My daughter gave me this as a Christmas gift. We bought this instead of an Instapot during Black Friday deals because it was a few dollars more but bigger. Absolutely love it!

Amazing Cooker, but the 10-quart Size is a Monster

The Crock-Pot 10-quart Multi-Cooker is their newest and largest offering in their multi-cooker line, combining more than a dozen functions into a single cooker, making this a 1-pot device that can bring your meal from prep to cook to serve. This is not your grandmother’s Crock-Pot. And I will say that the 10-quart size is a monster. More on that shortly. The Multi-Cooker offers the usual slow cooking capability that Crock-Pot invented with standard “low” and “high” settings, but can now take your entire meal thru its entire cooking cycle. Start with the ability to brown/sear a cut of meat to seal in the juices during cooking, move on to sautéing the vegetables and aromatics to cook with the meal, then reduce to slow cooking and leave while you’re at work, coming home to a fully-prepared meal. For meals not looking to slow cook, for example a pot of chili, use the Multi-Cooker to brown the beef and onions in the pot, then switch to “Simmer” mode. All modes come with an ability to set a timer for cooking, with the device automatically changing to “Keep Warm” mode at the end of the cycle. If you don’t have the 5-6 hours to simmer or slow cook a meal to completion, the Multi-Cooker includes several pressure cooking modes that accelerate cooking times exponentially. For example, a 5-6 hour meal can be reduced to as low as 1 hour without sacrificing meal quality. If anything, I found that it enhanced the meal, pushing flavors from the sauce or aromatics into the food under pressure that accelerates cooking time and keeps meats juicy. As an example of pressure cooking, I was able to cook a full meal of Honey Soy Chicken in less than 15 minutes. Three-to-four minutes browning the chicken and onions, then less than 5 minutes cooked under pressure, followed by about 5 minutes simmering. The chicken came out tender and juicy, and my picky son even said it was good. It actually took me more time to prep the meal (cutting the chicken, dicing onions and garlic, measuring out the ingredients, etc.) than it did to cook the meal. The Multi-Cooker will also work as a rice cooker, quickly your rice then switching to a “Keep Warm” mode for use all day. Item of note: Make sure you follow the instructions for rinsing the rice. The starch will come out of the pressure valve and bobber valves with the potential of causing them to stick over time. The Multi-Cooker also comes with a steaming rack, allowing you to steam vegetables while also cooking your main course, or just steaming them by themselves. Other options on the device, which I have not or may not ever use, include the ability to make yogurt, boil water, and sterilize baby bottle parts. Cleaning is easy using the removable cook bowl, which is non-stick coated and dishwasher safe. I found, however, the size of the bowl took up almost 50% of the bottom rack of my dishwasher, so I just ended up hand-washing the bowl. It’s a Monster: The one down side to this size Multi-Cooker is that it is a monster. As mentioned, this is their largest Multi-Cooker (10-quart) and is more than a foot wide across the top. I’m usually only cooking for 2-3 people, so cutting recipes to reduce portions ended up not leaving enough juice or product in the bowl to cook properly. Up side is that I now end up with a lot of leftovers. But I usually cook large batches of chili when it gets cold, so this will be excellent for containing my full pot of chili without worrying about it boiling over. For comparison of how large this is, since just saying “10 quarts” is hard to quantify, I included photos of the Multi-Cooker with this review. One shows a 6-pound boneless pork shoulder in the cooking bowl, with a regular-sized fork standing up in the bowl for size comparison. There is also a photo comparing the overall size of the device with a standard 12-ounce beverage can. Bottom Line: I love this device, despite the monstrous size. I’ve been able to reduce the number of pots and pans I would usually use, thanks to its 1-pot cooking design. It has also given my cooking a lot more flexibility, whether it’s the ability to put a pork shoulder in when I leave the house & have pork carnitas ready when I get home, or to reduce meal cooking time by bringing a meal that would take over an hour to cook down to a matter of minutes. All of which done with a single pot that is self-contained and amazingly easy to clean up. I highly recommend this device with the one caveat of make sure you’re picking the right size for your family needs. If it’s just you & your partner, then you may want to look at a smaller size (this is offered in 4, 6, and 8-quart sizes). But if you’re cooking for a family, or cooking for Sunday sports get-togethers, this is the perfect device for you.

I love I love it....so easy to use. Literally when I got it I had to cook something the first thing I use to is to make pinto beans and oh my God was that machine fast. Such a new way of cooking it's just amazing I made other dishes and they cooked pretty quickly.. so I made one of our special plates which is barbacoa and I had no disappointments whatsoever it came out perfectly.

Got this for my boss, she had an old one. We had a conversation about cooking food and she mentioned her old one was good but lacked features. Surprised her with this new one. She absolutely loved it! Works fantastic. I got one for myself, yet to open it. The pictures attached are what she sent me. P.S; I never got that pay raise though.

