Great Wireless Sound and ANC for the price

Bought a set of these for my wife who finds earbuds uncomfortable. I listened to several models of Bluetooth OTH headphones from Bose, Sony, and others, and to me these sounded the most natural listening to the same source. The ANC settings can be controlled from an App (free) on your smartphone (3 positions) as well as turned off either from the App or using a button on the ear-cup itself.
The ANC does seem to muffle the sound some and also requires raising the volume setting to get good sound. Battery life has been very good even with ANC on (turning it off, which is how I would choose to use them extends the usable run-time)
I won't compare them to my Focal or my Beyerdynamic open back phones connected to a Woo Audio Tube headphone amp, but then that is not a setup useful for walking around the living room let alone sitting on a plane.
If you want a good sounding portable headphone that can also support phone conversations through the built-in mic, these phones are very well built and stylish as well (even though to me they seem a bit heavy - no surprise with all the built-in electronics)
Since I travel a lot for work and spend a great deal of time in airports and on planes, I liked them so much I bought a set for myself.
Highly recommended.

I LOVE these headphones. They do take some getting used to, but I've had a fantastic experience with them so far. Biggest complain is that some of the buttons are hard to operate one handed. When you want to pair with a new device, it can be difficult to set the headphones into pairing mode with one hand. The amount of force required to hold the button will make the ear cup rotate on your head and it is difficult to operate one handed. Yes I'm nitpicking, but all of my other headphones are easy to operate with one hand. But I don't mind it, it's not like that's a deal breaker. That all being said, they are expensive and you don't need to spend the money on these. I also have the Backbeat Pro 2 and love those and they're a lot cheaper. But these are stylish and comfortable and very well made and feel like they'll last forever. If you want some great headphones and want to stand out and can spend the money, these are a great buy.

These were my first pair of over ear headphones. I had a pair of on ear BWs before that used to squish my head too much especially with glasses. Those could not be worn for extended periods. These put a fair amount of pressure on your head too but no pain with glasses and I can wear them for 4-5 hours or more.
Sound quality is amazing and crisp. Great bass, mids and treble as expected with B&W. I have Shure earbuds that I thought were amazing until I got these B&W PXs.
Noise cancelling is pretty good and has improved with firmware upgrades. I agree with other posts re: how NC downgrades the sound quality as you turn up NC.
Haven’t used the microphone feature so not sure how well that cuts out background noise.
Battery lasts forever. They say 22 hours but it seems to last longer that that. Much better than my wireless ear buds which are only good for 6 hours.

I went in to get a over the ear Bluetooth headset that could last at least 10 to 15 hours if not longer. After trying on the beat was not impressed. I was really leaning towards the Bose. After talking to the sales person he had me try on Bowers & Wilkins
Not only do they surpassed the bows in quality and comfort but they’re 20 our Bluetooth was a joy to have one flying from San Francisco to Shanghai China. For weeks I went from store to store trying out all the most popular over ear head phones that ranged from 200 to 500 dollars. On my initial week I purchased the very popular sony 1000xm3. I loved the features. Mostly the noise canceling which is the very best of all I tried. Second place was Bose QC 32 but it wasn't even close. But after 2 weeks of listening I just never felt like I quite liked the sound it produced for music. With hip hop it was good. But for instruments and vocals it just felt muddy and not quite crisp and clear. I thought it must be my ears since every review seems to brag about the sound of the sony 1000 xm3. So I had to see if it was me. Went to best buy and told one of the reps what I was feeling and he said I was not alone. He directed me to the back room where the vinyl records and audiophile headphones I had not yet seen were. There I saw Master and Dynamics, Sennheisers, and Bower and Wilkins. I tried them all, but the Bower and Wilkins PX stood above the rest when it came to sound. It wasn't even close. I heard music like I had never heard it before. The guitar plucks were so vivid and clear. The piano sounded like it was being played right in front of me. The vocals were so clear It felt as if i were at a live concert. I did not hesitate. Bought them right then and there and returned the Sonys. Since then i have discovered open back wired headphones and dac/amps. Which sound even better than my B&W px. But as far as Bluetooth headphones are concerned, nothing else I have tried even comes close. The leather on the PX is a premium leather. Which means it has a break in period. Very much like leather hiking boots which require being walked in for about a month before they are comfortable enough to hike in. So at first the leather may feel a bit stiff but it will eventually mold to your shape and become perfect. They also look awesome. Have gotten a few compliments on these.
HIGHLY recommend.

