Great Crucial reliability Simple black aesthetic Low profile will fit in most laptops Lifetime warranty Higher throughput than DDR4 More memory for RAM hungry applications Not so great High CAS latency than DD4 Out of the box you’ll notice that these SODIMMS have a nice all black look, except the blue Crucial. Of course, you aren’t likely going to see it much in a laptop but if all black internals in your laptop, like some gaming systems, it matches nicely. They have no heatsinks included and no mention of heatsinks. They are very low profile meaning they should have no problem fitting in all but the thinnest laptops. The good thing is Crucial has a compatibility checker on their website to verify if this kit is compatible. The kit is straightforward and offers just the SODIMMS. Installation was extremely easy. The most challenging part wasn’t even upgrading the RAM but removing two stubborn screws from the bottom shell of the laptop. Apparently, some newer laptops now pause for what seems like an eternity when memory is changed, possibly performing extra verification. Upgrading RAM on older laptops only caused a onetime 10 second pause on startup. It isn’t certain if this is laptop specific or something extra in verification with DDR5 but the initial startup after installation on these sticks was a pause with a blank screen for over 3 minutes. No fan noises or boot logo. Just 3+ minutes of keyboard lights and tense silence. Thankfully nothing was wrong, and the system just asked if I was ok with the memory change. After confirming the change, everything went smoothly. These sticks are rated at 5600MT/s but will downclock in a slower system. CAS Latency is 46 which seems crazy high but more common for DDR5 and from reports is offset by the much higher transfer speeds. My gaming laptop is fully compatible so straight after install they were running at the full 5600MT/s. Gaming performance seemed unchanged but most games I play are more GPU bound than CPU bound with the previous 16GB being plenty. Where the upgrade to 32GB has made a difference for me is photo editing. GNU Image Manipulation Program is a nice free tool for photo editing but has a habit of slowing down even fast systems. The stuttering while editing larger photos was also gone. While upgrading to 32GB didn’t make GNU Image Manipulation Program lightning fast it did make a noticeable difference, particularly during the initial load time. The normal pauses that would happen during editing larger photos are all but gone taking a point of frustration out of editing. Even during extended usage there was no perceptible decrease in performance. However, this might not all be due to the memory as my system also has an integrated RAM head spreader. The good thing with Crucial is the memory is also backed by a Lifetime warranty so if any problems arise you can feel safe that you are covered. While not everyone needs 32GB of RAM today it certainly doesn’t hurt performance. If you are content creator or have a use case where the normal 16GB of RAM isn’t going to cut it, the Crucial DDR5 is solid choice. Just be sure to take advantage of their compatibility checker to ensure the best experience.

    Cheap and powerful upgrade!

I recently received a Dell Laptop with an AMD processor, 512 SSD, and 8 gigs or memory. The computer was okay but the fan was constantly running and the memory was always maxed out. I was only using the computer to browse the internet and only had like 2 or 3 tabs open. I was surprised at how sluggish the computer was getting with more tabs open and much the fan was running. I'm surprised that any modern computer is coming with 8 gigs of ram as its not really adequate for a modern computer. Thankfully memory is pretty cheap and is super easy to upgrade on your own. I added this Crucial 32GB memory and now the computer is noticeably faster (even boot times), the fan has not turned on even with heavy usage, and everything just works much smoother. Seeing as this is a more basic laptop the memory upgrade is probably way overkill and would probably suffice with just 16gb. Even if you are a novice, you can upgrade the memory with a few tools that you have around your home. I would recommend using the Crucial website on the computer you want to upgrade; this will tell you exactly what memory will fit and how much you can add. I thought this was really nice tool that crucial offers to make sure you get the correct product the first time. Crucial has been around for a very long time and makes a solid product. I have used them many times and never had any issues. Most laptops you just remove the bottom panel, and the memory is right on top for you to upgrade. Just search the internet for your Laptop brand/model with the keyword memory upgrade. You should easily find a video on how to upgrade your computer's memory. Make sure you are doing this in a static free setup as you do not want to electrically shock the memory modules or the computer. Once installed my computer booted up and windows took me to a screen asking if I upgraded the memory. I selected yes and computer finished booting to windows. The new memory worked perfectly and showed up in settings about computer as 32gb. I even checked the bios just to make sure and that showed 32gb at 5600 Mhz. Some systems you have to access the Bios to make changes for the memory to properly function, thankfully I did not. With the 32gb in my laptop I can open pretty much anything on this computer and not have any issues. There has been no sluggishness and it's a much better computer now. If you are having issues with your computer and it has low memory I would strongly recommend upgrading to this Crucial kit as it works perfectly and was easy to install.