WE LOVE OUR CROCK-POT EXPRESS 10 QT MULTI-COOKER!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Crock-Pot Express 10 Qt. Multi-Cooker is not only the largest capacity multi-cooker available, but I believe that it is probably the best multi-cooker on the market. At this time, Crock-Pot Customer Service does not have the 10 Qt. Crock-Pot Express in their computer system, and cannot provide any Warranty Replacement parts or units. This is probably resultant from this being a very new model. Hopefully this issue will be resolved quickly. This new 10 quart Crock-Pot Express (hereinafter referred to as CPE) accommodates larger batches of food than other models. 10 quarts is a great size, and a very welcome improvement. (The maximum usable capacity of the pot is 2/3 capacity (6 - 2/3 quarts). The fill lines are permanently embossed inside the vessel. The 10 quart CPE also accommodates browning larger pieces of meat without crowding. This 10 quart version really fits the bill! (Cooking pot approximate dimensions 10”wide x 7” deep). The 10 quart CPE package includes the main cooking unit base, a removable, non-stick coated cooking pot / vessel, the cover with silicone sealing gasket, a wire steaming rack and a 7” plastic spoon. It would be nice if Crock-Pot sold the optional glass lid and replacement sealing gaskets, however they no longer sell any parts, accessories or Crock-Pots directly to consumers. It is extremely important for replacement parts such as gaskets, steam release valves and bobber valves to be sold and readily available. Crock-Pot discontinued consumer-direct sales from their website as of 9/20/2019 and these items are not sold by any retailers or websites. The Crock-Pot webstore was the only place that replacement parts and accessories were being sold. Hopefully this availability problem will be corrected before too long. This new CPE has some noteworthy improvements over the other models. Significantly, Crock-Pot has completely redesigned the Steam Release Valve mechanism for this model, which is an excellent safety improvement. All of the other models have a one-piece steam release valve which requires pushing on the ear on the valve to rotate it to the “Release” position. The new, remotely actuated steam release valve is comprised of an actuating knob and steam release valve and port that are separated from each other on the lid by approximately seven inches (internal linkage inside the lid allows the knob to remotely operate the valve), which allows your hand to be safely away from the steam release port when operating the steam release knob. Another improvement is the addition of an electronic “progress bar” to annunciate when the unit has achieved the required pressure for the pressure cooking cycle to begin. Pressure cookers take several (sometimes many) minutes to reach pressure. The LED Progress Bar sequentially illuminates five LED segments as pressure rises, until finally all five LED bars are illuminated and the pressure cooking cycle commences. This terrific appliance includes 14 preset cooking options, as well as the ability to manually select settings for time, temperature, pressure and delayed start. Control functions are selected from the electronic control panel, comprised of membrane type switches. A large, bright blue easy to read LED Display Panel informs as to the cooking mode as well as the timers. Each of the buttons has an LED above to clearly show which function is selected. The buttons have tactile feedback as well as an audible beep each time a button is depressed. The electronic control panel is very straightforward, logically organized, offers great flexibility and is easy to use without any confusion. Among the convenience features programmed into this unit are delayed start for cooking, and automatic keep-warm / hold feature when a cooking cycle finishes. The pre-programmed food specific modes are tailored to the appropriate time, temperature and pressure for the type of food and cooking method selected. Those settings can be manually adjusted to deviate from the pre-sets and fine tune to your preferences. The preset selections include: Brown/Sear; Sauté; Slow Cook; Simmer; Boil; Yogurt; Keep Warm, Meat/Poultry; Beans/Chile; Soup/Broth; Rice/Grains; Dessert; Steam and Sterilize. This multi-cooker has many uses. However, the two primary functions (in my opinion) are that of Slow Cooking and Pressure which are complemented by the other, ancillary functions which allow you to accomplish browning/searing, sautéing, steaming, slow cooking or pressure cooking in a single, versatile, pleasant to use appliance. This exemplifies true “one pot cooking”. Many recipes truly lend themselves to this appliance, and can be prepared well using either slow cooking or pressure cooking modes. Converting tougher cuts of meat (like brisket, round, chuck, etc.) and high collagen cuts (like pork butt or shoulder) into soft, tender, melt-in-your mouth deliciousness can be properly accomplished over many hours of low and slow cooking or alternatively in much less time via pressure cooking, which greatly accelerates the cooking process and has the additional benefit of infusing the cooking liquid (gravy) into the solid foods. Pressure cooking can genuinely add flavor to the foods being cooked. Steam and pressure really transform tough, chewy or fatty cuts of meat into some of the most delicious meals you’ve ever tasted. This electronic, programmable, versatile multi-cooker makes it very easy to produce fantastic dishes. All of the important parameters for the pre-set cooking modes are listed on a table in the User Manual. Although not included in the CPE User Manual, the yellow Information Sheet that is also packed with the CPE includes instructions for conducting an initial basic functional assurance test of the appliance, prior to risking a malfunction due to defect or shipping damage. It makes good sense to test the CPE before risking a full pot of ingredients. On the Information Sheet, Crock-Pot refers to this test as the “Initial Water Test – Practice With Pressure”. In about ten minutes, the basic function assurance test demonstrates that the unit will heat to proper temperature and pressure (heating unit/element and thermostat functioning properly), will properly seal for pressure (gasket/seal, bobber valve and steam release valve performing correctly), will only unlock when the safety plungers allow after complete depressurization, and that the electronic control unit, control panel buttons and LED display are working properly. Once satisfied that the unit is working properly, a user can feel much more comfortable about preparing a recipe and actually getting a properly cooked meal without risking an appliance failure and potentially wasting all of the ingredients. Of course, the real measure of how good the CPE is, is in the results when cooking a recipe. The old expression is “the proof is in the pudding”. In our case, the “proof is in the pot roast”. Our initial use of the CPE was the preparation of our favorite pot roast with vegetables. Cooking the pot roast employed the use of several CPE functions: Brown/Sear to sear the meat, Sauté for the garlic and onion, Pressure cooking the full pot of ingredients (via Manual settings for Pressure and Time), Simmer to thicken the gravy and Keep Warm. The CPE worked flawlessly, and produced a great, tender, flavorful pot roast that we enjoyed for several meals. In fact, the CPE delivered the best and most delicious pot roast that we have had in many years. My wife and I both enjoy using the CPE. The Quality of this CPE appears to be good. The unit is nicely designed. The electro-mechanical components including switches, LED display, steam release valve, etc. all functioned properly, and the CPE heated and pressurized properly. It is easy to quickly develop familiarity with the controls and functional operation of the CPE and to start cooking and enjoying the results almost immediately. Like any other non-stick cookware, the cooking vessel / pot requires appropriate care in use, handling and cleaning to prevent damage to the non-stick coating. There is always a trade off when selecting non-stick cookware. You must be more careful with them to protect the non-stick coating, but the clean-up is certainly a breeze and well worth it. The CPE cooking pot is truly non-stick and was a snap to clean. If you wash the CPE pot in the dishwasher the non-stick coating will very rapidly deteriorate and fail; the pot should really be hand-washed. The silicone rubber sealing gasket is easily removed (and replaced) to facilitate proper cleaning. Overall, we really like this CPE and have really enjoyed using it thus far. The cooking results are absolutely excellent and this multi-cooker is very versatile and is capable of producing very satisfying results whether slow-cooking, pressure-cooking, steaming etc. I hope that it will prove to be reliable and durable over the long-term, and initial impressions are favorable. The matter of availability of parts and accessories is somewhat surprising and disappointing, and I hope that Crock-Pot resolves this issue quickly so that CPE users will be able to get the parts and accessories they need and want, for both Warranty replacement and post-warranty needs, in order to continue enjoying this excellent cooking appliance in the future. Given the robust features and the large, 10 quart capacity, this new Crock-Pot Express 10 Qt. Multi-Cooker is arguably the Best of the multi-cookers! It is a great addition to our kitchen and we are enjoying it quite a lot. It exceeded our expectations, and we could hardly be more pleased with how well it functioned, and especially with how well recipes turn out! I believe that the 10 QT. Crock-Pot Express represents an excellent value. I think that anyone would really love the new 10 Qt. Crock-Pot Express, and I honestly recommend it very highly!

