Customers praise the 700 Series 3-way Floorstanding Speaker for its exceptional sound quality, with many describing it as the best they've ever heard. The 3-way design is said to deliver crisp highs, detailed mids, and deep, rich bass. The detached tweeter is also a highlight, with users noting that it makes a significant difference in the overall sound quality. While some find that the speakers are power-hungry and perform best when played loud, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive.

These stood out in the listening room and won my ear. My next quest was to find a worthy two channel integrated amp. I spent several days listening to many models at local dealers with these same speakers - an ideal scenario! I heard Yamaha, NAD, Rotel, Marantz, Denon, Gold Note, Sim Audio and McIntosh. All manufacturers had different sound signatures and what became clear is that these speakers love power, and frankly NEED power. I quickly learned I had to find something with 200 WPC before I was happy with the stage and overall sound at low to high volumes. This surprised me based on the sensitivity rating, but it is absolutely true - to really hear these you need some serious current. After a full day of hearing offerings in the $1 - $4k price range, I decided to try Sim Audio's Moon 700i. Mind blown. Seriously blown. These speakers came to life, literally night and day from everything else. I went from happy to jaw on the floor ecstatic! You could have told me $15,000 speakers were playing. My wife was with me, who isn't into this stuff and you should have seen the look on her face. Even though the MOON sounded the best overall, I went with a McIntosh MA-9000 and am very happy. To summarize - if these are at the top end of your budget and you do not have an adequate power option, you may still be happy, but you will not get what is possible from these gorgeous speakers. Do yourself a favor and listen to these on a high current, two channel or mono block setup. You will be impressed. My Excellent Value rating is ONLY based on having a high-end integrated amp where these become a serious value for the money.

I owned CM 9’s speakers by B&W and enjoyed them very much for several years but I thought it was time for a upgrade. And the 702 S2 are a great upgrade. The sound is fuller, instruments are much more distinctive. The separation and voices are on point. Like with any good speaker you have to have good power and they are power hungry. So pair them with a good amp and power cords not the ones that come with your equipment. Worth the money? Yes.

I recently purchased the Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series 3-way Floorstanding Speaker from Best Buy, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. From the moment I set them up, the sound quality has been nothing short of exceptional.
Firstly, the build quality is impressive. The speakers have a sleek, modern design that fits perfectly into my living room decor. The attention to detail is evident, and they exude a sense of luxury that matches their performance.
The audio clarity is where these speakers truly shine. The 3-way design ensures a well-balanced soundstage, delivering crisp highs, detailed mids, and deep, rich bass. Whether I'm listening to classical music, rock, or watching a movie, the sound is always immersive and captivating. The separation between different frequencies is remarkable, making it easy to distinguish every instrument and vocal nuance.
One of the standout features is the impressive power and volume these speakers can handle without any distortion. Even at high volumes, the sound remains clear and precise, providing a concert-like experience in my own home. The Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series has elevated my audio experience to a whole new level.
Setting them up was straightforward, and the customer service at Best Buy was excellent, guiding me through the process and ensuring I had everything I needed.
Overall, I highly recommend the Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series 3-way Floorstanding Speaker to anyone looking for top-tier audio performance. They are a fantastic investment for any audiophile or home theater enthusiast. Five stars all the way!

These are the most precise and dynamic speakers you could possibly own at this price point. The closest you'll ever get to reference quality sound without spending at least double. They do like to be 'driven' to bring them alive so, I highly recommend driving them via a high current power amp. If you understand Sonics then you'll really appreciate the clean, tonal bass that these beauties pump out. Bowers & Wilkins knocked it out of the ballpark 10 times over with these...simply awesome!

Great sound, top of its class. Pricey, however worth it. Since it is a larger and heavy speaker, unpacking it solo was a nail biting experience bc I did not want to f it up. The engineering side of me tells me there could be a better way to unpack such an item. Fortunately, I took my time and put down enough padding so I didn’t have any issues. If you have a second pair of hands, I highly recommend using them.

