Customers are impressed with the PIXMA TR150 Wireless Inkjet Printer's print quality, ease of use, and compact size, frequently praising its straightforward setup and reliable performance. Many appreciate its wireless capabilities and lightweight design, making it convenient for various uses. A common concern, however, centers around the need to purchase a battery separately for portable printing. Overall, the positive feedback on ease of use and print quality outweighs the negative comments about the additional battery cost.

I love that is has Bluetooth but I'm very disappointed that it doesn't have the USB port that would allow wired printing straight from a camera. The Ip-100 is the only model which has the original USB port, then on each model upgrade, they took that away. I even ordered the rechargeable battery.

Bought this printer in hopes of a simple way to print borderless and have the ability ţo create a poster. Well not only did that work out but an unexpected surprise arose .... the ink is the cheapest ink I've ever seen in my life. Just gotta look for it with a simple search online.

Compact Wireless Printer on the GO

Canon TR150 form factor is designed for printing on the go featuring compact, wireless and lightweight inkjet printing. This printer is not intended for heavy printing as the cost to print is little expensive compared to regular printing.
What is in the box : Canon TR150, power brick with cable, usb cable, ink cartridges, manual, installation cd.
Its very small measuring 12.7 in x 7.3in x 2.6in and weighs around 4.5 pounds. This is very easy to carry in a laptop bag if required during travel or places where you will need to print on the go. Unlike Epson WF110, this printer does not come with the battery and needs to be purchased separately if you want to print on the go and would cost around $100 extra on top of $199 which puts this printer at the expensive end. Without the optional battery, this printer is not truly portable and you would need a power source if you want to print which sets this printer more expensive.
Setup is easy if you follow the instructional YouTube videos that canon has posted for this product. Suggest to watch for quick setup. It does have a small 1.44 inch OLED control panel where you will find a cool feature to create up to five template like flyers, application forms, consent forms that you can access from the control panel by scrolling down the list and printing it directly without the need of a laptop.
Printer does come with a USB port, locking slot and power port. Printer does support wireless Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/a and supports direct printing from other canon products. It does support Apple Airprint and detects from iOS devices for quick printing.
Compared to regular inkjet printer, this printer is little slower considering the size. Its advertised to print 9ppm for monochrome and 5.5ppm for color but it takes little longer when printed wireless. Also depends on the content of printing. It took longer for photos to print compared to the regular text or word documents.
Recurring ink costs are expensive if you would use this for regular printing and is not economical and this printer does not support duplex printing.
Overall, good mobile printer if you are in the market for compact travel printer that would print good quality pages but the lack of battery doesn’t justify the true mobility.

I love this little printer. It does everything it's supposed to do and does it well.
Setup is a breeze and I love the fact that Canon gives you printed instructions along with an excellently detailed online guide that you can pull up with a quick scan of a QR code, which by the way is printed and also pops up on the printer's display. It even comes with an actual CD if you need it! They truly have all bases covered when it comes to getting this setup.
Canon offers multiple options for connecting to it as well. A usb to usb-c cable is included, but you can also connect to it wirelessly. I tried the wired connection first. My MacBook instantly recognized it and I was able to print out some labels I needed immediately. I even used thick label sheets and it handled it no problem with excellent quality.
I then downloaded the Canon app and setup the wireless function to get it connected to my home network. This was also a breeze and I had no issues at all. Everything just worked right away.
Once you have it connected, the app asks if you want to try it out. So of course I did! It pulled up my photo gallery on my phone, I selected a photo and hit print. I loaded up a 4x6 sheet of photo paper too and the paper feed took it perfectly and to my surprise the picture was borderless!
While you're not going to get professional photo lab quality pictures out of this, the quality is still very good.
Best feature of all though, is the size of this printer. It truly is portable. Perfect for small businesses that need to print on the road, like estimators and inspectors who need to print out reports. Or if you're just someone that likes to travel but needs a printer for work, this won't take up much space at all. Hey, if you can work from home why not work from a beach house?
I honestly don't really have any negatives with this little printer. It may not be the fastest or print out the highest quality pictures, but for what you get, it more than outperforms all expectations, and honestly outperforms other larger printers I've had.

