Do some research into this game before buying. I enjoyed the 3DS version so I knew what I was getting into.
I bought this mainly for the better framerate and improved visuals. The lack of English voices is sad though because they were great in the 3DS version (only Japanese with subtitles on Switch).

If you ever had the chance to play Guardian Heroes on the Saturn or xbox one and enjoyed it then you will definitely want to try this game out. It's a 2d side scroller action beat'em up rpg style game, plenty of characters to unlock, just like Guardian Heroes, and there is co-op for local and online play. This game is worth a look at and I'm enjoying this game to no end.

This game first released on 3DS, and though I never picked it up then, I remember really wanting it. Always have been a big fan of action rpgs, so I was eager to pick up when it got this touched up port for Switch...and it's fantastic. The game has aged pretty well, and looks great. Highly recommend, especially for fans of Nicalis.

I never got a chance to play Code Of Princess on the 3DS and finding a copy of it. Well let’s just say that price was steep. Luckily enough they decided to release it in the switch and I couldn’t be happier. I am having a blast with this RPG mix of Beat’em Up game style and it works!

Code of Princess is fun and engaging side scrolling beat em up and a competent spiritual successor to the Sega Saturn classic Guardian Heroes. Code of Princess EX only improves on this in every way with some tweeks to the formula that improve on gameplay and beautiful HD graphics. It's well worth picking up.

This is a fun little Beat em Up game. Basically every character in the game can be unlocked as a playable fighter. Fun to just turn your brain off and play. Doesn't get as repetitive as other games thanks to different move sets and combos.

I bought 2 copies on the 3ds (one for a friend.) So when this was released for the switch I made sure I bought it the day it came out. This version has no English setting like its 3ds counter part however. I would buy a second copy, but this time around i had my friend buy his own copy of the game.

This is a remaster of the 3DS game with the same name. The game is fun, albeit a little repetitive. My only issue is they took out the English voiceovers, so the voices are only in Japanese. It's still worth playing.

Remastered in the Switch from the 3DS. Looks and plays great with the few flaws fixed on the Switch. Perfect on the go with missions around a minute or two. Plenty characters to level and a fun story mode.

Already have the original for the 3DS, what's the use for this one? Well I really like the original, and this is slight updated. Just like the original this is a classic old school beat them up.

code of princess is a side scrolling jrpg button mashing action adventure game. This is pretty much a direct port from the 3ds version with minor tweaks. Still a good game to have and play.

A Fun Couch Co-Op Game

I am always looking for fun couch co-op games, and this one fits the bill. A hack and slash brawler that doesn't take itself too seriously. Compared to the original, couch co-op and better graphics and framerate (60 vs 30fps) are the selling points.

Guardian Heroes revived! Sort of...

"Code Of Princess" was originally released for the 3DS in 2012, and is a modern take on the classic 2D side-scroller beat-em-up from the old arcade days. This Switch "EX" version comes with a few quality of life changes, such as couch co-op and additional playable characters.
The gameplay is quite similar to other 2D side-scroller beat-em-ups...except instead of full 8-way movement, there are 3 plains that you hop between to face enemies (think Fatal Fury or of course, Guardian Heroes). The stages play out in a sectionalized fashion, with each mission only being a 3-7 minutes long before going back to the selection screen. Story-wise, "Code Of Princess" is nothing exceptional: Solange, a scantily-clad princess with a giant sword, sets out to save her kingdom with a rag-tag band of friends. You know the drill here.
The main campaign isn't terribly long–easily beatable in a few hours, but the real fun comes in trying out the bevy of available characters. Indeed, there are about 50 characters to choose between in Free-Play and Bonus mode (Campaign mode only lets you use the core cast of 8 characters, but that's fine). While not all of the characters are useful, it's fun to have the option of taking control of almost every enemy and ally in the game; some creatures such as the Dragon are crazy overpowered and blast to fool around with.
So why only the 3 star rating? Well...the campaign is a bit short, and the graphics didn't make the transition so nice to the Switch. When playing in docked mode, it becomes obvious most elements were upscaled from a lower resolution. Furthermore, the English language track that was present in the 3DS version is inexplicably absent from this port. This is still a decent beat-em-up though, and earns its own place aside "Dragon's Crown" and the like.

Considering this is from some of the developers that worked on the amazing Sega Saturn classic, Guardian Heroes, this game is so amazing! Highly under rated, but definitely a hidden gem and all around great beat em up experience!

I liked the original on 3DS, but the revamp is worth getting; the boost in visuals is pretty nice, but I think having the larger screen on the go, and being able to port it to the big screen, is even better.
