Easy Security without sacrificing performance

I’ve had mixed feelings about the need for an extra internet security software. Microsoft does a really good job of protecting most situations with its included security features in Windows. The only problem with that, is that I feel that works well if you have a bit of technical know-how. This became evident when my 3 sons started using PCs. While I might know what not to click on or what emails to never open, they don’t have the same experiences I do. So, some form of extra protection really comes in handy in these types of situations.
Some things that I think are important for my use case in a security software are, low resource usage, no negative effect to our gaming, parental controls, and constant updates to virus/malware definitions. Luckily, the BullGuard suite checks every one of these criteria off. It comes with enough licenses that I was able to install this on all 3 of our gaming laptops. I was able to easily configure my sons’ laptops to limit what sites, or topics they can open/search for. It has features that also let you limit or set schedule for internet usage, but I use the software in our wireless router, so I didn’t use that section of parental controls.
This software is very lightweight as far as resources are concerned. It has had no negative effects to system performance on either of the 3 laptops we are using it on. You can’t tell that you have a security software installed which is fantastic. It even has a Game Booster feature that allows your games access to online components without you needing to fiddle with settings. This Game Booster automatically runs whenever you start a game, no need to configure or set it up. We loved this feature since we’ve had bad experiences with security software blocking or giving some games issues when they are trying to get online.
This software is great, keeps us feeling protected, it has frequent updates, and keeps our systems running exceptionally smooth. Once we had it installed there was little to no setup to make sure that everything stayed running smoothly, and updated, even the initial update and scan went smoothly. It’s lightweight, protections, performance boosts, and parental controls make this a great piece of software. The only thing I thought was off, and this is a real minor thing, is that the interface looks pixelated. The UI gave me 90s gaming vibes. I am guessing this is the style they are going for. It’s not that big of a deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning. This is an easy recommendation to anyone looking for an extra layer of protection without sacrificing performance.

I was curious to try this out on my Android Devices (Samsung Tab S7 Plus and S3) as those are my primary devices where I multi-task on. Using tablets is a very interest experience, as they never quite replace my laptop and I don’t know how safe they are to viruses. Again, my curiosity got the best of me and wanted to see how BullGuard was as a Android Internet Security option.
Setting up was a breeze as you just download the BullGuard app from the Google Play Store. It does require at least 1GB of RAM in order for it to work. Thankfully, both devices have 6/3 GB respectively. Once it’s downloaded it automatically begins to check the device. This was sort of annoying as I have a subscription and so I had to navigate to the MENU and type in my credentials. Once that was done, I re-scanned the tablet. The scanning took a few minutes and showed “Your decide is clean”. Again, I am skeptical to see how effective it is. On the top left of my device(s) there is a notification tab showing the BullGuard image and stating “BullGuard is actively protecting your device”. That is comforting to know and visually have.
Navigating the menu, you have Antivirus; Parental Control, Antitheft, Backup and WiFi Security.
Overall, this is a pretty easy app to use and navigateD very simple navigations and options.

