I love the sleek overall style of this product. They grind choices are good. Wish it came with a little cleaning brush. Initially I found it troublesome to open & considered returning it. Glad I didn’t find the time I’m considering one as a gift for my @Coffee Snob” brother

OK this is a cool idea, but it’s not that awesome in practice. It does This device grinds beans nicely but it only stores the tiniest amount in the base. If you turn the base at all while you’re grinding, the ground coffee flies all over the place. It’s also kind of slow compared to like my regular conventional Mr. coffee grinder which was like nine dollars.

Burr grinder - single cup flavor and fun

This is a burr grinder (other sites will tell you a burr grinder has to be over $150 - not true) that needs an outlet for power (it's not battery operated). As others mentioned, it's not the fastest grinder, but it is quiet, and works great for a single cup of great-tasting fresh ground joe (way better flavor than those mass produced k-cups). I use it with the "brew your own" re-usable Keurig k-cup filter. The grinder holds enough whole beans for my 14 oz. travel mug. While I've not yet tried to grind more, it seems like you'd need to grind two batches to have enough to brew a small pot. Adjustable grind is nice, and grind level per setting is consistent. This let's you tinker a bit with the flavor to get it "just right" for your liking. Occasionally it leaves a half of a bean in the grinder, even with a bit of tapping / shaking. All in all, if you are seeking a better cup o' joe, you are brewing a single cup (or two), the extra minute or two for grinding whole beans with this grinder is more than worth the wait.

I bought this to use while we traveled so I can make pour overs in the motel. when it came in, I thought why not try to pull an espresso shot with it? So I set it on the finest grind, dosed 20 grams dark roast and pushed the start button. Here's what I found Pros: Decently quiet Will hold about 40 grams coffee Particles seemed consistent on finest grind Can walk away while it works Pulled a surprisingly good shot with good crema on a Breville espresso machine. Not too bad priced Your hand doesn't wear out from hand grinding Cons: Doesn't stop automatically grinding, so you have to pay a little bit of attention to stop it. I don't think the grind was fine enough for Turkish, but for an espresso machine, especially with a double wall, it works great. It took right at 3 minutes to grind 20 grams at fine setting It's a little bit messy when trying to get the grounds out of the grinder, but not terrible The grinder settings are a pretty big jump, and there's not many of them overall I would say at this price range, and not having to hand grind, this is an excellent grinder. I was very pleasantly surprised, and would recommend. I hope this lasts me a long while!

Good grinder for a little bit of coffee

You can't grind a ton of coffee at one time, but it's great for one or two people. My wife and I use it for our french press. One full grind will give us enough coffee to fill up the press, so we just grind fresh every time we make coffee. If you're good with just making coffee to fill up a to-go mug each, and you don't want a grinder that takes up space, it's great. If you want to grind enough to store coffee to use throughout the week, you'll for sure want to go with a bigger grinder.

Nice design. Did a good job of grinding, but slow. It made a high-pitched whine when it got to the end of the beans. Might have just been a defective unit. Returned.

Mostly good. Consistent grind size, which is important. I give it 4 out of 5 for two reasons. It's a little messy getting the grinds out and it's a little noisy for its size/power. That said, I would buy it again as its small footprint is perfect for my office.

I bought this mainly b/c of the looks. It goes well with my espresso machine. I'm sure there are better grinders but I can make due with the tradeoff. The reservoir for the beans and ground coffee small. Takes a bit of time to grind. Good machine if you want form over functionality.

8 months in I was hating this thing every morning

I used this grinder as my primary coffee grinder for almost a full year before it broke. The thing I liked about the Brim is the vertical design which results in all of the grounds entering the base with limited loss. I weigh out my beans prior to every grind and I've used a couple burr grinders with front facing catchment systems that result in wasted grounds which bothers me. While I do like the vertical design I did not like the side spout which the grounds come out of For eight years prior to buying this grinder I had used a ceramic burr hand grinder. I decided to move on to this electric grinder due to the opportunity for time savings by letting electricity do the work for me allowing me to spend more time making breakfast for my wife and I. This grinder is quite slow and at first I didn't mind (it is a feature, apparently). Grinding enough coffee for two aeropresses took the Brim about 2-3 minutes when it was first purchased but by the time that it ended up in the trash the motor was overheating and stopping over 8-10 minutes before it had managed to grind even 28g of coffee. Another complaint about this grinder is that it is loud. All grinders are loud but when you consider that you're exposed to the noise for 2-10 minutes with this grinder instead of for 15 seconds with a faster grinder it becomes too much. I really wanted to give this grinder two stars because I spent so much time using it but as I write this review I am realizing how much I absolutely hated it. A year later my wife and I gladly paid more than twice the price of this grinder for a KitchenAid and our only regret is the time that we spent listening to this thing loudly try and fail to grind enough beans for two cups of coffee.

