Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the PIXMA MG7520's print quality, ease of use, and wireless functionality, with many praising its convenient setup and sleek design. However, some customers expressed concerns regarding the printer's noise level, limited paper tray capacity, and occasional reliability issues. The warm-up time was also cited as a potential drawback by a few users. Overall, the positive feedback on print quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments on minor inconveniences.

    Good printer for everyday use

I was very disappointed when my last Canon printer suddenly went belly up after only 3 years. It was a discontinued model and like so many other products, manufacturers make changes to newer models that downgrade the quality! I did an enormous amount of research before purchasing this model. There are far too many models on the market, some of which are closeouts, so this can be an exhaustive process. This was the second one we purchased - the first was a Brother we bought at Office Depot that turned out to be totally worthless - a real dud. My husband spent 1 1/2 hours installing and troubleshooting, only to find out it had a damaged print head and would not print anything. During the browsing process, we discovered that nobody who worked at Office Depot, Office Max, or Staples knew anything about the printers so they were of no assistance whatsoever. At Best Buy, there was nobody around, but by then we knew we had to make a decision and buy a printer, having taken back the Brother a few days prior. This printer is less intuitive, does not have the capability of scanning negatives and slides, and is overall not as high quality as the Canon MG8820. The two paper trays are a bit odd - one is strictly for small photo prints. There is NO manual feed, which is another feature the other printer had. The other one ate up cartridges and I ended up spending 40 times more on the supplies than the original printer. Canon printers are notorious for that ... but they have the added benefit of separate color cartridges including gray, unlike most of the HP models where the cartridges are tri-color. The other really odd feature is something called an Image Garden where you can organize images, etc. I don't need this gimmicky feature - my file management skills using Windows Explorer fit my needs just fine. These criticisms aside, it is a decent everyday printer and is more aesthetically pleasing than the last one - I like that it is white. And the photo quality is very good, at least in the 4 x 6 prints - have not tried a larger format yet.

I'm very happy with this printer. The quality of the pictures is very good. This machine is a work horse for a great price. The other day I had to print out 150 programs for a friends event. The printer handled the job easily and quickly. I am very happy with this printer and would highly recommend it.

I bought this printer because it does a nice job with color photos and handles routine print jobs well. I don't like the inconvenience of the dual cassette paper feed and the awkwardness in loading them and having to register the paper after every loading. I'd recommend it with reservations.

My husband & I went to BestBuy to buy a different printer and met up with a Canon Salesperson. He sold us on all of the great options that this printer has. It also comes with a full set of ink cartridges, not the "starter set" that most printers come with that run out immediately! That was worth about $70 right there. The printer is a good size for home use and works well with iPhones & iPads. Very easy setup. We're very happy with our new printer!

I am very pleased with this purchase (This is actually my second one. I reside in PA and NY and I didn't want to lug it back and forth. But I loved the first one so much I bought this one). Its very easy to setup and use. Very clean and sleek design. Fits in well with my home office decor. I love the wireless printing feature. I can print from anywhere and from my phone or tablet. The printer even turns itself on! Canon did a great thing by providing a full set of ink cartridges, not samples, so you can really test the printing skills of this printer. The quality of the prints are top notch. Very professional looking. At first I though that it is way too many ink cartridges to buy but the "grey" ink cartridge really adds another dimension to the color scale and brings photos to life. Page printing is fairly fast, for a printer this size. You can also print on both sides to help save on paper. One thing I wish it had was a feeder tray for scanning multiple pages. If you have a lot is scanning to do it can be time consuming. But with all the other great features and the quality of the prints I can overlook this as I don't scan that often. Overall a beautiful product and a great buy!

I had a Pixma MP600 until the printhead clogged. I bought the MG7520 as a replacement and an upgrade (now I can print from my iPad.) Overall, I would prefer the old printer to this one. Good: --Print quality is slightly better than my old Pixma. --Scan quality is good. --Sets up as wireless network printer to print from multiple devices. --Snappy design. --Separate drawer for photo paper/CDs. --Auto wakeup. Bad: --Takes a long time to wake up. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes to start the print. Most of the time, it takes over a minute. Hit print, and it makes noises like it's draining ink (probably is.) --Gray ink? Seems unnecessarily complicated with little benefit. --Flimsy scan top - won't hold a book in place - you have to press down --Register paper? - every time you open the drawer, you have to tell the printer what kind of paper is in there. (It's my paper! Let me take it out of my printer drawer without being chastised about it.) --My Image Garden bloatware

Best All-Around Printer I Have Used

I bought the Pixma MG7520 during an in-store promotion, and got a GREAT price. I know there are many printers in this class and price range; however, I have literally thrown away two printers costing two to three times as much just because the customer service was so bad and couldn't (or wouldn't) solve a simple problem. Having a Canon G7 camera, I have had very good success with Canon's service. So, now I have this printer, and we will see how it goes down the road. But for now, this printer is EXCELLENT!! I have printed photographs, presentation documents, and even printed on printable CDs, and all results are truly outstanding. The photos look like they were processed professionally. I have been watching the ink levels as I go through the first batch to determine the usage for each type of printing application used, and so far, the printer seems to be reasonably economical with the ink. As I said before, I have tossed printers that, despite the price and the hype, cannot come close to the print quality, functionality, and ease of use that this Canon exhibits. Highly Recommended by me, a somewhat knowledgeable photo and printing amateur, especially if you find a great price.

