Awesome camera and sharp kit lens

This camera is loaded with features and focuses quickly. I am still exploring the many options and settings available. I stepped up from a Canon T1i and find the 70D menu easy to read due to the familiar Canon interface. There is a lot to learn and I am having some issues learning to use the 19 focal points on manual mode. With practice, I will master this skill. I bought this bundled with the 18-135mm kit lens and really love the focal range. The lens performs well in low light and is tack sharp. The price was right as well since I received $200 off the camera and another $100 off for bundling with a 55-250mm zoom lens. That lens has a good reach but does not seem as sharp as the 18-135mm lens.. This camera is recommended for its video quality and I have only used it twice but I was pleased with the results. It was easy to use and I tried it without reading the instructions. Overall, I am definitely pleased with this camera.

    Incredible offering from Canon

I sold my Nikon D7000 about 2 years ago and regretted it every, single day. It was an amazing camera that I never thought would be equaled. That is until I purchased the new Canon 70D. This DSLR is even better than my previous Nikon. The picture quality is just fantastic in any lighting. I shoot a lot of saltwater aquarium pictures where the lighting is all over the spectrum. This gives most cameras trouble when it comes to gauging the depth of field and color. Not the Canon, the pictures are stunning and the lighting is accurately reflected in the pictures. The wireless feature of this camera works flawlessly. It enables you to connect to your camera via your iPhone. You can then transfer or view pictures right from your camera, or to your Mac or PC. No more inserting the SD card and copying. Of course you can still do that if you want to. The quality of the 70D is fantastic as well. The body is balanced well and the included 18-135 lens is a great all around lens. It will most likely fit any need you have. Moving targets are no problem for this camera either with the supreme auto focus ability. After quite a few shots in all weather, lighting, etc. I cannot find a "con" to this offering. It is worth every penny.

I am a beginner and this is my very first DSLR camera and so far I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I was originally looking to purchase the Canon 7D but I decided to wait until the 70D came out last month, I'm glad that I waited because the 70D basically has all the features of the 7D but also some added features all for $300 less. This being my first DSLR camera I didn't realize how deep this camera is (feature wise), the picture quality is great. I purchased this camera primarily to do video (but have enjoyed taking photos also) and I am very happy with the auto focus capabilities of the 70D, it is very smooth and seamless changing your point of focus (in my opinion it's equal to what you'd see in t.v. and movies). The 18-135mm stm lens that comes with the camera is very nice and the focusing motor is very quiet (you can't hear it at all when it's focusing). The wifi feature is a great added feature because it allows you to control the camera remotely (you have to download the free EOS app) which is good for doing self portraits, with the EOS app you can set the aperture, iso, shutter speed, focus, take a picture, and review pictures from the camera all remotely from a smartphone or tablet. As far as low light capabilities the 70D performs very well, I used it at 6400 ISO and had great results. This camera is so deep that the sky is the limit as to what you can accomplish with it. For anyone thinking of purchasing a new 7D, do yourself a favor and get the 70D instead and you won't be dissatisfied.

I love this camera! The shots it takes are wonderful, it's great at high speed shots. The only issues I've had are trying to get the flash to work, and the low ISO and Aperture when taking high speed shots. The ISO and Aperture issue can probably be fixed with a different lens, so I'm hoping that will work to help with that.

This is the best camera I have ever had...and I have had a few (Maxxum 5d, a350 and a K100 SE 35mm. I chose this over a full frame, due to the articulating touch screen, and the crop sensor factor. The camera does very well in low light . 7 fps is quite adequate for MOST situations. For best results use "L" glass. See photos.

This camera is incredible in its performance. It has features that allow creativity, yet is easy to use. I love the tilt out, touch screen!! It allows me to get ground level shots without getting on the ground, and when you hold it over your head, you get above the crowd. Simply amazing.

I am coming from a T3I (which I was more than happy with the image quality but needed more features). But when I got this 70D I just could not believe how sharp the pictures are and the colors are so true! I have been using the 55-250mm IS STM and 18-1235mm IS STM lens with this camera and the whole set up works fantastic. I did not think I would like the touch screen but it turns out I use it most of the time to adjust my settings. The video and shooting autofocus work great although I have had a few times where it would not autofocus on something usually in really low light conditions. When I posted some pictures on facebook all my friends and family commented on how much my photography has improved (they didn't know I got a new camera) I like to photograph wildlife, and the pictures of birds are just amazing you can see each fiber in their feathers and the small cracks in their talons. I find myself constantly looking for things to photograph just because it seems like each photo pleasantly surprises me. The shutter speed and FPS work great so that I can freeze the birds midflight and get tack sharp photos too. I highly recommend this camera!

    Best DSLR Hands Down

A little history: I bought into the Canon DSLR cameras starting with a T2i a few years ago. Liked it, but often ran into it's shortcomings. Anyway, the camera did launch my interest in photography. So I upgraded to a T3i and eventually a T4i. All of them were "OK" in my book, but still I could outdo the camera too easily. Someone recommended a 60D to me, and since they were cheap at the time I tried one out. Fell in love with that camera. No longer was I limited by the camera's abilities. Sure, one of the more higher end Canons would be nice, but I just couldn't afford that much camera, nor did I use it enough to justify the thousands price point. So, when I saw the 70D I was convinced it was my next step. The 60D sold very quickly online, so I jumped into a 70D with the 18-135 STM lens day 1. This camera is as much of a pleasant surprise as the 60D was when I bought it. The dual pixel focus feature must be seen to believe. Amazingly fast and accurate. The STM lens is also fast and quite good for what I need. I do have a couple other lens' but haven't tried them yet because the 18-135 is just that good. It didn't take long at all to get used to the new button layout. And the new dial setup is very pleasing. I've found the built in creative modes highly enjoyable. I use both of the HDR modes quite a bit, and occasionally the night time 4 shot mode. The results are amazing. I've not tried much in the way of movies yet, but feel the camera will perform better than expected. And the touch screen turned out to be much more useful than I expected. Makes navigating some of the features much faster and easier. If I were to squeeze a negative out, it's the price. I paid less than 1/2 for the 60D, but it had already been on the market for a while. And a lot of experts wrongly bashed it due to it's "mid-level" performance. Little did they know it would be such a hit. So Canon too advantage of that and priced 70D to match the expected popularity. Good for them, bad for us. Oh well, I still feel it was money well spent.

