We finally decided to give in and buy a laser printer when our inkjet messed up and stopped printing black ink. I researched for months before deciding. Price was a huge factor and this one had great reviews. It does everything I could possibly need it to do! Our main reason in buying a laser printer I s homeschooling, but as the church clerk/secretary I have already used it for church purposes as well, like when our church printer quit on us. The only thing I’ve not tried is faxing as I just don’t have a need for that. I hooked it up wirelessly and it was super simple. Everything works well. The only complaint I have is printer speed. This may be something I’ve just got to configure myself or maybe I misunderstood the copy speed for the printer speed. Either way, for now my way around that is if I need to print multiple copies like say for the church bulletin like I did last week, I can just print one from the computer and then make copies of the rest. If I try to print all from the computer, it wants to restart each time so it seriously takes about a minute per copy. That’s not cool, but maneageable with the copying until I can find another solution. I have printed from my iPhone, iPad, and iMac all. There was one slight issue when trying to print from the iMac that I have to resolve too. Even when I change the printer settings to short edge (duplex printing), it still printed on long edge. I honestly don’t remember now if I printed from my phone or a flash drive, but one of those ways made it print on short edge. Anyway it still gets five stars from me because I haven’t had too much time to research and find solutions. The print quality is excellent and it does everything I need it to do! I know the toner is just a starter set, but it’s lasting great so far! In summary, even though I’ce had a few hiccups with it, nothing has been major and I’m very pleased with this purchase. You’d have a hard time finding a better deal! Trust me, I researched for such a long time!!

When my inkjet printer bit the dust, I decided to switch to a laser jet. After researching and reading reviews, I decided on this one. Am very happy with the final results no matter whether I am printing, scanning or copying. Have no plans to use the fax function. PROS: overall quality is fantastic does not use much ink set-up wasn't too bad CONS: takes up a lot of space, but worth the quality the installation CD is out-dated, needed to go online to download drivers, which wasn't too difficult speed is slower than I expected Overall, this is a decent multi-function printer and glad I chose this one.

Have been extremely pleased with this printer/copier/fax. I looked at a less expensive unit, but after comparing print quality, speed, and any on-going costs for toner replacement, there was no question that this was the best printer for me. Also, I've has much success with the reliability of a previous Brother laser printer, so the track-record is good!

I’ve always been a HP guy, but got this at someone’s recommendation. It is awesome and hands down does just as good or better than my HP printers. For the value and costs of drums this beats HP, and side by side you cannot tell a difference in print quality. I had to get an extra copier for my home office and honestly use this one as my primary and my HP as a backup. We love the connectivity with our Apple products as well as the Ease to set this up on the network. I’d by this again and recommend it above HP for anyone that might be on the fence.

Prints wirelessly in duplex mode from my Mac Mini, my iPad and my iPhone. Great print quality. Scans wirelessly to my Mac Mini. Functions well as a copier. The only drawback so far is that the disk that came with it doesn't work with the latest version of MacOS, so I'm going to have to figure out what files I have to download

I have had good luck with Brother Printers. The cost is reasonable, the speed is fast and they are really reliable.

Made the jump from an Inkjet to color laser jet and did some research before purchasing. This printer does it all including duplex. Initial setup took some patience getting the software loaded and printer connected to the network. Getting the printer connected to iOS AirPrint to print from iPhones and IPads required disabling the IPv6 settings on the printer which is easy to do from the printer’s touchscreen. It is a known issue and is more of an iOS problem but once I adjusted this setting everything worked perfectly. The color and resolution are excellent for business and craft applications. I haven’t tried printing card stock so I cannot comment. Overall this is an amazing printer for the price. My whole family is happy with this printer.

I had Brother monochrome laser printer for years and would like to upgrade to color laser with wireless and duplex printing. This laser printer meets all my expectations and needs. It is easy to set up, not too complicated. It prints very quickly and gives sharp both black and color printings. Plus, 2 sided printing and scanning are very convenient and are my favourite features. I like that it has a paper slot in front that you can just insert one paper in it, instead of pulling the whole tray out, for printing something that use different paper from the tray. I also like that it has USB slot in front, so I can scan documents and save them directly into usb and good to go. I can email scanned documents directly from the printer also. The only thing that I don't like is that the smell of the laser ink is quite strong. I recommend to put this printer little bit further from your desk so you don't smell the ink.