Quietly working in the background

I’ve had several antivirus programs over the years and this one has been one of the least intrusive that I have seen. Like the fact there weren’t any constant pop-ups to upgrade or try their VPN or premium upgrade, even though it is there in the menu. Without changing some of the settings everything just seems to work in the background.
There is a lot to this Bullguard application that is more than just internet security. It has a simple menu, drop down boxes for everything which lumps some features under one category. But, this includes antivirus, firewall, parental controls, a secure browser, vulnerabilities, backup options and PC Tune up & Game Booster. Identity Protection, Home Network Scanner and VPN all require upgrade. Each of the dropdowns have quick options like scan and manage functions of that category, but also have settings that just lead to the same settings page as all the others.
The PC Tune Up section has different functions that all help optimize your PC in some way or another. Such as clearing browser cache, helping you identify files that are taking up storage space and a duplicate finder that you have to be careful with as some applications have duplicate files but for different purposes. I was surprised that it found a duplicate photo that had a different name and different date but was clearly the same upon observation. The Cleanup Helper simplifies the file explorer of windows to folder/file size and directs you to the folder so that you make the decision of what to do with the file, rather than offering to remove it directly from the app.
The Backup feature allows you to direct a backup to Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, an external drive or network location. It doesn’t really guide you through the process, but it is simple as picking what you want saved, where you want to save it to, when you want it to do the backup, like weekly, daily or monthly and how you want it to save it. It also allows you to encrypt the backup and filenames for added security.
As for antivirus protection I tried a few test sites and my browser did more blocking than Bullguard. But, when I downloaded the test virus it wasn’t until I extracted the file that it would catch it and put it into quarantine. I have had some programs actually catch it as it was being downloaded in the archive and stop it before it even finished downloading, but this one did not. It was the same situation on my Android device, where I downloaded a test virus application and Bullguard said it was clean while a different application flagged it as a virus and suggested removal. Other major review sites say it stopped their virus tests and I don’t have their complex tools to test it, but the simple options I had didn’t meet my full expectations.
I know many programs have multiple services running to perform their duties, but I was surprised by the number of individual services running since I have installed Bullguard. It really makes them stand out as they all have red icons. I noticed 11, but they all were pretty low resource usage.
One feature I liked that isn’t so obvious till something is captured, is the messaging center. When nothing drastic has happened it shows as a little chat box in the top right corner with a 0 in it. Going through this you can see more details of what has been permitted through your firewall, any previous captures and some additional logs. For the most part though, it is just brief summarizations that the application did something.
Some options, like the Parental Controls and advanced firewall settings rely more on Windows features. You must have an different user profile on the Windows computer to take advantage of the parental controls. The firewall settings literally just opens up the Windows Defender Firewall settings when you click the advanced tab.
You get similar features on an Android device, but also when enabled you have additional Antitheft features that can be used to help locate, lock, wipe or “scream”. Through their Mobile Security Manager site you can see recent virus alerts and see a map of the location, which may take a bit to update. Initiate the lock or wipe options or activate the “scream” feature to find where you set your phone even when muted. However, the scream has no way to stop it once your phone is located and you just have to let it run its course. There are also parental control options that can show recently installed applications and recent taken photos.
Overall, the features are nice and it did stop the test virus on PC, not so much the malware application on Android. It offers more than just virus security as it helps keep your PC running smoothly as well as protection for your phone. It is fairly discrete and less annoying than some others I have tried.

DEAD EASY INTERNET SECURITY – FIREWALL – ANTI VIRUS / MALWARE
I never thought that much about how to actually review internet security software. I have always used antivirus and internet security software and for the most part works great until it does not and you get a virus or malware. Nothing is ever 100% foolproof (speaking as card carrying fool myself). So, backup frequently is my main advice.
BULLGUARD INTERNET SECURITY – was quick and easy to download and install. I ran a full system scan (several hours) and it found nothing (as I expected). I’m already pretty careful with my browsing and download habits, but sure sometimes I click on cute cat picture or celebrity gossip without thinking about it. Without a full blown test lab, I can’t really speak to how well it handles suspicious behavior until or unless it fails. So how do you prove it works? I’m not going to actively seek out shady sites to try to infect my computers and networks. So what else can I tell you?
PRO’s
- Quick Install, no bloatware to click past
- Has not significantly hampered system performance that I’ve noticed
- Clean Simple easy to use interface
- 3 devices protected for the one price
I have not found any negatives so far. It is throwing some false positives, but maybe that is OK as it is better to be safe than sorry. A quick google search shows that many AV programs are also giving false positives on this particular file that BULLGUARD INTERNET SECURITY also flagged.
RECCOMENDATION
Until now, I’ve not heard of Bulldog (seems to be about 10 years old), but with most other free and paid AV companies basically turning their products into marketing spam engines for more expensive products, it certainly is worth considering BULLGUARD INTERNET SECURITY for your antivirus needs if for no other reason than to avoid getting pop up ads from your AV provider selling you “dark web insurance”.