Overall a great camera with no purchase regrets. It has great features, but you have to play with it and don't worry about messing up settings. Just reset them. The more you play with it the more comfortable you will be using it to its full capabilities. Happy shootings. The only issue I had was that the inside of the eye viewer was dirty and Best Buy would not clean it or send it to canon for cleaning because I did not buy their cleaning option.

The image quality this camera offers is exceptional compared to other cameras on the market. I am very impressed with the smooth video autofocus as well. Another great feature the 70D has is the touch screen, which allows you to change your parameters. I would have to say that the feature that impressed me the most is the autofocus. All- in- all, this camera makes me look like a professional photographer instead of the novice that I am.

I've come from a prior Rebel series camera and had Canon lenses and a Speedlite flash already invested, otherwise I would have considered getting a Nikon. With that said, I debated between this model, the new T6i and the T6s. I wen to BB in my area and took an SD card and played with all 3 models. Eventually realized that the 70D autofocus is by far the best you can get in this (Canon) price range. Coupled with the 18-135 lens I feel I don't really need anything else but a good size SD card. Granted I do have a 50mm f1.4 lens that I use when the setting is right, I pretty much just leave the kit lens on. Its GREAT for video. I also do have an 55-250 lens but feel that I really don't use it as much as I used to when I came from a kit 18-55. Plus the kit 18-135 lens just has phenomenal auto focus with the STM feature. There is no 'hunting' or jitter while focusing. Overall the only thing I wish this camera had is the following: * ability to start video while in WiFi mode * ability to VIEW your videos on WiFi mode * a headphone jack to monitor sound during video recording But those aren't that big of a deal. To be fair I haven't used the built in flash too often, given the 430EX Speedlite that I can use, but I do feel all the features are good on this model. My last Canon I kept for 9 years and I plan on keeping this one for a while- I do feel the construction is just 'better' than on the Rebel line. I'd say if you are considering the T6S with the same 18-135 lens, if you can just spend a little more, the autofocus in live view on the 70D **ESPECIALLY IF YOU CARE ABOUT VIDEO** is certainly worth springing for!

I finally upgraded from the Canon 40D to the 70D. I'm very happy with the overall performance. I've been most impressed with the quality of photos in low light compared to the 40D. I also like the HDR feature where it takes multiple shots at different exposures and automatically compiles them. With the 40D, I had to do this in photoshop.

This is my second canon camera and I LOVE it! I've been saving for a year and this has well been worth the wait. The photos/images are clear even in their natural unedited phase. The camera is also very user friendly and a nice intermediate camera if you don't want to purchase a Mark.

Still figuring it out but what I love about the 70D is the automatic settings which allows you to take killer shots and the 19 point AF really blows away my 10D which I bought new when canon first started this series. This camera is working so well in lowlight conditions i'm impressed and the touch screen is going to be very useful as well as the WiFi with remote app. This camera is SWEET!!!

I upgraded to the 70D from the 30D so this camera is just awesome. Little to no noise on ISO 1600 for video and stills. Face detection auto focusing works great with kids. The Canon kit lens 18-135 STM lens is very good for video with its IS. In low light, even though its a 3.5, bump ISO to 3200 and video quality still looks surprisingly good. For stills, I'd use another lens but its decent enough for whatever. Touch screen is very responsive. Would have liked to been able to plug in my Bose QC15 headphones into the camera to monitor audio levels and adjust accordingly. Overall, GREAT CAMERA!! my gear: Canon 400mm 5.6 L Canon 50mm 1.8 Canon 18-135mm 3.5-5.6 STM Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 Canon BG-E14 battery grip Rhode Stereo Video Mic Pro

I am very happy with this camera kit, including the 18-135mm zoom lens. The metering and autofocus systems are flexible and accurate, including low light situations. The cell phone EOS Utility works well with the built in wifi as a remote that allows shutter release, settings changes, and picture review. Although not purchased for its video capability, I was surprised at the quality of the HD video, including a very balanced audio output that surprised me from a built in microphone. Image stabilization, built into the lens, is very effective. Although somewhat confusing at first, the camera is set up so that most settings can be changed in several different ways via the LCD screen on top, the bright LED screen on the back, or through the viewfinder.

I only really got into SLR photography about 4 years ago, and bought my first Canon Rebel T2i. For a beginner, it was great but as I became more experienced I definitely wanted to try more creative shots. I was going to upgrade to the 60D earlier this year, but decided to hold out until the 70D was released after reading some pre-release documents, and am so glad I did. It is an awesome camera - the features and image quality really do make my T2i feel outdated. I have been blown away by how good the pictures look and how much I can do with the camera. The video quality and silent continual auto focus are amazing. A few weeks in and I am learning new techniques every time I use it. The lens included in this package is perfect as a multi-purpose lens and stays on my camera most of time, with only the occasional switch for my wide angle and 300 telephoto. The STM technology is quick and silent. I would buy this camera in a heartbeat again - it is expensive, but the photos and memories you can take with this will be more valuable.
