gift for a college student or just to have one in the house.

Received this as a gift from my family to use on the beach and my screened in porch. Sound is what you'd expect from Bose, excellent! Love it! Very happy with it.

Had high hopes for this portable speaker, unfortunately the sound quality is horrible. Flat and not very loud. I also purchased the wonderboom 2 (was undecided between the two) and omg it blows this out the water!! Skip this and just go straight for the wonderboom 2 you won't regret it!

I love taking my music with me everywhere I go, so it is important for me to have a speaker that is small yet powerful. When I first received my Bose® - Soundlink® Color Bluetooth Speaker II, I fell in love with it! The size and the overall design is perfect. This speaker is very lightweight which is great for tossing into my backpack. The outer shell is a soft rubbery like material. This speaker is water resistant so i can have it at the beach and pool with no worries. When my speaker first arrived, I immediately plugged it. From totally dead to full charge took around 3 hours. Pairing to my LG X Power was a cinch. The voice on the speaker will say the name of the device it is being paired to. I am very impressed with the amount of sound that comes out of this little speaker. The sound is super crisp and clear with the perfect amount of bass. Overall, this is an amazing little speaker that I highly recommend.

Okay, I will first say that Bose makes only great stuff. I own a bunch of their speakers and love them all. When I saw this, it seemed kind of toy like with the turquoise color, and I wasn't expecting much, especially at the $129 price point. Well, I could not have been more surprised. This is a well made, well thought out speaker, built with a purpose. It has a great color, and a non slip finish, but is also water resistant. It is made to be taken on the go and used wherever you may go, or not go. I haven't tested it out in the elements, but I can tell you I will not worry about some wet conditions or sand, or dirt mucking this up. Nor will I worry about it slipping out of my hands while I carry things to the park. It looks great at home, and sounds amazing. Playing this side by side compared to the sound link mini and sound link mini 2, it is hard to tell it isn't a sound link mini. It sounds that good. Bonus? It is also a speaker phone for your Bluetooth enabled and connected phone. And that works amazingly well too. There is a Bose Bluetooth app available for administering the unit to do updates, review what devices are stored in it (can store up to 8 devices), etc. If you want a great Bose speaker for at home or on the go, this is a great choice. It does come with a micro USB cable but no charger, so plan accordingly when purchasing, if you do not have a USB charger of at least one amp.

I have been a huge Bose fan for years. I have to say the Bose® - Soundlink® Color Bluetooth Speaker II has to be my favorite Bose product. The size of this bluetooth speaker compared to what it puts out is outstanding. I can take this speaker anywhere and get amazing sound. It links easily to your device with an app. It offers several languages to choose from when you set up. It charges quickly and holds a charge for several hours. Once I charged this and used it for 4 hours, I shut my device off, turned it on the next day and still had a full charge. I used it again for another 4 hours. I did this again the next day and still had plenty of charge. I was quite impressed with the longevity of the charge it held. I was also able to place the speaker in one room and change songs, the volume and playlists, etc. from my device from other rooms in the house. The speaker is lightweight, but sturdy. I had it sitting on the kitchen counter charging and without thinking flipped on the faucet. Some water splashed up on the counter and hit the speaker. Not a lot, but enough to make me think twice. The speaker didn't seem to notice it was a little wet. It never skipped a beat, just kept right on playing. Bottom line, if you're looking for a bluetooth speaker with a powerful punch to it, I would recommend the Bose® - Soundlink® Color Bluetooth Speaker II. The only thing I would give you the head's up on is, the speaker is packaged with a charge cord, but does not include a USB box (you plug into the wall). So, if you're low on those, you may want to pick up an extra.
