This is a really nice color laser printer. It comes with a toner value pack installed. A nice option for this particular printer as for replacing toner packages you have the option to put a higher volume toner cartridge in. Print speeds I got a range of 17-19 pages per minute. This is ideal for small businesses. It's super compact. The printed sheets come out of the top of the printer which is great again for saving desk or table space. It has two loading trays. It has a hidden input for different sorts of paper.. thicker for laser specifically if needed and slides allowing for size specific demands. Then the lower tray at the bottom holds up to 250 sheets of normal A4 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper but also has adjustable slides for different sizes as well. As far as connection is does have usb or you can connect wirelessly. One thing I wasn't fond of is the single line LCD. I personally like the 2.5 or 3 inch screens that some even have that are touch screen when selecting any settings or using any of the print features. Overall the print is crisp and clear no running as you may have with ink jet printers. I would definitely recommend this to those looking for a great high volume printer

I love Brother Laser Printers and this Color Laser Printer for needing four toner cartridges is actually compact and fits where my older Brother B&W Laser Printer was without taking up much more space. If you need color, and it needs to be a Laser, this is a good choice. *******SETUP******* Setup was fairly easy. They have good documentation on how to remove the packaging from inside the printer and set up the toner and everything. The hardest part was adding it to my Wi-Fi network since I had to scroll the password in. Only real knock was brother doesn't include a USB cable and I didn't have one handy to use so I did it via the console on the front of the printer. The printer could have paired via WPS but that is disabled on my network, so I had to enter my password by hand. Even doing that, it only took about 5 minutes to add it to my home wireless network. It attached to the network without any issue, and then running Brother's software, I found the printer right away, with no issues and was printing 2 minutes after that. I do recommend though that you connect to the Printer via your computers Web Browser and setup an admin password for the panel. The default password was Admin I believe, so you can see changing that as Brother Recommends would be a good idea. ****USE***** Windows 10 doesn't have any problem in my house finding the printer on the network. It just shows up as a printer and we can print right to it. It warms up fast and then prints out your documents with wonderful speed, and it isn't that loud either, unlike inkjets tend to be, so it doesn't disturb everyone with the printing. I printed a few things in color and they came out great, sharp and with good color. This is perfect for myself for when I need something fast in color or my kids for school projects and it won't cost me an arm and leg to maintain. I do like that each color toner is separate so I can just replace what I need based on usage and not the whole thing all at once saving money, since we do mostly print in B&W in the house. Again this is a great, simple to setup, fast color printer, that honestly I don't think you can go wrong with.

    Another Home Run from Brother!

Oh Brother! Another excellent color laser printer! A home run! This is the second color printer I’ve obtained from the manufacturer Brother. This one impresses me as much as the first one did, and I’m happy to recommend it. I use my printer for SOHO purposes, it gets used for a variety of things from printing letters, printing cards, printing photos, and more. I use all types of paper, from the cheapest stuff I can find to print drafts, to expensive heavy weight and costly photo quality paper. I’ve also manually put through and printed on business envelopes. I have not been disappointed once using the HL-L3210CW printer. It’s fast, it’s quiet and it doesn’t take up much space on my desk. Setup was simple, I started with it tethered to my PC then eventually switched over to WIFI. This allowed me to move it to the most convenient location in my office. I’m at my day job during the week, so it doesn’t get much use until the weekends. What’s nice is I can keep it powered on in standby mode. It’s drawing a very small amount of electricity, but when I do need to print something it comes back up very fast and I’m printing right away. But do be aware that if you don’t use the printer for a long period of time it will pass through standard Sleep mode into a Deep Sleep. This is an ultra low power mode, and when it goes into that mode the printer needs to be awoken in person (in other words you can wake it up remotely). It’s not an issue for me, but just be aware of this in case you use the printer very infrequently. The print speed is rated at 19 pages per minute. I’ve never actually timed it (hahaha), but I can attest to the speed is impressive. No lag, it burns through the print jobs I send it. I’ve always found it very convenient to use the mobile printing functionality. I can print directly from my mobile phone, or tablet. I’ve even printed through the cloud, using Google Cloud Print. Like all Brother products I’ve owned, this printer has been very reliable and I expect it will remain that way. Each cartridge is rated to last up to a thousand pages, and the tone drum up to 18,000 pages. Given my small need for printing, perhaps 50 pages a week maximum, costs will remain low for consumables (the tray holds up to 250 pages depending on the paper stock). The actual print mechanism is LED, which is essentially going to last for the life of the product. A one year warranty is provided, which is good coverage for a low-cost color laser printer. My devices run the gamut from Windows-based PC’s, Linux tablets, to mobile device - all are supported and work consistently well. I haven’t yet had to replace the toner cartridges, and I’ve been using the printer a lot in recent weeks. The cost per page of this printer is really impressive! I’ve used the duplex printing feature to print both sides of a single sheet of paper, which saves money and reduces waste. I’m very impressed with the HL-L3210CW printer, it has been working great and handles everything I’ve thrown at it. If you want to upgrade from black and white prints, to rich color prints you can do it with this printer for a price that a mono printer would have cost years ago. It’s a bargain, grab one. Oh one more bit of advice, buy only Brother genuine cartridges. I tried refilling in the past with other printers I’ve owned. That was always a disaster and ended up ruining print jobs, wasting paper, and eventually ruining the printer. Treat your printer well, feed it good toner and it will treat you to a long useful life. Highly recommended!

