I put this on my desk at work and love it. It is designed to offer health benefits of bright light therapy but also does a great job as desk lamp. Makes items on my desk appear crystal clear. The stylish design looks like a miniature sculpture.
I've used it for 3 days - all day every day. Then I saw a suggestion that it should be used in the morning, only for 30-60 minutes. I'll have to say I was a little disappointed so will continue to research this topic. I'd like to use it all day!
The light has 3 settings that I jokingly refer to as "blind, blinder, and blindest" as the brightest setting is enough to light up an entire room. I prefer the medium setting and can use it without any concerns.
I haven't owned this long enough to attest to the potential health benefits but love it for its modern design and bright light.
It's certainly worth a try if you're interested in light therapy, or simply looking for a cool desk lamp!

Stylish & compact light

I often work early in the morning and late at night. I have found that bright light like this lamp provides really helps my alertness and energy level.
Pros
- Stylish design looks great on my desk.
- Surprisingly bright light that makes my office seem like mid-afternoon no matter what time of day.
- UV filter
- 3 brightness settings (with no flicker when dimmed)
- Compact form factor
Things to Consider
- I found it awkward to use as suggested in the instructions (5-18" from your face). Placing it that close created glare on my glasses. 24" worked better for me, but I am not sure if this impacted the effectiveness.
- The power cord exists connects to the lamp a few inches up from the bottom on the back. This is not a big issue, but it is not pictured in the manufacturer's photos and was disappointing. My desk is centered in my office - meaning that guest have a clear view of the back of the lamp and the cord sticking out detracts from the overall aesthetic.

Refreshing and powerful circadian lamp.

The Lattis Light Therapy Lamp from Circadian Optics is the perfect addition to my office. It is the perfect size for the top of my bookshelf and it provides a stimulating amount of bright light. At first I was a little wary of the actual benefit of this lamp. However, after several weeks of use I can truly state that my mood has improved and I am more alert in the mornings.
The lamp is decorative and looks good on my bookshelf. There are three power settings from high to low via a touch sensitive switch on the back top of the lamp. Do NOT look at the lamp when you power it on. It packs an amazing amount of light! The included booklet provides great suggestions for the best use of this lamp.
I highly recommend this wonderful circadian lamp for anyone who needs a bright source of refreshing light in their home.

Perfect accent piece, not therapy

I love this lamp! It is called a therapy lamp for some reason, but I think it's moreso just an accent piece. I didn't find any therapy per say, but when you're locked up in an office most of the day, with not much sunlight view, this is a solid substitute.
It has three different settings that activate by touch -- high, medium, and low. I tend to keep it on the lower setting though; the higher one hurts my eyes even why not looking directly at it.
Definitely more for decor and light accent in office settings rather than "therapy".

Set up at office desk, looks nice. Has 3 brightness settings. All are pretty bright. I feel more consistent time with the item is needed to feel the effects as the 5 day testing period isn't a good enough judgment of its abilities. Overall, I feel like it is a helpful tool to help boost energy/keep energy during the day.

The lamp is quite bright which helps brighten up my small living area and it actually helps wake me up before I have my coffee , which is a great addition to my morning . To soon to tell if it’s changed my sleep pattern. But overall I’m currently satisfied with the sun lamp . Will give another update after longer use .

I saw this lamp available, thought the design was really cute and decided to give it a try. I work from home now, don’t get outside as much as I should and the lighting in my office isn’t the best. So I hoped that this would be an uplifting addition to my home office.
The body of the lamp is small and lightweight. I would have liked to have seen a more weighted base as it seems like it might tip over easy. The cord is a good length if you plan to use it fairly close to the outlet but I would have also liked to see a longer cord. The design is very simple and user friendly, no need for an instruction manual, just press the touch sensitive button on the back to activate it. The ”Lattis light lamp” has three brightness settings with the lowest setting having a good level of variation from the highest. The brightest setting is very bright and you should not look directly at it. At the lower settings you see the individual LED’s, which to me, is unappealing.
The color and/or hue of a LED light really makes all the difference, and for me, I don’t know how true to natural sunlight this is. It seems a little more on the pale white side than I would expect. I feel like the color is somewhat like the fluorescent lighting, used in office buildings, but that’s just my opinion. I would have chosen a slightly warmer hue, nothing orange but just a little less “hospital lighting”.
I can’t say that my morning mood has changed being that it’s not winter right now but I will mention that having the light on in my office does awaken my eyes more than the regular overhead lighting. I’ve been using it for the first two hours of each morning and overall I think I have been more productive and less groggy. I’m not somebody who drinks caffeine so I think this might be like a cup of coffee in the morning for me.. lol. I love that the Circadian light has a very artistic look to it which makes it great for blending in with other home decor, so even if you buy one for the design it’ll look awesome.
Overall I like the lamp. Good price for a mood enhancing light and works great for home offices or other small spaces. If you work from home and have a dark office I’d highly recommend picking one of these up.