If you are looking for a wireless, compact, lightweight and a portable printer with great print resolution (Up to 4800 x 1220 dpi), then the Canon Pixma TR150 is the printer for you. The Canon TR150 roughly in at about 4.5lb and measures Closed: 12.7" (L) x 7.3" (W) x 2.6" (H) and Paper Installed: 12.7" (L) x 12.1" (W) x 9.7" (H). This is black and a color printer. Now let’s get into some specifics about this product.
-Setup
So, the setup process for this printer is pretty simple if you watch the step by step setup video that is accessible via the QR code on the printer. The printer comes with power cable, USB to USB-C cable, a black and color ink cartridge and the ink cartridge cradle that needs to be installed prior to installing the ink cartridges. Follow the instructions provided on the printer screen and your mobile device and you should have it setup and ready to go in 10 minutes.
-Features
Now the best features of this printer are its wireless connectivity to any mobile device (PC, MAC, Laptop Android or IOS) and portability. You can also purchase a separate battery for the printer in case if you are in a position where you don’t have access to power. The printer has a print speed of 9 PPM on black and 5 PPM on color. The printer has multiple print modes, such as Cloud Print, WIFI-Direct, or via the provided USB to USB-C cable. The printer is also able to accept different types and sizes of paper. I tested out the printer with regular 8x11 and glossy 8x11 photo paper and it performed great. The rear printer tray holds up to 50 sheets of regular paper. The printer also features a small mono display in which you are able to change settings.
-Print Resolution
This printer is able to print up to 4800 x 1200 DPI, and able to take care of any of your printing needs from regular black and white to printing photos. I tested out the printer with regular black and white print and a color photo print and it performed well during both tests.
-My Experience
My experience with this unit was amazing, from the setup process to printing out stuff for business and personal life. I have been able to take the printer with me on the go and print without any issues so I would definitely recommend that is in the market for a portable color printer to check out the Canon TR150.