4. Customizable ANC settings
Cons:
1. Heavy vis-a-vis QC 35
2. Sweating after an hours use
Quality product but after 10 years of using Bose, I exchanged it for a set of QC 35. One additional comment ignore the online comments about the headphones have an extremely sensitive setting when the headphones are taken off. From my experience they've done a great job of keeping the feature set upto date via firmware updates.
All in all an excellent product just not for me

This review combines two perspectives: husband and wife. My use (husband) is pretty straight-forward: wanted superb audio on the plane and around the house when I can steal them from my wife. The sound is tight, transparent, detailed, accurate--no doubt you've read this elsewhere. The Sony's audio is too "roomy" or "airy" for me--sounds like there is a little too much atmosphere. The bass is a little sloppier in the 1000v3, but pretty good, overall.
Sony's noise-cancelling is the BEST. Period. But the B&W is just below the 1000 and Bose QC35, and when you factor in the audio, I was sold.
My wife's needs are different: she wanted noise cancelling but could care less about music. What? Seriously. She needs quietness in the house and office as she negotiates a doctoral program, but she wanted noise cancelling rather than noise isolating (earplugs). So she will use this with atmospheric white noise stuff--streams, rain, ocean--going on in the background.
Frankly, the Sony 1000 mark 3 are better with noise cancelling. But my wife didn't like how MUCH they cancelled--like sucking the air out of a small room, she said.
Sony makes the 1000v3 incredibly light and cushy, too, but they were too big. My petite wife is 5'0" with a small head, and the Sony set was drooping down on her. The PX clamps a little more, can handle a smaller head-height adjustment, and has a bigger ear cup (interior volume).
For me, the audio freak, I was SOOOO happy when she decided that these PXs are a better fit. The Sony set has cool touch controls and all, and check all the "right" boxes, but dang it, the Bowers just sound incredible. So...I will be stealing them all I can. (And at least my wife is still smirking when I do it.)

If you read reviews for these headphones on the internet you'll find them fairly polarized. People either love them or find them inadequate for the price. If you value noise cancellation over sound quality, go for the Bose. If you value noise cancellation and sound quality equally, go for the Sony WH-1000MX2. But if you want a pair of headphones that balance features, sound quality, noise cancellation and attractive design, I think these are among the top 3. First of all, they charge over USB-C. Second, they have sensors that detect if you're wearing them and stop the music when you take them off. Third, they have an app that lets you tailor noise cancellation and keep track of other aspects of the headhphones. And finally, to me, they sound great. They support APT-X HD bluetooth so for modern Android phones that also support that codec, you'll get better wireless sound performance. They have great battery life and can pair with more than one device at a time (unlike the Sony). They don't sound very good with the cable, but these are designed to be wireless. And for that purpose, I think they're a solid choice in this price range. Maybe also consider B&O H8 if you're looking at these. Those have fewer features but you may like their sound signature better.

B&W Fan, but not these

I am a major B&W fan owning both the C5 earbuds and the P7 wired over the ear. I love the P7's and they really sold me on B&W quality and sound. When I wanted a high quality wireless with noise reduction(I hate having to use the iPhone adapter) the PX were my first thought. I also looked at the Bose QC2 and the Sony wireless. All were comparably priced and all sounded very good. I chose the B&W PX based on how much I loved my P7's and the sound quality. Sad to say I have never been satisfied with the PX's. Sound quality is great as expected but they are not comfortable to wear. I hate to say I hate them but for that very reason I do. I wish I had went ahead and gotten the Sony. I have Bose QC wired and love them and would have loved the QC2 but I let the known B&W sound quality lead me back to them. I do not like the noise reduction on the PX's or that everything to control them has to be done through the app. Also, if you notice in the photo I uploaded how the earpieces are somewhat turned. The earpieces do turn but not a full 360. This small amount of turning is aggravating and make wearing them even more uncomfortable and troublesome. I also know this is minor in relation to sound quality but the case they provide is about useless. The headphones don't fit in the case and they don't really provide any protection for the headphones. Paying $400 for a set of headphones should at least get you a decent case as well. I hate to say it but I just can't recommend the PX's and wish I hadn't have either.

Audio quality is outstanding best I've ever experienced when it comes to sound balance, clarity and fidelity. Headphones are still very comfortable (with no ear fatigue) after wearing for long periods of time. The bluetooth range is great, I often still have a strong connection even for distances of over 50 feet. The only knock is that over calls either on my phone or on video conference meetings, I often get complaints from the the people on the other end of horrible feedback and echos. If you are looking for the best headphones to listen to music and audio these are top notch! In this era of lots of video conferencing and if you are looking for all purpose headphones you may need to consider another pair due to feedback on the mic. Other than that I've had these for a year and had without issue. The case it comes with ensures full protection when traveling. They are also great to look at. Despite the steep cost I would defiantly recommend for those that appreciate great audio.