Great Looking Light Therapy Lamp

I remember seeing this on Shark Tank & thought: Finally, somebody designed an aesthetically pleasing light therapy box! I’ve been using this lamp daily now for 2 weeks & have had good results so far. I suppose it could be the placebo effect, but I do feel more alert in the morning & also seem to have more energy during the dreaded 2-3pm afternoon slump. Unfortunately, the light that streams through my office windows creates too much glare on my computer monitors; so, I have to keep the blinds partially closed. But thankfully, I can position this lamp to gain the full therapy effect without the glare.
Here are my favorite features:
-Design: This Lattis model can tastefully blend into home or office décor. Its small, lightweight form factor easily fits on a desk or side table. It includes a generous 7-ft. cord which gives lots of flexibility in placement.
-Light: The 10,000 lux LED lamp gives off a consistent super-bright white light without emitting UV rays. It has 3 brightness levels, but I just keep it on the highest setting for about an hour.
-Simple Settings: The on/off/brightness controls are in an all-in-one touch button on the back of the lamp.
In an ideal world, I’d just wake up & spend a little time outdoors to experience some natural sunlight. But in the real world, many of us wake up, jump in the shower & head off to an artificially-lit environment. Also, the dark winter months lessen the chance of getting adequate sunlight. If you’re in either of these groups, then I’d recommend this affordable little lamp which might well boost your energy & improve your mood.
I hope Circadian Optics expands their product line by adding options for evening wind-down time. Maybe they could add a feature that changes the brightness & color to amber/red tones that ease you into bedtime.

It's smaller than I expected, but has a very nice modern feel to it. I set it up by my seat on the couch and sat next to it for the past few days. On the plus side, my mood has improved and I felt more energetic. On the negative side, having a bright light to the side of me is sort of annoying. Despite the annoyance, though, I plan to continue using it. Being in a good mood throughout the day more than balances that annoyance out.

Impressive Form And Function

After having had this lamp for about two weeks, I am quite impressed by its form and function. I am using it for a couple of hours every day to brighten up my day in a room that does not get a lot of sunlight. The beneficial effect is especially noticeable early in the morning or when it is cloudy. I am looking forward to using this lamp during the winter months when natural sunshine is in short supply due to the shorter days. If I lived in a part of the world that had long winters and short days, I would certainly want a few of these lamps.
The Lattis design is very attractive and will look nice anywhere you need light. It has 3 different brightness settings, with the brightest being ultra bright. My significant other likes the brightness so much that she uses it to apply her makeup in the morning.
The actual mood enhancing effect will vary from person to person, but for me this lamp works. Not only does this lamp look great, but it gets so bright that it would be useful for multiple applications such as video conferencing or grooming.
An additional benefit of this lamp is that it creates simulated sunlight without actually being exposed to the sun. This could be beneficial to people who have been medically advised to stay out of the sun.

Attractive design, looks good, works well. I do like it but it's a bit too bright for desktop use for me. It has 3 brightness settings but even at the lowest setting it irritates my eyes when on my desk. I have light colored eyes which supposedly makes them more sensitive to light. It's a little blinding for me on my desktop (I guess you could wear shades but that kind of defeats the purpose).
Still useful as a table lamp, will light the entire room well. Wish it included options to hang it but you're kind of on your own for that. Also would be nice if it was rechargeable but it requires the corded ac adapter to use.
Not ideal for me on my desktop but still useful for a multipurpose lamp especially where bright light is needed.

Light therapy lamp

The purpose of this lamp is not just to provide light, but it is supposed to provide light therapy. The information on the Circadian Optics website does not claim to have an impact on SAD (seasonal affective disorder), depression, or sleeping disorders, but this lamp may help you anyway. In the user’s guide it mentions to start off using the lamp for 10 minutes, then to progress on to up to an hour. It is only to be used in the morning. It is not a lamp to provide light any time of the day, as that may negatively impact your sleep patterns. The user manual also says the light is produced by LEDs and there are no dangerous UV rays.
To operate this lamp there is a small flush power button on the back of the lamp which you simply tap. To me, it turns on backwards, the brightest light is the first light, then a middle setting, then the lowest setting is last, which is still pretty bright. Too turn it off just tap it one more time. I would prefer that the first tap be the lowest setting. The cord is separate, but you just plug it into the back of the lamp. I have set up my lamp on my kitchen counter so I can see it when sitting at my kitchen table, but that is 4 feet away, and the manual says to position the lamp 5” - 18” from you, which would be super close. I don’t think my eyeballs could handle it being that close! The lowest setting of light is really bright. I also wish this lamp had a way to position the light, it is fixed in the upright position, shining straight out.
The dimensions I have for this lamp are as follows: 12.75" high, 4.5" wide, 1.5" thick, the base is 2" x 5", a bit bigger than the lamp's size. The lamp is nicely made and has a nice matte black finish. It has an arts and crafts look to it, but should blend in with most decor.
I haven’t noticed any changes in my sleep, but this is not really the right time of year to be trying this out. I would think that going into winter would be a better time, since then it’s dark and cold in the morning, as opposed to now, summertime, when it’s very sunny and warm in the morning, at least where I live. The manual says you could feel the benefits of this light in as soon as 3-5 days. If you or someone you love has issues with mood or sleep, it’s a relatively inexpensive way to try to help. The lamp comes in an attractive box which would make a nice gift.