This is our first coffee grinder so I have no baseline to compare. However, I would say it gets the job done! It is small so it doesn't take up much counter space. It is loud, but I would assume all coffee grinders are. My wife and I use it every time we make coffee. I believe it can accommodate enough beans for three to four cups at a time so if you are looking to grind a whole bag at once you probably want a bigger grinder.

I gave this a 3 Star as an average because it’s a bit on the slow side which is perfectly fine for a couple of folks in the morning but it takes about the same time to grind it’s capacity as the kettle boiling. Works fine since I have to wait for the water to boil anyways. I have researched coffee grinders and all I see are basically personal opinions, you just can’t find the “best” coffee grinder and each “expert” has conflicting views and beliefs so at the end of the day, the conclusion is they are all good and you can’t go wrong with any. So we based out decision to buy this one on footprint and design. Other than that this is easy to use, the ground coffee holder at the bottom of the unit takes some getting used to. But eh, it’s a coffee grinder and it grinds so if you like the way it looks go for it.

Was looking for a small coffee grinder for my brim espresso maker. Needed a small one as I am the only one in my family who drinks coffee, wanted a quiet and small one not to make a lot of noise in the morning. Well it ticks all of the above, except even on the setting for the smallest grind, the coffee is not fine enough for an espresso, it's too coarse...

I needed an auto burr grinder that didn’t take up a lot of counter space and this fit the bill perfectly. I weigh out 40g of beans for my carafe and it takes two cycles(one full cycle) to ground up. The grounds hopper isn’t the most intuitive, but if you are careful opening it, there’s really not much of a mess. Static is going to be present with any burr grinder and should not be seen as a fault with this machine. I use the grinder for coarse and medium grinds, and it works well. I doubt it could grind fine enough for true espresso, but Moka pot will probably be fine. It’s super quiet, and stows away nicely when not in use. I hope it continues to perform as it has because I love it and grinding your own beans with a burr grinder is 100% worth it. You won’t go back.

Most of my compact easy to store grinders were blade grinders. that being said this is my favorite. This burr machine grinds the coffee beans so consistently it is mesmerizing. It offers variant sizes to grind the coffee beans for those who tamper within the coffee spectrum; pour-over, drip, french press, espresso, etc. That being said I do want to offer some cons, as it is fair. to this day I am unsure of the proper way to clean this wonderful machine, and I am too stubborn to look it up, for those like me, you'll probably take it apart and clean each bolt and washer and reassemble. with that being done comes the part that I'm stuck on. cleaning the top part connected to the Motor I just don't know. I have purchased a dedicated mini brush to brush off the coffee dust, but the coffee oils remain, and I am too scared to wet it.

Just received/unboxed the Brim Coffee Grinder and one of the plastic tabs on the bean hopper (used to lock on to the top motor), was broken off...presumably because the product box was placed in a much larger box with no packing paper/peanuts/bubbles...good job BB. Seeing that the motor still locked on to the hopper with 2 out of the 3 locking tabs, I decided to try and grind some beans. After grinding through about one tablespoon of beans, the grinder started making an awful screeching noise, even though it seemed to be rotating just fine. ownership experience lasted all of 5 minutes and this is being returned.

Great that it has several grinding settings to brew coffee with drip, French press, or espresso makers. But the negatives outweigh those positives: you need superman hands to turn the thinnest mechanism, the capacity is really smaller than a real cup of coffee, the ground coffee spills easily out of the bottom since there is no container. This is a perfect example of style over functionality. It looks sleek, but it is not practical. I return it immediately.