I have been using Crucial product for a long time, Crucial is my trusted brand. Provides high performance, high quality and durability. This product consists of two sticks of 16GB module making it a total of 32GB. Its speeds can go up to 5,600MT/s. The configuration is one rank by 8 16GB module. It supports Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO. It is very power efficiency because the on module operating voltage is only 1.1V. The item I received is made in Malaysia which is very good. I installed on my ASUS TUF Dash F15 (2022) laptop and temperature hover between 46C to 47.5C for the first stick and between 43.5 to 45.8C for the second stick. Ambient temperature was 28C. Note that because the laptop spots an Intel 12th Gen processors, it only support DDR5 up to 4800MHz so these two sticks are not running at its rated speed but when I upgrade my laptop and move these two over, it will run at its maximum speed. I don't have to buy RAM again. I noticed that once installed and power the laptop back on, there was a slightly longer delay to boot up than usual for the first boot but then everything would be normal again. Running OCCT test, the temperature peak at 92.75C and 89.50C, well within specs. OCCT benchmark shows memory read at 1420.62; memory write at 1368.76; combined at 1391.34. Note that this was running at 4800MHz due to my CPU. Aida64 memory test shows read at 66249 MB/s and latency at 91.9ns Another app called Passmark Performance Test, I got these values: Memory read uncached 19,714 MB/s Memory read cached 34,926 MB/s Memory write 15,793MB/s Latency 48ns I am very happy with this memory.

Faster and better from top of the line Crucial

The Crucial 32GB kit consisting of 2 16GB DDR5-5600 SODIMM memory modules have made my life calmer, let me explain as brief as possible why it is better and faster: My laptop came with DDR5 and it works well with 16GB but it can be upgraded to 64GB so I decided to get the 32GB from Crucial to know if it sped things up and it worked much better than before. The installation was easy; all I had to do is take the back of my laptop off by taking off the screws and slowly taking the back off. Once I did that then the replacing of the RAM was much easier, opened both sides of the old ram and took them out, then place these on an angle and pushed down until they clicked, lastly put the laptop together and done. Once installed, the performance is just much better, I edit photos and 4k videos besides play games on my laptop and right away I can tell the big difference of speed. The 5600Mhz clock speed is just much faster at everything, rendering videos is much faster, also faster loading times, faster file transfers, faster downloads, and flawless multitasking. The DDR5 offers double the bandwidth of DDR4 so it is a great improvement, it is much efficient too. With an operating voltage of only 1.1V and on module voltage regulation and power management integrated circuit it offers cleaner power. I like Crucial, I have it on my built PC and I have it because it is designed for long term stability, it is reliable even when demanding a lot from it. Overall I am enjoying the upgrade, the Crucial 32 GB memory is much faster and better at everything including the editing 4k videos and rendering them too. Multitasking is also smooth and the rapid data access is excellent I am happier and calm knowing I will get things done fast.

Useful Upgrade for Resource Intensive Games

Upgrading to 32GB of RAM from 16GB had an immediate impact on my computer’s ability to run resource intensive games. For example, while playing “A Plague Tale: Requiem,” at total of 15GB of memory was in use (see gameplay image). Before the upgrade, the computer would use a maximum of 10 to 11GB when running the game, the rest being used for Windows overhead. Essentially, I noticed the game ran smoother and larger cut scenes loaded faster. Frame rates were not affected much, and that might be because both the old and new sticks of RAM were running at the same speed, 4800MHz. Even though these DDR5 memory sticks are rated to run at 5600MHz, my 13th generation Intel Core i7 processor is only capable of handling 4800MHz. And even though the computer’s manufacturer doesn’t allow for XMP profiles to be enabled upon memory upgrades, I was able to measure and confirm that the RAM was running at the maximum speed of 4800MHz (see Command Center image). This was nice to know considering I can’t adjust the DRAM voltage and primary timing, something the XMP profile would have ensured. Other benchmarks I ran measured read and write speeds, as well as bandwidth. I did notice slight increases in both read/write speeds and bandwidth with the new Crucial memory versus previous brand’s memory sticks (see VOVSOFT benchmark image). However, just like my FPS tests, the difference was negligible. Still, these slight differences may be a result of Crucial’s design and manufacturing process, such as the memory’s power efficiency, single-rank DDR5 architecture, etc. Your guess is as good as mine. Overall, I am happy with the upgrade. I future-proofed my laptop by doubling the memory to 32GB. After a week’s use, my computer is stable, and there weren’t any issues with compatibility. And on that front, if an issue ever arises, it is nice knowing that the RAM has a lifetime warranty.

