I didn't know the criterion collection was on blu ray. But I was super stoked to see that it was can't wait to watch it!

on the opening week of this release in theatres, the critics nearly massacred the work much to my disbelief. thank goodness this brilliant work of genius terry gilliam & hunter thompson has managed to have an incredible shelf life in the video media world. criterion has even gone so far as to release an incredible set for serious fans of the film to re-experience. needless to say, it looks fantastic & is definitely a great investment. this is, by far, johnny depp's most bizarre yet versatile role & everything else could almost pale in comparison. you won't even remember edward scissorhands or the tv show 21 jump street after watching this. fear & loathing excels in being disturbing, frightening, & hilarious all at once. one is never certain whether they should be panicky or trembling with laughter. do yourself a favor & grab a copy today!! why wait???

"We can't stop here, this is bat country!" I can probably quote this entire movie and never gets old! I take the dry sense of humor through-out this movie and apply it to my life. The acting is superb from both an unpredictable Johnny and back then a very chubby Benicio. I've problably seen this movie 36 times and the first ten times viewing it, I had always got something new from each time that really caught my attention. A must see but more importantly, a must buy!

Ok so come on it fear and loathing. If you've watched this movie before you know what your in for. However if you haven't its still fun. If your looking for a movie with strong plot lines with characters that leave you with the warm fuzzies this is not your movie, but if you want to sit back and laugh your tail off at a movie with some of the best one liners ever you must see this one.

Johnny Depp does a fantastic job portraying Hunter Thompson. It's an in-depth character study of someone who is totally whacked out on drugs but doing his job and living his day-to-day life. Benecio Del Toro is amazing as his cohort. I wouldn't have found this movie but for the Rum Diaries, also Johnny Depp, which came out this year. Hunter Thompson was a fascinating person.

This one of my wife and I's favorite films, absolutely hilarious! Best of all, it's true! Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro are fantastic! Terry Gilliam (12 Monkeys, Monty Python) does an amazing job bringing Hunter S. Thompson's novel to the screen. Loaded with special features, I highly recommend this special edition! Trust me, it's worth every penny!

Having lcoved the book as much as I did, it was a lot of fun to see it brought to life and by none other than Terry Gilliam. It is a fabulous adaptation with Gilliam's creativity invested as well. Criterion has released an almost perfect collection. Another note, Johnny Depp plays a better Hunter S. Thompson than Bill Murray.

this has always been one of my fav movies all time and its my fav johnny depp and benicio del toro performances too! a must have for fans of the book. whats rare is it is actually better than the book!

Man I don't understand why it has taken so long to get this movie on Blu-Ray for?!?!? I can't wait for 2-2-10!!!! This is such a classic film and I can't wait for it to FINALLY make it to my Blu-Ray collection!

A cinematic exercise in strange excellence. Overwhelmingly psychedelic perfectly suited for Terry Gilliam fans. Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro turn in inspired performances as a destructive duo living out the American dream in a drug induced haze within the confines of the Las Vegas strip.