Sometimes you get more than you expect

In short this little printer exceeded my expectations for printing text and photos. I expected nice sharp text since it uses black pigment ink for that but the photos came out much better than I expected. The TR-150 uses 5 colors. Pigment black, and the rest are dye inks. Cyan, Yellow, Magenta and Black. They call it a Hybrid system. I have a Canon Pixma Pro-10 (all pigment inks) and a Pro-100 (all dye inks) that I put it up against on photos and the TR-150 did amazingly well compared to them. It also did well compared to a Canon Maxify 2320 and Epson ET-3700. Setup was easy with no problems and the apps perform well too. Read on for more details and see photos to compare text and photo output from the above printers.
The printer comes with a power supply brick, ink tanks, printhead and a high quality USB cable. No kidding on the cable. You can feel it. The printer’s build quality feels and looks good too. Better than the low end stuff they make which still isn’t too bad. It feels better than my Epson ET-3700 which costs more. I would say it’s on par with my Pro-10 and 100 printers. There’s also a battery option for the TR-150. That will set you back $100. For those that ask “Why didn’t they include it?” I would say to keep the price down as not everyone who buys this printer would need it. However, it’s not cheap. Canon quotes up to 330 pages with a full charge.
Do keep in mind that it’s a good idea to print something every week. Even a nozzle check is enough. Do this with any inkjet printer to help prevent nozzle clogs which waste ink when the printer has to clear a clogged nozzle.
Setup was easy, which is the norm for Canon products in my 16+ year experience with them, Camera and Printer wise. Just answer the questions as the drivers and software installs and you should be good to go. You can use the printer with USB, WiFi Direct or through a router and network.
Apps and Usability:
The Canon Print app works well from phones and tablets. Canon also provides several programs (apps) for PCs for printing up photos and calendars among other art themed things.
The Mopria print app demands that you turn location on (GPS) on your mobile device for it to work. This could be a privacy issue for some. I don’t see any advantage using Mopria over Canon’s app other than Mopria will work with other brands also.
Five templates can be loaded into it for use without an external device.
You can charge the optional battery via USB.
Use the Mono OLED display to navigate settings and options without having to use a PC or other device. It also shows ink levels at a glance.
It also prints photos when directly connected to a Pictbridge enabled camera
Text, Graphics and Speed:
Text quality has 3 settings. Draft, Standard and Fine. Draft is readable and fastest to print. Standard is much better and likely all you will ever need to use. Fine is excellent in my opinion. Everything is very sharp and colors are saturated and well defined. Even on plain paper. Use coated paper and it will really pop!
Compared to a Canon Maxify printer it’s pretty much the same. Maxify printers use all Pigment inks. PG1200 tanks. PG meaning pigment ink in Canon’s eco system. CL is dye ink. Note that the Maxify line doesn’t do a very good job with photos because it’s not meant to. They are made for printing text and graphics fast. Compared to the Epson ET-3700 the TR-150’s draft text print looks as good as the ET- 3700’s standard text print. Part of the reason for that is the TR-150’s use of pigment black ink. The ET-3700 uses dye inks and dye blacks are not as black as pigment. Speed wise the ET-3700 is faster with 15ppm vs 9ppm for black and 8ppm vs 5.5m for color.
Both the ET-3700 and Maxify also have flatbed scanners and print on both sides of the paper (auto duplexing). The TR-150 lacks these features. The ET-3700 is much much cheaper to operate as you refill tanks with bottles of ink versus swapping ink tanks. But you can’t put either in a briefcase or backpack.
PC Magazine’s TR-150 review estimates the cost per page to be about 7.5 cents per black and white page and 15.1 cents per color page. Not as cheap to operate as a desktop printer.
I didn’t compare text and graphics output to my photo printers. I knew the output would be excellent but very slow to print due to the nature of the photo printer’s design and operation.
Conclusion for this category is Excellent text and graphics but a bit slow and more expensive to print with but that is to be expected considering its size and what its purpose is.
Photo Quality:
The TR-150 really shines at photos better than I expected. I would even say it holds its own up to a point against my Canon Pixma Pro series in a side by side comparison unless you are really looking close at the details. See photos. Color accuracy is a bit of a different story and that is to be expected considering the TR-150 only has 5 colors of ink and 2 of those are black. The Pro-10 uses 9 pigment inks with “chroma optimizer” coating and the Pro-100 uses 8 dye inks. The TR-150’s output is closer to the Pro-100’s output when printing landscapes, flowers and such. The Pro-10 excels at skin tones and has the overall best color accuracy. If you look at the photos I have posted you will see what I mean. I also printed the same photos with the Epson ET-3700. They don’t look too bad until you put them beside the Canon prints.
Technical notes: I used the same Canon glossy photo paper for all the test prints with the same settings in Photoshop CC and let the printers handle the color profile and used Photoshops’s relative colorimetric setting to keep the playing field level with default settings. You can tweak settings and color profiles for better results. All photos were taken by me, using a Canon EOS R and L series lenses including photos of all printer's output.
Conclusion on photo quality is the TR-150 does an outstanding job for photos but it’s not going to replace a dedicated photo printer nor is it meant to. Those types of printers have more colors of ink and are generally cheaper to operate. But for general use and basic photo printing I think it’s better than average considering it doesn’t use “photo cyan” and “photo magenta” inks. For portable / mobile printing of photos that are larger than the little mini photo printers can do, the TR-150 is a good option to consider.
Overall Conclusion: This portable printer scores high in my book for print and photo quality. It’s also easy to use with a PC or mobile device. It’s small and compact and build quality is top notch.

Portability!! that’s what this whole unit is all about! I was able to place the printer and my laptop in my backpack with no problems and carry around a whole office in a backpack! That is awesome! I really love how the paper ramp folds into the paper output lip and has a little magnet that keeps it nice and secure. That really lends to a sleek and portable platform that stays closed and really enhances the portability of the unit. It came with the power chord but to really benefit from the portability I would say you really need to have the battery unit for it. Frankly, I was a little disappointed that it did not come with it as it is key to the true wireless portability that really makes this unit pop! Even so, I love this printer.
The battery kit is roughly a hundred bucks and some may not need it but if you were a sales rep and you worked out of your car or service tech or freelance business person that needed receipts and invoices that you could not email just plan on buying the battery pack as well. I also think college students would really benefit from this printer because it can fit in a dorm drawer or in a backpack for a study group ect. Again super compact and mobile!
The quality of print is about what I would expect from a compact little printer. It is not a photo printer in the strictest sense but I printed a mixed media template with color text, grey shading, black text and a photo and it looked great! (See picture) I would be more than comfortable handing the printed material to a client, professor or colleague. The black text was sharp the color scales were true to the template I used and the photo looked good. The print speed is pretty impressive for its size as well. You could also use it with your phone and take a snap of a document and print it out…boom you have a scanner, copier and printer by using your phone and this little printer on the go that fits perfectly in a backpack!! Canon made set up a breeze as well. Used my laptop cam to scan the QR reader that takes you right to Canon’s web site that walks you through set up and install. Nice and easy!
If you need a photo quality printer probably be better to spend the money on a larger desk top Canon model for pictures. If you need the portability and small form factor this ones a no brainer. Canon is an awesome printer manufacture and this little printer fits perfectly into their lineup!

