When its time to leave the HP ecosystem ...

I absolutely had it with HP printers after nearly two decades of spotty performance and, more recently, horribly designed apps like HP Smart and Instant Ink. I considered Epson but Canon caught my eye based on positive reviews.
Absolutely love this printer and its ability to still operate efficiently using a USB cable instead of only on Wifi. The print quality is excellent, whether documents or photos. The scanner, whether individual sheets or use of the document feeder, is reliable. The use of multiple ink cartridges was new to me but seems to be well thought out.
It took me a while to figure out the Canon scan utility interface, but once I used it several times, it does meet my objectives. The only nitpik I have is that the user interface on my PC makes it feel like I'm going back to a 1990's DOS system instead of a more modern HTML interface.
The footprint is larger than any other HP printer I've had. But I don't mind it since it performs so well.

I wanted another HP printer with all the indivifual ink tanks, but seems they don't have those anymore. So I got this Canon. Honestly, at the moment I am very pleased with it. Great color (individual ink tanks), easy to set up, prints faster than my old HP. And I got it at a great price.

Worth the 2 yr. wait for it to come back in stock

Good printer for cardmaking and scrapbooking because it can print on heavier cardstock and 12x12 cardstock for scrapbooking using the rear feed. For me, it was worth the 2 year wait for it to come back in stock even at a higher price point. It does have a larger footprint than my previous Canon printer, especially when using the rear feed. In my opinion, the only downside is that it still uses the pricey cartridges instead of tank refills. Other than that, it was not difficult to set up and I am able to print from my PC, phone and iPad mini. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

Good printer and the pictures are great as always. Would have given a 5 star, but a little annoying that you have to confirm the paper size each time you add more, and the back tray for the specialty paper does not collapse easily, gets stuck on the last part and I have to jiggle it a bit. But still love it!

I bought this Model when my other Printer was not doing right. I am also glad that I got the extended warranty. That saved me some money in buying this one. I also took the extended warranty on this one. I would say this is a upgrade from my last one. YES> It prints much better. It will also print 11x17 Prints. I am a semi retired Professional Photographer that I did for 35 years. Back when we did not have Digital. I am very picky with my Pictures. So far. I am impressed what you can do with this Printer. If you are looking for a New Printer. Go with this Canon. In all the years. I have only used Canon Printers.

Quiet, Fast and Versatile

I have had printers from various companies over the years. My last one was also from Canon, the appeal of the separate ink tanks allowing for replacement of those you use most often without wasting ink still remains with this printer. It is quieter and faster than my last Canon (which is still in use) but this adds the versatility of being able to handle 12x12 paper (fed manually) which is extremely helpful for school projects and scrapbooking projects. Thank you Canon