Installed the BullGuard Internet Security software on a Windows 10 Home fully updated laptop. The laptop is running a Ryzen 5, 8GB of ram, and a Radeon RX 560X. I downloaded the software and went to install it. The first issue I had was the drivers were not Microsoft certified. I would think that would be a given for any protection software. But I click more info and tell the OS to install the new software. After that, the installation went without issue.
The software works, but all the popups in the lower right corner sure are bothersome. So, too is the resource hog it is during startup. I power up the laptop and just walk away from it. With Windows doing its start-up thing and BullGuard running a scan, my disk is at 100%. Once these are all done and it takes minutes, sometimes it seems like double-digit minutes to get the system to respond to any input, I’m able to use the PC. After that, the security suite seems to run just fine. I’ve tried to see if I can turn off the scan, but so far, no luck. With that, the bad stuff is done.
As for the good stuff. I like the suite. As I said, once it’s booted up, it runs nicely and plays nice with the PC. The suite has antivirus, a firewall, checks for vulnerabilities, a backup app, parental controls, secure browsing, and a game booster. You can pay for an upgrade that will allow for home network scanning, ID protection, and a VPN.
So, my opinion of the software is that it’s good, but the popups and lag on startup are enough to keep me from buying it. I’ve had better luck with other manufacturers, and I’ll probably stay with them. I’d have it on this laptop as well, but I used all five devices allowed, plus I wanted to do this review. I really wanted BullGuard to be great, but like many other protection software companies, it has its pluses and minuses. If you need internet security, you could do much worse than BullGuard, but in a few cases, you might do better. It just depends on your PC specs and if it completely bogs down your start-up.

Like any other internet security software on the market, this BullGuard offers advanced anti malware protection and excellent security features.
We always had naming brand antivirus software installed that was slowing down the system and was looking to try this new software for its excellent security features like game booster that boosts CPU performance when playing games. It also has firewall & network scanner, secure browser in built, parental controls, pc tune-up and much more.
Purchased 3 device protection and received the instructions by email with the code. Downloaded and entire setup took less than 7-8 minutes. UI is not that intuitive and has dropdown for each setting.
Virus Scanner has 3 scan options. Quick Scan, Full Scan and Custom Scan. Full scan took longer as expected compared to other options but was able to quarantine any test files that had malware.
Tried the secure browser and it blocks the phishing sites and some malicious script on the website but was not that impressive and didn’t use due to the browser extensions support that I use with chrome browser.
Overall, it performs as advertised and is a powerful anti-virus/malware scanner at affordable pricing for multi device protection.

This is great virus protection suite. I’m always a fan of virus protection software that gets out of the way and this one does just that and gives you piece of mind that your devices are protected.
Setup is super easy, the program walks you through everything you need to do to get up and running. After that I haven’t noticed a ton of annoying pop ups like some other software will do.
Overall I haven’t run into any security issues. Bull guard has done a good job detecting anything that could be a potential issue and quickly locking it down.
This suite does have a few other cool features that I feel warrant some attention. The game booster does a great job freeing up cpu and ram space to maximize the performance of your p.Mac during gaming sessions. Also, the parental controls feature is really nice. Being able to filter websites and set online time limits really helps when letting kids online and gives you a little more peace of mind during that time.
Overall this is a great security suite that does what it does really well without trying to be in your face about everything it does. I feel safe online with bull guard and it would make a good defense for any home pc need.

BullGuard's software is very easy to install and does the job of protecting my computer. After installing, I ran a scan and it identified several vulnerabilities/malware infestations which it cleaned easily. I like how it runs in the background and doesn't try to get me to buy more software every 5 minutes like it seems other companies do.
The only downside I have identified so far, and worthy of losing a star, is that you only get 3 licenses. My family has 3 computers, 3 tablets, 3 cell phones. It would be nice to pay one fee to cover them all.

