I love this little scanner! I originally wanted a battery powered one, but this is so simple! It just plugs in via usb to your computer and that powers it...practically wireless. My only complaints are: 1. that the glass gets dirty and you have to clean it more often than I'd like. 2. Smaller pieces of paper (like some receipts) won't go through it, but I got a few carrier sheets and it works like a charm!

I really like Brother products. Finally upgraded my flatbed scanner with a compact portable scanner. Brother DS-740D scanner has some different scanning options, so it took a little time to try them out. Duplex feature is great if you are scanning photos with written comments on back. You can scan two images - first being the photo and the second being the back of the photo.

The directions to load the driver on my computer were easy to follow. This device can scan small documents like receipts up to a regular size piece of paper. I was able to scan and save about 10 pages easily and I have never used a scanner that was not also a printer. It does require scanning and saving each page separately as far as I can tell. It did exactly what I needed and won’t take up much space. I recommend it.

Solid little machine. Disappointment in right adjustable document feeder guide. Should be made with some resistance. Slides too easily. I did return this item as I replaced it with slightly better model that is chargeable and wireless. The feeder guide on the more expensive model is very loose and moves too easily as well. Both produce good quality scans, and would have kept this one if price had been the sticking point.

Love it, its easy to use. However, the software installation extensive.

Very nice for scanning single items and two sided copies are effortless. It would be nice if continuous copying was supported so multiple scans could be grouped into a single pdf.

This scanner works like a charm. the pages do not jamand the image quality is perfect. The small foot print allows me to keep it on my desk.

This is the third DS-740D I've owned. Scans well and the speed is decent. The duplex feature is fantastic to have on the road. I wish the unit was a little less prone to jams though. But compared to other models available, this unit is great.

The scanner on my printer just took forever to operate, and I’m doing more scanning these days, so was looking for something better. Well, this is it. Small desk footprint, simple to set up and operate, and faster than heck. USB-3 I think. Speedy. Very happy with this model. Tried the one with Wifi first, too quirky and more complex. This is perfect.

Complicated to use. Defiantly not user friendly. Compare different brands before purchasing this product.

I purchased this for my mother for her to be able to scan documents from home for work and this scanner has surpassed what I expected. The duplex function is incredible. Definitely recommend this product.

Delivered home and return. Never opened, it's very compact for sure. I thought I needed it, but I didn't open it after two weeks. Returning was hassle free as always, as a customer since last year.

Needed this to replace my Brother scanner DS620 which was not compatible with my new iMac. This 740D is so much faster and does both sides at once. I love it!