    Great RAM from Crucial

Adding extra RAM is a great way to squeeze even more performance out of a computer. The 5600 SODIMM is relatively new to laptops. I upgraded an Alienware M16 laptop with the 32GB Crucial DDR5 SODIMM kit. It has worked great. This is not my first memory kit from Crucial. I think Crucial makes quality components at good prices, and this SODIMM kit performed great as I expected. Installation: Every installation is going to be different. To find out what memory works on your machine, you can consult Crucial’s website for their memory configuration tool or check out the documentation on the website of your laptop manufacturer. Some things to note: Even if your laptop supports DDR5 SODIMM, do not be surprised if your RAM speeds cap out at 4800MHZ. 14th GEN Intel laptop CPUs support SODIMM speeds up to 5600MHZ, but 13th GEN Intel laptop CPUs do not. The RAM will likely still work, but just capped at the lower speed. Also, some laptop manufacturers will only have one RAM slot that you can swap out. Sometimes, one stick may be soldered onto the mainboard and irreplaceable. All things to consider! Remember to be careful when taking your laptop casing apart. Be sure to unplug the battery from the mainboard before swapping out RAM. After you install the RAM and get the PC back together, do not be surprised if it takes a few minutes and some false reboots for the machine to boot normally. Every DELL laptop that I have upgraded starts with a black screen that occasionally flashes for a few minutes before everything settles and starts as normal. Usually the laptop will tell me in the boot process that more RAM has been added. Experience: I like how these DIMMS look. I think the darker PCB looks cool, but no one will see that once the memory is inside the machine. The RAM has been stable. I put the RAM through the paces with Memtest86 and the Windows Memory Diagnostics tool. The RAM completed several passes without error. Temps never got too high. The highest I saw in a few hours of testing was a temperature of 66 degrees Celsius. All-in-all, it is my opinion that the laptop performs better with the increased amount of RAM. Applications load a bit quicker. The machine performs better with some games. I have more RAM for photo and video editing applications. Conclusion: I think this kit is stable and well made. Installation was relatively easy. I had no compatibility problems. Memory checkers have hot found any errors with the chips. Temperatures have been pretty good. The RAM has performed well. 5/5

I have nothing but good things to say about this laptop memory. It's super-fast, nearly the fastest on the market. I think I've seen some RAM at 6000MT/s, but it's not very well accepted by PC manufactures yet. So, realistically, you won't find a faster and more usable speed of RAM. This Crucial memory is widely accepted in devices. I tried the RAM in my Dell XPS 15 laptop at full-speed success. And currently, it's in my mini-PC by Beelink (SER7) running happily at full-speed again. On both devices, the PC automatically recognized the memory and was using full-speeds and dual-channel operation. I can't ask for more than that. Easy peasy. A few sides notes that you might care about: This model of RAM comes packed with Mircon memory chips operating at C46-45-45-90. Neither of my test devices were equipped to attempt overclocking or timing adjustments settings. My Dell laptop is an Intel-based product, while my mini PC is AMD. Both worked flawlessly. I only ran memory tests in my mini PC's BIOS, and after three runs, everything was perfect. I figured I didn't need to keep going.