So far I'm loving the BullGuard internet security software.
I insist on easily downloaded and installation of software and BullGuard meets this expectation. Download of the product was fast, easy and efficient. There were no hiccups and the install went smoothly.
What I also look for in software such as this, is no discernable slow-down of my operating system. I personally installed this product on three of my computers (Microsoft Surface Laptop, Acer Laptop, and an HP Desktop. To his end, I say hurrah! All of my computers run fast and efficiently. I have used other security systems in the past which were hogs with RAM and system resources. I'm happy to report that BullGuard is lean and all computers in my household didn't even blink an eye.
The BullGuard software gives the the option of utilizing a secure browser. I've used this browser and it performs just as well as the Microsoft browser. Pure solid performance.
I ran a vulnerability scan and I was surprised to see that the Microsoft One Drive was not digitally signed by Microsoft. It also indicated that the Microsoft Bluetooth A2dp driver was not digitally signed.
Lacking from the BullGuard software is a VPN. Virtual Private Networks are important, but this is an option that is available for purchase. It is not included with the software package that I received.
On a final note, I do hope that BullGuard is capable of catching internet issues before they infect a computer. The product boasts malware protection and real time detection which is reassuring. Keeping my fingers crossed for smooth sailing.

Bullguard Internet Security is a new protection suite for your PC, Android device or system running a MacOS. Installation was simple and completed within a few minutes. This is the first time using the product and I like the control panel like interface which has separate areas which I will cover here:
- Antivirus Real-time protection, which scans files as they are loaded, and through the dropdown driven interface additional options for Quick, Full, Custom, Settings and to determine which files have been previously quarantined.
- Firewall – software-based firewall, with the ability to manage rules, see activity network activity in logs, with some insight into hosts which have been blocked. Looks pretty good however 95% of people will never have to do anything here.
- Vulnerabilities – shows vulnerabilities in the configuration of your device, it did find that I was behind on Microsoft Updates and provided me guidance.
- Backup – simple backup functionality, will back to Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and USB devices/Network Drives. I configured a simple backup job and it seems to be fairly straightforward.
- PC Tune Up & Game Booster – will perform the normal maintenance functions, Windows and Browser cleanup. A duplicate file finder (which is handy) and a Game Booster which lowers the resources Bullguard utilizes during game play. This is supposed to configure itself, I have seen it take action on one game which it asked me to allow to access the internet and marked as optimized in the Game Booster section.
- Parental Controls – have not really looked at or reviewed this feature.
- Secure Browser – opens a private browser, similar to other browsers with a InPrivate or Incognito mode.
- Identity Protection – available as part of an upgrade to BullGuard Premium Protection.
- Home Scanner Network - available as part of an upgrade to BullGuard Premium Protection.
- BullGuard VPN - available as part of an upgrade to BullGuard Premium Protection.
Overall after using Bullguard Internet Security for over three weeks, I have not run into any issues. My PC seems to perform well, real time scanning seems to have minimal impact on system resources and even when performing a full scan, the use of CPU cycles seems to adapt when other process starts to contend for CPU cycles. I do like the interface with each of the areas covered using a dropdown interface. The firewall and antivirus seem to have many different configuration options all which lead to a lot of flexibility in use of the product. Overall, the product does what it is supposed to do, with minimal impact on the performance of your PC, even when using the most resource intensive applications or games – Bullguard Internet Security seems to get out of the way without leaving you unprotected.
Pros:
- Easy to install.
- Cool interface with each area having a dedicated box with dropdown boxes to dive deeper into that function.
- Signature updates happened seamlessly in the background, with indicators of activity on its taskbar icon.
- Built to not impact resource intensive applications or games.
Cons:
- None observed so far.

BullGuard Support & Their Software Are Awesome!

