This is the most amazing product from Google I've owned yet. I purchased this initially to upgrade my older Chromecast. Everything about this "Google TV" is 1000x better than what I owned previously. I can now view my content in 4K which the older model could not do, and it has a great interface. It's Android 10 over the Google TV UI, and it's pretty appealing. I can easily ask Google to find something particular to watch and it'll do it. This thing will search movies across different apps to find exactly what you're looking for. What makes it even better is that it still has it's cast function. so you have the option to use the Google TV remote or cast from your Android phone like normal. I was hesitant at first, and I wish I had mad this purchase sooner. You can even control all your google connected with the remote included. For example I use my Google Home to control my AC, but I can also with my remote in hand tell the Google remote to turn the AC on or off, and it does it. Even quick than my home can which is pretty neat. If you were ever indecisive about buying this device then I hope this review helps you. You're gonna love this Google TV. For $50 you can't go wrong.

The Google Chromecast with Google TV 4K: A Streaming Solution with a Connectivity Hiccup The Google Chromecast with Google TV 4K offers a sleek design and a user-friendly interface, making it a great option for streaming your favorite content. However, one significant drawback is its inconsistent Wi-Fi connectivity. Pros: * User-Friendly Interface: The Google TV interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. * 4K HDR Support: Enjoy stunning visuals with support for 4K HDR. * Voice Control: Conveniently control your streaming experience with Google Assistant. * Wide App Support: Access a vast array of streaming apps. Cons: * Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues: Users have reported frequent Wi-Fi drops and slow loading times, which can significantly impact the streaming experience. * Remote Control Range: The remote control's range can be limited, requiring you to be in close proximity to the device. Overall: While the Google Chromecast with Google TV 4K offers a lot of potential, the inconsistent Wi-Fi connectivity can be frustrating. If you have a strong and stable Wi-Fi network, this device can be a great addition to your home entertainment setup. However, if you experience Wi-Fi issues, it may be worth considering other streaming devices.

I bought the google Chromecast (4K) from Best Buy and I am very happy with it. It is a simple and affordable way to stream video and music from my phone or laptop to my TV. It works with many popular apps like Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Spotify, and more. It also supports Google Assistant, so I can use my voice to control the playback and search for content. The setup was easy and fast. I just plugged the Chromecast into an HDMI port on my TV, connected it to my Wi-Fi network, and downloaded the Google Home app on my phone. The app guided me through the steps and I was ready to cast in minutes. The app also lets me customize the settings and manage my devices. The performance of the Chromecast is smooth and reliable. It streams video in 1080p resolution and 4K, It depends on which one you bought. The sound quality is also good, and it supports Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus formats. The remote is handy and intuitive, with buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, YouTube, and TV power and volume. I can also use my phone as a remote with the Google Cast feature. However, If you have a 1080p TV, you should buy the 1080p version. If you have a 4K TV and want to enjoy the best picture quality, you might want to consider the 4K model instead. Overall, I think the Chromecast is a great device for streaming entertainment to your TV. It is easy to use, compatible with many apps and services, and offers good value for money. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to turn their TV into a smart TV without spending too much.