Circadian Optic: Not A Mirage

PROS:
The OPTIC has been a god send, a satisfying solution that has done more than consolidated and deepened my sleep cycle.
Following consistent morning use of the lamp, sleep has been uninterrupted all week when previously I would awaken at 3 or 4am, more times than not.
Though I have been working on sleep issues for over 40 years and incremental improvements have been made with the addition of homeopathics, botanicals, and other selfcare rituals, the CIRCADIAN OPTIC has afforded a quantum leap in solidifying my sleep.
Having the lamp nearby on awakening is especially useful for establishing continuity in exposure to a morning light source.
In the past, shades installed for privacy and for darkening the bedroom for sleep usually undermine my ability to get the intense light needed on awakening to stabilize my circadian cycle without having to inconveniently stand at a window.
With the OPTIC, I can get the light exposure while attending to other selfcare rituals and organizational details without having to break my flow to get to a window.
Moreover, I can get bright daylight exposure even on the darkest cloudy and/or rainy days.
Since I rarely get out for a jog or commune with nature until sunset, I always bemoan having missed the most therapeutic light of the morning sun.
For my peculiar dowsed needs, the OPTIC has brought easy access to a high intensity light at the correct time of day.
I now have a sense of accomplishment about supporting my sleep pattern, one of the most important intentions as I strive for optimal balance.
While attempting a daily calibration to keep my vision close to 20/20, an unexpected benefit occurred.
On my first 45-minute exposure to the OPTIC light at the highest setting, I looked up at my eye chart to check my vision to find that I could see the smallest font on the last line of the chart.
That moment reminded me that scholarly research indicates that day light exposure to the cones and rods of the visual system can improve focus.
A less awe-inspiring side note is that the lightweight unit is super easy to unbox.
As well, the manual is graphically pleasing, easy to read with a nice hand.
Not least, comforting that the warranty is a solid two years.
CONS:
I have an ongoing internal debate about the light switch.
On the one hand, I like the low, medium, high options of light intensity.
The switch is novel, touch sensitive and flush with the surface of the unit.
By contrast, the switch’s position at the top of the unit means the light gets unintentionally turned on and off during relocation. Maybe the switch should be on or near the base since ‘most’ users may pick it up from the top, something a survey or focus group could determine.
Or maybe the switch should be one that requires a rocker style solution.
Also, another tiny design issue is the orientation of the adapter. The plug covers two outlets on my surge protector. I appreciate appliances with large adapters that are oriented perpendicular to the surge protector strip. What might seem a minor issue is indeed a real one for those of us who suffer a dearth of electrical outlets.
For the product’s next iteration, a more thoughtful design might be to adjust the adapter’s orientation to prevent the consumer from losing access to an outlet, a precious commodity in an old house not wired for our multitude of electronics.
Since the source of sleep issues can be poly systemic, the guide could note that adding the “OPTIC Ritual” to your day is just one potential that may or may not fully restore balance to an abused circadian cycle.
Everyone is different so best not to put all expectations in one basket. But, if a small improvement is noticed, smart to build on the progress by exploring other potentials for sleep hormone disruption such as environmental toxins, lectins against blood type, PTSD, etc.
As well, resources might be added to help the consumer explore other complements to the OPTIC for circadian cycle restoration.
Additionally, the guide could elaborate on the benefit of light stimulation to the visual system.
SUMMARY
Overall, the unit is a homerun for those of us who are struggling to reclaim dependable sleep hygiene while living within architecture and work styles not designed to afford the sunlight that our bodies require.
The unit brings light that is sustainable and regenerative.
Any of us with solar panels to drive the CIRCADIAN OPTIC really have the entire kit’n kaboodle.

This Circadian lamp is nice looking - clean lines - very aesthetic. I like that it is extremely easy to use with the control button at the top of the lamp. A slight touch will turn the light on, and change intensities.
At first, the light was a little bothersome since it is supposed to be very close to you (5-18") and off to the side of your face. I did get used to it, however.
I really haven't noticed any change in my energy levels, but it is summer, so I'm guessing any therapeutic benefits will be more evident in the winter months.
Overall, this lamp is good quality, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing.