I have tried a few different anti-virus & internet security solutions recently. I hadn't really heard of BullGuard before so I wanted to give it a shot.
I have a gaming laptop & a gaming desktop that I wanted to test this software on. The gaming desktop also doubles as a media server so it is constantly on and constantly put through the wringer.
Installation
Installation was straightforward with no hiccups whatsoever. The ease of setup had me really impressed. It just seemed to work out of the box and was silent all the time. It almost had me worried that it wasn't working.
Setup
Again, it pretty much set itself up after the install. It was super easy & I was and still truly am impressed with how well it just worked. This is great for end-users because most won't want to confirm a bunch of things.
Use
As I have stated BullGuard was super quiet and never gave me really any indication it was or was not working. It wasn't a resource hog (a huge plus in my book) and it wasn't constantly bombarding me with messages (another huge plus in my book). Where I ran into issues was that Plex Media Server would not stay launched & in my taskbar. It would load, then just disappear within 10 seconds. I did some digging but couldn't find the culprit, keep in mind nothing pointed to BullGuard being the issue even though it was the only recently changing item. The Plex logs showed it reporting that the Plex port was in use & it was closing. Very odd. Okay, so I killed BullGuard because standard troubleshooting theory says that is the course of action. It was still happening. What in the world is going on!?!?! So I fired up the Task Manager & I saw something that frustrated me. BullGuard was no longer in my system tray, I had made sure of it, but it was still running in the background. Wow! That is not good! It is doing exactly what it should NOT be doing! I rebooted, launched Plex Media Server, the same problem. Okay, next step in troubleshooting: remove the software, so I removed BullGuard Internet Security, launched Plex and it worked. Rebooted & Plex ran at boot. Installed BullGuard again.... the same problem as before: Plex is in the system tray then disappears. Great!
Interaction With Technical Support
I contacted Technical Support with a whole list of questions:
1. Why wasn't Plex allowed, it is surely an app that is known by a lot of people & companies too?
2. Why did BullGuard continue to stay operational?
And so on.
I can say that I worked with them to get all my questions answered & I left the conversation feeling very impressed with their knowledge, willingness to install & test software on their end & so on. They went above & beyond and I'm extremely happy I gave their IS software a chance. I still have it on my machine because another brand (remaining nameless) was constantly bombarding me with problems. Yeah, it took a little finagling on my part to get it to work but my system is super complex as I have multiple Media Server software running, over 100TB of HDD & SSD space, GPUs in SLI, and so on. It is rather complex, so it takes some special handling sometimes & I've become accustomed to it.
Conclusion
While I was using the software it performed as well as the competitors would have in similar instances (I know because I had that annoying competitor running on another laptop visiting the same sites to see what it would detect vs. BullGuard) & their Tech Support is as knowledgeable as they are made me a customer for life (unless they do something shady or underhanded to change that). I don't believe they will-but I was a longtime Kaspersky user too & that changed.
I really like BullGuard & will continue to use their solutions. Thanks for letting me test & thanks for working with me too!

Bullguard internet security provides thorough real time protection against computer virus and malwares. The app also has firewall features, which will supplement the real time antivirus protection by blocking incoming threat against your computer. The app also gives you the ability to monitor your device vulnerabilities. There’s a very useful secure browser feature that you can use to surf the web safer. Also if you share your PC with kids, the app comes with parental control feature. You can install and use the app in multiple devices across different platforms.
The most interesting feature is the PC Tune Game Booster, which will protect your gaming experience from framerate drops. It is a very useful feature especially if you use your PC to play competitive game such as Fortnite, PUBG, etc. Fortnite seems to run smooth while the app is running in the background.
One of the concerns when using an internet security app is how the anti virus will consume the PC resources thus affecting its performance. I am happy to report that this internet security suite seems to be light enough and I did not experience any drop of performance that would be attributable to the internet security app. I’m using a PC with the latest generation of intel i7 processor and 16 GB of RAM to test the app.
Overall, this seems to be a reliable internet security app with tons of features. It definitely should give you much better layer of protection than what Windows Defender has to offer. I cannot stress how important it is to get this kind of app if you use your PC regularly to connect to the internet. Based on its performance and the features, I rate this 5 stars.

Installing the software is super easy and about as standard as other programs you buy online; you’re sent a link and activation code, which allows you to download it. As stated in the item's description, this is a 1-year subscription you can put on 3 devices (less if you want, but no more than 3). I downloaded this onto my PC and Samsung laptop to get a feel for it.
Of the other security software I’ve used in my life, this one is probably the most conspicuous. By that I mean there are very few pop-ups to the point that I’d frequently forget I had it running. It didn’t ask me to purchase extra add-ons constantly, didn’t let me know my computer was fine, and really only bothered me if it needed to update. If I did want to see the program, there was a shortcut on the bottom-right side of my taskbar. All I had to do was click on it and I could get a clear overview of my computer security.
I didn’t get the upgraded subscription, so I don’t have identity protection, a home network scanner, or the BullGuard VPN. What I do have in addition to the standard firewall and antivirus is parental control features, a way to secure my browser, backup capabilities, a PC tune-up and game booster, and an option that tells me if my computer has any vulnerabilities I should take care of. I’ve played around with a few of these features and have been overall satisfied with BullGuard’s performance.
I don’t really have anything negative to say. Of course, it would’ve been nice if the identity protection, a home network scanner, and the BullGuard VPN were included, but for the price, I think what’s offered without the extra upgrade is enough if you’re looking for solid security for your device. Depending on what you do with your device, you might want to look at something a bit more expensive if you have more sensitive material. But for the average layperson, I would definitely recommend this as an affordable option with good PC protection.