I do photography for a living and this printer is amazing at printing high quality photos without messing with their color. Easy to set up and load. Plus its wireless, which is a bonus. Easy for my wife to use for her school work as well. Only downfall is if your printing from the app from your cell phone it is slow to print, but from a computer is fast.

Why did I choose this printer? - Fed up with HP, went through too many HP printers in 2 years. - Price was favorable. - Manufacturer Authenticated Ink was cheaper than it's competitors. -I needed a photo printer to print on high quality decal paper, but I also needed a scanner to store basic documents. My thoughts: - When registering the product, Canon gave me a coupon to use on their online store for 50% off any photo paper purchase. They also had a few promotions running at that time like buy 1 get 3 free, etc. and I was able to get almost 5000 sheets of assorted photo papers(glossy, semi-gloss, matte) and sizes (4x6 & 8.5 x 11) for under $50 shipped. My receipt from Canon said "-$389.96 from discounts". So I was super happy with that. - I printed a few stock photos, and some photos I took with my DSLR, on the Canon photo papers and the quality was phenomenal for the price. - As I mentioned my original intention for the purchase was to print on specialized decal paper. There was no standard setting for this, but playing around with the advanced options, and the help of google, I was able to achieve fantastic results. - Because I printed a few test sheets that had some wet ink, I figured it would be best to run the automatic printer cleaning. It didn't take long and ran without trouble. - I can't really comment on the scanner because I only use it for black and white .pdf files, but it does the job quickly and easily nonetheless. Easily the best mid-level photo printer I've ever purchased. Highly recommended for the average user.

I purchased this printer to replace another that was failing. I had it loaded and set up within a half hour of taking it out of the box. It was extremely easy to set up as a wireless printer on my home network, which is the first time I have ever set up a printer in such a way. I use the printer a couple of times a week for different projects, mostly photo projects right now, and it has worked flawlessly so far. I have yet to see how well it does on consumables, so I me further modify my review at a later date. The photos so far are excellent with no banding and good color rendition, fully acceptable for what I am doing. The first print takes a bit of time to come out, but after that, things speed right along. I think this would be a nice printer for casual home use by non-techie type people. I like it a lot.

Having many Canon products and never being disappointed we chose this printer since it ticked the boxes and was a Canon product. Took it out of the box followed the easy directions for wireless installation and done! We printed a wedding photo from our Son's wedding, shot with a Canon 40D camera and it is a great 8X10 suitable for framing. Colors are crisp transitions are smooth couldn't ask for more at this price point. Best Buy sales person was helpful in selecting extra ink and covering warranty info so we feel good all around about the purchase.

Super easy setup to get you up and running in minutes. I love the separate ink cartridges so it is inexpensive to replace if only one color runs out (best but I found had best price) and love that I can use either my iPhone, iPad, or computer to print. And can scan items too.

This printer performs many functions and it does a good to great job printing photos. It's too soon for me to know about reliability since I have only recently acquired it. I am relying on the Canon and Best Buy brands plus reviews. It was on sale at an excellent price.

I bought this printer with poor quality expectations for the price I was paying. Let me tell you I was wrong. This printer produces awesome pictures. I never knew they even had printers that used more than 4 colors. I am using a Nikon D3300 and my daughter uses a Nikon D3000. The pictures looked for the price of the printer. I like that overtime you open the drawer to put in paper, it asks to select the settings to the paper you are using. I do not use Canon paper and it will take a selection or 2 to find out what setting works better for whatever brand of paper you are using. All in all, WOW!!! It was easy to setup and never had a problem yet and I had it for over 6 weeks.

Pros: Very sleek looking design that looks good sitting in the corner of a desk or on an entertainment center. Wireless sync is incredibly convenient for printer placement and use. Separate paper tray for photo paper and regular paper so no switching required when used for both. Output tray automatically opens when print job starts so no worry about keeping it closed for looks. Comes with decent software suite for enhancing photos. Cons: Paper tray holds less than 100 pages and needs refilled often. Registers as two separate printers on computer (photo and regular) so print jobs can get sent to the wrong paper tray resulting in wasted ink or "paper size not valid" errors.

The printer was easy to set up, and prints very nice pictures. Also nice is that there are two separate built-in trays, one for plain paper, and one for photo paper (although neither hold a lot). All in all, a very nice printer for the price.

I was in need of an all-in one system for my house. But what really made me target this item was the reviews about it's ability to print digital photos. I bought some photo paper and tested out printing photos taken with my Sony a6000. Wow! The results were great! I had been dissapointed by prints I had done at a local Walgreens pharmacy. I compared the prints side by side and the Canon prints were far and above in quality. They looked closer to what I see on my computer screen of the digital file. It is not professional fully, but they look amazing to me. The system comes with full set of ink in the box. I printed (8) 8x10, (10) 5x7, (10) 4x6. And the print levels were fine. The system is very easy to use and I was impressed with all the options. Wireless set up was easy and print speed was very fast.