The Brother - HL-L3210CW Wireless Color Printer is an excellent, entry-level Small Office/Home Office Color Laser Printer. Brother advertises this printer as a compact digital color printer that is ideal for home or small offices. The printer retails for $199.99. This printer has the following features and specifications: • Rated at up to 19 ppm for its print speed and this is for both color and black and white printing. • 250-Sheet capacity tray • Manual feed tray with a capacity of 1 sheet. • Mobile printing - AirPrint®, Google Cloud Print™, Brother iPrint&Scan, Mopria®, Wi-Fi Direct® • USB and wireless connection options - Wireless 802.11 b/g/n, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 • 1-year Limited Warranty and free online, call or live chat support for the life of the printer. • Dependable, durable, and compact design. • Starter cartridges rated at 1,000 pages. The rest of this review will be done in 4 parts – set-up, usage impressions, cost analysis, and pros/cons. You may see a companion review at https://youtu.be/-SJjnfSOw9M. Set-up: Set- up of this printer is very straight forward. The included Quick Setup Guide is detailed and walks one thought process very quick and has instructions for each of the connection types (USB 2, Wi-Fi Direct, and the many mobile options. The unit has a single line LCD for set up on the device’s control panel. The device software comes with the Brother Utilities App that allows one to update the system firmware, check the status of the printer, download additional software, repair the printer’s network connection, and contact support. Using the network panel in Windows 10 one can also access the devices onboard web page that allows you to see the status, maintenance info, configure some settings, and reports. Usage Impressions: The usage of this printer is very straight forward as it is with any printer. The system’s driver does allow for manual duplex printing and this uses a combination of the manual feed tray and the main tray to accomplish this. The printer can handle up to legal-size paper in the main train. The system allow allows for mobile printing and has options for AirPrint for supported iOS devices, the Mopria Print Service app from Google Play for Android devices, and the Brother iPrint&Scan from brother. For testing purposes, I used the Brother iPrint&Scan software and it was very useful to print both pictures and emails. The only downside for this app that I found was printing from Gmail had an extremely large font size and I could not find a way to change this in the application. Cost Analysis: The $199.99 price for this printer is certainly attractive the real cost that one needs to look at is the price per page cost for the consumables. I use a simple system of dividing that the cost of each cartridge by how many pages the cartridge can print. The best cost per page comes by using the higher capacity cartridges that can be purchased for the device. Doing this analysis results in a cost per page of $0.02 per page in black and $0.12 per page in color (assumes each color used equally). This cost is in line with the cost per page of my other laser printer with its high capacity cartridges. Using an annual printing rate of 12,000 pages this printer would have an annual toner cost of $1755.09 (MSRP for all toner cartridges) assuming equal uses of all 4 toner colors on each page. This again is in line, and technically cheaper by $44.82 than my other laser printer. The Brother MFC-J895DW Inkjet printer has a $0.06 per page for black and $0.03 cents per page for color (interesting that this is cheaper) when using the high capacity ink cartridges. Using the same annual print capacity is would have a cost of $1,843.80 for the Ink Cartridges. Summary: Overall this is a very nice office/home office printer. Some of my image prints had some banding on them but this could be that the cartridges were new. The text was crisp and good. While this printer is advertised as a compact printer, I find it to be of a regular size at 16.1” W x 18.1” D x 9.9” H and the unit weighs 37.8 lbs. Pros: Connectivity options, cost, speed Cons: Quality may not be as good as other laser printers, inability to select a font size for Gmail print from mobile app,