After owning these headphones for three monthes now, I believe that I have had time to make a qualified assessment. Let me start by saying that these headphones sound incredible. There is absolutely no question about that. I will not go on about the sound quality as that is not what compelled me to review this product, and others have covered this in much more depth than I could hope to. Also the noise cancellation is incredible as well. The reason I want to leave my two cents is because the price these cost, and the amount of time it took using them to draw my ultimate conclusion. My biggest gripe about these headphones is the comfort. These are not very comfortable headphones at all. They are heavy, they pinch your head, and they just do not stay in a comfortable position while wearing them. The band always seems to slide forward on my head. I bought these because I am a law student and spend countless hours reading everyday. I wanted headphones with amazing audio and noise cancellation to drown out the noise around me while reading. Unfortunately, after a few days, I quickly realized that the incredible audio comes at the hefty price of comfort. While I do love the sound quality and isolation that the noise cancellation provides, I always find myself a little excited to take them off and get them off my head. On perfect days I enjoy these headphones. But on difficult days, I just do not have the patients to put up with the discomfort of wearing these headphones. Even laying down attempting to fall asleep at night does not make these headphones any more comfortable. In sum, I would assert that these headphones sound amazing, and the noise cancellation rivals that of industry leaders. However, if you are particular about comfort in regards to headphones, I would probably try others, especially the B&O offerings. Had I not ran out of time to return these, (due to travel and my own complacency) I certainly would have. I gave these three stars even though they are some of the best sounding headphones I have ever tried because for the price, for them to be this uncomfortable, is in my opinion, borderline unacceptable.

I bought these headphones not knowing much about them specifically. I would definitely classify this as an impulse buy. I knew the brand, and I love wireless headphones, so I pulled the trigger.
When I opened them up, the first thing I noticed was the gorgeous build quality. These things just feel amazing in the hand! The anodized aluminum parts are smooth and robust, and the removable ear cups are made of a very nice leather. I love the way they feel on my head. They didn't look too flashy, which I appreciated. I also LOVED that they used USB C. All around, I'd give them a 10/10 for build quality and aesthetics.
The sound, however, leaves a lot to be desired. With ANC turned off, the headphones are at their best, which still happens to be quite mediocre. A very flat, even handed sound profile had me saying "Is this it?" on my first listen, which is not what you want the initial reaction to something you spent $400 to be. The highs were not sweet, the mids were middling, and the bass was hollow and unsatisfying. Turning on the ANC only made it worse, with each successive increase in noise canceling bringing with it a corresponding decrease in sound quality. With the ANC on, the sound is muffled and vaguely distorted.
Overall, I was very disappointed with these headphones. I would recommend both the QC 35 II and the Sennheiser HD 1 Wireless more than these. I returned these and purchased the Sennheisers myself, and I have no regrets.

I purchased the headphones for my fiancee as a gift about two months ago.
The fit of these headphones is perfect for both of us, slightly on the tighter side but by no means overbearing. The ear pads are extremely comfortable, and breathe very well.
The finish on these headphones is second to none as far as noise canceling models are concerned. All materials used in the construction of these headphones are premium, and accent each other tastefully. Even the included soft case is a nice, soft el cantera type material.
The features included are very nice,
and work as advertised. Noise cancelling works great. I really like how they turn on/off when you put them on and take them off. Lifting an ear muff will pause your media until it is placed back on your ear. Everything is run off an app that can be downloaded on a phone or iPod.
The sound quality of these things is fantastic! For the price point, you would be hard pressed to find anything better.
Only thing I wish was different on these is that the blue be more of a royal blue. They still look incredible though, being a navy blue.
Big investment, but worth it. Wil be buying myself a set of these eventually.

I own Audeze E8, Sennheiser HD1, psb speakers, and Bose QC 30 and 35. The Sennheisers and PSB are same price point, so that's what I am comparing the PXs to. I mostly care about the sound so, yes they look cool and the build quality is good. The controls are adequate. Battery life is good.
Sound: they are accurate and have a very good sound stage. BUT they sound "tinny" when you first try them. The ear cups feel like you have large cups on your ears. I've been told they have to be broken in first (30 hours or so). The lower mids and lows are week but accurate so a little equalizing or effects can help. YES the noise cancelling diminishes the quality of the music. The sennheisers are better at covering the entire dynamic range (better at mid lows and lows). I find myself using the HD1s more because they are a better "all rounder". But the PXs are better at acoustic and classical music where accuracy is better appreciated. I hope the bass will be more prevalent when they are broken in. I wouldn't buy these without first listening to the Sennheiser HD1 cans. Hope this helps.