The ability to upgrade RAM is always a benefit for me. I know everyone wants thin and light these days. But you are forced with soldered RAM. The 32GB Kit is the new standard for laptop DDR5 SODIMM RAM. The RAM is fast. 32GB of RAM should be the standard for any series user with a laptop. You have more than enough RAM for long projects or creations. Also, there is plenty of RAM for any modern game! I used the RAM inside two different laptops. One was a 2-in-1 everyday laptop. The other was a gaming laptop. Both booted reasonably fast upon changing the RAM. Installing the RAM is simple and easy that can be done with the right tools. In both systems, the RAM just popped in. Just align the right stick according to the notch. The 5600MHZ is a good speed for laptops. I don't see any complaints because you are in that sweet spot. The RAM also never got hot and overloaded. It stayed consistent the whole time. There was no lag or spikes. After the many task that I did. You can't go wrong here because you are getting consistency.

I've always considered Crucial as one of my go to memory providers.  Always reliable since DDR memory became a notebook standard.  When I buy a machine that is upgradable, I always buy the minimum memory configuration and then upgrade the memory to the max that can be installed (and this varies by manufacturer).  I recently acquired an Acer i9 Predator notebook with an Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU.  When I got it the fastest DDR5 memory available was 4800MHz.  This 32GB kit is 5600MHz.  I've configured the machine with Oracle's Virtual box, I plan on running SQL server on one VM and the second VM as a Visual Studio Development machine.  So reliability is my key concern.  Then performance, I expect to get both. After removing 10 star screws, the bottom of the notebook was easily removed.  I removed the 2 DDR5 modules in the machine and added the two in this kit.  I turned the machine over, and powered it on.  I had to wait almost 2 minutes before the machine rebooted (I'll admit I was concerned, but recalled when changing ram sizes on this notebook, it does a full memory test (not displayed) before restarting.  And then a brief notification that 32Gb was detected in slot 1 and 3 (considering the machine only has 2 slots, this was interesting). Then I went back to Windows 11.  I then launched task manager (Ctl+Shift+Esc), selected memory and I could see 32GB installed, running at 5600MHz and hovering over slots used. A popup box is showing 16GB in slot 1 and 16GB in slot 3 running at 5600MHz.  Yea, all looks good, I start the 2 virtual machines and and let my test app run (exercises DB read/write/updates).  After an hour, with the CPU fan cranking up and down, I am convinced the system is stable.  Over 90K records in my DB added/updated. This was an excellent performance number, about 5% higher than I got before the upgrade to this faster 5600MHz memory. My system seems reliable, it has no problem running either Google Chrome or MS Edge with numerous tabs open.  But it ran my rigorous test apps with no issues.  A nice upgrade, no issues. Excellent!

I have been upgrading RAM in computers or building computers for over 20 years and Crucial has always been a brand I can depend on. These laptop SODIMM's were exactly what I was looking for to upgrade my daughters RAM in her Omen laptop. She not only uses her laptop to game and for video editing to upload videos to her YouTube channel but also creating and editing music samples. Running a Performance Test on the memory only saw about a 7% increase in Memory Mark scores but I doubled the amount of RAM in the laptop but I could notice after the first reboot with the new RAM the laptop overall felt faster. After installing the RAM I ran CPU-Z and Windows 11 identified it as DDR5 with 16GB's in each of the slots for a total of 32GB. It also recognized the different frequencies and CAS latency timings for overclocking. Pros -Compatible with many laptops -Fit perfectly into my Omen laptop to double the RAM -No compatability issues, Windows and CPU-Z recognized the new RAM without issues Cons -None to speak of if your laptop can take advantage of DDR5 Dual Channel memory Overall Crucial Memory is a great option for performance and price. I have never had any issues with any of the laptops or desktop computers I have upgraded over the years when using Crucial.

It is a good improvement to my old 4800 MHz RAM though not impressive. I installed it on a core i7 1 year old laptop. I won't get to the technical benchmarks since those can be found in the net, I did compare my old to these modules and there is a 12% improvement. The best improvement was in gaming load up and system boot up. This kit does not come with heat sink so I got two plates to help with excess. Installation on my laptop was easy as most gaming laptops have easy access to upgrade. It has not crashed or failed despite heavy gaming load. Compared to other RAM brands this has been reliable so far after almost a month of use. It was recognized right away and I did not have to mess with the BIOS for any adjustments. I did have reboot twice which I attributed to the change in memory size. I did not see significant improvements on boot up time or video rendering and editing though it is worth the investment for the price. I would add it to my other laptop but I already have 32Gb in it.