Chromecasts have long been something I've ignored because I don't like the idea of having to use my phone to cast to my TV for everything I watch. However, when Google announced their "Chromecast with Google TV" I was very intrigued at the mix of a streaming device with the ability to Chromecast. So far, I am quite happy with my purchase! SET-UP: - Unboxing and first impressions are always great with Google Products. They have a great way of making the unboxing process simple while providing a product that's uniquely Google. - I really go like the feel and look of the Chromecast and Remote. They are modern yet simple and feel very good in the hand, not too cheap at all. - Set-up was mainly simply but had a few hiccups. Google says you can use the "Google Home" app to do all your setup for you but I have largely found that the Google Home can be the most useful app I have while also being the most frustrating when setting up a new product. - I eventually ditched using the Google Home app and did the setup just via the remote and that was very simple and straight forward. After a little bit to download new firmware updates and download all my apps, I was ready to go! PROS: - I really like the interface! It's smooth, easy to maneuver, and when in doubt just ask Google where something is. - Speaking of which, the Google Assistant button is a fantastic addition. Use it for asking everyday questions or use it to find "movies that won Oscars in the 2000's" really whatever you need it to do! - The device uses your app subscriptions (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Disney+...) to recommend TV and Movies you might want to watch. I really like how it does not push you to watch something you have no interest in or don't even have a subscription too. The whole add-less vibe feels nonintrusive and makes for a more personal experience. - If you have YouTube TV, this Chromecast is a must have! Google TV integrates Live TV right into the menu so you can quickly browse what's on air right now without having to open the YouTube TV app. I really like that because it makes the home menu screen your go to place to find anything you subscribe too. - The "Chromecast" feature of this Google TV device is also very easy to use! It syncs up with your Google Home Devices or phones so that if you are watching a video or streaming Spotify, you can just quickly cast it to your TV with the touch of a button. Or, simply say "Hey Google, play Netflix on my TV" and it can do that too without you even touching the remote. - Watching shows & movies on here is truly a great experience too! The 4K HDR is vibrant and crisp, it has Dolby Vision for movies/TV that it applies to, and Dolby Atmos for superior home theater sound quality. All three of those qualities are an absolute must for the best home theater experience and you are getting them all for only $50. CONS: - The one app that I wish this had is "Apple TV". I know Google/Apple don't usually get along, but I do with the Apple TV app was on here for those who want to stream "Apple TV+" - This isn't a con for me but although you don't need Google services (Like Google Smart Speakers, Android Phone, & YouTube TV) to enjoy this Chromecast, I would imagine that your experience would not be as great as mine without all those devices/services. - I think the "Library" section of the Home page is really lacking on 2 parts. First, if you have a large library of movies you digitally own, they will show in your library but its in one long scrollable line. Rather then a sortable area where you can view 20 movies at a time, its really just a long single line list where you can see 5 at a time. Second, Google TV is trying to push its "Watchlist" feature where from an Android phone you can easily add a Show/Movie to your watchlist and it will appear on your Google TV. But at the time of writing this, the Google TV app is not available on Android phones yet and hasn't even been announced on Apple phones yet. BOTTOM LINE: - If you are looking for a simple, easy to use streaming device but has all the high end specs you would want at a low price, the Chromecast with Google TV is an absolute no brainer. It is simple to use, has a great interface, and has all features you would want from a higher end streaming device (4K HDR, Dolby Vision/Atmos, Voice Commands). I really think Google TV is going to be a great solution for many home's entertainment needs!

Keeps everything well organized and easy to find. Voice control is very accurate and responsive. Picture quality for some reason is better than with apps built into my TV's(a Samsung and a Vizio). Has a broad variety of downloadable apps that aren't available on Samsung. The remote is able to control both the power and volume of the TV and the content and makes selecting a program very easy as the device connected to the TV is very responsive to the remote. Highly recommend!

Easy to connect, comes with batteries, makes ANY TV into a Google TV with Chromecast! Quick set up and you will love the colorful, useful changes it makes to your TV within minutes! I bought a Chromast disk about 10 years ago, this one comes with a remote and makes any old TV look and act NEW, no exaggeration! And the price is such a bargain~ BONUS! A must have!!!

The Chromecasts from what I have seen work much better than the smart TVs that have GoogleTV with them. Very easy to navigate and has all the apps you would ever need available to you. Also, if you ever lose the remote, or it gets chewed up by your furry friend, you can order a new one. To setup a new remote is also very easy.

It was super easy to get it setup, especially if you already have a Gmail account with linked Netflix, Prime, Disney+, etc... It literally only took a few minutes. Chromecast is easy to cast to, Google TV is great too. I also really like the remote, which can control the TV power, volume & mute. Voice commands make it easy also.