Circadian Optics-Lattis Edition
I have used light therapy for my SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) for years. It’s most evident in the winter months here in the Midwest for me. The short mostly cloudy days drive me into depression, tiredness, and just plain sad. Trips to a warm sunny land and summer here, I have no issues. The original light I first used were florescent bulbs in a large metal box (light box) that was pretty big on my desk. It worked and it was bright. Then I got a small compact florescent unit that was much smaller and still helped but was not as bright.
This new unit is so compact and yet it puts out 10,000 Lux! It also has 3 brightness settings which are helpful if I am sitting really close to it and need to reduce the light or glare. I like the modern and contemporary styling that really looks nice. The power cord plugs into the back using a plug in transformer at the wall. I like the touch sensitive power button. Multiple “touches” toggles the light between off and the 3 brightness settings. It is not obtrusive or out of place on a home or office desk. I use it about 20-60 minutes per day in the mornings. The light is bright and makes doing paperwork easier. If the glare is too great, I just move it back some or reduce the brightness setting one step lower. The light therapy will after several days of use give me more energy and I will feel sharper mentally. In addition, if you are having sleep problems…using the light in the mornings helps reset your internal “clock” so at night you will be able to sleep easier. This is particularly evident in the winter months where you might have many short cloudy days with no sun. I have used this particular light for at least 2 weeks and really enjoy the size, looks, and ease of use as well as effective light therapy.
In short, I would highly recommend this light for SAD. It’s so compact, bright, and looks great. The price is very reasonable especially compared to what I spent on my first “light box” which was a couple of hundred dollars. I would definitely recommend this to a friend or a family member.

The Circadian Optics - Lattis Light Therapy Lamp - Black has only been used for a short period of time by me. Upon the very first use of the Circadian Optics - Lattis Light Therapy Lamp - Black, I noticed a stimulation of my brain activity. I felt somewhat more alert and charged up. The sluggishness that usually appears when I wake up and stays with me until I fully wake up was eliminated in a minute or so. I always used the brightest setting to get the maximum effect of the Circadian Optics - Lattis Light Therapy Lamp - Black. At first I had to squint my eyes and increase the distance away from me, but daily use built up a tolerance for my eyes to look at the Circadian Optics - Lattis Light Therapy Lamp - Black at an angle between 12 and 18 inches from my eyes without a problem. I noticed my body being reconfigured to bring about a more conventional sleep schedule. At late night, I get sleepy sooner than previously whereby I stayed up past late night. I have no negative statement about the Circadian Optics - Lattis Light Therapy Lamp - Black.

This is my first therapy lamp, that I largely picked up on a whim. While it may be difficult to properly review a glorified lightbulb, I’ll give it a shot.
Out of the box, this was a very easy setup, no different from a lamp. You have the structure, with attached power cord, and light already installed. You simply plug in and you’re ready to go.
The light has three different settings of brightness, what I’d refer to as bright, very bright, and the sun, all of which are controlled from a button on the back that rotates between the three levels and OFF. Off the top of my head, these are settings are all much brighter than any light that I can recall using in my past. Due to that, I largely face the lamp away from facing me directly.
The effects of the lamp will be based upon your experiences and internalized feelings. The point of the lamp is to act as mood therapy and provides light that mimics the sun/being outside. This would be a great addition to those in a basement, windowless office, or stuck working from home in a dark room. I work from home at my leisure and when I do, I’ve noticed preferring that I turn my lamp on. I’ve found myself more alert and energetic while it’s on and while that’s a scientific effect or a placebo, either way, it’s a positive result and I appreciate the assistance.
This is easy to use with no real cons that I can think of besides the fact that it gets warm over time, but all lights do so I won’t hold them against them. Either way, this is a great accent to those in a proverbial or literal dark place that may turn things around for you and I definitely recommend it.

I have a basement office with no natural light anywhere and one measly overhead bulb to fill the room. It’s quite dark in the edges of the room. I have not, fortunately, had any issues with seasonal depression but I thought it would be interesting to try this circadian lamp in my office to see if there’s any benefit. After using it for about a half an hour for a couple mornings in a row, I do indeed find that I have a bit more energetic between the hours of 8 to noon. As such, I’ve been more productive, too. Is this purely a product of my own creation? I don’t know. I’ll leave that to science, but it’s an inexpensive buy in to give a shot to see if it has any benefits for you.
As a lamp, I like the design quite a bit but it is smaller than I anticipated, even after seeing the marketing photos. It’s about the size of a medium sized desk lamp, but narrow. The bulb however is insanely bright. There are three levels of brightness and none of them are the type of light that you are going to want to leave on for hours. And you’re not supposed to anyway! That’s not how it works (read the instructions). When the bulb is off it looks like a neat little piece of desk art. I like it.