This review is specifically for a windows PC as it is pretty much the only thing I use online. I’ve had various antivirus software since it first became a thing. So while I never think of myself as any sort of expert, I do feel I have had enough experience for my opinion to at least have a little bit of weight behind it.
I love this product. Since I got it setup it I sometimes forget it’s even running. Some software in the past has constantly made its presence known by causing performance issues or constant messages. In fact, I think it has improved my performance. The optimization features (which sometimes just feel like words that mean nothing lol) actually did something for me. Not sure how but one of my games that used to annoyingly crash once a day or two has been crash free since I utilized the PC cleanup and optimization features. Love that! There is a secure browser feature that may not be as feature rich as other browsers, but has become my go to whenever I’m accessing anything financial related. I love the simple yet comprehensive layout of all the options, well done there. I already have a VPN that I use so I wasn’t interested in upgrading to try that feature. The backup feature is fairly basic yet effective. I was able to back up what I wanted onto an external drive with options to set regular backups or encryption.
As far as its main purpose, keeping viruses out, well that is a little harder to judge. I have had no infections since running the software, but it has not any opportunities to yet. However I did a little bit of research into that before deciding to give this product a try and it does score very well on that as well. All in all I am impressed with this software package. I’m about to install it on my 2nd PC (where McAfee just expired) and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Picture Download Issues

The BullGuard Internet Security package appears to be sold only as a digital download. It was easy to install from an email link, although it did take longer to install than expected. I didn’t time the install because I expected it to go quickly, but I think it took about 1 ½ hours. My internet speed isn’t super fast, so that may have been part of the issue. The license is good for 3 devices. I installed it on one of my PCs and on my iPhone6. The iPhone install seemed a little odd. I downloaded the app as instructed in the welcome email and logged in with the email associated with the first account. But it only gave me a 7 day subscription and wanted to charge me $84.99 after the trial period.
The product has a game booster, parental controls, encrypted cloud backup, vulnerability scanner, firewall and behavioral detection. The 2021 edition is advertised as being the “fastest release ever”.
My primary PC is a 2 month old HP Pavilion PC (that I purchased using Best Buy rewards) with a Ryzen 5 4600G processor, AMD Radeon 3.7 GHz graphics, 12 GB Ram and a 512GB SSD. I sell on eBay and Facebook Marketplace and the majority of my day is spent taking pictures, sending them to my email, downloading them and then using them in the listing. The security program scans the pictures when the file is opened. The scan and download typically takes 2 - 4 seconds per picture and they are in the download file by the time I click on “add photo” in Facebook or eBay.
After I installed the BullGuard Internet Security package everything seemed fine for a couple of days. I didn’t notice any slow down. I got a few messages that my PC had been scanned and everything was OK.
Two days later all that changed. Pictures that used to take 4 seconds max to download took 4 - 5 minutes. When I opened an email (like those from BestBuy.com) that have a lot of pictures, the pictures would take 4-5 minutes to load. Fortunately I only installed the software on this one PC so I still had a usable one.
To make sure the issue wasn’t with my internet, I downloaded the same pictures and opened the same emails on my PC without BullGuard security. The download was the same as before - done in 4 seconds or less. Pictures in email advertisements downloaded quickly as well.
To prove that the problem was the BullGuard security program, I uninstalled it. Once I did, everything worked as it did before and I could get back to work!
Since both the picture downloads and the emailed advertising photos have Gmail in common, it is possible that the slow down with BullGuard is related to Gmail. I was able to go to a website with lots of pictures (like Ebay.com or Macys.com) and everything still loaded quickly. Except for the problem with pictures, everything seemed to work seamlessly, although I was not able to verify how well the firewall and security features were working.
I can't recommend BullGuard to anyone who uses the computer the same way I do, but it might work well for applications that don't involve picture downloads and Gmail.