Not many years ago having a color laser printer at home would be cost prohibitive. This printer shows printing has come a long way by providing a great quality printer with excellent features at a very reasonable price. It's now possible to have a laser printer for home or SOHO use. The wireless feature was easy to set up on the network and was found by all machines. The print quality was very good but you may want to print greyscale if you don't need color to save toner. I haven't had the printer long enough to know how much toner will be used but it is something to keep an eye on. Typically laser printers get better yield than an inkjet. I really like this printer and would recommend it.

I typically use a multi-function inkjet printer for everyday use like printing directions and recipes or scanning and copying documents. But sometimes I need to print documents that look clean and professional, which is more of a challenge for inkjet printers. That’s where a good, inexpensive laser printer is very useful. Brother describes this printer as compact, but it’s got a pretty big footprint and it is a bit heavy. If you’ve got a good place for it though it’s not a big deal and you’ll only have to life this once to put it in place, so overall size is not a big issue. Setup was very easy. The picture instructions are very easy to follow. One thing I really liked is that it ships with the toner cartridges in place. All you have to do is pull them out one at a time and remove the protective strip on top, then push them back in. Once all the protective taps and paper was removed, I went to the link on the instructions and downloaded the installation software. The most important thing to remember is to follow the instructions in order to avoid having to go back and start over (I made that mistake). Installation was fairly quick once I carefully followed the instructions. Now the important part, printing. The first thing I did was print out a MS Word document. After just a few seconds, the data light started flashing and out came a very professional, crisply printed document. I was very impressed with just how quiet this printer is. I am so used to how my inkjet printer vibrates, wobbles and loudly grinds out paper that I wasn’t sure it actually was printing until the paper floated out. The next thing I did was print a picture of our very large family at a holiday dinner. I selected that photo because of its complexity of colors, textures and objects in the picture. It took just slightly longer to print. It was very clear and crisp although colors did seem slightly muted. Still for a non-photo quality printer it did a serviceable job. I won’t quote all the specs as you can see them for yourself in the printer description, but to me, it printed very quickly and quietly. One thing to remember is that this is not a multi-function printer, so if you need copying and scanning, you won’t get that with this. But for pure professional printing, you can’t go wrong with this printer. Especially at this price point.

As someone who has primarily used inkjet printers, I was excited to get my hands on this one. A color laser printer with a good price point is a good thing. The very first thing I noticed is how big and heavy this printer is! Wow! It is a load, lol! Once you get it out of the box and plugged in, setup is pretty simple. There is no printer cable, so setup for me was via wifi. Adding the printer to our computers and connecting via wifi was no problem. I was anxious to get this thing going so I could see if it was as fast as advertised. It absolutely is! This thing is great for large print jobs in a hurry! The specs advertise 19 ppm and it delivers. The quality is very good and I like the manual feed slot as I do print photographs and it is nice to just feed a sheet of photo paper through when needed. Photo print quality is very good. Other than that, there isn't much to write about. This is a stripped down printer that does not offer many features. One thing I did find funny was the very basic control panel. It's straight from 1995. So while this printer is fast and capable, it has no frills whatsoever. It is a perfect printer for the small business on a budget that needs to print big jobs quickly.