Crock-Pot® - 10qt Digital Multi-Cooker is an excellent addition to our kitchen. We were looking to buy a multi pressure cooker and bought Crock-Pot 10qt digital multi cooker as it has so many features and eliminating the need for multiple cookers. It is really a big pain point by using the slow cooker, fast cooker, fryer while cooking for a party and we were spending a lot of time to clean after cooking. It is huge with 10qt which allows us to cook and feed for 13 people. Crock-Pot® - 10qt Digital Multi Cooker offering 9 different functions Pressure Cook, Slow Cook, Sauté, Brown/Sear, Boil & Simmer and Steam. It came with the recipe book. It is very easy to hand-wash. We have cooked BBQ Chicken, Chicken tenders and it came out really crispy and tasted really good. We have been using the Crock-Pot® - 10qt Digital Multi Cooker every day to cook various food. We have tried a few recipes provided in the cookbook and came out really well. The 15 one-touch meal settings are excellent options that enabled us to prepare a variety of dishes and keep food at the desired temperature until ready to serve during parties. This Crock-Pot 10-quart express slow cooker features a progress bar which is another nice feature, so you know when pressurization is complete. We are impressed with results came out of this multi cooker. I can tell you that this pressure cooker exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this cooker to anyone and it will be definitely a great addition to their kitchen.