This is my 3rd Chromecast w/Google TV. I have it connected to a 55 in C8 OLED and WOW, this thing looks amazing (thanks to Dolby Vision) and looks just as good as an Apple TV 4K that cost 3x as much. If you’re looking for an inexpensive alternative to an Apple TV, this is what to buy. I have it paired with a Google Home Mini and I’m able to control most functions just using my voice which is leaps of ahead of Apple along with Siri. I couldn’t recommend this product enough. It won’t replace my Apple TV 4K in the living room but every other room in the house, including the master bedroom has one of these. If you’re on the fence, don’t even think about it, just get it. You won’t regret it. For $50, this truly is an excellent product. At the time of purchase, I got mine for $39.99 so even more of a reason to buy one but would gladly spend $50 on it without hesitation. My only complaint is the remote feels a bit cheap but that’s because I’m comparing it to that of the Siri Remote but at $50, it’s a small sacrifice I’m willing to make.

So much better than Roku, Firestick or even original Chromecast. The new Chromecast has a built in interface that’s smart, fast and customizable. The remote is perfect - just different enough to be kinda cute. I prefer to use this over the built-in Smart TV stuff on my Vizio and my LG. I love the fact that it recommends where to watch programs based on which services you subscribe to - and the fact that I can add something to my Watchlist by searching for it in a browser and clicking “Add to watchlist.” When I get home, it’s automatically there waiting for me to watch. Perfect companion for any Smart (or dumb) TV!

I've used most options of the differnet streaming devices (roku, shield, firetv, everything expect apple TV), and this is probably my second favorite. The shield is undefeated, but you pay a price for that. For $50, the 4k chrome cast is a much better deal for what you get than others. I really like roku, but if you're running Plex, roku struggles running image based subtitles at 4k HDR, and will always choose to convert to 1080 instead of direct play. The chromecast will direct play everything I throw at it. Support for dolby vision and HDR10 is very nice and seems to work well. The only reason I took a star off is because 1) It is a little slow at times and 2) The remote kind of sucks compared to other devices. If they had an ultra version with better processing, it could be way better than the Roku Ultra, with a more open ecosystem. But the remote not including a mute button and a play/pause button is just very annoying. It's a small, but really big gripe, as I use this on my office TV and need to pause/mute quite a bit. If you have a CEC capable TV, that may work to not have to use the CC remote, but it doesn't seem to work with the TV I have.

Easily the best 50 bucks I've spent! All apps consolidated into one. You can open apps individually or search everything with voice. Controls tv volume and power!!!!! 1 remote for everything. And it looks sleek and elegant, as to be expected. ***Note: plug in directly to wall outlet; if plugged in to tv usb it will have to reboot each time, AND the tv power button won't work.

Best smart stick I own. Tried Amazon, then two different Roku sticks, both of which are good, but for me Chromecast allows me to download German TV networks like ARD app so can view live and recorded television programming if I change VPN over to Germany. Other sticks do not have the apps I require. Running great thus far.

I really like the new Chromecast with the remote. I have had every version of the Google Chromecast. I’ve like it because it is very easy to travel with. I also like the fact that I can cast from a desktop or laptop. I didn’t like that it never came with a remote, and I always had to use my cellphone’s apps to use the Chromecast. I think this new model is perfect. It is very easy to set up with the Google home app. The remote has two quick buttons with my two favorite streaming services, YouTube and Netflix.

This latest Chromecast with Google TV is simple to setup;plug the HDMI to your TV and the power cord into an outlet then follow screen directions. It provides the same type of GUI as most Smart TVs built-in and downloadable apps. It's interface speed is as fast as other Smart TVs I've used it on an old 1080P Panasonic w/o Wifi to effectively turn it into a Smart TV, Works great! And as an add-on to a Visio Smart TV to get apps Visio doesn't include and that I could not Cast (and yes you can Cast to it). The controller is light in weight and small to control easily with one hand. Unplug the device to reset if needed and it starts right back up without the need to reconfigure. App updates are downloadable as needed. The Google Assistant button is handy. If you have an HDMI port on your non WiFi TV, buy it! BTW, you can use a Chromecast to cast your Smartphone to any projector with an HDMI port. Great for lecturers. I have two of them. 9h