Good Color Printer, But Rough Around the Edges

The Brother HL-L3210CW is a solid color printer as far as print quality and affordability goes. However, as I'll discuss, it is lacking in some seriously useful features which caused me to drop my rating. First, this printer is not compact in any shape, form, or fashion. Being a color laser printer, it uses four separate toner cartridges which is ideal since you can replace them individually instead of having to buy a new combined cartridge just because one color is out. These four cartridges take up a lot of space which is why this printer is so big. It's not huge, but it's bigger than your average printer and even some multi-functions. Keep this in mind as you explore your options. Out of the box, the printer feels solid and well built. Panels open smoothly without feeling too flimsy or delicate. All of that said, the control panel feels like it's straight out of 1999 with it's rubber buttons and one-line monochromatic display. I have an inkjet with color touch screen display that is far more functional and modern than this one. If you need to connect to a WiFI and enter a password, this will take you a while as you scroll through the alphanumeric list one character at a time. What's that? You're just going to connect directly to your computer? Not so fast. They don't include the required USB cable. That cable costs next to nothing so I fail to understand why they aren't included. Depending on how you plan to connect/use the printer, setup can be quick or take a while. Obviously, USB is the fastest and my Windows 10 computer found it instantly. I still downloaded the latest drivers from the Brother's website instead of using the included CD and recommend you do the same. Connecting the printer to your WiFi will take a while as I explained earlier. Once connected, my computer was able to find it and I was able to use the AirPrint function from my iPhone connected to the same WiFi. Most settings can be configured from the printer settings on your computer. This is good since the Brother iPrint app is clunky and not very useful. I harp on this a lot. If you're going to develop a companion app, actually develop it and do it right! Let's just say, this app didn't take up space on my phone for long. Once you're up and running, printing is quick, quiet, and quality. I found the blacks and colors to be bright and crisp. Prints are more than sufficient for business uses such as printing graphics, flyers, and marketing material. This printer will print pictures, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are needing high quality prints as it's just not what it is meant for. My inkjet is a photo printer and it does a much better job on pictures--especially with photo paper. One VERY noticeable feature lacking from this printer is it's ability to duplex print. Duplex printing is a cost and time saver. For me, a printer that can't duplex isn't a printer for me. In conclusion, I will say this printer does a good job for what it is designed to do. It prints good to great quality texts with basic graphics. It's quiet. It's fast. However, there are some big drawbacks (the control panel on the printer itself) and the lack of a duplexing feature. If these aren't things that matter to you, this printer could be a great option because I do think it is a bargain. The individual toner cartridges are also cheaper than my office's current color printer from HP. Pros: -Cost -Print speed -Print quality -Build quality Cons: -Outdated and barely functional control panel -Lack of duplex feature -Size/weight

Hi, Thank you for being a Brother Customer. Your feedback is very important to us.

A USB cable is not included with the purchase of your Brother machine. A list of components included with the machine is printed on the outside of the carton.

Brother doesn't include USB cables with its printers, fax machines, or Multi-function Centers (MFC) because there are often multiple ways to connect these machines to a computer or network, and we are unable to anticipate which of these connection methods you will use. Including multiple cables for multiple connection types would unnecessarily contribute to environmental waste. Brother is committed to conserving the global environment.

If your Brother machine is wireless-capable and you require a USB cable to initially connect the machine to a wireless network, you may be able to 'borrow' a USB cable from another device, use it to connect your machine to the network, and then reconnect the cable to the original device.

The Brother machine has a Standard-B USB port, so you must use type A/B USB cable. We recommend the cable be 6 feet or less.

