This is a great power supply for when you have 12th or 13th gen Intel chips and an Nvidia RTX card. I'm using a water cooling AIO along with lots of fans and argb lighting. This power supply comes with a cable that plugs directly into the GPU without having to use an adapter for the 12 pin plug. The plugs for the cables are on the top also, so you'll have to make sure your case has space above the power supply instead. With the cable plugs being at the top, it's so much easier to manage cabling. I highly recommend if you're needing to plug your power cables in at the top.

I have been a long-time purchaser of Corsair PSUs. This RM1200x is powering my current build flawlessly and seems to be of the same quality I am used too.
I have a 7800x3d, Asrock Taichi B650e, 64gb CL 30 6000 Ram, Asrock Taichi 7900XTX and 12 case fans in a 7000D case.
The system has been super stable, and I have had zero power issues. I wasn't sure about how I would feel in regard to the side connections for all the PSU cables. While using the 7000d I have had zero issues and find the side connections very convenient and easy to work with. I think if you had a case with closer clearance between the frame and the case backing/door the side mounting could be a potential issue.
The fact that it is ATX 3.0 was important to me. It also has 4 single 8 (6+2) pin pcie cables so I could connect the 7900XTX without having to use the pigtail style.
There is a new metric being used that includes a CYBENETICS rating which I don't recall being included in the description. I have included a picture of the CYBENETICS rating for this PSU.
I don't care for using words like overkill. In my opinion purchasing key components like PSUs above what you think you will need will always allow for system to function under less strain and also provide for more future upgradability. I would rather save up more money for a build than to ever drop a level on core components such as a PSU.
I would absolutely recommend this PSU.

Good PSU, no problems adding after market extension cables. Powers my 4090 and 14900k with ease. Although, with usb headers becoming more and more needed. There are better options out there with them built in.

I would recommend this product to anyone with a high end gaming rig. It may seem like overkill, but its nice to have the extra overhead to limit the power spikes. The design is top tier, and makes one of the more frustrating parts of building a walk in the park. Do yourself a favor, and buy one of these!

The psu has a very solid design with very convenient side plugs which makes making cable changes easy since you don’t need to remove the psu to make changes. Also with the 12vhpwr cable included it prevents needing adapters to use a 40 series gpu. The cables are also very well done unlike some other cables that have a tendency to have weak points at the connectors.

Good PSU with solid power delivery right out of the box. Easy to use and connect. Buyers should be mindful that this is a shift model, meaning the connections will be to the side rather than the back. This can be great for cable management but it really depends on your case, so plan accordingly. Would rate 5/5 but the included cables are very stiff and look/feel cheap; probably to encourage sales of their separate "premium" cable kits.

Pros:
Small form factor and genius design, can't believe that other manufacturers haven't thought of putting the cables facing towards the user, which makes cable management and changing cables easier.
Plenty of included cables
No Coil whine
Quiet
Cons
The sata power cables are weirdly organized, they don't really work with corsair's own cases (4000d and 5000d) without some brute force

Easy install plenty of cables for any type of build as well. Corsair parts all the way. Plenty of power. Current build is 7950x3d, 64gb ram, and 7900xtx. I have barely even even scratched the surface running COD on ultra settings 1440p at 240hz on a 45 inch monitor. Powerhouse!

This has been a great power supply! Fits my Corsair 700D case perfect. has plenty of power running an RTX3080 and four mechanical Hard drives. Very quiet! the connections exiting the side make for much better cable management versus the old style.

You can’t go wrong with Corsair. At least I haven’t. I have their memory, cooling units, and now I have their top-of-the-line psu. I have confidence why. I turn on my pc that it is going to start up fast and strong. I run 2 video cards, blu-ray player, cd-rw, an ssd, and a hdd. Plus I have a water cooling unit for my gpu. Not a hitch. I would definitely buy this again, if I was building another unit. For sure.

I got this Power supply after having an EVGA 850 for less than a year. The theorethical power draw of my system was about 100 W below that, but after a while, the computer started to crash now and then, giving me a black screen but RGB lights were still on and unresponsive to power button. So, after some troubleshooting, I decided to get this powerfull power supply and all the crashing stopped. I'm running a Ryzen 5900X, RTX 3090 FE, 64 Gb ram, 2 SSD and liquid cooling system, in case this helps someone.

Fantastic PSU. I had all sorts of issue with my rig and an 850 watt EVGA PSU. I couldn't set my ram correctly with
EXPO and had to down clock DDR5 6400 to DDR5 5700. My rig would blue screen and crash in COD. I thought it was a bad motherboard. Then I was reading on Asus's site that I should use a 1000 Watt or great PSU for my configuration. All other PSU configurators said I only needed a 650 Watt PSU. I picked this PSU up and it has fixed all my issues. I love love love the side mounted power terminals. Makes install of the power cables a breeze. No more busted knuckles.

Seriously, I did everything to lower that DPC Latency. Changed UEFI settings, flashed new UEFI firmware, changed affinities, DDU drivers, new Nvidia drivers, old nvidia drivers, high performance mode, reseating the card and riser... Sometimes it works for a while, but it never stays consistant. All audio works perfectly with no clicks or pops outside the card. After doing more troubleshooting, I eventually ended up spending money to fix the problem and this was the first item on the list. I figured that the most recent start of this issue is the CPU upgrade I did. At first it didn't do it for several weeks, so I dismissed the possibility early. This PSU fixed the problem immediately. It replaced an older PSU with the same-ish wattage rating. All my audio problems from the card went away. I still get DPC "spikes", but it is not high enough or is evident in the audio.

Ive had my 1000 watt gold standard power supply since 2015. Its still running today with no issues. I decided to upgrade to 1200 watts for extra space when i decide to upgrade. You can never go wrong with corsair gold standard. Best buy carriers everything you need for building a PC. I reccomend getting the total tech package for extra insurance purposes. It’s definitely come in handy and has paid for itself multplie times since ive had it.

You will only ever need this if you intend to run the most powerful of equipment. The box is modular enough and will reach anything on a ATX board easily. Just be aware that I do not believe there enough cables for a motherboard that has a optional 8 pin slot for additional power features. This is a optional plug and you will likely find adapters easily for it if you need to have this. Lastly the screws do not mount well to some cases and may require some rigging if you need to firmly mount it. My solution to this is your standard zip ties.