So, first let me say that these pair of headphones were a replacement to a pair of wireless Beats Studio wireless, 2nd generation headphones. I paid an extra amount when I exchanged them, and also bought them, the beats, on sale. I figured, why not? I’ve given beats a chance in the past to show me what they had, and man, I don’t know if their latest generation studio headphones are better than the second, but the Bowers and Wilkins PX’s are, by far, what you NEED to have vs the beats brand...at least compared to the 2nd gen beats.
The intuitive listening experience, the native app for these headphones, and the overall build comfort that these headphones have, are arguably better than Bose...and the music clarity that comes out of these headphones is typical Bowers and Wilkins quality, which is btw, if you’re a fan of their brand, atypical Bowers and Wilkins sound...and that means pure audio enjoyment.
I recommend these for anyone considering wireless headphones. They may cost a little more than the bose or beats brands, but I definitely would give these a shake before committing to the more popular brand. Because at the end of the day, your favorite music reproduced in a pair of great sounding headphones is what will put a smile on your face.

Bought a set for my wife in black as earbuds bothered her a lot. She loved them so much (seldom takes them off at home listening to TV Dramas and Music), that I tried them for portable wireless use. Went out and bought these 4 days later. Not a comparison on music to my open back headphonest against a Woo Class-A Headphone Amp, but for general portable listening to music already compressed such as Amazon or SiriusXM on my laptop or iPhone they are comfortable, and have very good sound quality and are not merely convenient but considerate of others on an airplane which my laptop, Dragonfly Red, and open backs would not do. I also use them instead of earbuds in phone calls a lot - sound quality is very good. Overall a really good set of headphones with both wired and wireless option, great build quality, and look nice. Just a bit heavy but you get used to it.

LOVELY DESIGN & COMFORTABLE
I wear these while writing my novel so I can zone out but still have the pass-through feature to hear my surroundings. I can be writing 6+ hours at a time and be totally okay with the weight and pressure these have after about 3 hours of use. Some headphones make my ears ache, but these don't.
I love the connectivity ability between devices. I also appreciate the custom settings via the app. I see myself as a long term user. It's rare for headphones to make the OVE ONE YEAR 1 USE heavy wear test, but these did. Glad to have come across them.
Quality sound clarity, good weight, sturdy build, and I haven't needed to replace any parts yet.

I live in an apartment complex and everyone in it has small yuppie dogs. Those dogs bark all the time and when the 4th of July I had enough. These headphones work wonders for me. They paired easily with my Samsung S8, Sony 55" A1 OLED, iPad, and Apple TV. As soon I start using one of those devices the headphones immediately switch over to that device and start playing whatever I'm listening to. The best feature about them is that as soon I take the headphones off they pause the music or movie. Then if I put them back on that music or movie picks right back up and continues playing. Otherwise they will power off. Also the battery life seems to be very good. I can go several days without having to charge them.

I'll start by saying a year ago I bought the top of the Sony MX1000 I think, it was their best at the time and they have since come out with an updated model. It had everything I wanted, a great sound, bass, comfort, wireless noise cancelling that was top shelf etc..then the band broke which appears to be a common issue and in fact still affects the newer model. So when it broke I had to go shopping again.
My first move was the Bose QC35. That was a massive mistake. Comfortable without a doubt and great noise cancelling but lousy sound and a cheap plastic build. Returned.
Next up was a Sennheiser PXC 550 and while the comfort was good the sound was to muted for me. Good luck hearing any cymbals from an AC/DC song. A disappointing plastic build but it did have acceptable noise cancelling. Returned.
Decisions, decisions. Do I roll the dice again with Sony? Screw that after seeing they still have bands that are breaking. Simply unacceptable. It also has a plastic build although it's pretty decent feeling.
I found my utopia in the B&W PX. I had a real hard time justifying the $50 more for these only because I couldn't believe I was paying $350 for the others. All the same price at $350 for the Sony, the Sennheiser and the Bose.
Let me tell you the Bowers and Wilkins PX are worth much more than the extra $50 compared to all the others!!!
The build is metal not plastic first of all and you immediately know you have a premium product in your hands.. I got the black and blue set and it is different and very rich feeling, looking AND sounding. It may not have the full amount of bass that I want, but I hear everything I want to hear including the cymbals from AC/DC songs. Battery life is great and equal or better to all the others, comfort level is great and the app works superbly. Haven't really been testing the noise cancelling but can say it it won't be like the Bose or the Sony. Don't care as I don't only wear these on a plane. In fact I've started to use them with noise cancelling turned off because well, they rock!
Bottom line, if your in the market for this type of product and are willing to pay $350 DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and pay the extra $50 for these. The sound and build quality is worth much more than that $50 I am completely satisfied with these. Thanks for your patience Best Buy. There is no way I'm returning these! :-)