Your machine doesn't support automatic duplex printing. However, you can print on both sides of the paper, by manually flipping the paper. Here is a FAQ that may help.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this printer when I received it. It looked like it might be a great performer but it also looked a little basic from what I read of it. Here is how it went. Unboxing: The package is rather large. Fully packed, it weighted about 44 lbs. Inside there is not a whole lot but it is very will packaged. You will find the printer, a power cable, documentation and that’s pretty much it. Set up: When removing all the tape holding the moving parts together, I was surprised to see how large the toner cartridges were. You will find a Bl C M Y colors. I did some research and each cartridge provides around 1300 - 2300 pages depending on the capacity you buy. So even though they might be pricey, they will last a good amount of time over an ink jet. After removing all the tape, I installed the brother software on my Mac. The drivers are on the Brother website and print software is found on the Mac app store. It was pretty seamless. What was a little annoying was the wi-fi setup. Since the interface is a single line, you are best trying to set up the wifi via a USB cable to your computer. If you do it via the screen and buttons, you will be working on that for a while as you need to press up and down to make every selection. Also, I might have missed something but it looks like the High speed USB 2.0 cable is using the older USB type B (not mini) printer size. I was just surprised because I don’t see these much anymore. Use: Use was a breeze. Printing had zero issues when the drivers and printer were installed. There are not a lot of settings to choose from when printing so it is essentially black & white or color. Be aware that there is no duplex ability. This was not an issue for me but for some office work I can see it being a big problem. I have never had an electrophotographic LED printer before so I was very pleased with the results. Text we much crisper then that on an ink jet and print speed was much better as well at around 19 ppm. Quality is essentially in between that of an ink jet and a full on laser printer. Text looked amazing as did simple graphics. What did not look so great was photo printing. Now to be fair I only tested this on plain paper, not photo paper, but colors were overall washed out and I could see a lot of banding that was not visible on screen. Results might be better with photo paper. A positive to this though was the fact that the photos didn’t have any real “dots” that I could see like would be visible on most ink jets. Summary: I highly recommend this for small office work. For text and graphics, it is great. Speed is amazing and you will get lots of prints out of it. I take away two stars since I would really like to see duplex printing and a better interface on the device itself. I do not feel too bad about the photo quality as I do not feel that this would be a use for and office printer anyways. I would say 3.5 out of 5 if it were an option. So in lack of a 1/2 option, I am going to round it down to a three.

After one week of testing the Brother HL-L3210 CW I found this product to be a great deal for the money. At the date of this review, the product was listed for $199.99 on the Brother and best Buy. When testing a product, I understand that different price points may have different capabilities. I found this product to be excellent with black and white printing and only good at color printing. Good for presentation but you wouldn’t want to use this product as a photo printer. At this price point, I think that would be understood. After reading other reviews I understand there are some concerns with the deep sleep function on this unit. I wasn’t able to duplicate this issue, therefore, I suspect that the problem has been resolved. I also didn’t experience the ink level issue either but this was a one-week test. If this is an issue, I will revise this review. This is a small office or small business printer with lots of options. Its 250-page feeder, wireless network printer. The footprint is a bit large for say a student dorm room but perfect for a home office. Its fast laser quality printing for a very good price. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

This review is based on home office use and mobile printing. Out of the box you have the printer, power cord, instructions, driver CD and the pre-installed ink cartridges. Note this printer is substantial in both size and weight, due to this it resides under my desk versus on top. You will need to follow the unpacking guide to remove the shipping packaging on the ink cartridges. Overall, 5 minutes of setup total to remove each cartridge shipping material and reinsert. Next you will need to pair with wireless or USB. For this review I'm using the wireless setup, but you can also use a USB cord as well (not included). The pros for this printer are speed, affordability, quietness and the basic essential features it offers. As far as cons, my biggest complaint is that the printer display interface is small and cumbersome, with the menu not being intuitive. It took me a few tries to get through the wireless setup pairing with my Android device. For me, this was the one big miss on this printer - either a better app than the Brother iPrint to walk through connecting or a larger display menu to easily complete setup. Between this and the included driver CD, it feels like Brother's tech team may be about 10 years behind. Second is a lack of features, I didn't find that the wireless printing options provided on my Android gave me much flexibility, for example options for double sided printing and lack of different paper sizes (legal, letter, a4, a5), Overall I like the Brother 3210CW as a basic, limited use printer, it responds quickly and gets large volume prints completed within minutes. If you need a fast printer that you will connect with USB and only make copious amounts of single sided prints, this is easily a 4 star printer, however if you have additional printing needs, need a scanner, or want something that is quick and intuitive to switch between printing styles, this won't be the best fit.

