I’ve never really been an electric razor guy (though I had one in the Army for quick shaves); they never seemed to get it all very quickly, snagged hairs, Battery life was nil, and they didn’t clean up well. I simply stuck to my safety razor for the close shaves and cheap blades. While I won’t say I’m not going to use my safety razor anymore, I think this razor is great. It gives a very close shave for an electric, battery life is great, you can wet or dry shave (haven’t tried wet yet), rarely ever snags on a tough hair, and the self cleaning unit is actually kinda nice. I like it for travel and for quick emergency shave jobs. My only real complaint is the price; $122 (on sale and coupon applied, AND price matched) is still really pricey for a rather simple bit of equipment. However, Braun has good customer service, so if it should fail before it’s purported 7 years, I think they may help me out then. Either way, it was worth the money to me.

I have had a 7 series for quite a few years. After constant use it finally started having issues. Rather than have it repaired I decided to get something new. I read reviews about the 5 series and decided to give it a shot. To me, there is no difference in the quality of shave between the 5 and the 7. The difference is that the 7 has a few features that the 5 does not have, but they are things that make no difference to me. I am very pleased with the closeness and the comfort. Very quiet, and the charge lasts for a long time. Easy to clean. An overall excellent shaver. I am very pleased with this purchase and would not hesitate to do it again. Nothing beats a Braun.

This is my first time owning a premium machine like the Braun Series 5. I have either had way cheaper electric shavers or have used actual razors...never again! This machine not only cuts and provides a close and smooth shave...I am even able to use on my head. Has left my skin very smooth and I cant believe I didnt have one of these machines sooner. I will gladly own this product for as long as I am able to.

Braun is my first choice on any shaver , i have one Braun shaver before , it last for over 14 years before purchased this one, battery last for 3 weeks before have to charge again . Price is reasonable

I recently purchased a Norelco rotary shaver from another retailer, and was not very happy with it -- it took too many passes over my face to remove all the stubble. I did some research on what shavers were the highest-rated, and the Braun 7 series kept coming up. However, I didn't really want to spend that much money, so when this Series 5 model went on sale, I bought one. I really like this razor, and do feel it's the best one I've owned. I can shave very quickly with it and it leaves my face very smooth. Nothing will ever shave as closely an actual razor blade, but this electric razor comes pretty darn close. And I really love the charging/self-cleaning base. After every shave, I just pop it into the base, hit a button, and it gets cleaned and lubed -- no more using those little brushes, taking the head apart to clean the blades, and fumbling with those little bottles of oil.

Very impressed with this. Never had a shave this close before. Electric razors like this have always been hit or miss for me, some with better or worse quality in various areas, but this one definitely is the best by far. The cleaning station that it comes with is also very nice. Still a little expensive though. That being said, I would probably recommend to stick with the Series 5 (this one) as I feel it is the point where the value you get out of it for the price kind of hits the limit. After having used it, my guess is that the Series 7 would be too expensive for what you would get out of it.

I have been using this as a dry shave and it has been great, I’m impressed with how close of a shave it gets. Plenty of power, shaver doesn’t bog down while using it on several days of growth.

This razor gets the job done. Smooth shave with little or no irritation, close and comfortable, easy to clean, long battery life. Not likely you'll find a better one, highly recommended.

I don't always have time to shave with a blade, so it's been nice to run this across my chin a few times in the morning and get a decent shave. My last Braun shaver is 10 years old and still going strong, so I probably could have done without this one, but it's so light and fast that I don't regret the purchase. The only thing that worries me is how often I will have to replace the cleaning cartridge, but it does a great job of maintenance and recharges the shaver at the same time.

Bought this for my dad for Father’s Day. He had a old norelco that was very difficult to clean. Tried it on myself and it gives a close comfortable shave. Easy to adjust and easy to set up and clean with the cleaning system that comes with it. As with any electric razor it’s a good idea to apply moisturizer after shaving to prevent razor burn.

I purchased this razor for my fathers christmas gift. I ended up using it more than he did. He has Parkinson's Disease & has someone shave him daily now. I love the fact that it cleans itself & shaves very close. The only draw back is the cost of the cleaning pods which you have to change every month or so depending on your facial hair growth & how often you use it.

I love this razor. I use a traditional razor most of the time, but sometimes I am in a hurry or need a quick touch-up before going out for the evening and this provides a very close shave every time. Also, the self-cleaning charging base is great for sanitizing the shaver with little to no effort.

I’ve used Norelco shavers for years. When my last Norelco shaver finally bit the dust, I decided to try a Braun. The new Braun shavers seemed better quality and had the best reviews. I’m happy I bought this one now. I’ve had it a few months and couldn’t be happier. Easy to use and holds a charge for a long time.

I received this ad a Christmas gift and it has worked better than expected. I get a close shave (granted nothing beats a razor blade) with very little skin irritation if any. The cleaner works well and it is easy to remove the blades for a deeper clean. This razor provides both a wet and dry shave. Overall very happy with the product.

My last razor was a Braun Series 5 and it lasted 7 year. It still operates, but I saw this one was a good deal and decided to update. I am extremely happy that I did. I routinely change the blades, but it had been about 18 months since the last change (on my old razor). I realize now how great the new razor operates in comparison. The blades, screen, and technology have improved and the new razor cuts better than I remember the old one cutting even when it was new. I also have sensitive skin so often when I switch razors, I end up with razor bumps. This has been an easy transition and no issues thus far. Overall, I am extremely happy with the new razor and look forward to using it (hopefully) as long as my last Braun razor.

had an older Braun series 3 that lasted over 10 years of daily use, so i was defiantly going to stick with Braun. i got the series 5 with cleaning station & i'm very pleased with purchase, i would recommend this shaver, you won't be disappointed

Gives a nice clean shave. Can handle some longer hairs but not too long. Then there is the trimmer to hel with those.

I bought this Braun - Series 5 Electric Shaver on sale it was a lot lower than the original price. It comestibles with a cleaning station, which I can share it with my partner. Grate product!

Great electric shaver , shaved close and does not irritate my skin. I really love the recharging station. It also keeps a charge for a long period of time.

I bought this to replace my aging Braun, which was pushing 15 years, and had broken on the trimmer portion. So far, this has been the best electric I have used. Like any electric, it takes time to cut a heavy beard like mine, but it does it cleanly, and without burning my face. The battery lasts a long time, and I can get many uses before needing to charge it again. The three lights on the front tell me when I am getting down on charge, which is a nice feature. My last one was a guessing game as to win I would need to charge it. I haven't used the cleaning bay yet, just because it takes up so much space on the counter top, but I will probably use it occasionally to give it a thorough cleaning once in a while.