Looking for a printer with a small footprint? The Canon PIXMA TR150 has you covered. This little guy packs quite a punch for being so compact. The setup for this guy was straightforward though it took quite a few minutes for the alignment process (like 4-5 minutes). After setting up, i printed out some PDFs and photos to find out that this guy really didn't compromise on the printing quality! I am super impressed! Type quality is very good and ink spread is very consistent without any discoloration. For photos, the quality is also quite good as well. Very happy with this Canon and I would highly recommend this item to anyone that is looking for a mobile compact printer!

I have been wanting a portable printer for some time and this Canon Pixma TR150 fits the bill nicely. It fits in my backpack with ease and there is an available battery that has to be purchased separately. I wish they would have included the battery but it is a great feature to have. I have been using Canon printers for years now and have always been pleased with them. The Canon TR150 is no exception it is a high-quality compact printer that I can bring with me and print wirelessly from my Phone or my Laptop in my truck to print out invoices for customers and even full-color diagrams or plans. I find the Canon TR150 has a simple and easy to use interface and includes WIFI and Bluetooth for ease of connection to your devices. I am excited to use this printer and will be ordering the battery as soon as possible. If you are looking for a compact portable printer that can operate by battery power the Canon TR150 is a great choice for anyone who needs a printer on the go!

I had the Canon PIXMA TR150 Wireless Inkjet Printer working within minutes. It connected to my wifi in no time and was easy to understand the instructions. This has to be the best printer I have used. It prints within seconds and its so nice to be able to take it places with me. I love that I am able to take to school and print without having to go into a lab or library. The quality of prints is also amazing, even pictures print out nice. I recommend this printer especially for people working in the field, at school, travel a lot, or if you just want a hassle-free printer. This printer has saved me so much time.

The Canon Pixma150 is possibly the coolest idea that I have seen in some months. A Wireless mobile printer that can allow me to make copies from the comfort my truck, while traveling or making a random sale of goods and the customer wound need a bill of sale on the fly. Sign me up. However, that's where the dream stops. This printer does have the capability to do this, but it requires that u=you spend and additional $100 on a battery pack. C'mon mannn. I have great plans for this printer, as it will help my company streamline and provide my customers and vendors alike, the ability to get the documents they need right away. But back to that battery pack though. I am going to purchase the battery pack, because I see the potential in the product. I also can recommend this to small business owners, looking to reach a more mobile customer base. But if you're going to get this, just please note that you will need to buy that battery pack to become truly mobile.

I've always thought printers were eyesores and refused to have one in my home! I even inconvenienced friends and family when I needed return labels printed, but there was no way I was going to let a rarely used monstrosity disturb my feng shui! Then came my discovery of the Canon Pixma TR150. It's small, mighty and can be stored in a drawer or inconspicuously left on a bookshelf! The colors aren't that bright or vivid, but it gets the job done and is great for printing documents and return labels. I have yet to try and print photos, but I'm still someone who likes to leave that to the professionals. Be sure to try and buy it when it's on sale and under $200.

So I purchased this printer because I wanted something smaller. Sadly, I didn't know it cannot scan paper, only print. If you're constantly traveling and need something that just prints, then I highly recommend this product because it works well and it saves on space. I would not recommend if you ever need to scan paper/pictures, though. You will have to take pictures on your phone, send them to your computer or directly print them off your phone. Besides not being able to print, it is a great printer and I still highly recommend.