I agonized over retiring the set of Polks I used for years but finally decided to purchase these after hearing them in the Magnolia Home Theater department at Best Buy. I can still remember the moment as it was the first time I had been moved by such effortless clarity in the higher registers, solid bass, and indescribable mid-range. I was no longer 'listening' to the music but experiencing it. I connected to the music through the B&Ws in a way I didn't know was possible. If you are looking for the absolute best in audio at this price point sit down and listen to 702s2.

First, some practical advice. Use a van or SUV type vehicle to bring them home and have someone help you carry them. You can do it by yourself in a convertible but it's a YouTube waiting to happen..
The most striking aspect is the separation of pitch and clarity of upper from lower ranges. The separate tweeter on top actually makes an enormous difference. It sounds like someone is speaking to you in the room as opposed to coming from a speaker.
Second, the overtones that are present in real orchestral music actually come out. The cello doesn't sound tinny and the French horns create the type of color that you hear in a good concert hall. Brass music especially sounds amazing. I have a subscription to the Berlin Philharmonic on Apple TV and these speakers make the entire experience.
Their a little pricey but in my opinion they are a treat very worth the cost. No regrets.

Words cannot describe the experience. A word of advice, with great hardware, use great software. If you’re streaming music, Spotify is really good, but, try Tidal. The experience of hearing a great soprano (Diana Damrau) with these speakers, through Tidal, is quite something. Ed Sheeran (The Shape of You) is a completely different experience with these speakers and Tidal. Finally, feel the power of Gaga by listening to ‘Hollow’, ‘Bad Romance’ and ‘Poker Face’, power of voice through power of these speakers might give you goose bumps.
P.S. I’m using a Marantz home theater amplifier.

This was. an indulgence but it was hard to resist with the discount Best Buy was offering- $1700 off per speaker. I've owned some great speakers over the years and the B&Ws rank up there with best enclosure speakers I've owned that don't take up half a wall. very natural, balanced and transparent sound. I'm really enjoying them. I'd love to listen to them in comparison to the new S3 or the Diamond series to see if there's an appreciable difference. regardless, those are out of my league price wise.

I have put off this purchase for over 3 years.
That was a mistake on my part! I should have bought these years ago. I started my speakers search back when Speaker lab 7's (The 70's) The detail between different sounds are so big. My first day I was hearing things I never heard from My Martin Logan's or even my older JBL 4311B speakers I know its like a 30 year gap but the sound quality is so good! Yes they are expensive but in the old saying! "You get what you pay for".
In this case the price is worth it!

I can't say how thrilled I am with the B&W 702-S2 speakers. You really can't tell how good they are in the store. Once you get them home and fed by some high end electronics in a normal room you can get the great imaging and detail that they are capable of producing. The new continuum cone midrange is more detailed and quicker than the previous Kevlar midrange in B&W's earlier models. It was well worth the difference in price between the 702 & the 703 to get the 702. Even though some of the drivers are the same, the additional 6.5" bass speaker, separate housed tweeter and larger cabinet give a better midrange and bass and a more seamless presentation. Although I am using them as L/R Fronts in my surround sound system, I often listen to them by themselves in stereo mode because they are that good. At this price you won't find a better speaker. Very happy with this purchase.

Beautiful speakers. Amazing sound and performance. Paired with the B&W 700 series subwoofer delivers complete, full range, acoustically pleasing sound. Voices and stringed instruments are alive and soul filled. Going through my music favorites was a joy, hearing notes in songs that I didn’t know were there, until now. If you enjoy sitting back, listening to music, and relaxing to your favorite sound tracks then do yourself a favor And check theses B&Ws out. Worth the price, worth the experience.

I've wanted these speakers for over 7 years. First heard these in one of the rooms at Magnolia, was just killing time, but when I heard them, I wanted them. The sound was set low, but the music was very clear. My jobs moved me too often, now retired... I have the time to get what I consider the best speakers, at least in my opinion. I've read all the reviews of "speakers in the same price range" , listened to those that were available in my area. The reason I purchased these, I can hear the music without turning the sound up and love the clarity these speakers give me.

Night and day difference with the top mounted tweeter. If you’re going to invest in lifetime speakers…. Spend the money and get the b&w with separate tweeter. Love it. Bought these when my definitive technology broke after 6 months and Best Buy wouldn’t honor my refund because I bought total tech a month after those speakers. Bottom line, go big or go home.
