I was looking for a great sound system without all of the wires and hassles of setup. The bose cinemate 130 is the way to go. Setup was extremely easy. All of the peripherals I own go directly into the cinemate. The cinemate sends the signal directly into the TV via hdmi. So there's only one cord that goes into the back of the TV! The sub that comes with the cinemate is connected via my wifi signal. So, I can place it anywhere I want and not have to worry about a cord coming out of the cinemate. The sound is unreal! You've got to check this thing out.

Bose has outdone themselves with this unit. I was skeptical at first that it wouldn't perform well in my home - but after going through the easy Bose calibration once I set it up in my home...WOW! The sound is amazing! I can actually feel the bass. I loved this unit so much that I recommended one to my relatives and they purchased one too and love it just as much as me.

I purchased the Cinemate 130 system for our den/family room. We had a new entertainment center / cabinet built and I wanted something that would provide a quality sound without taking away from the beauty of the cabinet. In other words, I wanted it to be "heard" and not "seen."
After listening to both the Cinemate 120 and 130, I opted for the 130. Setup was extremely easy and I had everything connected in under 30 minutes.
Upon powering up, I was blown away by the sound. I cannot wait to watch the 2015 Masters in April as well as other shows. I played a movie on the Blue Ray player and it, too, was fantastic in terms of sound quality and range of sound.
The one thing I have not tried is playing songs from iTunes, etc. that are burned onto a CD. But, if that quality of sound is like the other media, I'm sure I will be pleasantly surprised there, too.
Pros: Ease of setup, Bose quality, Bose sound.
Cons: None.

I purchased this to replace a tired, old 12+ year old Sony 5.1 surround sound system. It is solidly built, the sound is great, and it just looks sleek and mean. The AdaptIQ feature is a breeze to set up and improves the overall simulated surround quality based on your room acoustics. I spent some time on this and got it to a level where I can't really tell the surround sound is only simulated... the technology baked into this unit really does make you believe you have rear channel speakers.
I find that this system does not really come into its own until you start to actually get the volume up to at least 1/3 of max - that is where the "thump" of the subwoofer and the clearness of the audio will really start to become apparent. The center channel (i.e. usually voice) is crisp and can be heard distinctly from all the other sounds. This was my main problem with my old system - I'd have to crank up the volume to hear characters talking softly then all of a sudden - BOOM! when an action scene came on and I'd have to drop the volume again. I would be adjusting volume 20x per show or movie I was watching, but that is no longer necessary.
This system has reduced the number of cables running around the perimeter of my room since the audio primarily comes from just the sound bar unit, and the subwoofer is wireless.
One caveat: If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC port and you plan to use other HDMI devices (BluRay Player, Cable/Fiber Box, Game console, etc.), you will loose a lot of the available functionality particularly where controlling other HDMI devices from the Bose remote is involved. You will also need to buy an optical audio cable which is not included (that'll cost you another $10-$15, but if you are splurging on this sound bar system , then it's probably no big deal anyway)
If you like nice things and can swing the $1500, this is an awesome sound bar. I recommend it highly.

I have to admit that the Bose name was the initial draw here and the Polk system I replaced was really nice but the Bose sound bar and wireless Acoustimass® module/sub-woofer has really been a refreshing experience. I had read some reviews about the sub-woofer not pounding out the bass but I don't get that at all, in my opinion, the sound it puts out doesn't overwhelm the system with bass. I love it!

This system has a very good sound but expensive, the Bass is good, system very easy to set up and compact after shopping sound bars for a few months, this is the only one that stood out.

This system is so crisp and clear, even at the highest volumes. The wireless subwoofer adds for great room customization. It is amazing how the "surround style" sound is captured through their software, you sit in different areas of the room you have the system in, then it does its tests, the outcome is amazing. The price is a little steep, but you know what you are getting as far as sound and quality.

i got this to replace my bose 5.1 surrond sound. bose does it again.one single soundbar, a wireless bass module. when watching bluray the sound is really impressive. its like your develope in sound all around you, is it as good as a wire system? my ears are saying better, center channel is so clear, not like that with 5.1 internet radio is great. you cant go wrong with this system.

Setup was easy. Sound quality was excellent, as expected from Bose speakers. Wireless subwoofer seems powerful enough for a medium size (18 x 20 room) and not as big as the Acoustimass 10 module. The 4 HDMI ports on the center console was adequate for my use. HDMI-CEC compliant device automatically recognized my TV, Blu-Ray player. Couple of reason why I gave this product a 4-star. Bose remote is large and not well designed. Lacked of Bluetooth, NFC and internet connectivity. Sure you can spend extra to add these additional (except NFC) components - that means additional wires and connections. Systems at one-third the price offer these as standard options.

I will admit that the unit is a little costly but it's from Bose and somewhat expected. If you think it sounds good in the store, and it does, wait until you get it home. It has amazing sound and the surround sound is quite captivating. I loved it so much that I bought one for my daughter and son in law for Christmas and they love it too.

Great and Probably BEST Sound Bar for Home Use

I researched and listened to several sound bars. The Bose was by far the best. Was simple to install. Works best with an optic cable, so make sure you have one. Bose definitely has their sound manipulated perfectly. Watching football games is a lot more exciting. You can hear the crowd behind you (although there aren't any speakers behind you). You can hear the quarterback shouting his commands and the clunking of the players hitting each other. The subwoofer adds to the realism with the floor rumbling with different movies that have cannons going off. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was a whole lot different movie to watch with the HiFi that was coming out of the Bose System.

The guy was very helpful at the west side location. The Bose took no time to hook up (not real tech savvy). I have a blu Ray, direct tv, and my tv connected and it only took 15 minutes or so. We have had it for a month and works great and sounds great! I would buy it all over again.

We have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the surround sound of this product. It's a great alternative to having to wire and place speakers around the room like we have done in the past, I don't see much difference in comparison and have been very happy with the performance of this system.

Had the system for two weeks and I love it. Sounds great even at low volumes. Connectivity and set up was easy, especially how all devices are connected by HDMI to the control console then only 1 HDMI out to the TV.

This sound bar is amazing. I was going back and forth between the sonos and bose. I have to say that I picked the real winner. The sound is crystal clear and surrounds your room with just one bar. I got the audioquest vodka hdmi cord to go with it and it makes it ten times better. Trust me there is no better sound bar on the market today.
