I am technologically challenged (at least compared to others in my family). The Brother Scanner was very easy to set up and use. The only hard part for me was that I couldn't get my Mac to identify it. My son did go on line and downloaded the updated/current driver to get everything in sync. After that was loaded, I was scanning. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this scanner to digitize receipts and documents and was not disappointed. The scanner scans both sides of the paper in one pass and is rather quick. I found the scanned images (.pdf) to be of great quality and you can choose what quality depending on how much space you have available. The touchscreen on the unit itself is bright and responsive though not used much, as most of the setting are through the software. The software that was provided was confusing to me and it took me a few hours to find a good quality software. I found one that was a one-time payment (most are pay per month, or year) and that stored the files on my hard drive (most are cloud based). The software is Paperless and it works great with this scanner. Overall I would buy this again, even though I've only had it a short time it has done everything I have expected it to do.

Had trouble with installing software on a Macbook Air only because software CD was not up to date. After installing correct software from website for my MAC OS had no problems using scanner. Software is very easy to use and scans documents fast.

Unit works great. It is AC powered. So it's portability deals with its small size. The only problem has been it's use with a flash drive. You have to reset the date and time after turning the unit on. If you are connecting to a computer, it will sync to the computer. With this exception, the images and their quality are very good.

Wireless installation was easy, within 20 minutes (I have moderate computer skills). I had to download the corresponding product software for my laptop from the Brother website. I believe this scanner is easy & intuitive to anyone with moderate, even basic, computer skills. Bought it when I saw myself in a pickle when my research project required me to scan 300+ surveys. I love the duplex (double-sided) feature. And because it's lightweight and portable, I will definitely be taking and using it at work, too. Asked for a price adjustment at Best Buy since their website had it for $50 less than at the store. I've had it for a little over 2 months and am happy with my purchase.

Easy to set up and very clear scans of documents. Also, nice and compact, it would be great if you needed one to travel. I have used this with our home computer and an ipad, both worked great.

Have had a couple card scans for scanning and synching business cards to Outlook, but when they didn't support the change from XP to Win7 I swore off that brand and do not want to use an app for my smart phone, so I bought this scanner. It was simple to install and worked first time with my HP Win7 machine, it's small and fast and the wireless feature is a real advantage. We use it to cut down on all the snail mail we still receive, as we open the mail we scan in the document and shred the originals. This is my third brother peripheral and I would buy another.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money since I didn't do too much of scanning. This works just fine for me and it's really small. I wanted a two-sided scanner with a document feeder.

I purchased this as a replacement for my Fijutsu Scanner which was great but would not work very well with my MAC. This scanner is small, fast, good quality scans and works on PC's and MAC's

Overall, this is a very good scanner. The only minor drawback is with the scanning of thick items, like credit cards. There is a slot at the back that has to be used for a thick item like this and it is only big enough for a credit card sized item inserted small dimension first. Items inserted in this slot are fed straight through, and they can't be fed automatically. An older Epson scanner that died and would have cost more to repair than the cost of this Brother model, accepted cards in the normal feed mechanism, and could be any width, and it could autofeed a small number of cards. It couldn't handle too long a card even though the feed path was basically straight; the material did have to take a slight bend on the way out if the kength was more than a few inches.

We had too much paper in our home office and didn't want to get anothe file cabinet. This was the perfect solution. It is small and has hardly any footprint on the desktop. Easy to set up - buy this one. While it does allow for multiple sheet feeding, most of ours were not perfectly smooth enough to stack. Single feed is pretty fast and not worth getting something more expensive as this is true of all machines. Our tax returns from our acct went through the multiple feeder perfectly.