For people who do a lot of printing it just makes sense to use a laser printer over a inkjet printer. Ive always wanted one and after going through a few different inkjet models I felt it was time. After I got it on wifi all of my my computers were able to connect up to it without any issues. Windows 10 was able to just scan and find it. For linux I had to install the drivers from Brothers website and the printer was auto added. So connecting went very smooth. As for the actual printing it does a pretty good job. Very clear, sharp, and professional looking. Lot better than my inkjet. The color quality is ok. Its not as vibrant as a photo printer but its still good enough for day to day use. Once thing to note is that its compact for a laser printer but its still bigger than your typical inkjet printer. Keep that in mind here because that also makes it a lot heavier as well. I did notice that it draws a lot of power when its printing. Causes my office lights to flicker a bit. Might have to move it to a different room. The display is very tiny so it was a bit tedious connecting to wifi the first time but it did work first try. There is a upgraded model that has a touch screen but if you don't need that this model will save you some money. Below is a list of pros and cons based on my personal use. Pros: easy to assemble does black/white and color prints look very sharp and professional prints faster than inkjet quieter than a inkjet holds quite a bit of paper supports windows, mac, linux, and mobile supports wifi and direct connect Cons: small display large power draw when printing no network port does not support 5ghz wifi frequencies heavy I would say in all I think this would make a good printer for small business and home applications. If you do a lot of standard printing this is the way to go.

It's overpriced. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this printer, it's just not worth $225 after tax. Older models of these Brother printers produce the same quality prints for half the price. There's not enough new features to justify the price for this printer.

The Brother HL-L3210CW is a mix of good and bad. I really wanted to like this printer but I’m not sure who the target customer is. It’s promoted as a budget unit for a small office but it misses the mark in several areas. First thing, this is not true laser printer, the HL-L3210CW is an LED-based color printer. Not that it is a bad thing, but I wonder if that has to do with the slower print speed compared to black and white laser printers. Additionally, there are some quality differences (albeit small) between LED’s and laser printers (laser printers are just crisper in their prints and the colors are more even.) In reference to print speed, it matched the advertised speed for basic text. It was crisp, clean and uniform. However, for mix of text and graphics with color, the printer is as slow as a middle level ink jet. In my unscientific testing, it seemed to be less than half the full speed of text printing. I did a direct connection via USB and the only other option is wi-fi connection. So that begs the question, why is Brother creating a printer for an office environment with no ethernet connection? I prefer an ethernet connection for all my printers. To make things even more odd, even though this is a wifi printer, you cannot use Brother's cloud based apps ( I think all of their other printers can use that.) You can still use Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and Wi-Fi Direct. So back to my initial statement in this review of who this printer is for? Yes , it prints both color and black and white but who is printing in color in a small office environment? If someone needs color , they certainly would want something higher quality than a sub $200 printer. Most office environments need a fast reliable black and white printer . For a reference point, HP has a printer that is about the same price , same foot print, has an ethernet connector and prints literally at twice the speed. So would I recommend this printer? Unfortunately, no for most. It is a good printer - the quality is good, it is well built and prints okay. And I am still giving it 3 stars. So why the no? Because for $50 more you can get the next level printer in the Brother line up or a competitor and the upgrade will give you a faster printer with a more robust feature set. I understand that Brother is trying to keep the price down for this “budget entry” but you get so much more for a little more money or a much better black and white printer at the same cost. So in Summary, if you are on a tight budget and need low volume color printing from a good manufacturer than this might be a fit. If you can spend a little more, go for the upgrade.

This is the first time I have had a color laser printer, I have only had inkjet or laser black printers in the past. The print quality on this is very impressive, and it prints so much faster than an inkjet printer! I have printed off several color pages already and they all look perfect, I am very happy with this printer!

Let me start by saying years ago I tried some Brother Products and was not impressed, So now years later, thought it would be nice to print on a Laser Printer. Expectation was, newer technology should be an improvement! Well, there are definitely some cons and a few pros. It would have been nice if Brother included a few of their recommended types/brands of paper. Just a couple of sheets to show the printers capability. So, Instead, I purchased gloss brochure laser paper and printed a few pictures. The printer is very fast, The included iprint&scan software works very well. The print quality is terrible. Most of what I printed had a heavy red faded hue. I re-read the manual and checked all printer settings, checked to make sure cartridges were in their corrosponding locations. Tried another brand of laser paper. Tried another photo program to make sure correct colors from software, tried printer color calibration. nothing worked. Still terrible results. The other thing I noticed is the power consumption is heavy. The printer itself is built quite well, very solid design. I consider this to be a good document printer, but will continue to use my inkjet for photos. Unless the performance of this product improves, I cannot recommend it.
