The remastered 4K 40th Anniversary is the best edition I’ve ever seen, and I own all editions, as CEOTTK is one of my favorite movies of all time. They really put a lot of work in remastering this movie! Not only with the video, but with the audio as well! It’s like seeing it for the first time all over again. I highly recommend this to everyone!

I've never gotten tired of this character piece by Steven Spielberg and find it amazing what he was able to pull off in his storytelling with only practical effects and an odd control over our imaginations. This one just makes me want a bigger tv and sound system, every time.

This is a super nice collection of 3rd Kind films....the new 4k version looks amazing and the sound is top notch. If you have never seen this classic then this is the version to get. If you don't own this in hd then get this. So much fun and exhilarating to experience.

Old classic science fiction movie. Never get tired of watching it. First alien movie where we send scientist to communicate with the aliens instead of sending an army to kill them.

If you're a cinemaphile + Audiophile you will love this 4k set of Close Encounters. I watch this film on a 165" screen with 7.1 surround Dolby Atmosphere to include the Buttkicker Transducer system. I haven't seen this film since 1989. It was a fantastic surprise hearing it was being released and found it still relevant today!

Theatrical cut, plus the Special Edition and final Dirctor's Cut versions are included on disc 1. Video has a bump up in quality from the first Blu-ray release, but there has been some digital tinkering with some of the effects shots, so this strictly speaking isn't a presentation as originally shown in theaters. Audio track is actually worse than the previous edition--still good, but not as high quality as before. There are a couple of new featurettes in this 40th anniversary release. If you don't own the first one, pick this up cheap.

Once I bought my 142” projector screen with the Epson projector I knew I had to have this fantastic classic and sure enough it looked and sounded spectacular on Dolby Atmos. Made for a blast on family movie night.

Yes, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS is a great film in whatever version you choose to watch. And this disc has all three! The original theatrical release, the "special edition" and the final director's cut. It is easily one of Steven Spielberg's best movies and a personal favorite. The disc looks great and the extras are quite good.

One of the truly iconic films of the late seventies, Close Encounters of the Third Kind has always been a favorite film of mine. I recently purchased this Blu-ray copy to upgrade from my previous DVD copy. The 1080p video transfer is fantastic! Incredible audio and video. No regret in making this upgrade.

Fantastic 4K transfer of a classic Spielberg film. Colors are sharp, especially all the spaceship lights and the upgraded sound makes the infamous John Williams soundtrack practically sound like a live orchestra in your room.

The 4K version is better than any other version I've seen before. The colors and sounds are vivid and hyper-realistic.

Look, everyone knows what Close encounters of the Third Kind is,...A great movie that you can watch over and over again. This just happens to be a added addition to my collection. The plus is the 4K format, whenever I get into 4K, this will be the movie to watch. It was worth the money spent

This 4K box of Close Encounters of the Third is a true gift to movie fans! Featuring all three versions of the film remastered in 4K! Resulting in a true and crisp presentation to a true and remarkable Steven Spielberg classic.

While purchasing my new 4k tv, I saw this movie sitting next to the display model of my tv. I decided to buy it so i could have a 4k movie to watch on my new tv. I had never seen this movie before, but it was a pretty decent movie for the year it came out! And it looked amazing on my new tv.

I bought Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Young Frankenstein and Monty Python and the Holy Grail for $20 combined. On top of that, I used a $5 Rewards certificate. Three great movies for $15. You really can't beat that. No digital copies are included with any of the blu-rays, but still a great value.

What sells me on physical media is the bonus features. This has three cuts of the film with an optional mode that will highlight differences between them as you watch. It also has sone great interviews among other things.

Superb casting in this brilliant science fiction movie that every collector should own. Richard Drefuss owns the movie as a dad who experiences a first encounter that brings his family to ruin as he frantically searches for its meaning, So many subtle touches! Watch it!

One of my favorite movies. Although it is in blu-ray, I'm not sure the actual resolution of the movie is the same high quality....maybe it wasn't shot in a higher resolution. Still a great movie.

The packaging and presentation on this set is really something else. Add to that the fact that this set features an amazing 4K transfer of the film and a collectible book and it becomes a no brainer to get this lovely gift set and place it in a prominent place on your movie shelf.

This is a nice 40th anniversary edition. Three versions of this classic movie is very nice to have I only wish there was one more disc to spread out the different versions. Some say being on one disc takes away from the picture quality. It's a must own for any movie lover.