Brother printers have always been very reliable and easy to use. This one is right along those lines. It is a little bulky, but very easy setup and use. The ink is quite expensive but it lasts for a long time

This is an awesome printer for heavy duty reliable color and black and white printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. Why I rated this printer so high: 1) was super easy to setup on my home wifi 2) it has an excellent automatic document feeder. This is very helpful for copying, scanning documents Super fast in a bunch as opposed to scanning/copying each sheet of paper on the glass 3) the Automatic document feeder does double sided copying and scanning. This is awesome. What this means is I place a stack of double sided sheets to be scanned or copied , hit start and walk away. And magically all of them are scanned or copied correctly and perfectly. 3) an awesome feature that no one stated in the reviews I read is I am able to scan documents directly into my PC from my printer. To be clear, my printer is in the upper level of my house and my PC is in the basement. Once I load all the Brother software and drivers (which again is very easy to do), I connect my printer and PC to the SAME access point on my home wifi. Then I put my documents (double sided) into the document feeder and hit the start button on my printer upstairs and forget about it. Later when I go downstairs to my PC, I find all of my double sided documents automatically scanned into PDF on the hard drive of my PC. This is spectacular. I absolutely love the reliability and quality of the scans. 4) printer quality is fantastic for documents. I do not print photos. Also the initially toner cartridges last well over a month or of HEAVY printing. After that I purchased the original Brother toners. The color toners last longer. Perhaps because I printed more black and white documents 5) bottom line this printer is awesome value for my money. There was a time HP used to make such good laser printers. I believe this Brother laser printer (multifunction) is better than the best HPs I used over the years. Buy this printer if you have heavy document printing, copying, and scanning needs. I have not tested the faxing function yet.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PRINTER!!!!!! EVERYTHING I PRINT COMES OUT BEAUTIFULLY AND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE WAY IT FUNCTIONS. ALSO, IT IS VERY INTUITIVE SO I HARDLY EVER NEED TO LOOK AT THE INSTRUCTION MANUEL. I HAVE NOT SET UP THE FAX MACHINE YET BECAUSE I ALREADY HAD A BROTHER PRINTER SET UP FOR THE FAXES, WHICH ALSO WORKS FLAWLESSLY! I HAVE GONE THROUGH MORE INK THAN I ANTICIPATED, BUT I NOW HAVE A COLLEGE STUDENT IN THE HOUSE SO I AM GUESSING THAT IS WHY, ALONG WITH THE FACT THAT THE CARTRIDGES THAT COME WITH THE PRINTER PROBABLY DON’T HAVE AS MUCH INK AS A FULL CARTRIDGE. IF THINGS GO AS WELL AS THEY HAVE WITH MY PREVIOUS BROTHER I’M IN LOVE!!!

The printer has many feature including duplex. It prints quickly and of good quality. Can be hooked up many different ways including eithernet and wifi. Easy to set-up and get working.

It's a very easy to use printer and it's easy to change the toner . I wish they had the bigger size black toner, as most do -- instead, they have it for magenta... Also wish there was a way to enlarge or reduce to different sizes than those pre-set.

Good quality for printing everything (as far as I"m concerned). The wife wants something higher quality for printing her photos so we may end up with a stand alone photo printer at some point. I think the photos look fine, but everyone has a different opinion, I guess.

I've had many printers and they were always inkjet. My daughter bought this brother printer last year, after extensive research (as she does with every big ticket purchase), and opted for the Brother laser all-in-one printer. It yields more black/white copies, making it less expensive when needing to buy more Ink, prints fast, easy install and the feeder works great for printing quantity and faxing. When my printer recently stopped working altogether I didn't even hesitate and went online and bought it myself. I'm very happy with it and recommend it highly to anyone that prints high volume black/white copies.

I love my new printer. It was easy to setup and easy to use. I bought this printer because I was so sick and tired of my old printers not working when I needed them to. They always used to loose ink on their own and need cleaning.

We have had several ink-jet printers. They work well for a while, then the problems start. After finding that repairs were difficult and expensive, we decided to move to a full-featured color laser. We already had a print only Brother Laser so we felt confident in purchasing the multi-function model with scanning, a document feeder and fax capability. We have been very happy with the performance; quick output and excellent quality. The duplex feature saves a lot of paper. A great choice!

I love this printer. I was looking at printers in the 100 dollar range. My husband convinced me to look at printers at a bit higher price point. This one had all the features I wanted. You get what you pay for as they say. So easy to set up, does a fantastic job for me. I love that I can print from my phone and tablet as well as my computer. Toner is pricey but each toner lasts for 1000 copies. You do need four colors to run it though. don't let the cost of the toners scare you away. Excellent printer.

was a little tricky to set up the scanner. This machine does alot of fan blowing when in idle for a few minutes after printing. Significantly more noise than the $100 HP sitting next to it.

This is my first laser printer and I couldn't be happier. The prints on this printer are just as good if not better than the commercial quality laser printer at school. It took a little while to set it up but once it was working it is consistent and fast. The only negative I have (and the reason for 4 stars) is that the toner cartridges say they are empty long before they really are. There is a trick to resetting the counter to get the rest of the toner out of the cartridge but this is a pain. That said it's an excellent printer for the price and I would definitely buy it again.