I have used a lot of Internet Security software suites and this is by far my favorite as an avid gamer. You do not get Home Network Scanner and Secure Browser unless you upgrade to Premium but there is everything you need in this package to keep your PC running smooth. Updates are automatic and the scans running fast. The most important thing to me is the Game Booster feature. It automatically limits notification interruptions and optimizes your computer to prioritize a gaming when it is running. I can tell a big difference when it is being used and this is what makes this software so unique. I have seen other Internet Security software offer a reducing in notifications while gaming but not the ability to boost performance like BullGuard. The company is headquartered in England so I feel confident that my data is as protected as it can be.

A PC without antivirus and a firewall is an invitation to spyware, virus, phishing and hacking. BullGuard promises to address all that. It comes with a ton of features. Problem is that if you want some of them, such as Identity protection or VPN, for instance, you must upgrade to the Premium edition, which requires a monthly subscription. However, the included features are enough for most people and the software doesn’t keep bugging you to upgrade.
Contrary to some firewall/antivirus I have used, it is not intrusive, and I haven’t noticed any negative performance hit my devices. It stays mostly quiet in the background.
I like that it has parental control although I found it limited, not offering much more than the one built-in in my router. I wish it had more control than it does, but it is easy to use and good for those who don’t already have a way of controlling access.
I would say that the firewall is more like an addition to Microsoft Defender. I’m very demanding when it comes to firewall and my preference is to have dedicated hardware for that but again, this is great for anyone who doesn’t have one.
One of the best features for me is the gaming booster. As a gamer, I’m always looking for ways to improve my experience and antivirus/firewalls tend to slow games down. Fortunately, no noticeable slowdown in any of the games I play.
Although I am rating it as 3 stars due to my expectation as a power user, I do recommend it for the features and especially for the ease of use. It does its job well. My recommendation to McAfee is for them to try and update their UI. It’s simple and straightforward but I have seen it since at least 2014. It’s time to bring a new look.

the BullGuard security software was super easy to setup. I followed the provided instructions, entered my software key, answered a few questions, and was up an running in a matter of minutes. I like that I have the option to protect multiple devices, ranging from Mac, Windows, and even android. We all carry around our phone/pocket PCs, but the last thing we think about is protecting our mobile devices from online threats. Well, no need to worry BullGuard has you devices covered as well.
I feel confident that my laptop, PC, and phone are protected from online threats. My devices are automatically scanned for any potential threats, so I can browse with confidence.
I would highly recommend the BullGuard security software to anyone!

BullGuard - Internet Security 2021 Edition (3 Devices) (1-Year Subscription) - Android, Mac, Windows Is a great security option for both PC and Macs when you need a complete security protection option for your computer. Recently, even the impenetrable iOS system has been shown to be vulnerable to attacks so now is the time to get security installed.
I found this program to be excellent when it was finally installed, but frustrating to install and time-consuming. I had to manually removed the factory installed security system and the system mechanic program I subsequently installed for BullGuard to finally fully install. It took over 2 hours to complete the process thus the 3 * rating. If it had installed on its own without so much time investment on my part it would be a 5. This could simply be a one-off related to my previous software, but it seemed excessive either way!
PROS
- Solid and Secure
- Complete Internet Security in one product
- Love the VPN!! For both computers and smartphones!
- Easy to use once installed
- Plays nice with your CPU/GPU
CONS
- Difficult to install if you have other existing security software installed.
I would still recommend it, but beware it may take some effort depending on your configuration.

I have been using the Bullguard Internet security for a few weeks now. It was very easy to install and has been running quietly in the background. What I like the most about it is that it is not intrusive and I hardly notice it is there. It is good for three devices - but I have only been using it on a brand new laptop at the moment. It comes with parental controls which I do not need to use - but would have been helpful about 8-10 years ago. It allows you to limit time, monitor activity, block sites and more. Very handy for anyone with young kids!
