I did a review of the various DSL modems on-line before buying this one. I have installed DSL modems before, however, found that with my CenturyLink ISP this was the very simplest to install; it was easier than I had imagined at purchase time. While I don't believe a 5 out of 5 should be normally given, this one comes close to that.

I was having problems with my internet service at my house and the powers to be said it was my modem. I went to Best Buy, had great customer service and was given a choice of two products. The Century Link modem with wireless was just what I needed and it was very easy to install and it is working very well for me!

Why would you rent? This gives out a better signal and installation was easy.

It worked so much better than the modem supplied to me (for a $10.00 fee) by Century Link. This one has never said I am not hooked up to the internet, whereas the Century Link modem was always showing I was not hooked up especially when I tried to use my laptop. Always had to move plugs to different port to connect, but since I bought this one, I have not had that issue one time. Would highly recommend this product to anyone, very easy to install. Thank you.

I purchased this unit as I am a Centurylink subscriber. In addition, I took advantage of an offer from Best Buy to add a high speed router - included was a technical support person from Geek Squad to help set up and test doped and signal strength. It was great to have someone with the technical expertise to set up and make sure my wireless environment was good to go.

Installed easily, good basic directions are included. The Centurylink/Actiontec app is pretty darn good. Every little detail and setting are included including parameters for IPv6 (new internet protocol settings). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the range is a little disappointing. I've got it at one end of the house (due to location of wiring & phone) upstairs, and it doesn't reach downstairs to other side of house where kitchen, etc. are. My house is normal wood & drywall construction.

Seems to be working well. We have had pretty good signal. Download and upload speed is consistent. We can stream our videos and brouse the Internet. Only times we have issues is at peak bandwidth use when everyone is bogging down the connection with activity on the side we can't really control. Works with all our devices.

Easy to use and set up. only thing about the set up is your going to need your Century Link id numbers. you'll have to call Century link. that is the slow and difficult part of the set up. other than having to call century link it is a ALMOST plug and play. The router menus are easy to use and set up, there are other options in the menu that can lockout selected IP addresses and schedule WIFI shut down at select times. over all your standard router.

Great product to work with Centurylink. Setup was really easy and the connectivity is also very good.

We bought one and it failed during the addition of a second piece of equipment. We had TV and iPad, both wireless and only one item could be used at a time. Returned for replacement and this modem/ router did what it was supposed to, auto seek and installed our two pieces of equipment . Working good ever since.

Was looking for a good router and one that was also not expensive. Strong signal and easy install

This product is great. It is streamlined and easy to use. The installation was easy, even for me.

I replaced a 4yr old router with this on the advice of Century Link. It was less expensive and delivered quicker than Century Link could do. Set up was simple...easier than I thought it would be. One note of caution; it is not compatible for set-up with Microsoft Edge. Once set-up using a different browser it works with Edge.

It was very easy to set up. Wouldn't been helpful to know that the Passcode is the password for the Wifi and not the Password listed is the password.

Easy to assemble it only took 2 minutes to hook up. Great product and works awesome.

The C1000A gateway/router was very easy to setup and get me online. Similar to other ActionTec products, this unit has features with better security and controls, including a login screen to access the control panel which gives me peace of mind that not just anyone can sneak in and make changes. Additionally, there are a multitude of limiting features/options that make customization more personalized and versatile (parental controls are a breeze). Range is more than adequate and a reliable signal maintains quite well for great Internet streaming. Great unit for 2-3 computers and devices in an apartment. As far as downside: this model lays horizontally, whereas previous models were upright; not a big factor unless desk/shelf space is limited.

This is one of the better centurylink modems. The installation was very easy. No issues with it. 4 stars because there are many better modems though their compatiblity with centurylink is what I was concerned about.

Have had no issues with this modem/router. Product works great. Easy to set up.

Got this to replace an old Qwest Modem. It works great, is fast and was easy to set up.

I was happy to see Best Buy had Century Link wifi routers available. I could go to my neighborhood store and pick it up. It's the same model you'd pay to buy via Century Link, but it saves time and shipping by getting it yourself. I't super easy to install and works great.
